Dear Mr. President:

Firstly, please forgive me for my lack of writing skill. The Federal government now “educates” its citizenry, thus the quality of the modern American man’s mind has suffered accordingly. You may be shocked to learn that education is now in the hands of politicians, something never intended or even allowed by you or your contemporaries, but much has changed since you have passed on. Your post-revolution political foes, the Federalists, have since taken over and paved the way for a new type of government similar in some ways to Monarchism, called Marxism, that is now the rule of the land. There is much pretense among America’s current rulers that adherence to your beloved Constitution and Bill of Rights is still followed, but alas, it is but a package of lies meant to soothe the soulless, guilty hearts of the deluded, state-dependent slaves. Additionally, and more importantly, these falsehoods are also in place to placate those who may revolt if the true nature of our former Constitutional Republic are discovered.

Indeed, up to this point, I myself was fooled by the words of these charlatans, but a new leader has emerged which paints a clearer picture of the real agenda of the regime. Throughout my life I was under the false assumption that while our government may have some unconstitutional warts, generally the spirit of what you and others had started, remained. No more. The Monarchy of England exists to this day, but one would be hard pressed to tell the difference between their form of government and ours, minus the pretense previously mentioned. Even the Second Amendment, generally agreed by those who still have a concept of real freedom to be the most important right, has been emasculated to the point where a Citizen risks arrest by simply appearing outside their home in possession of a firearm in many places. There is an outright ban on handguns in the District of Columbia and other areas, and the current Executive Leader, a terribly vain, elitist man whose name I will not utter, has maintained that this ruling falls within the constraints of the Second Amendment. A deranged man shot and killed several defenseless people at a University in your home state because they were not legally able to defend themselves, and not surprisingly, the government used this atrocity to create more laws to disarm its Citizenry in the name of safety. The current climate is such that if a citizen wishes to defend himself instead of relegating his own safety to the authorities he is viewed in popular culture to be soft-headed.

The Federal government of the United States has put upon We the People the burden of social and corporate welfare, ensuring that a large segment of society and companies that would not survive on their own are now fully dependent on the government teat, stifling creativity, self-reliance, self-determination and self-worth on a massive scale. It funds this with a progressive income tax, which as you know is not one of your intentions, but one of the Marxists, and is the second plank of their manifesto. Another tax with which the Federal government has burdened the People is called the Social Security Tax, a tax meant to collectively bond the aged to the government until death, and then an inheritance tax to hold them in bondage in the afterlife and rid their heirs of the rights of inheritance. This helps to enslave their survivors in the welfare system, creating justification for the existence of the government’s current policies.

It has become embroiled in foreign entanglements, something I’m sure you’ll remember George Washington warning the nation of in his farewell address, to the point that our own national security is threatened. It uses eminent domain, not to acquire needful military buildings, ports and infrastructure, but to improve its own tax base and destroying sacred property rights in the process. It has taken control of the free market to the point that it is no longer free and on the verge of collapse, and has sought to remedy the situation by controlling it further and spending more of its Citizen’s money on schemes that will only worsen the problem.

It has rewritten history to the point that when your name is mentioned, more attention is paid to your illegitimate children than to the fact that you helped bring about a type of government that has never before existed in the course of human events, one that is governed of, by, and for the People. Your ideas are dismissed by some, saying that a slave owner couldn’t know anything about freedom, ignoring the inner turmoil you experienced because they are ignorant of history. Even the word “liberal” has been corrupted so that it no longer defines someone who loves liberty as you would use the word but it is now meant to describe someone who liberally spends the money of those who have earned it on those who haven’t.

As a fellow Deist, I too believe in an afterlife and hope that it is infinitely more exciting than looking back on the plight of those of us still on Earth. I pray you finally know what it is to be truly free and are enjoying it to the fullest. Even so, please take a moment to look back at what you have created and what it has become and, if there is any way, infect the spirit of anyone who will listen on this planet with your own. Wake up those who have eyes to see and remind them again that an occasional revolution is a good thing.
