President Obama rebuffed calls for a commission to investigate alleged abuses under the Bush administration in fighting terrorism, telling congressional leaders at a White House meeting yesterday that he wants to look forward instead of litigating the past.

“The last few days might be evidence of why something like this might just become a political back and forth,” Gibbs said.
The push for a “truth commission,” which grew from the efforts of a few human rights groups, gained fresh momentum with last week’s release of the memos from the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel that provided the basis for the enhanced interrogation techniques, including the practice of simulated drowning known as waterboarding. Obama has said he is opposed to holding CIA interrogators legally accountable, but in a statement last week, he left open the possibility of legal jeopardy for those who formulated the policy.
On Tuesday, Obama explicitly raised the prospect of legal consequences for Bush administration officials who authorized the techniques applied to “high value” terrorism suspects, and said if Congress is intent on investigating the tactics, an independent commission might provide a less partisan forum than a congressional panel.

My guess: Probably when the food supplies get compromised. Hungry people quickly become motivated to find out wtf is going on.
If food becomes scarce, there will be two kinds of people: those who become more motivated to kick out the criminals running the show, and those who will run to the government for protection and food.
Don’t be one of the latter. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
And do everything you can to replace this regime.
How? Stop using their money.
The central bankers will lose their revenue from inflation and usury when we stop using their money. Their banking systems will fall. Once the central bankers go out of business, their corrupt lap-dog politicians will lose the funding for their election campaigns. Their system will dissolve.
Then we can bring about actual change. Not Obama pretend-change but the genuine kind.

Do you really believe in or find “truth” in the final conclusions concerning either of those commissions??? President Obama was smart to reject the idea of a truth commission. Open public hearings with sworn testimony before the appropriate Congressional and Senate committees is the way to go. Prosecutions come from hearings – not truth commissions. Period.

One of the main reasons we have laws that demand justice in the eyes of society, is to prevent an uprising by the people. If none of this ever goes to trial, there could be such an uprising where someone just starts popping them for their crimes and that’s what happens when leaders fail to answer the call of justice on such a grand scale. It’s not just the war crimes, but everything else that’s being swept under the rug.
I don’t know when it will start but it will sooner or later and you gotta wonder how many will get popped for their corrupt and complicit involvement. Our leaders are taking a very big chance here, just dismissing things and looking the other way and IMO I don’t think God will help any of them when the deed gets done.

Do your homework. Know what the hell you’re talking about. It’s called “the Google” and “Wikipedia” – perhaps you should look into it. Guess what – unlike Alex Jones’s DVD’s, the Google and Wikipedia are free!

What he is saying is that the issue of TORTURE in the previous administrationbelongs with the CONGRESS – and it does. As an independent branch of government the Congress can do as it will – it has the power of subpoena – it can call witnesses from the CIA, FBI, Pentagon and so on and, it can hold as many hearings on the issues as it wishes!
Hearings lead to prosecutions – presidential commissions and truth panels do not! Period.
It seems to me some people want it both ways … had President Obama accepted the idea of a truth commission you all would be jumping up and down and cussing up a storm saying that he was sweeping the issue under the rug – and you would be right. If he had accepted the idea of a truth commission that IS essentially the signal he would be sending.
Hopefully you’re still following the bouncing ball …. see once a commission is established the flow of public disclosure is immediately cut off with it. Not so with hearings led by the Congress and hearings my friend, lead to prosecutions – not truth commissions.

Obama is nwo scum. Plain and simple. How can he talk about change, if he is not willing to fix what is wrong? Answer, he does not care and is now behind it. Dont prosecute. Look forward. These thoughts should send any smart Obamacon to wake up. Is that even a defense ? I mean for example. Get arrested and someone hires some lawyer that says dont prosecute , look forward..
