Obama Signs Hate Crime Bill Into Law

President Obama has just signed into law the very first protections for transgender people in US history: The Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act. The bill passed both houses of Congress earlier this month as an amendment to the Defense Authorization Act.

The Hate Crimes Prevention Act will have a number of positive impacts:
1. It will help educate law enforcement about the frequent hate violence against transgender people and the need to prevent and appropriately address it; 2. It will help provide federal expertise and resources when they are needed to overcome a lack of resources or the willful inaction on the part of local and/or state law enforcement;
3. It will help educate the public that violence against anyone, including transgender people, is unacceptable and illegal.
Most importantly, this law marks a turning point for the federal government by including protections based on gender identity and taking seriously the need to address the disproportional levels of violence that transgender people face. In the past, federal law has only mentioned gender identity in a negative context, such as explicitly excluding transgender people from the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Freedom just got shafted with the passing of this Bill, I’ll show you where. In (Sec. 2. Definition of a Hate Crime subjection(2) the term ‘hate crime’ has the meaning given such term in section 280003(a) of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 (28 U.S.C. 994 note); and) – I had a heck of a time finding the section 280003(a) of the other bill, but this is what it states: SEC. 280003. DIRECTION TO UNITED STATES SENTENCING COMMISSION REGARDING SENTENCING ENHANCEMENTS FOR HATE CRIMES.
(a) DEFINITION- In this section, `hate crime’ means a crime in which the defendant intentionally selects a victim, or in the case of a property crime, the property that is the object of the crime, because of the actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, gender, disability, or sexual orientation of any person.
This essentially means that all that constitutes the hate crime is the selection of the victim or their property and the actual crime could be that of what they may label hate speech that would cause injury such as psychological injury! So no more jeering the fly boys, don’t say the word Jap, or Spic, or Honky, or Uncle Cracker, or Boy etc…… everyone might as well just duct tape their mouth when they leave the house or risk incarceration. What a bunch of baloney!

JD, those words are not part of my vocabulary, nor have I ever used them as part of my vocabulary, I was making the point in defense of those who may use those terms in their vocabulary that they have that right and should not be subject to penalty of law for doing so, FREE SPEECH. Under this new law they are now subject to prosecution if someone claims they are emotionally, or psychologically injured as a result of a persons speech. I am totally against legislation that protects any particular group of people. I’m not racist, or a hater, but no particular group should be “specially” protected. Just for anybody who may potentially harm me be aware that I am a lesbian trapped in a mans body. This hate crime law is not like being a different race with a genetic and physical difference. This is a law based on a belief system or at the least what is going on in somebodies else head. I am not going to try and say a person is wrong or right if they are gay or transgender, but for what ever reason that person does believe in the way they are. Last and if you think hate crimes are OK based on race everybody is African American if mankind originated on the African continent, but I am sure the family of murder victim who is of European decent will understand when the perpetrator gets off easier because the victim wasn’t a minority. You’re such a fool. When you take away a person’s right to freedom of speech, a right to vent their frustrations, even their hate, then that person is more likely to eventually snap and act out in violence.
Besides that, all crimes are crimes of hate. You don’t beat someone because you love them. You don’t rape, steal, or murder out of love. And the worst racial hate crimes in the US continue to be black on white crime, yet it is barely reported. Answer: They DON’T. Because a crime is a crime, no matter who it’s perpetrated against. Is the purpose of the law to make sure that say, murder of a transgender, would be dealt with properly by the justice system? Is the implication that it would not be, otherwise?

My white 13 yr. old grandson was beat up by 6 black boys, and absolutely nothing was done. The young cop (probably trained by the ADL) determined that it was my grandsons fault because he beat them in a rapping contest so they beat him up. The doctor who did the 2 surgeries on his broken arm said, whoever did this should be in jail. The cop decided that she would only charge 1 of them (the only 13 yr. old involved) so it would be 1 on 1 in court. There are no hate crimes against white people.

Regressing Heterosexual-Not…I haven’t “just flew right into Infowars touting his shame”
I’ve been listening to Alex for well over two years…and since I lost my job I’ve had time to actually read up on all that’s been discussed and I’ve learned alot because of AJ and I’m grateful for all that he’s done in opening my eyes…
You all throw insults and have accused me of being a troll or now a NWO supporter…and you’ve obviously learned nothing from what Alex has been telling people…
Divide and conquer…
So, I’m not a God fearing fluoride brain-dead slave anymore, and because of this, you don’t want to discuss this issue honestly or openly…?
When you attack me personally…you loose…
I’ll ask this again…
When someone commits murder…there’s different levels and consequences…Manslaughter, when one kills someone else but didn’t mean to…say as in a car accident…and Premeditated Murder, when someone plans it out…
This law is very similar…is it not? It goes to ones motives and what they were thinking…
So, all you people that say this is now going against God and is now a thought crime…why can’t any of you admit that our system already does this?
In the logic you all claim as “gospel” goes directly to this very issue…
If the brakes fail on my car and I plow into a group of schoolchildren and kill a few…while a terrible thing…did I plan it or was it my fault and should I be treated as harshly as someone who kidnaps and rapes and then kills someone?
Our laws have tried to address these different levels of crimes…so that justice is done…
How is this law any different?

