From The New York Times:
About 75 students barricaded themselves in a dining hall at the New School on Wednesday night, holding what they called an occupation to protest the leadership of the institution’s embattled president, Bob Kerrey.
The protest, which began about 8 p.m., echoed dissidence among many of the school’s faculty members, who in the past week have cast votes of no confidence in Mr. Kerrey’s ability to lead the school in Greenwich Village, which he has run since 2001.
Large recycling containers and tables blocked doorways, and banners went up, some reading “Books Not Bureaucracy.”
“You are going about this the wrong way,” a school official told the students.
From the New School in Exile blog:
Open Letter/Communique
From within the occupied New School in Exile, 65 5th Avenue, New York City:
We have been in occupation of the Graduate Faculty building of the New School University since 8pm Wednesday the 17th of December. More than 100 of us have taken over a student building, including our only library, which the administration has marked for demolition without creating any equivalent new space on campus. We have opened the building as a student-run autonomous space, in protest against the administration of President Bob Kerrey who recently received a vote of no confidence from the majority of faculty in this school. Details of our multiple grievances against Kerrey, his vice-President Jim Murtha, and treasurer of the board of trustees Robert Millard are laid out in our first communiqué. This morning we have an update on our situation. At around noon today New School security moved to block our access to the fire exits, preventing us from allowing in our fellow students of the Inter-University Consortium to whom they had refused access to the building in a violation of the Consortium agreement. When they failed to remove us, the NYPD were sent in to violently evict us from the fire exit and one of our fellow students was arrested. The police entered the building at the same time as President Kerrey arrived and offered to speak with us, we responded by refusing to negotiate with him and repeating our demand that he immediately resign. He left and took his police with him. At the moment our security has returned and our numbers have doubled, but we expect future incursions on our space and encourage all who support us to come to the Graduate Building at 65 5th Avenue and 14th street.
Signed,
The New School in Exile

December 18th, 2008 at 3:18 pm
What is the issue here? Anyone?
December 18th, 2008 at 3:18 pm
The students don’t have a right to demand anything. This is why we need to rid all universities of public funding of any kind.
This is what happens when people believe they have the right to force other peoples’ choices; they find that those people start to push back.
Because the student pay the school, and the state uses public money to pump into the school (in the form of grants, loans, etc.) students now believe that they have a say in what the campus’ policies are.
If they have a problem with the University; they should go to a different school. Not nitpick over a single member of the faculty; no matter WHAT his crimes against them or the school may be.
The university is a business; if students don’t want to shop for education there, they should go to different schools. It’s just like buying a car or a candy bar; it really is. The only reason they feel that they have a sense of entitlement is because of government interferences into tax payer money.
This is also why no one has a ‘right’ to education: http://mediacondom.com/?p=396

About time! Amazing; Young people have actully got off their lazy asses and fianlly ACTED in a physical show of defiance!!
Many hear will not like these next words but a few “awake” patriots will understand; I hope the authorities just a bit to far when they go to take it back and hurt a few of these young adults, NOT BADLY, but JUST enough so that it may start a chain reaction that will be started through out the country.
Let me say it again for the rock heads that will only latch on to the viloence… I’m NOT calling these kids to get hurt BUT as anyone knows, the powers-to-be WILL make an example of these young adults because they can NEVER let schools get out of there controls because they know that if it is allowed to spread, it will be the being of the end of their nazi control….
I wish these kids all the luck in the world and hope when it comes to “shove” that they only get hurt enough so their plight will not get suppressed by main stream media

Get a life loser, you may have a silver spoon stuffed up your ass and can easily pick and choose where you want to be schooled but most of us have no such luxury. You are the cancer in this great nation, as well as the people like you.

To #8 Jason Sieckmann – You said it..
“The university is a business;”
and what happends to a business that is not ioperated correctly.. it cannot pay it’s bills because it has no CUSTOMERS that it provides a service to and eventually it closes down.
“PUBLIC” funds as you so clearly refer to is US CITIZEN $$$$$ that are taxed from them without recourse.
Son… pull your head out of your ass and take a breath. Your brain needs the O2.
December 18th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
I like how all the school official can say is “your not going about this the right way”
Well what IS the right way to go about it, huh? Do nothing? What’s your great idea, Mrs. Teacher?? Because I’d sure like to know…
December 18th, 2008 at 4:49 pm
Not sure exactly what their argument is and if this was the right way to go about it, but you’ve got to admire their spirit.
Tough to say how this will pan out. Do they have food, water, bathrooms? Will the school/police provide them with these essentials while they ‘negioate’? I bet they’re really leaning on the parents now to convince their kids to give up and come out now in return for no ‘formal charges’.
If that doesn’t work, I give ‘em maybe 48 hours before they at least cut the wi-fi (=all outside communications). They’ll they’ll cut the juice, make them sweat it out for awhile, then its SWAT time – or the tamed down ‘non-lethal’ version. Crank up the sound cannon, toss in some tear gas, some flashbangs, those kids will come flying out of there.
They probably have TASER representatives there already drooling over the prospect of trying out their new gadgets on these kids.

koool. We get to see how King Bloomberg deals with this. Where was Luke Rudowski?
December 18th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
maybe the students should have done their homework before they enrolled. wait tell they have to pay back those loans. now protest the bank scam that will suck you to your grave.

