Missouri Apologizes to Paul, Barr & Baldwin Over MIAC Report

The uproar that ensued as a result of our original story about a document issued by the Missouri Information Analysis Center which smeared third party supporters as potential domestic terrorists has forced the Missouri Department of Public Safety to issue an apology to Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin and Bob Barr. However, references to people who are anti-abortion, anti-gun control, knowledgeable about the Constitution and even those who simply display political bumper stickers will remain.
As we revealed in our exclusive report two weeks ago, a leaked secret report distributed by the federal Missouri Information Analysis Center lists Ron Paul supporters, libertarians, people who display bumper stickers, people who own gold, or even people who fly a U.S. flag and equates them with radical race hate groups and terrorists.
The MIAC report specifically describes supporters of presidential candidates Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, and Bob Barr as “militia” influenced terrorists and instructs the Missouri police to be on the lookout for supporters displaying bumper stickers and other paraphernalia associated with the Constitutional, Campaign for Liberty, and Libertarian parties.
The MIAC report (PDF) does not concentrate on Muslim terrorists, but rather on the so-called “militia movement” and conflates it with supporters of Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, Bob Barr, the so-called patriot movement and other political activist organizations opposed to the North American Union and the New World Order.
Even after an uproar ensued as a result of widespread media coverage of the report, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon had the temerity to stand behind the document despite its blatantly erroneous content and blasé defamation.

“Portions of that report may be easily construed by readers as offensive to supporters of certain political candidates or to those candidates themselves,” Department of Public Safety Director John Britt wrote in his apology letter (PDF) to Paul, Barr and Baldwin. “I regret that those comments were ultimately included in the final report issued by the MIAC.”
“Unfortunately, in the course of preparing this report, some regrettable information was included in the report on militia groups in Missouri,” Britt wrote. “While the intent of the report was only to identify certain traits that are sometimes shared by members of militia organizations, this report is too easily misinterpreted as suggesting that militia members may be identified by no other indicator than support for a particular candidate or political organization.”
“I have ordered that the offending report be edited to excise all reference to Ron Paul, Bob Barr or Chuck Baldwin,” the letter concludes, without a promise to retract the report altogether, much to the chagrin of the multitude of other banal groups demonized as potential domestic terrorists.
Missourians United For Life, an anti-abortion group, has filed a complaint with the American Civil Liberties Union against Governor Nixon following his public support of the document.
“What Governor Nixon is telling Missourians is if you disagree with him on the issue of life or display a pro-life bumper sticker or wear a pro-life pin, you may subjected to action by state law enforcement or your personal information might be sent to a law enforcement analysis center,” said Ed Martin, President of Missourians United for Life. “This is a clear violation of Missourians civil rights. The only intent of such a report by Nixon’s Administration is to harass and intimidate the governor’s perceived political enemies and chill speech and open debate by those who disagree with Jay Nixon on public policy.”
State Rep. Shane Schoeller of Willard added his criticism to the furore, stating, “I don’t want to evolve into a society where people are watched just because they’re out participating in some freedom of speech activity.”
The fact that the bulk of the report, which equates pro-life groups, political activists and people knowledgeable about the Constitution with domestic terrorists like Timothy McVeigh and Eric Rudolph, will not be redacted, proves that the battle is not over.
Outrage over the wholesale defamation of some of the most patriotic and informed groups of American citizens and attempts to educate police that they should be treated as an “enemy” should not subside just because the state has issued a meek apology to Paul, Barr and Baldwin alone.
The entire report needs to be repudiated in order to create a precedent that educating police with this kind of garbage is an insult to the very oath that they swore by in the first place.

if we the people would just reclaim our “sovereign citizenship” things of this nature could never happen, because as is stands as of right now if you have not reclaimed your “sovereign citizenship” you have no rights no declaration of independence rights, amendment rights, or any other right for that matter, THIS IS FACT that has been proven in the courts time after time,the only thing you have is 14th amendment privileges which can be given or taken at any time by the grantee.

