For those of us who are antiwar, anti-government spying, anti-torture/rendition, and in favor of improving the lives of working people, this election season has been a nightmare. Most presidential elections are awful — months/years of commericials, punditry, and lying — but this year is particularly terrible.
Contrary to the accepted “wisdom” of the electoral experts, Americans are not so divided as we might seem. More than 80 percent of us oppose the war in Iraq, with the majority wanting immediate withdrawl (not “redeployment”). Larger majorities want an end to government wiretapping (and vociferously opposed the wiretapping immunity bill), a scaled-back military budget, and universal health care that excludes the insurance industry. Further, almost no one outside the beltway or the NY financial district bought into the “crisis” that mandated a $850 billion bailout for Wall Street.
These are not complicated positions, but we are given the “choice” between John “Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran” McCain and Barack “Threats in 100 different countries” Obama. McCain is beyond the pale for any but the proto-fascists among us, and even they have reservations about his health and sanity. But to question whether the potential ascension of “Saint Barack” is a good thing, to put into the play of questions of his militarism and support for authoritarianism at home, or to outright oppose his candidacy based on lies and war-mongering, is to invite the wrath of the “good liberal” majority.
Beginning with his 2004 convention speech when he called for “missile strikes” against Iran and Pakistan, through his 2008 convention speech imploring America to recognize the “threats of tomorrow,” Mr. Obama has based his candidacy no less on fear and militarism than the dreaded Republicans. After explaining to a liberal friend that Mr. Obama called for an additional 92,000 troops for the military, for expansion of the genocide in Afghanistan into Pakistan, and an accelerated war on terror in 100 countries (up from Cheney’s 60-country target list), she simply nodded and said, “This is what you have to say to get elected.” Say what?
I see. To appeal to the mass of the electorate, you have to take positions they oppose. This twisted “logic” would also seem to include supporting the Wall Street bailout and the wiretapping bill, in which Obama invested significant time and energy. In my naivete, I thought that any compromise geared toward “winning the election” by this logic meant taking populist positions that a candidate might otherwise not adopt. Yet here, Mr. Obama takes anti-populist positions to…win the election?
A candidate for office can only be judged on what he/she says he believes and says he will do, and on his/her track recrod. We have nothing else. In the case of Obama, we are supposed to believe he says and acts on motives other than his core beliefs for unstated other reasons. This is, I respectfully submit, nonsense.
When he voted for the wiretap bill, he said he wanted to have all “necessary tools” at his disposal for an Obama presidency. When he calls for more “boots on the ground” in Afghanistan, or for “missile strikes” in Pakistan, or “keeping the nuclear option on the table” in Iran, he means what he is saying. His vision is of an imperial America on the march, waging war in pursuit of unspecified “threats” with a bigger, better managed military. That vision includes domestic spying and austerity budgets for the foreseeable future.
So where does this leave that part of America that opposes wars of aggression, torture, extraordinary rendition, and the war on terror? Where does it leave people who want to resist domestic wiretapping or oppose sacrificing our futures for Wall Street profits? I know the drill: hold your nose and vote Democratic …again.
No, not this time, and never again. The majority of us do not have a dog in this billion-dollar electoral fight, and the majority will not vote at all, and why should they? If McCain wins, more war and more austerity. If Obama wins, even more war and even more austerity, but with no political opposition. By November 5, the same people will be controlling our lives, regardless of the election outcome. Real power never gets voted out of office. It must be confronted and overturned.

I just want Obama and the DNC to provide un-disputeble proof that he is electable! Please people , talk to all that you can about this. Talk to your rep.s and media . Demand that proof be brought or that Obama withdrawn. It’s now or never. It’s bad enough to have no real voice in this election . Do you want an Indonesian citizen as your next President?

I once believed that the United States of America was the last hope in the world, but then I woke up and realized WE have been more wicked then most countries combined. Millions murdered through abortion. Millions murdered in the slave trade. Millions murdered through war. Millions murdered through unnecessary hoarding of the worlds wealth which has lead to global starvation.
America the beautiful?
America makes Nazi Germany look like saints, and it’s just going to get worse no matter what we do in this election.
And yes I emphasized WE because I have not done my part to stand up and speak out against such atrocities. I am truly sorry I have not done more. From now on I will let my voice be heard and stand for what is right.
I hope you all will do the same. ITS NEVER TOO LATE TO DO THE RIGHT THING.

