The UN is warning of a food shortage crisis and drawing up plans for food rations which will hit even middle-class suburban populations as inflation and economic uncertainty causes the prices of staple food commodities to skyrocket.
The United Nation’s World Food Programme cautions today that if it doesn’t receive more funding, it will have to halt food aid to developing countries like Mexico and China.
"The WFP crisis talks come as the body sees the emergence of a “new area of hunger” in developing countries where even middle-class, urban people are being “priced out of the food market” because of rising food prices," reports the Financial Times.
The warning coincides with a speech by William Lapp, of US-based consultancy Advanced Economic Solutions, who cautioned that rising agricultural raw material prices would translate this year into sharply higher food inflation.
It also parallels a prediction by Don Coxe, a Chicago-based global portfolio strategist for BMO Financial Group who correctly forecast the fall of the dollar and the rise in price of gold and oil years in advance, who last week spoke of a "global food crisis" which will cause the world to enter into, "A period of food shortages and swiftly rising prices," leading to government embargoes.
With the U.S. on the verge of a recession and, as many analysts have warned, a potential second great depression, those long scoffed at for hoarding vast quantities of storable food may unfortunately be able to say "I told you so" if the dollar continues to deteriorate and people begin to be priced out of the food market.
Global food prices have skyrocketed by as much as 60 per cent in the past year, while UN officials warn of the likelihood of food riots.
"If prices continue to rise, I would not be surprised if we began to see food riots,” said Jacques Diouf, director-general of the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organisation, last October.
Many see the food shortages, whether real or manufactured, as simply another pretext for the implementation of martial law and the introduction of foreign troops to patrol major U.S. cities.
A recent announcement by Northcom confirmed that U.S. and Canadian troops will be allowed to patrol each other’s countries in the event of a national emergency.
"U.S. Air Force Gen. Gene Renuart, commander of North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, and Canadian Air Force Lt.-Gen. Marc Dumais, commander of Canada Command, have signed a Civil Assistance Plan that allows the military from one nation to support the armed forces of the other nation during a civil emergency," reads a Northcom press release.

Trust God and keep your powder dry. Those who do try and stock up on freeze dried food will most likely a) have it “appropriated” by UN troops, or b) have it stolen by thugs with guns. If you plan to spend thousands on storable food you must also spend on guns and lots of ammo, and be willing to kill to keep your food. I agree with Rudy. I will be scared to hoard food if my next door neighboor has none. Also I could not live a life of being full knowing my family, friends and others are starving. We do not live in this world alone. We all need to cognizant that what happens to the guy or the girl across the street from us or down the block is happening to us. no matter how prepared we are. Yes, commodity prices have shot thru the roof in recent months. That’s scary because it means speculators expect either a major shortfall of supplies or a major depreciation of the dollar IN THE NEAR TERM. Either way, these increases in the price of wheat, corn, sugar, etc., are going to drive food prices way the f--- up — but (most) Americans will not starve. They will have to divert discretionary income to cover food costs. Of course, that will be very recessionary which is more bad news for the economies of the US (except the agricultural areas) and China.

I have caches of food and weapons to get after the jackboots arrive.I have animals for food, and am trying to get my family to do the same. I know I can’t beat them all, but I also know how to fight out of the lime light. Hate to burst anyone’s imaginary bubble but 40K right now is NOT middle class… 40K is just above poverty… With average rent at 1000K a month.. and then add $500 utilities, $300+/Month to drive a car $500/month groceries and then $500/mo for health ins and health bills hmmm…. now I’ve got about $500 a month left for EVERYTHING Else…. Bill Cooper knew the game plan, even though he didn’t know the actual game day. He had studied gov’t and institutional documents for long enough to forsee this. He predicted all this in the mid 90’s. He said that for some reason our troops will be out of the country and foreign troops will be called in to keep the peace, which he said will be door to door gun confiscation and more. Think it’s foolish to store food? I bet you don’t plan of having a house fire, but you have fire insurance anyway. Storing food is the prudent thing to do. If your neighbor has none, give them some help, but not what you are going to eat. Don’t take food out of your family’s mouthes. Charity starts at home. Don’t worry about those that scoff at you and call you names at this point. They will be the ones starving to death later. The joke will be on them. The story of Noah is a great example of the typical lemmings going off the cliff. Lots of yuks at Noah for the 100 years he was working to save his family. Weren’t many laughing a week after it began to rain, however. I’d rather take a bullet to the head on a full stomach than starve to death.

