Obama Victory Means ‘Stronger Support for Sensible Gun Laws’

The strong Election Day showing for Democrats signals stronger support for “sensible gun laws” in this country and a “significant setback” for the National Rifle Association, a gun control group said Tuesday night.
The Brady Campaign issued a statement even before Sen. Barack Obama was declared the winner, saying the political environment is better than it’s been in years for “progress on gun violence prevention.”
The NRA spent millions on ads during the campaign, warning that Sen. Barack Obama would be the most anti-gun president in American history.
But according to the Brady Campaign, the NRA failed to deliver its “supposed block of single-issue voters” in Tuesday’s election. According to exit polls, the economy took precedence for many voters.
“America should take notice that reasonable policies on guns are carrying the day,” said Paul Helmke, president of the Brady Campaign, which endorsed the Obama-Biden ticket.
The Brady Campaign says Obama “consistently supported common sense gun laws in the U.S. Senate and in the Illinois State Senate. Senator Biden not only has supported, but also has been a leader for strong gun laws throughout his career in the U.S. Senate.”
Not only did Obama win the presidency, but NRA-endorsed senators lost their elections in North Carolina, New Hampshire and Mexico, the Brady Campaign noted.

Brady Campaign officials said it appears that the June Supreme Court decision in D.C. v. Heller may be starting to have an impact on political races — “with the gun lobby failing to convince law-abiding gun owners that an Obama-Biden Administration would infringe on anyone’s basic Constitutional rights.”
“The gun issue has clearly lost its status as a ‘wedge’ issue in most places and most races,” Helmke said.
The NRA, in a brief statement on its Web site, said Obama’s presidency will be disastrous for the firearms industry.
”Just look at a couple of the things Obama has proposed: a 500 percent increase on excise taxes for guns and ammunition, and a ban on gun stores within five miles of a school or a park,” said the NRA’s Wayne LaPierre..
“Those two measures wouldn’t just decimate the firearms industry, they would kill it. That, in turn, would have a drastic effect on our military, because the same companies that sell guns to civilians are also the ones selling guns to the government. I wonder how Obama would feel about a multi-billion dollar bailout of the firearms industry, because that’s what just two of his proposals would require.”
The NRA said Obama’s judgment is as bad as his Second Amendment record.

Time to bury the weapons, just like other places did before, and when all the mess is over and the stupid twenty to thirty somethings are either dead or immobilized, that’s when things will return to normal. After all, when a country gets too big for it’s britches, it tends to get smacked – that’s a lesson from history, something NOT taught to our children, and therefore, since they didn’t learn from it, they will repeat it. The police state will grow, and when they get the change they asked for (but not the “change” they wanted), they’ll revolt and be shot, then the US will fall from the outside, like Rome did – the key is to survive until that time, by any means needed, until our over entertained and over sexed society comes to it’s final conclusion. I can wait four years.

Well, I heard gunfire around where I live after Obama was announced the winner. I was wondering if they were shots of aggression or of celebration. Being I live in North Texas and that eerie feeling I still can’t shake since last night cam upon me, after hearing those shots, I think they were of aggression. More so then that, I can hear the voice of Liberty and she never sounded so sweet.

Small arms that are legal for US citizens to posess will soon be obselete for resisting a tyrranical government. Microwave and laser cannons combined with the rifle resistant armour currently being used in Iraq by US troops will make effective resistance very difficult. We will fare worse than the Iraquis if it comes down to this because we lack effective communication devices, air power, RPGs, mortars and fully automatic weapons.
Nevertheless, small arms are my second choice for defense against mobs and bandits. Why second choice? The God of Avraham, Issac and Jacob is a warrior and a strong tower for those who trust in Him. David didn’t defeat Goliath with superior weaponry.

I am convinced that there will be an event to support taking away our first and second amendment rights, just like the bailout bill create a panic situation to get full support for a bill to enact unconstitutional laws. I also suggest people to go out and get your guns and butter now before Obama starts to errode away the laws and the end of true america comes in its last heartbeats.

The globalist mind control does not work on me. This doesn’t mean I am smarter than everyone else, it just means that my brain works differently from most people and the mind control is directed at the middle of the bell curve.
Unfortunately this also means that nobody listens to me. I sound like a nut to those less than 2 standard deviations away from the mean (refer to statistics and the bell curve) because my thinking process is different. I wish I could help my fellow citizen prepare for what is coming. But they cannot even see what has already happened.

