Country music icon says just $1 billion out of $700 billion could get real economy back on track

Country music icon Willie Nelson has a message for Hank Paulson and Ben Bernanke in the wake of the recent $700 billion dollar plus Wall Street bailout – how about a bailout for the desperate and struggling family farmers of America that are nearing extinction?
“I have written a letter as president of Farm Aid to whoever controls that money that we would like to have $1 billion dollars from that 700….$1 billion dollars is I think all we’ll need to turn the economy around if we start out taking care of our family farmers,” Nelson told The Alex Jones Show.
“We could put 10 million farmers back on the land, making a living out there raising food and fuel….and that $1 billion dollars I think would go a long way to changing our negative attitudes that we have and the confidence in ourselves and in our country right now,” said Nelson, adding that all foreclosures on farms should be halted immediately.
“I think that if we invested that $1 billion with our family farmers, we would begin to turn it around,” stressed the country music star, later joking that $100 billion would be an even better amount.
Nelson has been a multi-decade activist and vocal proponent for Farm Aid, and recently performed alongside Neil Young at the highly successful 2008 Farm Aid concert which was held at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA, having helped organize the first Farm Aid concert in 1985.
(ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW)
Farm Aid is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to keep family farmers on their land and support locally sourced, humanely-raised and organic food in the face of a gargantuan attempt on behalf of big agribusiness to squeeze the family farmer out of existence.
The letter that Nelson and fellow Farm Aid directors John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews sent to Congress points out, “When farms thrive, Main Street businesses and local communities thrive. Far from Wall Street, family farmers are creating real wealth, producing real value, growing from seeds and sunlight a product that nourishes us both physically and economically. Supporting diverse decentralized family farming will do far more for the stability and vitality of our country than a handful of global agribusiness corporations could ever do.”
“The proposed $700 billion bailout asks taxpayers to foot the bill without giving them the opportunity to share in any gains. A $1 billion investment in family farm agriculture would enrich us all, because we are all shareholders of the family farm. The return on investment in the family farm includes thriving local economies, nutritious food for better health, a safer and more secure food supply, a cleaner environment and more renewable energy.”
Nelson pointed out that when 8-10 million family farmers were on the land in America at the end of the second world war the economy was strong because, “Agriculture is the bottom rung on the economic ladder,” adding that the farmers became a target because they were a political problem.
“Let’s put out the fire now, we’ll figure out who started it later and that’s pretty much what we have to do, we have to stop the fire and stop the bleeding, and I think the best way to do that is still from the ground up, go back to our family farmer, he’s the one that started taking care of us in the beginning so let’s let him do it again,” Nelson concluded.

The farms are next on the agenda. Presently I do not know how long the scam can go on. The day of the “family farmer” went away in the late 1970/80s in the US. What survived are farmers who literally borrow year to year teetering on the next gamble, which is supplemented by insurance company support..(i referr to this as “insurance farming” where you have to make a reasonable effort to farm.. but if your crop expectation comes up short or fails.. the “Insurer” steps in and pays the difference or expected amount at a percentage of what you possibly would have made…
In summary,, the farmers have played into the banks and insurance companies which are kust another finacial institution…
The Corps will take them next.. chemical farming and all… Seed are becoming more “patented” and all it would take is one lawsuite to wipe out a farmer..
Research GMO seed

P.S. when Rothschild spoke of “controlling the money” the people of his day basically all provided their own food as then and in the US up intil around the 1920’s we were an ararian society. The avaerage rural dweller did not suffer from lackof food during the so called “great depression”.. they were accustomed to providing for themselves and the seed of that era could be reused season after season through selective process by which you chose the best seeds from a previous year to use to plant the following year.. that is a are option since most seed are now “hybrid” which cannot guarantee reprodcution or GM which are no better than hybrid but could end up having a far worse effect on human health over time.

We NEED FOOD!!
And so does the world. We have more farm land than any other country and this could be a great investment for the world.
I support Willie and the Farmers 100%!!!

