Obama Calls on Americans to Help With Cybersecurity

U.S. President Barack Obama has urged Americans to help guard against cyberattacks in a first-of-its-kind video published on the White House Web site.
“Our digital networks are critical to our national security, our military superiority and public safety. But that dependence also makes us vulnerable to cyberattack from those who would do us harm,” Obama said in the video.
He called the threat of cyberattacks one of the most serious economic and national security challenges faced by the U.S., and urged businesses and individuals to take greater care online.

go here to get any flavor of linux and keep up on latest and greatest http://distrowatch.com/ its very easy to install and if you don’t want to install Linux most distributions you can download and try without changing anything on your computer via a live disk. Almost all distros are free I would suggest Kubuntu or Ubuntu for beginners. You can even dual boot and have a choice between Windows and Linux which is what I do. Do yourself a favor and give at least a try and be 100% virus and trogen free. Not to mention almost all of the software is free.. Linux has come a long way in the last 3 years give it a try!!

as the months roll on it surprises my still that OBAMA is happy with the theory that WTC7 (and the other two?) were rigged to blow pro-demolition style by osama bin laden from a cave in fairyland.

a large section of the power grid goes down, and hackers will be blamed and then everybody will need some kind of ‘license’ to use the internet. maybe more than one attack would be needed to justify it, because i think the cia had claimed a foreign hacker attack on our power grid previously but I think that just peetered off.
thats what it sounds like from what i’ve heard.
my question about this is why does the power grid need to be interconnected with the internet (scada devices) and didn’t we have electricity before the internet? (of course)

Thats a very possible scenerio although i think that its probebly going to be the internet itself that goes down . I think having the power still availabe and not having the internet would frustrate people more then if the whole power grid went down i mean its understandable not to have internet when theres no power
but what would it be like if just the internet went down for 6 months or a year ?

Why is this video so bad? 90% of the problems on the computers I’ve repaired have resulted from people not knowing these basic principals. I think it’s great that he put this video out, because people don’t know otherwise.