No, we’d never be able to compete in a head-on confrontation. Hell, look at Waco! Who among us has an Abrams tank? If you’re going to purchase more ammunition, do it soon. Many just have no clue, and all of us on this group are nuts so they say. Well they got their new hope, and that new hope will make a peaceful world. A friend of mine wanted me to help her buy some weapons and teach her how to use them, now she is a very smart lass but her hubby said we don’t need them now since Obama is in things will change for the better. for this guy I can only say bumbass, but that is most of the american people.
Here is the deal, most 20, 30, and 40 year olds are not with the s--- in the sewer sorry but they are spoiled, fat, lazy, and want everyone to take care of them and they sure can’t take stress. these fools reach for the pills, the shrinks, the doctors, and all to help them get through the day, hell many women can’t even raise their kids because it is too stressful, and why did it happen, because the generation before wanted to give them more, make sure they did not want, make sure they did not have to work hard.

Stock up on your weapons, burry them and get your asses into shape and hit the books, train small teams, and make sure they are disciplined, we need commo that we can rely on so our small teams can at least report progress. I personally will not ry to imagine the outcome. I will protect my own right to bear arms as guaranteeed by the Constitution. No one wants to hold a Constitutional Convention to amend the Constitution because that will be opening a pandora’s box for this nation.
The difference:
Democracy = the majority syas what goes for all. Example.. Lynch mob.. 5 sya a person hangs.. one disagrees(the perosn being hanged). All is fair.. everyone voted and the majority decides.. irregardless if the person being hangedi s innocent or not.
Republic= The majority may influence the outcome of legislation.. but the rights of the minaority have to be as protected as thos in the majority. Example.. So to those Americans who went out to vote against a canadate Tuesday, maybe you would have been better off voting for a canadate. In other words how many voted Obama to keep McCain out, and how many voted McCain to keep Obama out, this is voting against a canadate. The revolutionary development of modern weapons within a world divided by serious ideological differences has produced a crisis in human history. It is based on three principles deemed essential to the achievement of practical progress in the disarmament field:
First, there must be immediate disarmament action:
A strenuous and uninterrupted effort must be made toward the goal of general and complete disarmament; at the same time, it is important that specific measures be put into effect as soon as possible.
Second, all disarmament obligations must be subject to effective international controls:
The control organization must have the manpower, facilities, and effectiveness to assure that limitations or reductions take place as agreed. It must also be able to certify to all states that retained forces and armaments do not exceed those permitted at any stage of the disarmament process.
Third, adequate peace-keeping machinery must be established:
There is an inseparable relationship between the scaling down of national armaments on the one hand and the building up of international peace-keeping machinery and institutions on the other. Nations are unlikely to shed their means of self-protection in the absence of alternative ways to safeguard their legitimate interests. This can only be achieved through the progressive strengthening of international institutions under the United Nations and by creating a United Nations Peace Force to enforce the peace as the disarmament process proceeds.

To Never4Fear Alex does give out alot of valuable information, but I do have the same concern as you. I got one of Alex’s videos Bohemian Grove, and what bothered me is that he interveiwed the most ignorant people he could find. Alex asked one of these people about Bohemian Grove, and asked how long he had lived in the town. The man changed his respone two to three times finally giving an answer after being coached by Alex. I like Alex Jones and respect that he stands on the side of the American people, but that’s always bothered me. Watch the movie and if somebody out there sees the same thing tell me what you think ?

many of us live out in the country…wild animals. take away my firearm, I will either have to stay indoors 24/7, or move to the city where only criminals will have firearms. hmmmm, pretty much a no win situation.

The Brady Campaign is wrong about the message of this election, as they have been and are wrong about so many things. This election was not a mandate for radical left-wing policies like more unconstitutional restrictions on the second amendment. Nebraska voted to end affirmative action. Three states, INCLUDING CALIFORNIA, voted to ban gay marriage. These are not the actions of an electorate desiring more liberal policies. The message from the election was that voters were sick and tired of Bush, sick and tired of sellouts like McCain, sick and tired of the bloated, corrupt Republican Congressmen, who were a lot more effective at getting into scandals than they were at pushing anything close to the alleged Republican agenda. They heard Obama, and said “maybe this guy will be better. let’s give him a chance”. If Obama were wise (which we know he isn’t- he’s a mere puppet of the elitists), he’d govern towards the center, to guarantee his re-election in 2012, and the solidifying of the Democrat control of Congress.

The right to bear arms is a wise addition to the Constitution. Using gang activity and ignorant gun owners as a poster to ban guns is undermining. More people are killed by car accidents each year than gunfire. Let’s take away the cars from irresponsible drivers first. THAT will make a difference. No it will not. Irresponsible drivers are irresponsible and will always get behind the wheel. Irresponsible gun owners will always find guns even when banned. Is it smart for people to own guns? Only if they are informed and educated. But our rights cannot be infringed upon just because some are stupid and irresponsible.
The time is now to strengthen and fortify DEMOCRACY not weaken it by chipping away the rights of the people.
Enemies are not always on foreign soil, hence the phrase “to protect against enemies foreign and domestic.”
