I’m thinking that a law requiring three candidates in every debate would be a remarkable medicine for the problem of Deep State manipulation. But then the problem is, how to prevent them from fixing the #3 slot with a shill as well <sigh>

It’s more closely related to addiction — like reaching for a cigarette while you’ve still got one burning in the ashtray. Its essentially an oral fixation. Likewise leaving the caps lock on 24/7 is sort of the text version of elevator shoes to make one look taller.

Maybe they grew up in a house with an abusive father, who may have had a taste for the sauce, and who may have been attractive to a certain type of lady (maybe the Sandy Posey type, who was “Born A Woman”, &c), and may have carried on that tradition in their own family, hollering “shut up!” when their kids asked a question without being spoken to first.

Steve Whitmore, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, said his office, which carries out eviction orders on behalf of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, is sensitive to the issue.

He refused to speculate about what his department would do if confronted with dozens of people refusing to vacate a house. Last week a Carson man refused to leave when deputies showed up to evict him; deputies did not arrest him.

People who refuse eviction orders could be charged with trespassing, a misdemeanor.

So, the source that Nimmo quotes about this subject, Bob Feldman, ends his piece thus:

“But don’t expect THE NATION to publish much investiative reporting about either the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute, the National Endowment for Democracy or the International Rescue Committee’s corporate and political connections or global activities–as long as FERI Board Member Katrina vanden Heuvel is still THE NATION magazine’s editor.”

But as soon as I began looking, I found this piece by David Korn, published in The Nation, “Our Gang in Venezuela?”, which, while not an unmixed condemnation of NED is far from exculpatory. On balance, it paints a pretty shoddy picture of the organization. Following that, I found plenty of Nation articles mentioning the NED, none of them positive in any but a minimal sense (all of them, admittedly, of a later date than the Feldman article).

The Bob Feldman piece contains references to dates in the ’90s, in 2000 and 2001, but none later. Maybe Katrina read it and decided to come down harder on the NED? None of the Nation articles I found were earlier than April 2001. But every one of them was critical, at least by association with shameful treatment of the supposed beneficiaries of the US tax money.

But, my friends, determined to be thorough, I continued looking, and lo!, I found this quote in the article “Yeltsin’s Elections”, By Daniel Singer, published all the way back in December 6, 1993:

“To claim that observers sent by the National Endowment for Democracy, as was proposed by the US. government, will keep the Yeltsin boys in check is like sending fellow travelers to insure the fairness of the poll in Stalin’s time.”

Apparently Feldman’s research did not put him in contact with that piece. But then, in 2001, Google wasn’t what it is today.

Alex expresses a cross-and-garlic fear of Google, but (his honesty and admiration getting the best of him) he admits that “they are the best” by a wide margin, and which of us would deny that our work here, and indeed the whole of the Truth movement, is deeply indebted to Google? Isn’t it true that, whatever “censorship” they may have yielded to, under pressure from the US, Chinese, Almighty Dollar or other power centers, the presence — nay — omnipresence of Google alone has dealt what is probably a fatal blow of bright light to the “DarkSide”?
