these arent just cctv cameras, they are often funded by DHS (in my district), and have an Internet VoIP connection for direct feeds to government agencies . . . . . .
This is unacceptable. If a person goes to a public place of their own free will such as a store etc.. and they have camera’s. The adult can make the decision on if they want to frequent or be part of this environment. However, when placing camera’s in public schools such is not the same. The schools is over riding any parental consent or parental rights by dictating that their child has no choice in the matter other than to be video taped and tracked on the property. This makes it mandatory and as such should not be allowed. There is no way for a parent to opt out of such a scenario except to place their child in a school that doesn’t participate.
This is plain wrong in my view and should be eliminated. Parents should not allow their school districts to impose video monitoring / surveillance of any part of public school properties. Adolescents should not be taped or monitored for any reason unless expressly consented by the parent. In which case I would not think much of the parent.
They are already in the schools in the small town where I live and I find these cameras offensive.
I am getting ready for next year to homeschool my high school son because of these snoop cameras and the fact that they are ram rodding ramdom drug testing down the students throats and the parents throats too. My son has nothing to hide but I deeply resent such nosy, intrusive measures and he has expressed a strong desire to NOT go back to school next year. I will do nothing to change his mind and am in the process of getting ready to homeschool him next year.
I am encouraging him to stay and finish out this school year since he is about halfway thru it, but next year will be a different story.

“who cares let them watch they cant see everything all the time”
And exactly what reasoning do they have to see everything all the time?
What gives them the rights to see everything all the time? Are they the creator?
A parent cannot monitor their child 24/7, but you feel it’s okay for a school
district who consumes the majority of the tax benefit to replace parenting
and parenting rights with with cameras and recorders? It doesn’t work that
way. What you see here is the school and political system doing as they wish.
It’s the tax payers job, the parents job, to see this kind of monitoring does not happen.
There is no reason whatsoever for this and it should be outlawed. Schools did fine
for hundreds of years without having digital technology penetrating ones every move.
Another thought on the matter is that it violates ones religious beliefs for those that
don’t take pictures or believe in producing images. There are many that don’t have, or
have not had their pictures on drivers licenses and/or other personal identification
due to such beliefs and this would be in direct violation to the scripture.
This is not an arguable matter,
Cameras in schools should not exist. Period. Not in a place where one cannot simply choose to not be part of it. If I lived in a district that posed such an issue within the schools, I would be fighting with the schools system and not paying taxes to it whether I had a child enrolled in that district or not.
Parents and tax payers are idiots for allowing this.
won’t do a damn bit of good. Look what has happened at all the recent school shootings: swarms of thugs show up with assault rifles only to stand outside and let one kid shoot up the entire classroom. Jus Blastem!
I like the dissolve to 5 second CU of the anchor before the package.
Anyway, when will they start putting vertical iron bars in place of wooden classroom doors? Then it will have a true prison feel. They can throw slop on some plates, slide it through the opening, and call that lunch time.
Many of these schools that are watching your every move have strict rules saying no student is allowed to take any photo on school grounds. No camara phones allowd.
They do not want the faculty being compromised.
I agree with Stephen O’Neal. I find it quite disgusting that they have such heavy surveillance at a school. They won’t even let people inside before talking to the staff? It’s a school, not a prison!
Ah, people say the dumbest things. I remember a guy being interviewed by one of the cable news organizations back in 1999, just before New Year’s Eve. He made the statement that he had his gas masks all ready to go in case there was a nuclear explosion. Think about it….DUH!!
Now, the principle (I believe) makes a statement akin to the gas mask/nuclear explosion statement. So, we are to understand that because they’ve had bomb threats in the past, cameras will stop future threats? Think about it……DUH!!!
Cameras are not a deterrent. They don’t keep us safe. In fact, their only purpose is to capture the images of the people already committing the crime. They only give up their secrets after the police arrive to clean up the mess.

my last comment lost half it’s text..trying again!
Your comment reminded me about a PBS program special that was on my local PBS station (WHYY in Phil) a few years ago. I don’t recall the name of the PBS program special because I was channel surfing when I happen to catch the last 15 minutes of the program.
The PBS program special was a moderated round table discussion group about Schools / High Schools security measures thats been put in place, the group also had 2 LEO’s. There was this one moment during that show that I never forgot and to this day still sticks in the back of my head. That moment was when the moderator asked a female 16 year old High School student (not part of the round table group) if she had any questons about all the great security measures put in place to make her and her fellow school mates safer.
The 16 year old wasn’t one bit happy. Instead of asking the discussion group a queston she was moving her head back & forth sideways in disgust and simply stated this comment to the round table discussion group………….
“Yous are not making us (school students) safer, yous are making schools more dangerous!…….Yous are turning our schools into prisons, when yous make schools act like prisons then the school students will be acting up just like prisoners, dangerous prisoners, just like in real prisons!”
Wish I had a video of that to share, because the way she said it I said… WOW!
We had this stuff at my school too…No big deal. Stopped a lot of people from stealing things, and got a lot of people caught doing illegal things (like trying to start a fire in a trash can). “Big Brother” is not watching. People outraged by this must be pretty out of the loop. This is not new to schools at all. This definitely makes schools safer. People dont do illegal things if they think they are going to get caught, and with cameras watching halls, parking lots, entrances..cafeterias…you have a pretty good chance of getting caught doing whatever you planned on doing, so you don’t. And Becca…that only sounds bad if you are a kid going to that school. In the big picture, its not a big deal at all, and it teaches kids to be responsible for their own actions. They only get privileges taken away if they do something bad…Kids NEED to learn to be responsible for their own actions.
Has anyone noted the fact that when the organized criminals are caught on cameras doing their ‘thing’ the tapes cant seem to be found or are contaminated somehow? Are there cameras in the teachers lounge? In the vice principals office? Sadly, by the time these people reach the secondary school level they love all the attention. The majority see no problem in the fish bowl matrix being built up around us as I type. After all we are told if you aren’t doing something wrong what are you afraid of? Get wise to the fact that teachers with rare exception are second only to police in being brainwashed sociopaths. Enjoy your xmas sweets and pass the ammunition
If control-freak politicians are that eager to turn their beloved indoctrination centers into virtual prisons, then they should be made to repeal compulsory attendance laws.
wow. security cameras in schools. are you serious. look dude first off if you go to google earth, that pretty much shows they got a camera on the whole globe. second, there are many shootings and gang violence amongst this peticular age group so , good, great i hope they implement this all over the place. but bottom line if you really want to get into it, if you really study the science of these aristocratic illuminated ones, they got it on lock. you can not and will not thwart them from their agenda i hate to say it , but its true. so look out for numero uno (yourself) appreciate God’s beauty, and your relationships with friends and family. and maybe take up some yoga because soon youll have to put your head between your leg’s and kiss your ass goodbye.
