Obama no longer has to placate pro-Israel voters, including no shortage of Christian Zionists, so his lack of comment on the premeditated slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza should send us a message — an Obama administration will continue the long-standing U.S. policy of allowing Israel to wantonly kill Palestinians and pay the Israeli government handsomely to do so. In 2008, the U.S. gave $20.27 billion to Israel, more than a 12 percent increase in foreign aid from 2007.

In fact, it would seem Obama is dedicated to supporting Israel, no matter how many Palestinians it slaughters or starves. “All of us are concerned about the impact of closed border crossings on Palestinian families. However, we have to understand why Israel is forced to do this,” Obama wrote in a letter to ambassador Khalilzad. “Israel has the right to respond while seeking to minimize any impact on civilians.”
According to the logic of Obama — or rather his neoliberal handlers — Israel was forced to bomb the densely populated Gaza and kill so far over a 150 people. As Richard Silverstein noted on January 24th of this year, Obama’s letter to the neocon and former senior political scientist at RAND, Zalmay Khalilzad, may as well have been penned by an AIPAC staffer. “In fact, that’s a very strong possibility in this instance,” as Obama, the Democrats, and no shortage of Republicans have incessantly paid tribute to the political pressure organization.

On cue, Israel’s foreign minister, Tzipi Livni, issued profuse excuses for the carnage. “The international community understands that Hamas is an extreme Islamist organization that spreads its hatred in the entire region, which is being supported by Iran,” she said. “And the international community needs to understand that this is the translation of the right of Israel to defend itself, that there is no other alternative and we are doing what we need to do in order to defend our citizens.”
In fact, Hamas became the “threat” it is today thanks to Israel’s Mossad. “Israel thought that it was a smart ploy to push the Islamists against the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO),” notes Zeev Sternell, historian at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Yassin, after he had served his usefulness, was blown to bits by an Israeli missile.

Democrats who thought an Obama administration would bring some balance to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict are probably saddened by Obama’s apparent lack of concern for the mass murder now taking place. But then what did they expect? Obama is nothing if not window dressing for the New World Order and obviously the NWO wants the carnage to continue in Palestine. Of course, the global elite have no special love for Israel, either, and its people will be sacrificed when the time is right. Israel’s elite will do so willingly, as they have in the past, including collaborating with the Nazis, as Lenni Brenner has documented.

Hammas, unlike Hizbollah in Lebanon, is partly ‘owned’ by Israel and has been since its founding.
When it’s time for some more show, military brutality, increased security or blockades, Israel just tips Hammas to fire a few more rockets, giving them the excuse they need to implement the wonderful Jewish holiday greetings.
What struggling, defiant but starving population of refugees (because all Palestinians are refugees and most of them are children) would, on it’s own, deliberately carry out an assault against its most powerfull antagonist in the region? The domination and execution of the Palestinian people are not forgivable. At least not here on this earth. The occupation has more to do with land and feels like some contrive attempt to create/justify a prophecy. This ‘By way of deception, thou shalt do war’. The Zionists did invade Palestine. They committed brutal acts to establish their state. They have relentlessly expanded their borders with little regard for the well being or rights of the indigenous population. Look it up, those are facts.
If a strange family forces their way into your house and takes over the ground floor, would you accept that you are in the wrong for wanting them out? Would you be equally to blame as them?
The argument that both sides are at fault has no grounds here. If Hitlers’ armies had marched into England and we had fought against their occupation, would you sit there and say that we were as wrong as he? That we should accept his dominion?
If the Japanese had occupied the U.S. would you have been as keen to find fault in the U.S. citizens and blame them for the invasion? Would you appease them? Would you collaborate or would you resist?
It is utter nonsense to always try to find fault in both sides where such faults do not exist. This is a clear cut case where the Palestinian resistance must fight tooth and nail for their survival, their land and their people.
“Oh, but it is such a complicated situation in the Middle East, there are no hard and fast solutions”. Utter rubbish! It is not complicated at all. There is a brutal occupier on the one side and there is the occupied who are struggling to become free on the other.

sneak land mines into their country and RANDOMLY bury land mines in the farmer’s fields. when a few farmers get blown up doing fieldwork most farmers will halt their harvest, thus resulting in major food shortages.

Unfortuntely, my ancestors in the U.S. lost do to mostly giving in for fear of death and being swayed by promises of peace, food, staples, etc. The Native people of the U.S. went from self-defense, to compromises, to complacency, to integration. History shows this. Many did not conform but most did. A good example is how Sitting Bull was turned over by his own people. Both sides in the middle east are equal in defending themselves. We can go over peace, who’s right and who’s wrong, until our heads spin but it will never be solved as long as they hate each other. Something humans don’t easily put aside. The land of Earth is not our own. The land each person places his or her feet upon is not owned. Yes, we have private property but as the Native American’s said, the land belongs to everyone. Yet we fight over it in senseless wars through misunderstanding and hate.
I’m totally against the killing because I do love people and being friends to everyone but taking sides saying one is lacking dignity makes no sense. As long as BOTH sides are killing than BOTH are equally lacking human dignity. Killing is killing no matter the numbers. As long as both sides are point arms at one another neither are respecting international laws. The Palestinians are not innocent themselves just as the Israelis. Both sides have a lot to answer for. I would imagine that there are MANY, MANY more wanting peace than the ones fighting. Government has always been the cause of war. Unfortantely, it’s a necessary evil nowadays. If we could only get out politicians to use common sense and decent judgment.

That is easy to say, how do you propose the Israelis do that. It’s been attempted once before but not at the hands of the Jew. It was done through the Holocaust. Many of the comments on this board surprise me. Several folks have made comments that are very violent in nature and sometimes sound Nazi. Many people have spoken about wiping Israel out…now does such comments sound any less hateful than what history has allowed to happen. Human beings are violent by nature but have to have the personal strength to act as a decent human. Everyone is so busy being negative in the world no one has time to think peacefully. There are other solutions than violence. People just have not woke up yet and learned how to think outside the box. I’m not perfect at all and won’t lie as far as being negative sometimes. There’s things people say on these boards that ticks me off but it’s all about restraint. Many things said here would rarely be spoken in public or face to face. I watch a number of Arab TV networks yesterday and was astounded by the widespread anger and outrage by the public about the genocidal attacks on Palestine. The blockade and human suffering that has taken place over the last six months is a crime in its own right.
Yet Americans have yet to hear the truth about the attacks. Even Huffington Post calls it an attack on “symbols of Hamas power.” This is an ongoing onslaught against innocent civilians including women and children and attacks on a university and elementary school districts. It is a clear carnage.
I hope in the days to come, citizens in the US and other western countries will rise up and say NO to our government’s complicity. But I fear that they will not.