Hell, I am a farmer/rancher. But fuzzy math? A Billion is a 1000 million. Ergo, a million farmers a thousnd each, doesn’t go far. The only way we make it is, the land is paid for, and I work outside jobs.
Love uncle Willie anyway. Also, I voted early, wrote in Ron Paul and voted for no incumbants.

I can hear Bush et al reading this one and going, “Hahahahahahahaha. That’s a good one WIllie. Great idea, but that doesn’ tquite fit into our getridofallthesmalltimefarmers plan. Hahaahhaahah. Help the farmers! We’re trying to GET RID OF THE FARMERS!”
C’mon fellow ants – let the anger grow – don’t let these grasshoppers get a free ride.

How about giving some bail-out to the ex-middle class that are flying signs for food and living in their cars if they’re lucky. How about a bail out for food banks and soup lines.

i am a farmer and it has been a difficult game the past 30 years. it’s kind of funny how farms started to go under left and right about the time the US went off the gold standard(1971). inflation has been a huge pain in the ass and guess who’s behind inflation? THE FEDERAL RESERVE

Will “Lean Years” Lead to Communism?
October 19, 2008
by Henry Makow Ph.D.
Right on schedule, the politician-puppets are promising to save us from the crisis caused by the banker-puppets by creating “a new world financial order.”
Nicholas Sarkozy and Gordon Brown are calling for a “new international financial architecture for the global age” which will establish Rothschild global governance under the guise of “reforming and regulating” markets.
In a recent article “The Joseph Principle and Crisis Economics,” Carl Teichrib, a young Manitoba researcher-farmer says the manipulation of calamities to re-make society can be traced back to Biblical times. Joseph, one of the first Court Jews, is best known for predicting seven years of abundance (inflation) followed by seven years of famine (credit- contraction or deflation.)
He is less well known for using this “business cycle” to establish a form of Communism. All the cultivated land in Egypt became the property of the crown, and the people farmed it for the king, giving him one-fifth of the produce.
Teichrib, a devout Christian, writes:
“In Genesis 47, Joseph, second in command to Egypt’s Pharaoh, warned of a coming famine, and prepared stock-piles of grain to aid the people through the crisis. When the famine hit the land, the people came to Joseph to buy food stock. A simple transaction was made; the citizens used the national currency to purchase grain.
“In verses 14 and 15 we find an unusual development. After the grain was purchased, Joseph intentionally holds the money back, keeping it from being re-circulated into the local economy. The result is predictably catastrophic for the people: Economic crisis.
“According to the King James Version, “the money failed” (vs.15), and in the New International Version it says that the “money is used up.” Egypt experienced intentional, government-sponsored deflation in the midst of a natural calamity. The money collapsed.
“Needing to eat, what did the citizens do? They brought Joseph their livestock in exchange for grain (vs.16-17). As an agrarian society, livestock represented the industrial basis of the people. Hence, placing this power in the hands of the government, the people’s commercial activity was effectively abolished.
“In relating this series of events to others, some have asked me; “Why didn’t the people just eat the animals instead of trading them for grain?”
“Refrigeration didn’t exist. And while the people could have dried some of the meat for long-term use, grain would have been the most valuable and stable food source during a drought. Now the people had neither money nor livestock; and a year later they were out of food.
“Returning to Joseph, who obviously was in charge of the storehouses, the people begged their leader to take their land and themselves in trade for food (vs.18-19). Property was therefore consolidated under the state, and the citizens literally became slaves in their own country (vs.20-21). In the King James Version the language goes even further: Joseph depopulates the rural areas and moves the people into the cities.

