WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama tapped a top Cabinet official on Thursday to work with Congress to speed immigration reform as senators warned another failed effort could doom chances for a generation.

Obama said he had asked Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to meet regularly with lawmakers to systematically work through a number of controversial issues, such as how to handle the 12 million illegal immigrants already in the United States and how to prevent future illegal immigration.

BS! We in the Tech industry are ALREADY losing our jobs en mass to overseas countries like India now they want to outsource us HERE. Filling our jails running up medical cost, eduaction cost, housing, food, car insurance. I love what this great country once stood for!

As far as Mexican’s… get rid of the taxes and liabilities that companies have to pay the average american worker, and suddenly, paying illegals will be no more profitable than hiring American’s.
Think of it, if they got rid of the taxes, the insurance, the 401k’s etc that they have to pay Joe American, Joe American would be just as viable as Jose`.
The only reason that most places use illegal workers, is they don’t have to pay taxes or insurance on them. Most illegals at least in California *from what I am told, someone can confirm it*, get paid fairly well, because their employers can pay them cash, under the table, to avoid paying taxes and insurance on them.
Get rid of the real problem, the TAXES, and you get rid of the immigration problem, because American’s and the Illegals would both be on the same playing field. As long as you have to pay taxes on an employee, and insurance, etc… and you have an option with illegals to NOT pay, in a bad economy, most businesses that can get away with it, will hire illegals.
