Since the Internet took root as a mass communications phenomenon in the mid 1990s, a quiet war has raged in Washington over the extent to which the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) would regulate the new medium.

Until, now the Internet has been largely self-regulated, and the FCC has taken a hands-off approach.

But that could change dramatically soon if the Obama administration has its way.

During the weekend, press reports revealed a stunning development: The Obama administration will announce Monday that the FCC would propose new rules to embrace what it calls “Net Neutrality.”

Obama’s new Federal Communications Commission chairman, Julius Genachowski, will use a speech to the Brookings Institution, a liberal think tank, to announce the FCC proposals, according to those reports.

If I sold you a Lemon and insisted that it was an Apple because i TOLD you that it was an Apple, and marketed it as an Apple, does this change the fact you are biting into a sour Lemon?

Obama is a Master Liar (He has proven this by his ACTIONS) and knows no other way to talk to the American People than to push lies as solutions to invisible problems.

WHEN ARE PEOPLE GOING TO WAKE UP AND SAY…….HANDS OFF!!!!

      I mean, the following issues ae raging;
      - Illegitimate Wars for profit
      - Economic melt-down
      - Mass Unemployment
      - Food Crisis
…..and Obama is REALLY CONCERNED about the INTERNET…..Why? because his bastard Puppet Masters are being exposed by the free flow of information that threatens to completely obliterate the mass-controlled-media monopoly on lies and deceit that has served them all too well as an MK Ultra device; that is until the COLD SHOWER known as the Internet came along and completely caught them un-awares; this is because they are actually retards who THINK they are superior but are obviously complete failures intellectually.

PEOPLE…….Listen to the new M.U.S.E Album ‘The Resistance’, it rocks and it’s 100% anti-New World Order.

Net-nuetrality is a good thing. Unless you want Ma’Bell dictating what websites and content you can or cannot view.

Considering AT&T has already laid out the plans for a tiered internet system that will cost EVERYONE more money, deny competitor’s advertising space, and stifle opposition to anything not pro-AT&T, net-nuetrality is actually important.

      jumping geesus Reply:

Jayro, you are correct in my opinion.

Comcast is doing the same thing…calling it “pay per visit”

      Sharky Reply:

Jayro is correct net neutrality is a good thing. You know folks just because Newsmax (an ultra conservative crap rag) says net neutrality worries them does not mean it is really bad. In fact if Newsmax says it is bad it is probably quite good. They have their heads up their partisan asses and still promote the BS left vs right phony paradyme in order to keep us devided. Obama is a scumbag true enough but he is working for the banks not telecom. His double dealing will come in the form of handouts to big finance. In this instance Obama is doing something positive for us probably because he has to keep what little support he still has but whatever the reason Net Neutrality is good for us. Look at who opposes it – Verizon, AT&T, Comcast, etc. All the scum who cooperated with the NSA in illegaly listening to peoples phones. These dirt bag telecoms want to charge you more and most importantly CONTROL THE INTERNET. Net neutrality will slow them down. Don’t be a partisan or blindly oppose net neutrality just because AJ has this Newsmax rag article posted.

How is this bad? I don’t support Ohhhbaaaaaaaamaaa but I do support the fact that we need to stop the ISPs from slowing down particular users and allow more bandwith for others. I am not a liberal lefty nor a righty conservative. Newsmax is a republican news source, might as well be from the big ISPs. I cannot see the validity in this article. I bet this article was written by Comcast or Time Warner.

NEUTRALITY and REGULATION are pretty much MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE.

      PrivateSi Reply:

..but in the case of the internet, ‘net neutrality’ is, in theory, a good thing.
1 concern (putting myself in a medium to large net-broadcaster’s shoes!) is HIGH BANDWIDTH services will SUFFER in favour of a ‘neutral’ service to all. BROADCASTERS may see their broadcast ability brought to it’s knees – OR COSTS ROCKETTING – ie. they will be SUBSIDISING the rest of the general traffic speed ‘neutrality’ – subsidising all the ILLEGAL FILE SHARERS (lol!)…

I’m in favour of advances in DISTRIBUTED DATA-EXCHANGE & text/data compression. Present system is SLOW & EXPANSIVE in this respect. 2 way traffic (ie. Internet 2) has been here for a while and is COSTLY and BULKY! UPLOAD!

Encryption codes can already by cracked using these chips – previously a cluster of standard PC boards filling a room were needed – now the size of a normal CPU!!

Just like healthcare this is America damnit! we should give everyone healthcare like everyone else!
We don’t want to give people the incentive to achieve. That is just simply to much individual responsibility.