Hi everyone, I was reading the arguments brought up in the posts when i read post#15, I was quite impressed w/ the solid rational points this individual brings to light! A true history buff full of factual and intelligent statements…a real asset to the debate!! Expropriation of farmers by their government is a good place to start one’s research about the history of family farms in America.
October 24th, 2008 at 4:22 am
Helping economy is not what they are after.
Banks don need money wright now, they want your land, homes.
Land is the most valuable currency in the world!
I bet that most profitable people are using this crisis to take over banks and unpayed loans for houses to take over peoples land for a dollar.
Who owns the land owns everything.
Thats why gold is going down. Gold is mostly international trade currency but if you own land, then you own people that lives on it!
Normal way of buying immobilities would take millions of dollars, but bank by lending money that actually doesnt have and taking unpayed property is actually buying this property for money that didnt existed in first place, with loan-takers as a middlemen.
Just think about it.
On land you can build shelter and plant flood and sell it for any amount of gold that will come to your mind and starving man without shelter but with gold will eventually agree to this.
They already got enough gold to initialize international trade after putting amero into spin, now they are going after land!
October 24th, 2008 at 6:46 am
willy is a great guy but doesn’t really get it..these people in charge of the world have no desire what so ever of fixing anything..if they came up with a pill to heal all sickness they would never release it to the public..they don’t want flouride and chlorine out of the water or the gmo food to go away either because it would help people..they want oil over 100 bucks a barrel also..so they are for sure not going to give a billion to any economy..sorry willie, good intent but its not going to happen unless enough people wake up to the new conciousness..:-)
October 24th, 2008 at 6:50 am
if you really think about it no one is responsible for our food and our water but ourselves..put a well in and start your own garden for most of your food needs.. modify your diet so you don’t need as many different foods to eat..the perfect food for humans is organic fruits and veggies anyways..the high protien diet will put you in your grave before your time..seperate yourselves from the insanes the best you can..:-)

Feed, fuel and fertilizer. They still have us by the short hairs. Was a time even if you were just a small mom and pop. You could raise a few chickens or rabbits or what ever and then cull the flock and sell some of the excess to your neighbors or down at the local country store.
The government has so regulated what a small farmer can do to generate income that it has virtually become impossible to even feed your family without working away from the farm. Why? Because you still have to buy feed, fuel and fertilizer (not to mention medicines) to run the farm. By passing laws that make it illegal to sell raw milk (even though most country folk love it) and other butchered items from your farm it is virtually impossible to make a living on the farm.
At the same time, just as with anything else that comes out of Washington, the big boys with the money have laws passed that give them an unfair advantage over you and I.
Can anyone name an activity that our masters have taken that has benifited anyone but the rich?
Our educational system (compared to the rich) sucks compared to other nations. Our health sucks compared to other “civilized” society. We have the highest infant mortality rate in the world. We imprison vastly more people than even communist China. We have Many people hungry and starving in the streets. And it’s getting worse. Our government (at all levels) has learned to prey upon us and has become the largest predator to threaten our existance.
As much as I in my heart wish there was a chance of some “fantasy” bail out for we the people I also know within my heart that it can never be. Even if there was the thieves we have allowed to take hold of the reigns of this country would only steal it from us again. No, my fellow Americans, there’s only one path left to us at this point. I think we all know what it is.
October 24th, 2008 at 7:53 am
Grow your own food!!!!
October 24th, 2008 at 8:17 am
I would also like to clear up a couple of other things. I live in the mountains. I know what it takes to survive without electricity, running water, insulation in the walls of the “cabin” in the 10 degree winter” and grow food in the garden, hunt and kill game for food etc. etc.
For those of you who live in the city and haven’t had to do those things. Here’s a clue. You don’t just walk out the door of your apartment and say well today I’ll live off the land. You’ll be dead within six months. Probably starved to death. The reason? You don’t “just do these things” It takes money for equipment (even if it’s only a shovel) and experience. I’ll give you an example.
You leave your house let’s say late summer. Uh Oh. You cannot even think about growing food for about another six months. Then you have to let it grow to mature harvest. Ooops. If you don’t know how to forage or beg from the neighbors then your out of luck in the food department for about eight months.
“Just put in a well” you say? Well first you have to get the governments permission and pay them for a permit and then find someone to drill it. It runs about three thousand dollars for a drilled well.
Hmmmm. Unless your loaded it looks like your out luck in the water department as well. Or you could spend three months with a shovel, like I did, and dig a “hand dug” well like I did. But do you know where to dig it? Think you’ll just drink from the creek. If your body is not used to it you better have plenty of toilet paper with you. Your gonna need it.
That’s just a couple of the many miriad examples of the challenges of living “in the country”. I spent five years getting my family accoustomed to living with out money, television, telephone, electricity, running water, heat that doesn’t come from wood. No stove, refridgerator or washing machines or dryers. And then we did it for two years. Take my word for it. You won’t “just” move out to the country in an emergency situation. It’s hard work. It’s survival. And in the country you compete with the animals for your food and mother nature for your survival.
Try it. And then after the first fall of getting up every half hour to run the deer away from your garden or to throw wood in the stove all night every night for about three, four months let me know how you like it. Me? I love it. And when the fight comes I’ll stay here in my environment and do the best I can to make sure the other fellows die for what they believe in just as I would die what I love and believe in. It’s the American way!
Oh, and you “city slickers”. Instead of moving out of your environment and have to face the challenge of (country) survival in addition to survival from your enemy you might want to start developing strategies that work for you where youre at. By doing so you have half the battle won. And your effectivness toward regaining your country will be amplified many times over.
October 24th, 2008 at 9:00 am
It is as simple as this!! The new world order globalist will eventually own all the farms and all the land and just like that dislexic (sp) was saying almost 8 years ago, “”All your base is ours!” That means that these luciferic devils want to own us and take all of our land and money and the little wealth that we still have!! And only the Great God of Heaven will defeat them!!
October 24th, 2008 at 9:21 am
You will get not one penny from the bail out, or the government. You are not in the “club”. The only club you will be a part of is the big club they beat you with for not complying.
It is our own fault for not standing up and fighting back. Either by pen or sword.
God will not save you from them, for there is only your actions or non-actions that determine where we end up as a nation. Nothing more, nothing less.
If you decide, as you have, to do nothing then nothing shall be done and you will end up homeless on the continent your forefathers found and conquered.
Letters to Washington District of Criminals fall on deaf ears and blind eyes. You haven’t figured that out yet????
Stand and fight or sit and be slaves and die. That is the only choice.
October 24th, 2008 at 9:27 am
I’m up to here with this BS about ANYONE TAKING MY LAND AND MAKING ME A SLAVE. If that happens it will be because I have been killed fighting the bastards that are stealing from me. I’ll be sorely dissappointed if there aren’t millions just like me.

