Nouri al-Maliki ready to oust US from Iraq green zone

The green zone of Baghdad, a highly fortified slice of American suburbia on the banks of the Tigris river, may soon be handed over to Iraqi control if the increasingly assertive government of Nouri al-Maliki, the prime minister, gets its way.
A senior Iraqi government official said this weekend the enclave should revert to Iraqi control by the end of the year. “We think that by the end of 2008 all the zones in Baghdad should be integrated into the city,” said Ali Dabbagh, the government’s spokesman.
“The American soldiers should be based in agreed camps outside the cities and population areas.
“By the end of the year, there will be no green zone,” he added. “The separation by huge walls makes people feel angry.” Dabbagh acknowledged that getting rid of the green zone would be a huge undertaking, given the thousands of American soldiers, private contractors and foreign workers who live inside. He said the concrete walls that divide it from the rest of the city would be taken down slowly, “depending on the threat and circumstances”.

The U.S. has to pull out soon to redeploy and occupy Iran; so this is not really an issue.
Once the U.S. has tapped Iranian oil wells and connected to it’s Afghani pipeline, then things will settle down in the middle east.

Quantum my friend.. we don’t need to redeploy. We are on both sides o Iran; in Iraq on the west, and Afghanistan on the east. We are ready. Things will not settle down in the Mideast, the real war hasn’t even begun yet. We are in the middle east for the express purpose to fight Iran, which despite wat most say, is wat they want. Russia won’t sit on the sidelines I guarentee you. We all better say a prayer. Shalom

Iraq will comply and sell oil in dollars. If Iraqi government no matter how evil it is complys with this on demand we will leave and let the new government abuse the people in Iraq at there liesure. I can prove it.
Iran is trying to flood the world with cheap oil and has set it up to do so. But they want to sell it in euros instead of dollars. The result of that action would make the U.S. Dollar worthless. Read on and I will explain why. There is a video you can watch that will prove it.

I have some bad news for you. We are not attacking Iran for its nuclear program. The reason we are going to attack Iran in the near future is due to a contrat Henry Kissinger made with all the oil producing nations accept Iran and Iraq. The contract is we the United States will buy your oil but you will have to finance our debt which currently stands at 9 trillion. Iran and Iraq never complided. That is why we have attacked Iraq and will soon go into Iran. Iran has set up enough infrastucture to give all the world very cheap oil. It would bring it down to 1.50 gallon within 3 months. Unfortunately as part of the other countries who the that contract that Henry Kissinger set up we cannot tap into Gull Island Alaska which is the biggest oil field in the world. If we did the country we contracted could price oil in any currency they wanted. The United States dollar would be only worth the paper it is printed on overnight if that were to happen. David Stuart…you are incorrect on a number of points, but the most glaring ommission is…Iran is past the point of peak production for oil, thus the need for nuke power to bridge the gap. Their current strengths are natural gas though…and we’ve sure built alot of gas fired electric plants.

The Illegal and imoral Invasion of Iraq was due to Oil.
When Saddam invaded Kuwait his army burned many oilfields in the ground as they pulled out of Kuwait – that was also part of the reason Bush wanted to eliminate Saddam Husein.
The current Government in Iraq is a Government of convenience to the Bush admin. they do NOT serve the Iraq people at all.

I wonder how people in North America would react if the downtown core of their city was turned into a self-contained city within a city by Iraqi nationals and miltary??? How would we feel? Anyone with half a brain would be outraged and fearful and hopefully, would retaliate. Why does it seem that they feel they have the ‘right’ to do that in someone else’s back yard???