I remember once we had a weather forecast of a real bad blizzard and I got the idea to go shopping for some food supplies, enough to last a few days to a week. When I arrived at the store the shelves were almost bare. No milk, no bread….. all the good stuff was gone.
That little experience let me see how suddenly things can happen. I don’t think food shortages will come in gradient steps. No food, and that put’s us in a real bad spot to resist martial law.

This is exactly why self subsistence is so damn important. So many people have lost the simple skills to survive in today’s world, completely manufactured of course. You ask someone about growing seasons or long term storage of meat and the usual answer is something about Slave Mart.
Also, notice how there is not a shortage of FOOD, but a shortage of funds. The food is there, but as usual the UN needs MORE MONEY! Surprise, Surprise. Good luck to all of those who are not prepared for this coming “apocalypse.”

I grew up teaching myself Halen, Rush, Maiden, Priest, Yngwie, Satriani, Classical, Triumph, Zep, Floyd, and a slew of other s---. I love music. I am currently trying to make a CD. I got some good results so far. But i’m sure your aware how difficult it is to make something good.
It’s alot more work than I thought! But the more I f--- with it, the better it gets. Seems to come down to time, and trial and error. Good gear definately helps though. I don’t like having to do all the work myself. I wish I was is a big studio with producers and s---. Oh well. I just do the best with what I have.

anyway, I have noticed a significant decline in food production in britain, especially live stock, even noting a depressing documentary on this issue.
farmers are not paid any more for set-a-side, to prevent ‘food mountains’ which obviously dont exist anymore, they are paid to keep the hedgerows and pathways nice and tidy, I can only think is for the yanks playground, oh dear!
I’ve seen many issues with sheep, cows, poultry over the past 10 years and wondered up until they discovered the recent ‘drain’ leaks whether this was just bad luck.
I’ve heard of farmers in Wales (still in Britain), pouring their milk down the drain rather than selling it to the supermarkets,due to the poor price offered in a ‘competitive’ market.
Then there was the fox hunting, how much time, money, press and parliament time wasted for legislation that changed little.
The majority of ‘farming’ seems to be mass produced and people still love it. What the eye does not see the heart does not feel, check out the Tesco 1.99 chicken.
I see a crazy world where, in Britain, we import coal, at the same time exporting locally mined coal, if only we could eat it…

I’m pleased with my SURE mics. Cheap, but ok quality. Mother, as “different” as you are, I imagine it works really well with creating music.
Recording time is costly. Even professionals have to pay back for the studio time. The relationship between the engineer and the musicians is often tedious. When the red light is on, you don’t want to be thinking about money, or anything else except grooving to the tune. You have to learn to let go, and just jam it with feeling. That’s how to translate it to tape best, so the listener can feel it too. It’s quite a balancing act.

Musicians without prior studio experience, will usually be disenchanted. The studio is not some magic thing that makes you sound good. Because of current availability, I would recommend to any intermediate or beginner musician to buy their own recording medium, and spend a few years practicing recording at home, before dumping the big bucks into a pro studio. And when they’re ready, just do one song, and see how you like the results. The engineer has EVERYTHING to do with the quality of the product.

Preacher, Jesus Christ is the SON of God, not God. If he is God, then who was he talking to when he prayed? When he was on the cross/stake, he asked forgiveness for his enemies. From who was he asking forgiveness? Into whose hands did he commit his spirit? At whose right hand is he?
In the garden of Gethsemane, he prayed, “Not my will, but Thine be done”. If Jesus is indeed God, why would he and Jehovah have two different wills?

In 1986 i was a fire fighter in Aurora Ohio, I also was a medic and ran rescue squad.
i was at the corner saloon, comonly refeered to as the VFW. My mom was there cooking and my aunt rose was playing cards.
suddenly my aunt rose stood up and said i cant breath and then passed out. Good thing i was there, i rushed over and did a quick triage and realized she wasnt breathing and had no pulse.
I started CPR and was assisted by a nurse there at the time.
we revived my aunt after 6 minutes. she was dead for 6 minutes.
on the way to the hospital i asked her, did you see anything.
SHE SAID NO, IT ALL WENT BLACK AND THEN SHE WOKE UP.
She stopped attending church after that, she said there is nothing there but death.