All the internal Governmental Agencies better get their s--- together and fast, for if they impede the Militia of the people from protecting the first(shouldnt it be ALL THE CONSTITUTION AND BILL OF RIGHTS WITH FORCE?????????????????????????), that is the reason we have come to this place, because WE DID NOT INFORCE THINGS BACK TO THE WAY OF LAW YEARS AGO, we gave it a chance, two many ‘chances’ chancers.
The courts are going to fight for this, that would mean the entire police sate structure would be in peril.
If the courts do decide to upload the Constitution, the NWO is not just going to give up, they will press on, there will be a battle, they are not going to stop.
Unless they can be taken over from within the government. That has been under way for some time now, to re infiltrate the infiltrated. We are coming down to the wire. Its much like waiting on the radio, to see if the other squadron has made it in time, made it out! Accomplished the objective. The waiting, knowing an air lift is coming at 21:00 hours.
Coming down to the wire.
Prepare.
Just in case they dont make it out on time. Or fail in their mission.
Get on the move, the time is now.

Support the concert , and promotions. Willy’s done so much in support of our American Family farmers over the years. People that write long comments need to start using paragraphs. I pass over and do not even attempt to read any comments that are more than 4 lines with no paragraph spaces. No matter how good your statement may be I will just go to the next comment. Learn to write the correct way.
Same goes for any religious statements. As soon as you start quoting scripture, you lost me as a reader. I do not care if you are religious or not, try to write comments that would appeal to everyone or else you are just talking to a percentage of the people reading, instead of everyone.
Just my thoughts. I am sure I am not alone on this one.
By the way, I will be posting this on multiple articles over multiple days or even weeks. If you do not like it, tough s---s. If they do not appear regularly, then I have been censored.
Any flamers can direct their comments to the nearest brick wall.

I don’t know if it’s been mentioned before, but the logo for the Back Yard event looks like an Illuminati symbol. It’s a corner section of a pyramid.
How ironic.
