Addressing today’s news of upheaval in America’s financial markets, McCain said this morning that, despite fears over the “turmoil” on Wall Street, “the fundamentals of our economy are strong.”
“But,” he added, “These are very, very difficult times.”
The Obama campaign seized on the statement, contrasting it with McCain’s new ad — “Crisis” — which paints a more foreboding picture of the American economy.
“That shows that he is extraordinarily out of touch,” said campaign spokesman Tommy Vietor. “It’s even more surprising when you look at his ad today that shows the economy in crisis, that’s the lead of his ad.”
In addressing the Wall Street troubles today, McCain criticized the existing system of oversight over financial markets and voiced his opposition to a bailout of Lehman brothers funded by taxpayer dollars.
“We’ve got to take every action to build an environment of robust energy supplies, lower inflation, controlled healthcare costs, access to international markets, low taxes and reduced burden of government to allow people to move forward toward a future of prosperity,” McCain said. “A McCain-Palin administration will replace the outdated, patchwork quilt of regulatory oversight and bring transparency and accountability to Wall Street.”

Funny that all the companies going down the tank are headed by members of the BoD at the Yale School Of Business (SOB).
Coincidence? Maybe? Or is Yale, the school of Bush, just full of idiots and bad business philosophy!
Sincerely,
YuSuqa M’Diq

September 16th, 2008 at 12:50 pm
@YuSuqa M’Diq: Yes and no. Yes, Yale teaches, among other things, bad business philosophy, but it’s not by accident or by ineptitude. Yale is finishing school for the New World Order.

Dean, I agree. One of the things that make me disgusted the most is the constant Pavlonian applause that comes after each lie. When the hell are people going to wake up and realize that every four years they are sold the same pile of dung? The American politicians cannot and will not work for the American people until the American people regain the power to print money. Who’s your Daddy? Privately owned central banks are THE problem. Ending the current debt money system is the only way to turn anything around. Maybe we need less lawyer jokes (although I am not a fan of them either) and more private banker jokes. What do you call a hundred private bankers at the bottom of the ocean? A good start. Ha, ha, ha.

1. McCain’s economic fundementals are strong.
2. This whole financial “crisis” is by design.
3. We will do away with paper currency in favor of “credits” through the use of the RFID chip.

this just in! Osama Bin Laden declares Victory in the war on terror!
September 16th, 2008 at 1:15 pm
This is coming from an individual who proclaimed on the debates a few months ago he was weak on economics. GET REAL MCLAME!!! You know damn well our economy had been in the toilet for some time/ this is a real concern. If we totally tank out, you can forget about this phony left right paradigm. I’m surprised we have weathered this fiat dollar for so long, being soooooo leveraged out on loan.
September 16th, 2008 at 1:28 pm
This should tell people by leaps and bounds that the federal note stamped as legal tender is as wotrless as toilet papaer. How can anyone to expect to trade or sell when you only have fake as paper, We need to kick the federal reserve AKA “The Private Bankers” and kick the shit out of them and take back what was rightfully stolen from this country? Gold!!! These bastards succeeded in the great dpression and now we are on the verge of a collapse. The private banking system needs to go and why should the Federal Reserve care because its useless money borrowed on a dollar thats borrowed on dollar.
September 16th, 2008 at 1:29 pm
The economy “is” doing fine.

McCain – an old, senile, retarded American rube…
September 16th, 2008 at 9:56 pm
Hi , Im John McCain have you Americans heard of this drug called “crack”, let me tell you guys it is great , These guys from the goverment have been smoking it for years and give it to me free as long as I say what they want me to say. I think you guys should smoke this stuff too. You won’t care about the economy anymore or be hungry. I think I will give crack too all Americans to quell there disdain for our goverment. I mean I don’t care about shit it must really work!!!.
September 16th, 2008 at 10:15 pm
It should be blatantly obvious that Mcbrain is FAAAAR out of touch. He only thinks the economy is strong because he doesn’t go to the grocery store, he doesn’t buy gas, he probably has an accountant pay all of his household bills for all seventeen of his houses and condo’s. so, of course he thinks the “fundamentals” of the economy are strong. I guess when you have a zillion dollars to play with, it’s easy to think that the economy is ok. EAT THE RICH!!!!! EAT THE RICH!!!!!! EAT THE RICH!!!!!! EAT THE RICH!!!!!! EAT THE RICH!!!!!
September 16th, 2008 at 11:38 pm
The sad thing about this there are Americans that actually believe McCain. Quite possibly the dumbest fucking people on this planet.
September 17th, 2008 at 2:49 am
Not only is he old and senile, but you also must understand where McCain is from. It is called ARIZONA!!! This state has one of the highest dropout rates, highest crime rates, number one in identity theft and has the worst healthcare system in the country. Do you research. Do you want this country run like Arizona? Good grief!!!
September 17th, 2008 at 9:09 am
Yuck AZ its too late we are already run that way.
September 17th, 2008 at 2:13 pm
God, how I wish there had been no such things as George Bush and Dick Cheney or the neocons. But if it wasn’t them it would be someone else.
September 17th, 2008 at 4:11 pm
“the fundamentals of our economy are strong.”
I wish someone could get him on national TV and have him break that down for me as far as the future of the US stand economically..
“Fundamentally” we should not be in ANY debt if we followed the US Constitution and did away with 80% of BIG GVT….
