Nidal Hasan: Ft. Hood Shooter Participated in Homeland Security Disaster Preparation

The gunman who killed 12 people today at Ft. Hood appears, based on current media reports, to be Army psychiatrist Nidal Hasan who was listed as a participant in a Homeland Security Policy Institute’s presidential transition task force last year.
The task force was not officially affiliated with the White House. It was a project of the Homeland Security Policy Institute, an independent thinktank housed at George Washington University, aimed at drafting policy recommendations for the incoming Obama administration.
According to the task force’s May 2009 report [pdf], a “Nidal Hasan” from the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine was a task force event participant. Other participants included Senate and House staffers, Department of Homeland Security officials, Defense Department officials, and reporters for Politico, the Washington Post, and the London Times.
FRIDAY MORNING UPDATE: Daniel Kaniewski, the institute’s deputy director, confirms that Hasan attended task force meetings as an audience member, and stresses that he was not a member of the task force. “All of our events are open to the public,” Kaniewski says, “and when someone RSVPs we put their name in the [report] so everyone knows who was in the room.” He says institute staffers recall Hasan attending at least one task force event, and that he RSVP’d for several. “We do recall him speaking at one of our events as an audience member,” he says, “but none of us recall what he actually said. Generally, our events are attended by people in the homeland security community, and Hasan had a very legitimate reason to be there. He was a fellow at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.”
McClatchy reports that Maj. Malik Nidal Hasan attended “training in disaster and preventive psychiatry at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences F. Edward Herbert School of Medicine, Bethesda, Md.,” and his Virginia medical board license lists his name as “Nidal Malik Hasan,” reversing the first two names of the identity reported so far and spelling “Nidal” differently than earlier reports did. (The New York Times is now reporting that his name is, in fact, Nidal Malik Hasan). So it seems likely that the “Nidal Hasan” affiliated with Uniformed Services University (USU) listed as a task force participant, the “Nidal Malik Hasan” listed by Virginia’s state medical board as practicing psychiatry at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and by reported by McLatchy as having studied at USU, and the “Malik Nadal Hasan” who practiced psychiatry at Walter Reed identified in various media reports as the shooter are all the same person. Or were the same person.
Hasan’s name is also listed in a July 2008 USU newsletter [pdf] as having graduated the Master of Public Health Program in June of last year.
And here’s what appears to be a medical paper, or submission to a medical database, written by him.
UPDATE (by Ryan): Law enforcement officials became aware of Hasan at least six months ago after “internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats,” according to AP.
ASSME found an online post from a “Nidal Hassan,” pictured below, reconciling suicide bombings with Islamic teachings against other types of suicide. It’s not at all clear yet whether this post came from the shooter Nidal Hassan or a different Nadal Hassan; even federal agents are “still trying to confirm that he was the author” of whatever posts they’re looking at, according to AP.

New and disturbing revelations about the shooter have just surfaced. According to neighbors who had little contact with him prior to these events, the day before the shooting he was passing out copies of the Torah and proclaiming that Jews were superior to gentiles. Another source at Fort Hood who barely knew him says that as the shooting occurred he could be heard yelling “die Goyim die” repeatedly.

The truth is probably something VERY different. For example:
‘Two US privates John Smith and John Henry had been seeing a military psychiatrist major Hasan at Fort hood for a few weeks. Both privates said they were completely against the war of oppression in the middle east and would refuse to report for active duty if ordered to do so.
So the army put them both in therapy with Dr. Hasan. After more than five weeks of therapy both Christian privates were called to go to Afghanistan. Both privates warned they would not go and they would defend themselves with force if the army tried to force them to fight in a war they believed was morally wrong.
Yesterday fellow soldiers tried to surprise the two conscientcious objectors but the privates were prepared and killed 12 soldiers who tried to force their way into the privates’ barracks at Fort Hood.
During the melee their psychiatrist major Hasan, tried to talk the two privates into surrendering but he was shot twice.
Finally both privates were overcome and killed. Their psychiatrist major Hasan is in hospital recovering.’
Officials of the military have spun the story to make it seem the privates’ doctor (who has a muslim sounding name) was the perpetraitor so that the public does not understand just how much resistance there is to the middle east war in the military rank and file.
The whole official Fort Hood cover story is 98% a lie – just like 9/11. Do you trust the main stream media for the truth in a story like this? Heck, for any story?

Very interesting. That story could be just as “true” as what we have been hearing in the main newscasts about this incident. We will see. Most likely Alex Jones will pretty much get to what happened better than most and most likely will be first doing it. Most newscasters and talk show hosts come to Infowars and Prison Planet to study it so they can use what Alex finds out as their talking points.

I try to be objective and I respect your point of view. Lies and cover-ups are terrible things.
It is important to note that often times the military keeps information from us, not to hurt us but to protect us. For example, throughout this tragedy it has been exposed how vulerable soldiers at military bases are, “they don’t carry weapons unless they are training”. This is not something you want the enemy to know. It is not really you, personally, they are keeping it from, it is the enemy. Sooooo, if what they are keeping a secret is that the soldiers do not want to go-how do you think the enemy will respond to that? I am not really sure.

That story is great Miguel..and I believed it for a few minutes. But the only thing that has me tossed up is..since when are privates or let alone anyone on base allowed to have their weapons in the barracks? Not even the MP’s or MA’s if youre on a Navy base are allowed to return home with their weapon, they have to turn it in to the armory. Or maybe did they have privately owned firearms in their possesion at the barracks? If that’s the case..security needs to tighten up at the front gates of our military installations..

I don’t understand this story.
Here’s a guy who’s a psychiatrist, not a foot soldier. He walks in with two handguns, one in each hand, fires one from his strong hand, one from his weak hand. That’s remarkable shooting in and of itself. He kills 12, injures 31. Assuming one round dead/injured person, that’s 43 rounds. I don’t know about Glock 9mm, but a mid-80s S&W 9mm holds 13 in the magazine and 1 in the chamber. Assuming both guns were fully loaded, that’s only 28 rounds. He would have had to reload, which takes time. There was either another shooter or this guy was superman to have pulled all this off.

Just wanted to point out, reports have stated that Hassan had 2 guns. One was a semi-automatic and one was a revolver. The semi-automatic gun held 20 bullets and from what i know a revolver carries 6, making a total of 26 bullets. How does one kill 13 and wound 31 with 26 bullets? Did something not add up or did Hassan get Kennedy bullets?

It is 11/9/09! A whole weekend has gone by and 11/9 is on a Monday just like another significant date was.