Suspend them immediately, do thorough investigations, arrest people for crimes against Constitution. Let the state legislative branch vote for all new representatives to send to DC. Then they can cut all funding to executive branch and have them arrested. New legislative branch nominates new candidates for president. The candidates must come from new state supported legislative branch. We vote, electoral college does their thing. No money spent, all speeches from candidates shown on C-SPAN only; takes one week from nomination to election. We vote on paper. Ballots counted locally by randomly selected people. New President selects new Supreme Court. Viola, we have our own country back. We take back the Federal Reserve, return to gold standard. Freeze assets of all the bankers illegally directing US Govt. This lame apology and intent to redact the portions of the report referring to Dr. Paul, Baldwin, Barr, and their respective political parties is not enough. The entire report needs to be withdrawn and a statement circulated to the same agencies that received the initial report advising that the entire report is not be relied upon nor considered in any decision an officer or agency should make in the future.
This is important. It is important because the purpose of the MIAC report was not to provide accurate intelligence, but rather to provide some basis for probable cause for “law enforcement” (”LEO”) to harrass patriots. It would allow LEO’s to conduct unconstitutional search and seizures and make unlawful arrests without the fear of a court punishing them or throwing the evidence (which some LEO will plant) out, thus ruining their trumped-up cases against law abiding citizens.
An apology and minor redaction will accomplish nothing. We have the upper hand right now. Don’t blow it.

So let citizens with good parenting skills make it clear: The MIAC guys need to (1)FULLY apologize, and (2) make up for it by sending out another alert to everyone they sent their first report to reversing and saying something to the effect of “MIAC apologizes for the original report which was irresponsible; it should have never been published. As law enforcement, we need to consciously be alert to parties who disparage the Constitution and we must use our delegated authority to protect and safeguard all person’s Constitutional and God-given right to free speech.”

Most predictable. The state realizes that even the MSM has gotten whiff of this. They are trying to keep it under wraps by having an agency apologize instead of the figurehead. And they are only removing what they feel is absolutely required. They were never sorry and as I recall, RP, BB and CB requested that they submit an addendum to the law enforcement specifying their error?
They want these people quashed because THEY WILL be part of the militia when the states start repudiating the feds and the feds as their masters/agents and cease to recognize their authority. Why do you think we have lists? Think, preemptive strike on a potential threat. They are very aware of this freedom movement, which is all the more reason to be on the offensive!

We apologize that this made it to the final report (first and second drafts perhaps, but never into a final report), not that we ever thought it, explored it, or persist in believing it to be true even to this day. We regret that our internal document was made public and through this accident people became rightly offended, that rather than seeking to promote political diversity and discourse in the land of our fathers and children, we are working to repress it. We are embarrassed that our ‘paramilitary enforcement views of citizens’ are so harshly highlighted against those of normal educated and rightly angry Americans. It is unfortunate that we are unable to conceive of control methods and implement them without undue interference from ‘persons’ with agendas of changing the government.
We wish our report had never been seen and for that we are truly sorry.

That’s exactly what we don’t want. I am expecting at some point for the NWO to start attacking law enforcement officers, like the police that were losing their heads in Mexico. The NWO wants law enforcement to feel like everyone is out to get them, so they will follow orders to be dickheads. Ideally, we want state troopers refusing to go along with the program. If some of them do that, we need to back them up. It happened during Katrina. One sheriff told the feds to go to hell and stay out of his county. If our LEO’s do that, we need to support them in force and/or financially should the NWO cut off their pay.
It reminds me of something that happened in Chicago once. There was a gruesome murder at a Brown’s Chicken where the robbers herded the employees back into the walk-in cooler and executed them. The police finally caught the robbers, after years if I recall correctly. While the robbers were in jail shortly after being arrested, a jail guard passed one of the robbers who was sitting in a chair, or something like that. The guard asked him if he was one of the Brown’s Chicken robbers. The robber gave some smart ass response (like bragging about it), so the guard punched him (a wicked punch from what I heard). The guard was subsequently suspended without pay and faced the possibility of losing his job. Well, a local sports radio broadcaster heard about it and went ballistic on the air. The broadcaster personally paid for the guard’s lost wages while he was on suspension, and rallied the public to support the cop.
The point is, we need to wait and see what state and municipal law enforcement do when push comes to shove. They need to know that we will not sit back and leave them twisting in the wind.