They would never take away the internet, they want to dumb it down. Issue licenses to anyone who posts opinion and news related websites. So the content can be filtered. The American gov only wants the “best” news getting to Americans .
They don’t care one bit about the internet. They want content control. That is the only way to control the internet.

    30. Sir Baby De Porky Says:

      Selective oxymorons city !!!

    31. Will Says:

The author of this article and most of the commentators must not understand the concept of Net Neutrality. Net Neutrality means that large corporate internet providers cannot dictate that some organizations get preferential usage of the networks over other organizations based on a fee system.

If you do not support Net Neutrality then you are saying that you support the efforts of AT&T, Comcast, and other corporate giants who have been fighting against it for years so that they can shut off access for sites like Infowars and others that may not be able to afford fees such as Yahoo and Fox can afford to pay.

Remember, sheeple can come from any side of the fence. Don’t just blindly follow what anyone tells you. Coming to rational, critical decisions means you may have to think a little on your own. Infowars may have good information sometimes, but in this case, the information makes no sense at all with reality. You can’t spin every single issue against the establishment, even though 99% of the time they’re actions are nefarious.

    32. AgentExeider Says:

Now under normal circumstances, Net Neutrality would be a good thing, it would prevent the corporates from throttling or shaping your connections to the internet, and controlling what you are allowed to connect to though their infrastructure.

The problem is, these are far from ideal circumstances, and this is a catch-22, Option 1) Let the FCC ‘regulate’ the internet, they will claim of course to be “Ensuring that your ISP from throttling or otherwise manipulating your connection” however this of course is bogus. Option 2) Don’t do anything and the corporations will regulate the internet anyway on the basis of “Its our infrastructure and we get to control whats goes over it as we damn well please”.

So in either case, the NWO is going to try to regulate the internet in either case. its the same case with Healthcare, politics, and alot of other sectors the NWO is involved in.

what ever the policies, the false choice is what do you want to get screwed by, Corporate Fraud or Government Fraud.

by like Alex always says, break out of the 2 sided paradigm and create a third choice. I can’t think of anything off hand, but we need to create a third choice.

      S&W .45 Reply:

First of all, I would like to call into question your massive misunderstanding of how laws work and the intentions of those who create such laws.
After careful consideration the bill or law is introduced. Then the campaign to sale the bill begins, In Public through media outlets and in private with senate and congress.

Now how would you typically sell anything to the public ? You highlight everything good it would create to those it would effect those who need it.

In congress and the senate, the way something is sold is completely different. They trade votes on bills based on future promises to have support on other bills if they go along with it now. They also use 3rd party people members of there association, to facilitate the needs and wants to secure the oppositions vote weather it is money filtered to them or donating to a charitable cause the person is fond of in effect bribery no money officially changes hands but they control its movement through a network of friends and associates that all want something from the government .

Now i think you need to really start studying the history of laws and there effects.
      Ill give you a lesson.

First all laws are double edged swords.
Second congress and law makers operate on a system of underhanded Bribery, vote trading, selfishness and . Every bill passed is bought and paid for this way.
Third most laws are drafted out of self preservation,or a notch on the congressman/senator’s belt, or a trade to aquire a key vote from an individual in senate/congress.
not the good of the public.
Congress/senate/media of today typically wild one blade of this sword the good and noble side the side that appeals to the public it will serve. Wile stifiling all mention of the back side of the blade and oppsition to it, after studying the tactics of the sales pitch team/media a typical response to exposing the back side of the blade is to 1 isolation not talk about it, 2 when the public starts to get wind of the back side of the blade and speaks out an atempt is made to discredit them publicly by bringing on fiat experts and in some cases use false flag attacks not just violent attacks but political attacks that are unwarranted to bolster support, if this fails to work and the public holds strong to its views the media is used to create a divide
label the opposition to the view or law as kooks ,fringe, nuts, not main stream,The minority,
bible thumpers, teabaggers, left wing fringe or extremist ,right wing extremist Conspiracy theorists.
This is how it is known and sold to the public and what ever side you are on you are outnumbered when you get the label of a kook or nut or whatever, because the public eats this stuff up calls it there own opinion and repeats it over and over thoughts not of there own.For example lets say all left wing experimentalists are nuts.Well i effectively made them the minority and repubs and independents who don’t know the issues well will agree!

To prove this, try contacting your local congress/senator and see if you get action to introduce a bill or even help draft legislation on the bill. 99% of the time you don’t get a call back.

The way the media operates today, is a medium in which politicians can sell there message to the general public. However who gets to sell the peoples message to congress or senate? You certainly can’t get a hold of them on the phone. The only way to get any response is if you can provoke the media to cover your story and make a stink that puts the lawmakers in the cross hairs of public dissent.Press and television are dieing because they are stuck in the status quo.
Press of the people will always thrive and survive and dominate.

