Obama’s USA Service Website Hosts Gun “Buy Back” Event

The usaservice.org website was originally set in place to facilitate Obama’s “call to service” on the national Martin Luther King Day of Service, a federally mandated “holiday” cooked up by Congress and Bill Clinton in 1994. “Individuals, businesses, non-profits, and churches from Baptist to Mormon to Scientologist are employing the site to publicize events and recruit volunteers,” writes Mark Bergin for World, a Christian magazine. “In many ways, such online organizing and activity is a picture of compassionate conservatism: privately initiated and funded opportunities to render social services.”




	Obama has pledged to to make the assault weapons ban permanent and promised to push for childproofing guns. He said he wanted to close the gun show loophole, which permits sales of firearms at gun shows without requiring a background check.

As it turns out, usaservice.org is being used as a platform for activity that is anything but the picture of compassionate conservatism. In the “Health & Public Safety” section of the website, there is a post for a gun “buy back” event that was presumably held in Chicago on Sunday, February 15. Bryan Garcia, host of the event, offered to pay $1,500 per gun and $6,000 for four guns. “We will prevent hundreds of people being shot from gang violence and other forms of gun violence,” writes Garcia. “The money given these anonymous gun donors has to be high, high enough to outweigh the need for gun owners.”

Illinois has some of the most restrictive firearm laws in the country. In order to possess or purchase firearms or ammunition, Illinois residents must have a Firearm Owner’s Identification card, which is issued by the state police. In Chicago, it is required that all firearms be registered with the local police department. Handguns are strictly outlawed and in Cook County so-called “assault weapons” and magazines that can hold more than ten rounds of ammunition are banned.

Earlier gun “buy back” programs in Chicago resulted in a record number of residents turning in guns for far less money. Reportedly 6,705 weapons were turned in for a “no questions asked” program in 2007. In 2008, Mayor Daley told Chicagoans that having a gun in their homes is “like having gasoline sitting in your home, sitting there, and you’re lighting a wick every night and you’re wondering whether or not it’s going to go off, and it goes off like that in your hand.” Daley’s irrational propaganda campaign resulted in the collection of 6,000 guns.

It is safe to say the gun buy back event posted on Obama’s USA Service was vetted by the moderators of the site. It is no secret that Obama and his supporters are militantly opposed to gun ownership and the Second Amendment.

“As a general principle, I believe that the Constitution confers an individual right to bear arms,” Obama said during the election campaign. “But just because you have an individual right does not mean that the state or local government can’t constrain the exercise of that right,” an obvious reference to Chicago’s anti-gun legislation. In 1996, when Obama was running for the Illinois state Senate, he supported a ban on the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns, a ban on “assault weapons” (that is to say all semi-automatic weapons), and mandatory waiting periods and background checks.

Earlier this week, Obama’s attorney general, Eric Holder, said “there are just a few gun-related changes” the Obama administration wants to make, including a reinstitution of a ban on the sale of assault weapons. Holder insisted restricting the Second Amendment would “have a positive impact in Mexico,” where drug cartel violence has taken a high toll. In 1994, president Clinton signed a law outlawing so-called assault weapons with a clause requiring congressional reauthorization after ten years. Congress allowed the legislation to expire in 2004.

During his confirmation hearings, Holder said he favors outlawing certain kinds of firearms and ammunition.

“Last week, over 50 Democratic lawmakers sent a letter to President Obama urging him to enforce a ban on importing assault weapons, citing rising gun violence in Mexico,” CBS News reports. “The Sinaloa Cartel, which Holder was discussing at yesterday’s press conference, is involved in drug and weapons trafficking in the U.S. and Mexico.”

Many Americans know the election of Obama and Democrat domination of Congress will translate into more restrictive gun laws. After the election, firearm dealers reported sharply higher sales. According to FBI figures for the week of November 3 to 9, the bureau received more than 374,000 requests for background checks on gun purchasers, a nearly 49 percent increase over the same period in 2007, CNN reported. Many stores ran out of models deemed to be “assault weapons,” including the AR-15 rifle.

USA Service’s posting of a gun “buy back” event is yet another indication that Obama and his supporters will continue their assault against the idea of gun ownership and the Second Amendment. If Obama, AG Holder, and the Democrat dominated Congress have their way, the entire country will resemble Chicago, where handguns are illegal and other firearms are strictly regulated.

