Obama Discusses U.S. Military Assistance to Mexico for Drug War

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama was briefed Saturday by Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen about the drug wars in Mexico and wanted to know how the United States can help.

Mullen briefed Obama on Saturday morning about discussions with Mexican military leaders about the drug wars there.
Mullen, who was in Mexico on Friday, has referred to the recent spike in violence as a crisis. Mullen has said Mexico could borrow from U.S. tactics in the fight against terrorism as it battles a crisis of drug-related violence along the U.S.-Mexico border.
On Saturday, the military official said the additional U.S. help could come in the form of U.S. equipment and intelligence-sharing.
“We’re already sharing information with the Mexican military and have been looking for ways to expand that particularly in the realm of intelligence,” the official said.
White House spokesman Tommy Vietor said that during the briefing Obama also underscored his admiration for the work Mexican President Felipe Calderon was undertaking to stem violence.
More than 1,000 people have been killed in Mexico in drug-related violence this year. In 2008, the toll doubled from the previous year to 6,290. Both the U.S. and Canada have warned that murders related to drug activity in certain parts of Mexico, particularly along the border with the U.S., raised the level of risk in visiting the country.

Demoncrats take office and promptly draw down the military, using the “peace dividend” to crank out more social programs guaranteed to buy the votes of the morons that fall for that sort of thing.
The Obamessiah, being a cryptofascist of the worst kind (Euroweenie) first triples our debt, and then pledges to draw down the military, thereby buying votes from the morons who fall for that sort of thing.
How about leaving the military as it’s current end strength and PUTTING SOME DAMN UNITS ON THE BORDER! Defending our countries from both foreign and domestic enemies IS the mission of the military.
Close the NAFTA super highway, give the military shoot to kill orders, and just watch what happens to the drug cartels (and illegal aliens).

You can show a politician the info but you can’t make him think. If we send military to Mexico then we should tell congress to take the country over and give the americans all of the beach front property. That way that traitor-Jesse Ventura would have to fess up his mexican hide-out property too. He can’t talk smack about running to Mexico when things get tough in America and think he is a hero.

By now it is obvious that prohibition does not work and some drugs may be harmful to humans, but we are going to do them anyway. So instead of adding to the casualties by having a drug war because of its illegality why don’t we just make them legal and tax them to fund drug rehab centers. A person can decide to go to rehab if they choose to. In the end more lives are saved. Plus we won’t have our government kicking in our doors with guns drawn for a plant. Support the current legalization bill happening in California right now. Let’s get some momentum!

Drug Wars in Mexico. Illegals crossing our borders.
There is a very simple solution, apply our military as they should be applied, deploy them on our southern border and legalize drugs in America. Problem solved.
If that’s not enough for you then send all the young unemployed down to the border and arm them with automatic weapons and shoot to kill orders and legalize drugs in America.

You can believe that the msm will be showing how well the two sides work together on either side of the border, then someone will say- hey, what a great idea we have here. Uniting both sides for our common security. Watch. Some amerikahns will get killed and that will fuel it. For our safety of course. Texas is gonna have all kinds of mexican troops shooting it up, then arizona, n. mexico and by then the msm will be pushing how normal this looks and ain’t the mexican troops great and how much we like them on our side of the border, and you know, why have a border at all?

“How can he help”? Start by deporting every damn illegal (and their fat-ass baby-momma), free-up jobs for AMERICANS, unburden the welfare system so it can go towards AMERICANS who need it, finish the border fence, and put armed guards to patrol the border with shoot-to-kill orders…..there are a few jobs right there, and that’s putting AMERICA back to work!

I love that you can’t comment on the article over at ATs btw; it shows how separated our troops have become from the constitution they are supposed to enforce.
Factually; they are hyping this Mexican thing as a potential new World War; but we’re out of money to seriously fight it without ending all of our other engagements. And once we have Mexico, then what? Also, they aren’t considering who actually caused the breakdown of their system; drug dealers made powerful by US border laws and DEA enforcement on drug crimes.
