Coordinated agenda to ultimately disarm law abiding citizens long in the works
February 17, 2014
Evidence that the gun control lobby’s ultimate goal is to disarm law-abiding gun owners surfaced last year in a short video clip taken from a New York State Assembly Session prior to passage of the highly contentious “SAFE Act.”
The video, posted a month after the Sandy Hook school shooting, depicts Assemblyman Steven F. McLaughlin attempting to address the topic of rejected democrat proposals from the gun bill.
“I have in my hands here something we received from the Senate, which is rejected democrat proposals in the gun bill,” Assemblyman McLaughlin states, asking if Assemblyman Joseph R. Lentol has seen them.
Lentol replies he has not seen the list, but that everyone’s got their own list of the Senate’s rejections. “So I don’t have anything to show you,” Lentol says.
Instead of leaving it at that, however, Lentol suggests that McLaughlin should exercise caution when discussing the list of rejections, for fear it could “dampen compromise.” “Oh and by the way,” Lentol says, “I would recommend not to have that list shared because it really has the capacity to dampen the enthusiasm to compromise.”
“Well it sure does,” McLaughlin responds. “When we talk about confiscation of ‘assault weapons,’ it absolutely has the ability to dampen a compromise.”Although the confiscation portion of the bill – or “buyback” as it was referred to – was doomed to failure due to the enormous operating costs such an extensive operation would require, the fact that the proposal even came up signifies Democrats’ utter disregard for the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
The video is only one part of a growing body of damning evidence illustrating how the establishment’s primary aim is to stamp out the Second Amendment entirely under the guise of promoting “safer communities.”
“Yeah; I think it was,” Assemblyman McLaughlin exclusively told Infowars when asked if confiscation was likely the original intent of the SAFE act.
“If you go back to Andrew Cuomo appearing on Fred Dicker’s show on station WGDJ, sometime before we had even passed the bill, he was on there saying, ‘You could say confiscation is an option,’ and those words will hang around Andrew Cuomo’s neck forever because he came right out and said it,” McLaughlin recalled.
Assemblyman McLaughlin says during debates over the controversial SAFE Act, it was clear confiscation was a primary goal. “Somebody gave me the list of rejected democrat proposals, and the first couple of them were confiscation, they wanted to confiscate magazines, they wanted to confiscate what they deem to be ‘assault weapons.’ So the first three items on there were confiscation,” McLaughlin said to Infowars.
McLaughlin also says the fact that no democrat opposed him or claimed he was lying is telling of their ultimate plans.
“I’m glad [this video got a life of its own], because what happened in the aftermath of that was the democrats never, not one time did any of them say, ‘Assemblyman McLaughlin is lying, that’s not our intent.’ They never ever opposed what I said. They never said I was lying, they never said that’s not true; they stayed silent on the issue which, you know, clearly, if I had been making that up they would have been all over me saying, ‘That’s not true!’ But it was true; it was completely true.”
At this point, there can be little doubt of a coordinated agenda to ultimately confiscate law abiding citizens’ firearms. New York mayor John Tkazyik, one of the former members of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, said as much upon leaving the organization. “Under the guise of helping mayors facing a crime and drug epidemic, MAIG intended to promote confiscation of guns from law-abiding citizens,” Tkazyik wrote in the Poughkeepsie Journal.
Just last year, during a Moms Demand Action rally (a gun control coalition which merged with MAIG in December 2013), Austin, Texas City Councilman Mike Martinez singled out a protestor carrying a “Stop the Gun Ban” sign and told him, “…there is no gun ban currently, but because of the work we’re doing here today, we will make your sign legitimate shortly, so you hang on to that” (see above).
Last month, Governor Cuomo also weathered tremendous flak after he stated that right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon supporters “have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are,” essentially cementing his position against what he deems “extreme conservatives.”
“This bill was an attack on the 2nd amendment,” McLaughlin stated in his video’s Youtube description, “and the Democrats clearly wanted to dismantle the work of the Founding Fathers. None of these amendments were included in the final bill thanks to us fighting back. I will not stand silent while these unpatriotic proposals are pathetically thrown at us at 11 o’clock at night.”
Certainly if more elected officials stand up for the Bill of Rights and defend their constituents’ right to self defense, there is still a fighting chance of saving the republic.