In the book “Lethal Laws,” published by Jews for the Preservation of Firearm Ownership, we learn that authoritarian governments invariably disarmed their citizens. “The recipe for accomplishing this goal went as follows: demonizing of guns, registration, then banning and confiscation, and finally total civilian disarmament. Enslavement of the people then followed with limited resistance, as was the case in Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, Red China, Cuba and other totalitarian regimes of the 20th century,” writes Miguel A. Faria Jr.

The demonizing phase of this process is already in effect, as demonstrated by Bryan Garcia’s post on the usaservice.org website. Garcia assumes that the mere possession of firearms will result in murder and mayhem. Obama, Holder, and the Democrats are now pushing for the registration and banning of firearms. Confiscation and total disarmament will soon follow.

Fair enough. Then that statement would also imply state or local government can choose to overide laws and legislation from the fed. State rights, right Obama? I remember this program when I was living in Chicago in the late 80’s.

What this article DELIBERATELY left out is the fact that this program is to buy ILLEGAL fire arms (unregistered, illegal purchased, and usually gang related weapons).

This is the EXACT reason why Jones and lacky’s cannot be trusted. Leaving out information, twisting truths is not a “truth movement” it’s an opinionated talking point…….

Guns has very little effect without proper MILITARY training, therefore we should have a military that swears allegiance to the PEOPLE RATHER THEN THE GOVERNMENT.

But this would mean all people who wish to possess a firearm would be subject to training……That’s a reasonable demand, instead of what we have now which is a backround check that really doesn’t do much, plus promotes illegal firearm sales.

If we eliminate the sales of firearms of this country and use it as a military promotion then we can cut the amount of ACCIDENTS/GANG VIOLENCE. Plus we GUARANTEE our protection by the people we can trust to defend this country……WE THE PEOPLE.

But like usual people here would see that as a deterrence to there freedoms, BUT I would argue just the opposite, people who feel the need to defend this country (or are absolutely adamant about owning a firearm) would be able to do so MORE EFFECTIVELY. NOT TO MENTION WOULD BE FIGHTING FOR THE PEOPLE RATHER THEN FOR THE GOVERNMENT…..

I think with this plan in effect we can work at reducing police weaponry and the carrying of lethal weapons. This would also add more comfort to the people who live in this country and they wouldn’t be so fearful of a police state. LESS WEAPONS MEANS MORE FREEDOMS NOT LESS, plus leaves much less room for FATAL ERRORS.

Look I know this is a vague interpretation but in it’s simplicity it would work, NOT TO MENTION ease our daily worries and constant harassment by our officials…….WE have to somehow remove the profit from fear and bring this country to a stable less emotional state this is how to battle the ignorance that leads this country. PROFIT is no way to judge a country, and unfortunately that’s what the BIG CONTRIBUTORS believe and use there influence to manipulate our system of government to their benefit.

I’m sorry but in order to better this country it’s going to require a revolutionary concept and I believe Obama has the support to do so (however I seriously doubt he will go against the people who put him in office), BUT the potential is there and if the time comes I suggest that we take advantage of the economic turmoil we find ourselves in and make RADICAL CHANGES to better this country and make it great again. The question is; are we willing to put the effort in or are have we been so lazy for so long that we can get off the couch?

P.S by the way, my last remark should be clarified that I truly don’t think it was OUR fault for ‘getting lazy’ but rather the fault of our leaders for allowing companies to manipulate our food and water and make us completely unable to resist the temptations of there commercial products.

WE NEED TO TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK, unfortunately that statement would involve tactics that would simply destroy the commercial market and put us in a volatile state, but under no circumstances that this plan would involve violence but rather a sense of communal harmony….. Force big industry out of business and allow the free markets to be FREE.

It’s a radical concept but we can accomplish this over the next decade.

It is not illegal to have an “unregistered” gun, there is no gun registration in my state, and I would argue any law passed in any state purporting to infringe on my right to keep and bear arms by requiring gestapo like “registration” is null and void as it is contrary to constitutional law both state and federal as well as common law and natural law.

Considering the 2nd Amendment is an unalienable right, and the constant erosion of that right has been increasing, your “solution” would be the spark needed to ignite a violent revolution, especially considering the intense resentment towards the Feral Gov’t. Although, to clarify. I understand you want people to be sworn to We the People, with proper military training. While I agree to an extent, you can not force people to give up their guns unless they jump through hoops. Not because you can’t, but because it is wrong. Besides, that goes against the Constitution; the Militia’s are ready to defend it. And if free men are not willing to defend their country, said country deserves to not exist.