Barack Obama is better than John McCain. That is the Bottom Line. He understands and studied the Constitution. John McCain is a over-glorified Navy son, who depends on other people to tell him what is up. He admittedly doesn’t understand the economy and picks the worst people to advise him. Barack Obama taught a college course on Constitutional Law. There’s a difference.
JFK was a better pick than Nixon. Al Gore would have been better than Bush. And Barack Obama is a better choice than John Sydney McCain.

It is time to vote for a write-in candidate of either Ron Paul, Mr. Baldwin or Mr. No Confidence. The only way to send a message in this election is to write in a candidate other than a republicrat. Alex is right, the Fed is not lending huge capital that has been handed to them and now they control all of the keys: money, military, food, commerce and Congress. There must be a large message sent in this election that millions of We the People are not on board with the current corrupt system.
I suggest we vote for Mr. Baldwin.

Oh my God Orangutan! Are you seriously saying that Obama is a Constitutional Scholar!? That idiot is a Socialist who has voted against every constitutional bill that was submitted! Where the hell are you getting your info. Have you even read the constitution, or are you just regurgitating what you have been told. Obama, with all his plans are not only horrindously unconsitutional, but horrible for this Nation and any small measure of freedom we still hold. And in case you were wondering, I hold the same contempt for McCain.

#3 Orangutan – obama’s campaign has been funded by the lehman brothers and goldman sachs. forget about the election. it’s a joke.
ON NOVEMBER 4TH, DON’T GO AND VOTE. INSTEAD, GO TO THE BANK AND TAKE YOUR MONEY OUT. THIS WILL MAKE A MUCH LARGER STATEMENT AND YOU WILL BE DOING GOOD FOR OUR FUTURE

alex, cut the bond music today, you can’t to finish a point before it pops on and cuts you off.
Not good, and it replays twice, then you come back. You really have a problem with yoursystem

#3 Orangutan. yes Obama taught Constitutional Law, but alls this means is he knows that hes destroying our rights. and yes McCain admited he didnt understand the economy but Obama admited he didnt understand the stock market. im not saying vote for mccain and im sure as hell not saying vote for Obama. im saying it doesnt really matter its rigged. Get out of the left right paradigm and demand change or you’ll be sitting in a FEMA camp somewhere wishing you had.

#3 Orangutan- MR Obama is said to have taught a course in U.S.Constitutional theory . If this is true then, I’m sure that he should understand Art II sec I . And I’m also sure that he should have no problem supplying his certified birth certificate from the state of Hawaii and his immigration papers from his return to the United States of America when he was ten years old. When he takes his presidential oath in January 2009 he will swear to uphold and defend the constitution of this once great country. IF HE DOESN’T PROVIDE THE NEEDED PROOF AS TO HIS ELIGIBILITY BEFORE THAT TIME THEN HE WILL BE A LYING TRAITOROUS PIECE OF DUNG!!

As a member of the Central Committee of the Libertarian Party of Ohio I plan to vote for former Congressman Bob Barr, the Libertarian candidate for president. If I lived in Montana or Louisiana I would vote for Ron Paul.
I greatly respect all those who plan to vote for Pastor Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party. I also respect those who plan to vote for honest, patriotic socialists such as Green Party candidate Cynthia McKinney and Independent Ralph Nader, who, along with Barr and Baldwin, supported Ron Paul’s Four Principles; privacy, nonintervention, fiscal solvency and national sovereignty. And, of course, any of the minor alternative candidates would be better than what we have now or what the Conspiracy in likely to impose on us in a short time.
However, any American who votes for the communist Barack Hussein Obama or the fascist John Sidney McCain III, a traitor and the son of a traitor, are themselves either traitors or fools.
There is simply no explanation for anyone who casts a vote for either of these men.