Conspiracy theories, here is a key word everyone hears All the time. What is it? Well closely studying how the word is used.
A conspiracy theory is either a topic that has not been fully investigated or looked into or a topic or idea that Has been investigated thoroughly but the information gathered is not disseminated by most press and media because it conflicts with the public’s preconceived opinions and conflicts with the status quo. Or simply the topic is so complicated that the general public lack the ability to follow the story or simply has no will to do so due to social pressures of being labeled.
In short a conspiracy is a topic or idea that fails to conform with popular views, and the public has no interest in following the topic and has failed to be investigated seriously.

Some say that the drafters of these laws design the laws from an intended purpose HOWEVER what side of this sword was intended? Some design laws based on the unintended consequences they know how to distort the language to produce the supposed”unintended consequences” which are actually intended, but the public the sheep get the sales pitch of the good and the great and it will be so easy and free and help the poor you name it.

Now as far as im concerned you seem to follow the trend to be a bit naive when examining other people, you seem think your views are the best for everyone and everyone should think like you and the way you relate with people who don’t believe like you has been taught to you by whatever media source you think presents the best case and you repeat that behavior to others.
Now with that sad what do you really want to say?
We should support the government in determining what is neutrality?
How will they gov determine what is neutral? Are we talking about censoring content to make things neutral? Or are we opening up the content?
Point is making something neutral can be done in several ways. 1 exposing censored content
2 or censor content that is not displayed neutrally.
      3 censor everything .
Sir as it stands right now you can get almost any thing you want on the internet if you can find it.
So with the above stated why would any government intervene if the internet is already running free and running wild?
Your logic seems flawed we are an intellectual society yes? Why did this Texas born American just expose you.
You need to look at yourself before attempting to belittle others.

Also they mention high teen pregnancy sir I think you are overlooking some important issues which you will never understand. In the border states we get invaded by immigrants who refuse to use the legal means to work in the U.S.
With that being said Mexico is very poor and very family oriented. In Mexico when you are poor you know what you do? Find you a wife and make babies that is free and fun.
Well since the illegal aliens decided to come here to work, but missed the indoctrination of public schools in America they carry there values with them they make kids that is a primal behavior.
Second it only points out how schools lead by the department of education have efficiently had an effect on birth rates of adults.

Basically those that have been trained in the school system learned procreation is bad bad don’t do it. Wile those “teens” who have not been taught and are rebellious at that age are ignorant of birth control and Illegals who bypassed the schools missed out on the indoctrination.
In any event ICE failed by preventing illegal border crossings. The parents had children sometimes 6 or 7 , those children had 3 or 4 ect.
After a wile of indoctrination and training over the generations the birth rate will go down. After all it has worked very effectively for generations of Americans.

Also most people here consider dem and repubs 4 letter words please don’t bring your filth.

I find your obsession with guns and bibles disturbing. Maybe we should outlaw free speech just like guns.

Wow this is a long rant. My Apologies.

For the FCC to announce plans to support “net neutrality” is a good thing.

It one of the few times in recent memory when the government has actually taken the side of the people against the big corporate interests who want to screw us every which way they can.

Why bother with being on the net if you aren’t going to take the opportunity to do a little research and keep yourself informed about the issues? Read up on “net neutrality>”

    38. Steve Says:

Um, some of you knee jerks need to realize that Net Neutrality is a G-O-O-D thing. Geeze, just because Oblame-o’s name is in the article, don’t jump to unrealistic conclusions.

      S&W .45 Reply:

No Steve You are wrong. in fact there is nothing neutral about it.By employing you need to make something neutral, you need to prove there is something wrong with the system as it is now.

First off if you need to pass a law to bring something to insure neutrality, then under our Constitution that would give grounds for lawsuits against these companies for violating free speech.

Our constution ensured a forum to address such disputes through lawsuits and if any company participates in censoship of information that is not regulated it can be sued.

Now sir if you spread the government blanket over the internet companies by passing a law of “neutrality” lets say they want to take control of the internet when an emergency is declared for whatever made up reason. Well the internet now falls under the federal blanket. Protected by lawsuits because the gov made them do it and we all know how that goes in court.
Point is the Constitution already protects neutrality Freedom of speech clause in the first amendment.
Now why would you need to pass another law for this? Internet censorship is already a crime violating free speech.File a lawsuit.
i know the mercury has messed up your brain but lets try to use some of the logic you learned in hs and apply it when you read a bill.