Heck! I love tomatos! but those suckers got to be to much for the amount I like to purchase. So I dug out a small garden area in my backyard and grew my own! nothing like the taste of a home grown tomato. Same with the herbs. All free now! all I want even extra to can. Going to grow heirlooms this year and learn how to preserve the seeds.

It looks as if all of us will one day get to share in the same types of suffering, that the U.N. previously imposed, on Nations such as Iraq. This information on Iraq, was long before the present war, where the U.S. and those behind the scenes who instruct us, have imposed even more suffering. The beginning of this will take place in 2010, when the North American Union takes place. This will take place with Obama, McCain, Billary, and probably Nader. This is the main reason that millions wanted Ron Paul to somehow get in office. He it is believed would fight, to keep us out of the North American Union. The United Nations Sanctions on Iraq

The UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) reported in September 1995 that:
“Famine threatens four million people in sanctions-hit Iraq – one fifth of the population – following a poor grain harvest… The human situation is deteriorating. Living conditions are precarious and are at pre-famine level for at least four million people… The deterioration in nutritional status of children is reflected in the significant increase of child mortality, which has risen nearly fivefold since 1990.”[19]
The World Health Organization (WHO) observed in March 1996 that: “Since the onset of sanctions, there has been a six-fold increase in the mortality rate for children under five and the majority of the country’s population has been on a semi-starvation diet.”[20] The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) reported in the same year that: “4,500 children under the age of 5 are dying each month from hunger and disease… The situation is disastrous for children. Many are living on the margin of survival.”[21] A year later in April 1997, UNICEF in association with the UN’s World Food Programme (WFP), reported that: “One out of every 4 Iraqi infants is malnourished… Chronic malnutrition among children under five has reached 27.5 per cent. After a child reaches two or three years of age, chronic malnutrition is difficult to reverse and damage on the child’s development is likely to be permanent.”[22] Six months on, UNICEF noted that: “32 percent of children under five, some 960,000 children are chronically malnourished – a rise of 72 per cent since 1991. Almost one quarter… are underweight – twice as high as the levels found in neighbouring Jordan and Turkey.”[23] By April 1998 the situation had deteriorated further:
“The increase in mortality reported in public hospitals for children under five years of age (an excess of some 40,000 deaths yearly compared with 1989) is mainly due to diarrhea, pneumonia and malnutrition. In those over five years of age, the increase (an excess of some 50,000 deaths yearly compared with 1989) is associated with heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, cancer, liver or kidney diseases.”
Approximately 250 people die every day in Iraq due to the effect of the sanctions, the UNICEF report added.[24]

I doubt guns will matter as your rifle will do squat against an army vehicle or fully armored troops. those rioting will be taken down so best bet is to have a hidden storage for supplies. those resisting will go to the camps. According to what I have read – the Bees have been dying because of the GMF or otherwise known as the Genetically Modified Foods/I call them the Frankenstein Foods (Yuck no flavor or taste) The Americans for pure greed altered the natural food system/process and now mother nature is responding in kind. The DEAD BEES should be a warning sign of things to come with the whole global food economy and people will now starve – Forget the seed vault in Norway or wherever it is at. Those seeds are the same destructive seeds the Americans have been selling in the world marketplace.
Best to invest in your own garden while you still can — DO NOT BE DECEIVED people will now have chronic hunger. We here in Eastern Europe have experienced this. Population in America has always had what it wants, where it wants, and how they want it.

I know that when they went to pass the Brady Bill, they tagged along one that stated that you can’t have more than one year supply of food, I thought that was a strange one, as it had nothing to do with guns but that’s the way it works, why don’t they enforce it? is it still in affect? I’m not sure, I just know that back in the early 90s it was in affect, and this is the time that it would make sense for them to use it and go into Martial Law.

As far as Mike and Shaun, you two should check out some of the propaganda films that they use to show us in school back in the 60s about bread lines, this story is NOT that far off. The word exponentially means rapidly becoming greater in size and it refers to the price, I think that supply(being low) and demand (being the most important thing that we need for life) and I think that anyone that goes out and buys to much food because of Alex Jones has nothing to worry about. But anyone that listens to FOX News acually thinks Ron Paul is a Kook, and thinks there’s no NAFT Highway plan, and doesn’t know that there isn’t Free speach everywhere but “Free speach Zones” and about a million ather things that Corporate America doesn’t want you to hear. I do understand where you both are coming from, so don’t take it wrong, I think the end justifies the means in which the story is told.