POLICE ARREST VETERANS AT HOFSTRA PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE
On Wednesday, October 15th 2008, a peaceful protest outside the third Presidential Debate at Hofstra University on Long Island was met with violence and misconduct by police.
Iraq Veterans Against the War had a clear mission that night: to ensure that the issues most important to Veterans would be at the forefront of the debate. With over 4,183 service members having been killed in Iraq (at the time of the protest), it’s unforgivable that the candidates have been allowing the Occupation of Iraq and it’s casualties to fall into avoidable talking points instead of focused attention.
At 7:00pm the night of the debate, IVAW members, marching in formation in full dress uniform led a contingent of a few hundred peaceful protesters to the main gate of Hofstra University. As per our letter to Moderator Bob Scheiffer, because we hadn’t received notice that two of our Veterans would be allowed to enter the debate to address the candidates, a small, uniformed contingent of Veterans physically attempted entry.
Immediately police began arresting those who “crossed the line”. They then began using horses to physically knock protesters back away from the Hofstra gates.
As the order to get back on the sidewalk was being complied to at least one officer charged his horse up the curb, and onto the sidewalk- directly resulting in at least three injuries- including two Iraq Veterans.
Nick Morgan, a former Army Sergeant was trampled, knocked out, and had his face crushed by the hoof of a horse.
Witnesses say that police left him unconscious on the sidewalk for up to ten minutes before arresting him. Nick, disoriented and obviously suffering a concussion, was initially refused medical treatment beyond a simple piece of gauze taped to his face.
When Morgan was escorted onto the bus in handcuffs, he didn’t know where he was, or why he was arrested. Police initially refused to bring him to the hospital irregardless of his potentially life threatening condition. It wasn’t until other members of IVAW demanded he be allowed to see a doctor, that the police hesitantly put Nick into an ambulance.
At the hospital Morgan received stitches, and it was discovered after an x-ray that his right cheek bone was clearly displaced and pushed back into his skull.
After treatment, the semi-conscious Veteran was brought to Nassau County’s Headquarters Jail and shackled to a bench with the rest of us including Matthis Chiroux (Army Sergeant), Kristofer Goldsmith (Army Sergeant), Adam Kokesh (Marine Sergeant), Mike Spinato, Geoff Millard (Army Sergeant), Marlisa Grogan (Marine Captain), Nathan Peld (Navy, 1998-2004), James Gilligan (Marine Corps, 6 years) and Jose Vasquez (Army & Army Reserves, 1992-2007). With fifteen in total sitting in the jail, the officers and detectives began taunting and harassing Nick, with all of us witnessing this misconduct by police.
We, the “Hempstead 15″ were issued the same summons and case number for “disorderly conduct” and “failure to obey a lawful order”. We include
On November 10th 2008, the Marine Corps Birthday, and one day before Veterans Day, we will be heard in court. We would like to invite you to come out in support of the very Freedoms granted by the United States Constitution that we swore to uphold and defend when joining the military.
First District Court, County of Nassau, Arraignment Part, 99 Main Street, Hempstead New York
—————————————- ——————————
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO SUPPORT US NOW??
—————————————- ——————————
My fellow veteran brothers need you. We need to call the Nassau County police department and ask them why they would trample IRAQ WAR VETERANS exercising their FREEDOM SPEECH in a peaceful manner. Is this the way members of the military who don the uniform and make an oath to defend the constitution, America, and it’s people are treated? We MUST NOT ONLY hold the Police Department accountable but the Presidential Candidates as well for allowing this to happen. THIS IS NOT DEMOCRACY, THIS IS A POLICE STATE.
Below are the numbers. Call now and anytime until November 10th when the court date is set for the detained veterans. Stay posted for a possible action then.

Check out Texe Marrs book, Mysterious Monuments. You’ll see, the statue on top of the U.S. capitol, is none other than the Virgo goddess, not the “freedom” statue they all want us to believe. The Justice building has none other than the 33rd degree mason Albert pike. The library of congress has Neptune god of the sea. The Washington monument is 555ft tall, or 6660 inches tall! The statue of liberty was sculpted by none other than Auguste Bartholdi, who was a mason. Why does the statue of liberty look so sad, and she is built like a man?!! There is a building in Santo Domingo, in the caribbean, is rumored to be a satanic killing factory where millions of innocents will be slaughtered in a coming Vatican inspired inquisition. 13 blocks from the white house, is a temple of the scottish rite headquarters, where the 33rd degree initiation is to drink wine from a human skull!!