Cool! I haven’t heard of students occupying buildings since the days of apartheid. Unfortunately, students have little say in a college’s administration no matter how awful it may be, or how much tuition they’re paying/borrowing. I’d like to see some permanent reform here and elsewhere. I was involved in student government in my college days, but at my old university, student input was completely ignored most of the time, even when students were on boards. There was never enough student power anywhere to override draconian decisions. Plus the student government was full of COINTELPRO-like operatives or their useful idiots. There were many 30-somethings taking just one credit among us, all seeming to have the goal of promoting infighting…

Hopefully…Greece is spreading to the U.S. and this will be the beggining of the end..
December 18th, 2008 at 5:44 pm
Good job kids! Stand for something or fall for ANYTHING like most of the adults have.
December 18th, 2008 at 7:10 pm
Alex Jones, this one’s for you. You lied about Cooper to the patriot movement. You are the liar, the divider, the wolf in sheeps clothing. You are the phony, the entertainer, the magician and ringleader of a multi ringed circus.
You are the Jesuit infiltrator so carefully groomed and placed in out midst with falsities guiding your every move from the very beginning.
December 18th, 2008 at 9:02 pm
They want to be a part of their school rather than a “passive customer” as some of you are suggesting. They want some say in the way their education is administered. How wrong is that? Maybe if ALL schools were ran in a manner where students get to voice opinions and make decisions in a meaningful way, we could stop comparing schools to prisons or factories.
Get off them. It’s time for some action and be proud they are taking it. There’s something brewing below the surface here… The youth are restless and are starting to realize the position elites have put them in. It will only be a matter of time before they connect the dots.

you cannot refute what alex jones is telling us, it is researchable and now in our face. we’ve denied it too long and may face teh consequences unless we flip out now and start plastering the streets with our own info war.
if every listener and fan distributed 100s of homemade flyers and cds, that would be a very good start. i already started and may post my flyer for download somewhere. peace to you all.

Former Citizen, you should be proud of your first paragraph , very very good. awesome even. I am going to copy and paste it and put it all over the internet. excellant contrast and comparison
I commend you on an excellant quote

For those of you making accusations against Mr. Jones, you should stick to what you can prove, and remember that you’ve never even met the man.
For those of you defending Mr. Jones, you should stick to what you can prove, and remember that you’ve never even met the man.
In short, get mad, get loud, end the fed and God will short us all out eventually.

December 19th, 2008 at 6:54 am
Reminds me of the old days when young people showed a sense of political awareness and social responsibility by standing up and fighting for what they believed was just, instead of bobbing their Ipod tuned heads to rap music all day long and not giving a damn about nothing but themselves. Bless you all!
December 19th, 2008 at 6:56 am
Yeah you guys are going about this the wrong way [sarcasm] you’re supposed to apply for a protest permit, march around for a few hours within your designated free speech zones and go home exhausted but without accomplishing anything.
December 19th, 2008 at 7:51 am
I know that this isn’t the article in which to be placing this comment, but I felt that is was important nonetheless. I was listening to Alex yesterday when he was interviewing Tex Marrs. They arrived at the subject of luciferian hand signs and the Codex Magica. It was stated that world leaders and corporate CEOs often give this certain hand sign. I also know that Alex and many of us are Ron Paul supporters. However, I did a little investigating, and Mr. Paul flashes the same hand sign over and over. Here is the proof. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_x6inINzThw I would like Alex to address this fact.
December 19th, 2008 at 8:57 am
Hey 35,
Lay off Ron Paul. He has arthritis in his hands. It’s not a “hand sign.” Does he seem like someone on the inside of the NWO? Use your discernment.
December 19th, 2008 at 9:13 am
hey anom, we will all be judged for the testaments we offer.
“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.”
Keep drumming up dis-info, the money they pay you now will mean nothing in eternity.
December 19th, 2008 at 9:50 am
#35 anom
Ron Pauls thumb is out when he is making the hand gesture in the video. That is the ASL sign for “I Love You.” When the elitist/luciferians make the sign to show their allegiance to Lucifer, they tuck their thumb into the two middle fingers turned down between the horns.
Nice try, but I believe Dr. Paul is a godly Christian man, and I thank the Lord for giving him the testimony about liberties and rights and how our government is not performing as it should be,
December 19th, 2008 at 10:48 am
Good for them. It’s time for action. Talking to them doesn’t get anywhere.
December 19th, 2008 at 10:55 am
I’m not attacking anyone, but it is the hand sign, look http://www.geocities.com/theaw.....n_sign.gif

