The Obama administration warned the US public yesterday to brace itself for an increase in American casualties as it prepares to step up the fight against al-Qaida and the Taliban in Afghanistan and the border regions of Pakistan.

Against a background of widespread protests in Pakistan and Afghanistan over US operations since Obama became president, the vice-president, Joe Biden, said yesterday that US forces would be engaged in many more operations as the US takes the fight to its enemies in the region.
The Obama administration is to double the number of US troops in Afghanistan to 60,000 and when asked in a television interview if the US public should expect more American casualties, Biden said: “I hate to say it, but yes, I think there will be. There will be an uptick.”
Greater US involvement in Afghanistan is a political risk for Obama, with the danger that mounting American casualties could make the war as unpopular as Iraq. Obama, in his first military action as president, sanctioned two missile attacks inside Pakistan on Friday, killing 22 people, reportedly women and children among them. The attacks drew criticism from Pakistani officials at the weekend.

in the article, Biden says that Obama has always been for attacking “High-Level Al-Qaida targets”.
I don’t think its a far-cry from the truth to say the words “High-Level Al-Qaida targets” can easily be switched out with the words “innocent men, women, and children” and you’d have a pretty accurate statement.

This is change. I heard a chunk of the billions was going to be used for some cosmetics on the national mall. f--- the mall. Why not all of it in infrastructure? It’s time to step out of the Great Modern Stone Age, and supply this country with free energy. The economy would get a boost from the extra money freed up to spend. But free energy means going up against big oil, so what am I talking about. Jeez, sorry. I do hope an full on economical, social, and industrial collaspe happens soon. We really need a reality check. You aren’t the reason. Since the end of WWII the United States Army have been nothing but paid mercenaries for the front calling itself the United States government. If you are / or have been in the military after WWII, then the only thing you helped to do was further the NWO.
It is the rights given to us by God that make it possible for every one of us to write what we think on this site. Our founding fathers recognized this and wrote it in our Constitution so that everyone would know that no government can take away those writes. You had nothing to do with it.

I posted a comment in regards to this article, and my thoughts on Biden, and it was totally kicked off. Like…. disappeared off into the ozone.
No big deal, under normal circumstances. After all, this is the place to make “comments”, right?
Not a forum, or a touted place for firefights, or a biased and overly-moderated site, eh? Just a place to display the reactions of all of us “like-minded” individuals to certain articles/facts/revelations/opinions, if I am not mistaken, and to let us know that we are not alone, and possibly belong to an actual COMMUNITY…? Am I right? Or not?
I know that sometimes it takes a while for things to show up, or whatever. Whatever…
But, this little chain of events is unlike anything else that I have ever experienced when attempting to post my personal opinions or viewpoints on this site. And, it should be noted, I am very PRO Alex and anyone else who is working to expose the truth to the rest of the world. I don’t make threats or use unusually degrading language or do anything besides just BE MYSELF. And, if I do say so myself, I am a rather like-able person
I have noticed some unusual things lately when trying to openly communicate on this site, or on prisonplanet. And, I have read about the issues and problems that have been occurring here in the past several days, via the comments here.
It’s got me REAL curious about why this might be happening and all of the possible reasons…
I guess time will tell.

OK, so there are less than 2000 Al Qaeda in existence and there is no evidence they had anything to do with 9/11. Probably Saudi Arabian Sunis blew the twin towers. So the USA/Israel take 100,000 soldiers to fight less than 2000 “terrorists” that had nothing to do with 9/11. Someone please help me with this. Am I missing some information?

We’re kinda curious as to what the present admin. will really do when after how many insane provacations, how many murders, how many attacks, missile strikes, bombs, and other acts of war against other nations, they finally do hit back – so! this admin. has warned the increasingly-unemployed US public to “brace itself” for a “rise in casualties”, eh? Is this part of the “economic stimulus package”, Mr. President? We did a little projection of what would happen if just one large tanker was deliberately sunk in the Straits of Hormuz, and what would happen if one large tanker was sunk in the Straits of Malacca – the costs of insuring tankers and costs of delayed-delivery of cargoes would “sink” shipping companies (time then for yet another bailout?) and the next events that would unfold right after these incidents would be very dis-honorable.

I retired from the Military soon after Obama was elected. These corrupt politicians should all be shot and hung at the same time.

If we were protecting our own borders, I have no problem with that, but where in the hell did it ever come about that we have the right to be the watchdog for the whole goddamed World. It looks like a major confrontation is coming, with Pakistan. So the count so far is Afghanistan, Iraq and now Pakistan. There’s no way the US military can cope with all three, God forbid it adds Iran too. Throw in another “confrontation” in Eastern Europe with Russia, being pushed (again). Maybe a “incident” in NE Asia, with either N. Korea/China. This is going to be too much for any country to handle, even the mighty USA.
With each country America gets into a shooting war with it’s a progression from poorest(Afghanistan), poorer(Iraq), to poor(Pakistan). The US is working up the food chain, and it leads directly to China & Russia.
A war with Pakistan won’t be easy, it won’t be anything like Iraq. The Paks’ have a very well trained army, and air-force. The terrain is harsh and the native people, The Pushtuns, are some of the best warriors in the region. They know the terrain better than any US soldier, and when you have the home court advantage like them, it doesn’t look good for the US.