Well I agree with you Gerri, about there being an obvious difference between thinking and acting. But I think what people are trying to get across is, considering our government’s bad habit of passing laws in the name of one thing and then really using it as a means for a whole other agenda is what we have to be careful about. I.E. Obama’s health care bill with old people having the option of getting the plug pulled- sounds great like that’s somthing they should have the right to have but there is a very thin line that gets crossed and all the sudden there’s supplemental “amendments” to the bill that could say, “Oh we have a new criteria for people who are required to get euthanized and you qualify for that service.” Once you get the main bill passed then there’s all these other f---ed up ones that get hidden inside of other bills and so forth. My word is that people should just shut p and let people be and you wouldn’t have to have common courtesy being legistlated with the possibility of loosing oter rights because of people’s ignorance and bigotry.

One more thing, homosexuality is not a gene, is not natural and IS a mental disorder and a grave sin agains God no matter what the APA says, because it was a homosexual who made it okay in the APA world to be mentally ill and diddle little children.
On that note, it is sad that society has turned their back on them and not given them the help they need to break out of such a horrific mental disorder. We already have laws that forbid interpersonal violence. These laws provide a prosecutorial framework for punishing acts of violence. Why should a person who hates my race or gender get a longer jail term for assaulting me than a person who hates some other attribute that isn’t mentioned in any law, or who is trying to rob me? Is avarice morally superior to hate if it results in the same action (violence)?
It seems to me that we trying to punish states of mind rather than just actions. That is one of the defining characteristics of totalitarianism. The laws of a free republic can limit behavior, but not states of mind. Police states seek to regulate everything.
In which direction will “hate crimes” laws take us? It’s something we need to consider.

The Civil Rights movement did that…why did blacks have to sit “in the back of the bus”? Because of their race…I didn’t agree with the “desegregation movement”…it created more problems and the costs have bankrupted cities…great idea…bad decision…in fact, I think it made whites and blacks less tolerant of each other…
And I do understand the fear that this law will be abused and used in a manner not intended…
We already have laws that make certain actions “worse than others”… like killing someone…in certain states you could face the death penalty…and that depends on ones motive…correct…? Did you kill them with premeditation or accidentally?

We make judgments every day otherwise we would blindly let our children walk to the store with some unknown stranger, or just buy that car because the salesman said that it is a good deal and in tip shape. God’s law supersedes man’s law, and God’s law does differentiate between the righteous and the wicked. I believe that God’s word explicitly instructs me to not keep company with those that do not have any reverence for the things of God or his LAWS. Sexual immorality is SIN. God’s law say’s the soul that sins shall die. Now if after letting my neighbor know the consequences of their sin and the solution for it, they refuse sound doctrine, I have a right to NOT talk to them anymore, or let my children play with children they may know, or their friends, or talk with them or engage them in any kind of way! What you need to do is actually READ this new law, because it DOES in fact give protection rights to the pedophiles that prey on children of whom Jesus said this,

I am not sure why this would be a good thing. A crime is a crime. I don’t think that there should be a heavier penalty due to the person’s reasoning behine the crime. It sounds like just another way for a person to be imprisoned for a long period of time at the discerning of another human being, whom we call our judge.

The entire act revolves around a minority population that is gay, but it is called hate crimes legislation. I havn’t read the bill, and maybe others are protected under hate crimes?
I propose that supporters of the constitution of The United States of America, be included under the hate crimes act, as we are a minority in the USA and we stand upon a Rock that is called the Fundamental Law of these United States of America. We are persecuted daily by disinfo, that is the CIA gets 72 billion dollars per year to debunk the Truth and destabilize this nation and all nations of the earth. The real information not provided in this article is what is defined as “violence”. Violence could be defined as quoting one of the 15 biblical verses that show God’s displeasure with the concept of “Transgenderism”.
Or, just saying that you don’t approve of it could be “violence”. But if a transgendered person says they disapprove of YOU as Christian, they get off the hook on the “violence” issue.
Since there are laws already on the books against assault, there must be another shoe getting ready to drop on the violence definition.

I have an urgent message for you, more important than any message you can hear. God is Holy and cannot accept sin(honor thy mother and father…, thou shall not kill, thou shall not commit adultery, thou shall not steal, thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor, thou shall not covet..etc…Exodus 20:12-17). But God has provided a way for each to escape the lake of fire. All you must do to be saved is BELIEVE in Him(trust in Him to save you as a sinner). You must admit your lost sinful condition to Him/that you’re worthy of hell, and ask Him to save you by placing complete trust in Jesus ALONE for salvation(an example in the Word of someone doing this- “And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.” Luke 18:13).It is not even partly by yourselves that you can be saved, but only by the merits of Jesus Christ!

I am a heterosexual, white, male and I do NOT live in fear at all! I have my beliefs and I will express them any time I feel the need to. The battle is the Lord’s. Just focus on Him and live your life.
The Bible says that Homosexuality is a sin and that they will not inherit eternal life – unless they turn from their ways and believe on the Lord Jesus as the only forgiver of sin. He has power over death. Is it a hate crime to say that? If so, them God knows my heart. If I am persecuted for this, then I will be blessed as I am joined up with my King in the sky.

We have those laws on the books now, this is just a way to shut everyone up and make it illegal to protest anything the “government” is pushing, speak freely or practice your religion. This is just another way of oppressing white people, and criminalizing free speech. Anything a white man does is a hate crime, but nothing a black person, or Hispanic person does is a hate crime. “Hate” crimes are a violation of the equal protection clause of the Constitution. They make a homo’s life more valuable than my own.
Also, since we now “protect” behaviors are we going to make laws to protect adulterers, gamblers, drunks ? If so, why not ?