God bless these kids, well done, peace…
December 19th, 2008 at 12:02 pm
Too bad these students (of misplaced priorities) don’t exercise this same zeal to protest what matters most in our nation today: THE OVERTHROW OF OUR CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC BY THE TYRANNICAL, OPPRESSIVE, ENSLAVING, MURDEROUS NEW WORLD ORDER!!! They fail to realise that they will never be able to acquire a real education until they wrest the educational system out of the hands of the eugenicists of the NWO. I believe these students are more enterested in garnering attention from the media than correcting problems with the education system. I hope they enjoy their fifteen minutes of fame and that some good will come out of their bullshit protest.

@ 44.
It’s all or nothing with you eh…Do you apply that philosophy in life?
C’mon, you make absolutely no sense, unless perhaps you are heading up a protest or part of one that addresses the top-down….Are you? Probably not.
Look, it’s understandable that there are the bigger issues, but a group of people chipping away at the system is no reason to invalidate them. I mean really, think about what you are saying.
And your comment regarding 15 minutes of fame is a clear indication that you have no clue about the way things work in this world. Little things like this matter.
December 19th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
#48 very well said.

The first thing Alex should have did was announce the youtube protest day today when he opened his show. He gotta change the popular videoshare site to one that isn’t run by the ADL. I didn’t watch this one here but I’m sure some of us did.
December 19th, 2008 at 3:05 pm
you can block youtube.com from your computer by going to notepad click All Files under “Files of type:”.
Then go to C:
WINDOWS folder
system32 folder
drivers folder
etc folder
then open the “hosts” file with notepad and type 127.0.0.4 youtube.com
December 19th, 2008 at 3:24 pm
Meanwhile, back to the students at the school…
Although it could be argued that they are
trespassing these kids are standing up for
something they believe in a very real way.
Perhaps they know, better even than many
of us oldsters, that these days letters of protest
and picketing do very little to change things.
The elite have their agenda and really don’t care
how many town meetings we have or protest
marches we do.
Sadly it’s to the point in the U.S.
that physical means like these kids are using is
the only thing the Nazi gov’t understands.

U-Tube stands for Uber-Tube btw.
December 19th, 2008 at 4:22 pm
#42 is a paid gov blogger who is rotting from the inside and probably on the GOV FEMA red list because he knows to much. That is the funny thing, they are going to get their own people first.
As for the students, they have the right to stand up for themselves.
As for them enticing us into Chaos, we need to be careful off that Mindfukk.
Luciferians feed off of Chaos. The Blogger can’t even use the word “Our” and uses Are.
I think us taxpayers paid for your spell check douchwagon.

To: “Ditto”, No.59; re: ” #41…your spelling and grammar sucks. ” Dear Ditto, What do you mean by “sucks”?
“Sucks” what? “Sucks” who? You have displayed a perfect example of the destruction of language in the “good old USA”.
In the future, if you wish to be taken seriously, remove the word “Sucks” from your vocabulary. The use of that word pegs you as a poorly educated (typical) American. Simply a friendly suggestion on my part.
Good Luck.
December 19th, 2008 at 10:12 pm
I have talked to people about what is going on and most of the people who actually allready know are under the age of 21. You talk to anyone over 25 and they basically cover their ears and close their minds thinking this will all just pass and life will be great. Sorry to report to most college grads though that the days of making $75,000 a year to make web pages or do sit in a chair and have a nameplate are over. Go learn skills or get a degree in something that is useful instead of “social worker” or “communications”.
December 19th, 2008 at 10:17 pm
Instead, students, study community organization. I hear it pays well and the benefits are great.
December 21st, 2008 at 9:09 am
Seven (#47),
Why don’t you put your thinking cap on, re-read my previous posting (#43), and try real hard to understand the true meaning of what I said? You might discover that the point I made is every bit as valid as these student’s bullshit, attention-seeking protest!
December 21st, 2008 at 9:58 am
One good thing that might come out of this is that these students might use this publicity as a platform to start a “youth resistance movement” against Obama’s future stazi “million man youth brigades”, etc.