Missouri, has very nice people in the urban area’s; I travel thru that state a lot, I was never uncomfortable there. Now I have a disdain for that State. If this “garbage” A.D.L. scripted document is spread to all 50 states, it will ruin our country and have a chilling effect on freedom of association . It also disenfranchises millions of voters right to pick the president of their choice. Is this is what the country has come to? The third parties and semi-third-party candidates are now supposedly associated with militant groups? I sent out information about this issue to a group of so called “2nd Amendment supporters” and only one answered. He did so, with a message to me trying to let me know that “sometimes” the government monitors key words in email and on cell phones. I explained to him that Echelon has been existent since Clinton’s Administration, and that yes, I was aware of that. But that when a person is labeled a “terror suspect” for talking about the Supreme law of the land, something is truly wrong with so called “law enforcment” agencies.
The majority of Americans who think they are going to be safe by not speaking out, are like the Germans in 1939 who said nothing, because they weren’t being targeted at that particular time.
Unless mainstream Americans begin educating themselves and talking about Articles I through VII of the Constitution (in addition to the Bill of Rights) then we are going to see the end of this Republic. After all, it is really Articles I through VII that contains the methods for maintaining our Republic. (Especially Article VI, Section II, and Article I, Section VIII, clauses fifteen and sixteen)
The majority of Americans being ignorant of Articles I thorugh VIII, is how the usurpers of our government have gotten away with negating the Bill of Rights. Go back to the well, find out what the Articles say, and then let’s follow the Supreme Law of the Land. Life will be much better for the whole world, and we would not need a “New World Order”. We already have a perfect system of government at our fingertips. Our so called “Representatives” simply never choose to either read what they swear to “…preserve, protect, and defend”, or they know it and keep us ignorant of it via our “Independent School” districts.

We’ll have a problem boycotting at least three of these companies. They’re no longer in business. Why would we want to punish Missouri’s entrepreneurs? They’re just as much under pressure as the rest of the country? Rather we should support small business and demand our governor doe his Job and get this document redacted and make the writer make a public apology on all radio staitons and broadcast on all the networks. He should have to stand face to face with the men he wronged and set the matter right. It’s just the right thing to do. If he has ANY integrity he won’t have to wait for the Governor to demand it of him. He’ll take the initiative.

People on all these blogs need to call these FUSION CENTERS and request that they “hook’em up” with the people who may be joining state militias.Ask them if they can share their tax-payer funded “LISTS” to help find like-minded Constitutionalists.Also submit your “LISTS” of all Players in the secret,subversive anti-government’ groups like the TRILATERAL COMMISSION,CFR…etc.
MAKE SURE TO GET LOTS OF BUMPER STICKERS THAT ARE PRO-MILITIA.Make it easy for them to find you so you can get an inside view of the detainee centers and report back.

Well, direct action must be taken, a coordinated effort of harassment and intimidation to remove these elitists from office. Make them be afraid, let them know the there is nothing more American than forming a militia to protect ourselves from an over-zealous federal gov. These state cops, these ptsd zombies need to get in line, they need to remember who they work for. We will not sit idly by while our country becomes a police state, if it starts going that way then there will be trouble. No one is safe, no one is untouchable, there is always a way in.

Governor Nixon embarassed himself and our state when he did not speak out immediately and intensely against this terrible document and publicly denounce the person who wrote it. I hope the author(s) will tender their resignations. The people in Missouri, generally, and I hope our loyal law enforcement folks, know crap when they see it in print or hear it being espoused. True, there are those who take things to the extreme, but there are many more who work within the established constitution to exercise our rights, speak to our representatives, help to construct new laws and modify those that aren’t working. The fact that the entire document was not redacted is a disgrace.
For the most part we have wonderful law enforcement people here who just want to do what they do best, serve their fellow citizens and help preserve a peaceful and safe environement for everyone concerned. I know many of them and they’re not out to tread on any one’s constitutional rights because they value those same rights for themselves. They want the ability to speak when things are not right and they want a voice in promoting positive change. Strong opinion and affiliation with any one of these parties doesn’t make one a “terrorist” or a “militant,” and certainly education in our Constitution can’t, because we educate all school children about the Constitution. American Government still is, I believe, a required course for every graduate. Because we education them on the Constitution “giving them knowledge of it,” expecting them to remember it and recite it, does that mean that our schools are training militants and terrorists? That’s absurd!
The state of Missouri owes these men an apology, a heartfelt one. As a Missourian I’m going to be one voice in I hope many that come to this site to say, “We’re sorry. Their paranoia is run amuck and we hope you don’t think badly of ALL Missourians because of these misguided few.”