I’d sure hope if any foreign or domestic enemy who tried to ursurp this Constitution, they’d be meet with arms. Granted, freedom is dangerous, but I prefer the animated contest of it rather then the tranquility of servitude. Personally, I’d take the risk of Freedom over Tyranny anyday.

Private Firearms ownership is a deterrent to government abuses. Second, my father is a Vietnam combat veteran, he taught me how to shoot from the age of four. I literally have more firearms training than most cops and military personnel. Third, firearms aren’t black magic, nuclear reactors, or the space shuttle. They’re pretty straight forward to operate in a safe and proficient manner. It’s only the total boobs that never seen a real gun in their life that shake uncontrollably at the fear of a firearm spontaneously going off that are dangerous with them. If you have you’re head screwed on straight and can follow simple instructions firearms are pretty safe to handle. If you actually think that “oaths and promises” can actually restrain a government or military with criminal intent, I have this bridge in Brooklyn for sale, it’s a real fixer upper and I’ll let it go cheap. It’s a deal of a life time and you won’t regret it, I promise. Dumb ass.

Your not the only one trained to know how to use your guns, and in this day in age your sure as hell not the only martial artist. I also know my dogs will be well taken care of, and I dont mean by YOU either. You know I have found over the years those who brag usally have nothing to brag about. One thing I do know, no matter what art you say you know it wont stop bullets. And no thats not a threat, it’s fact. Just beacuse one takes martial arts classes dosent make him or her a superman or woman.
There are plenty of folks out here who have handled guns their entire lives, and there are also plenty of ex military who certianly know how to handle their guns. When you sit there acting as if your the only one who knows this, or the only one who knows that, folks tend to take offence to that. My guns have never been used to harm anyone, and I pray to God that they never have to be used to do so, ya see I dont take it lightly.
You also talked about our nation and industry, well friend our industry has been stripped away one piece at a time, and now they are fixin to kill what is left with carbon taxes. So industry without huge Government change is out of the question and you know it as well as I do.
Like I said in an earlier post the phones rang off the hooks, and the Senate and Congress voted as THEY wanted to. The will of the PEOPLE fell on deff ears. What is going on in DC today is called TREASON. We have a so called President who refuses to come foreward with proof positive that he is eligible to serve in the office. He would rather hire Lawyers to keep the facts hidden. The Constitution clearly says Natural Born, and no Duel citizen, it says this for a reason friend, and that is so no Nation can hi jack our Government. I am NOT saying that there are no changes needed to the Constitution, we would need changes to keep big Buisness out of our Government, that would include Banks, and changes to make sure that what is going on today can NEVER happen again. I dont think the Constitution is out dated , but it dose need some changes that address todays issues. Would I trust the Government to call a CON CON and change it, no I would not, they would change it to favor what they want, not to favor the people or the peoples rights.

As I said I dont think the Constitution is an out dated piece of paper as some do. The fathers of this nation were not stupid men, they knew that guns would evolve. They knew the first guns were smooth bore match locks, and they evolved to flint locks some rifled and some smooth bore. Now, I understand that they could never imagine a full auto weapon. I wouldn’t own one myself anyway, it’s a waste of ammo. But getting back to my point, they knew guns would evolve, otherwise they WOULD have said flint lock in the 2nd admendment and that is NOT what they said. It also said that that right should NOT be infringed upon, so limiting it to flint locks is infringement, so is what your proposing, you have to do this, you have to do that or you CAN’T or shouldn’t own a gun. Thats no different than the federal licens the Government wants to require all owners of semi auto’s to have. It’s called infringement to require what you or the Government want. Now if you want to change your rights to requirements to meet to have them, or if you want to give them up all together that’s your buisness, leave me and MY RIGHTS alone, THANK YOU!

Who has time to waste on a movement that has reached it’s peak anyways, Jones numbers have steadily decreased in recent years and it’s because he is his own worst enemy. You do realize that the reason why Ron Paul didn’t run as an independent was because he knew the republican party would have stolen his senate seat from him (kind of like what the dems almost did to Lieberman). They HATE him for what he did to them (embarrassing them in public is probably not a good way to get support from his party, but ALL HE DID WAS CALL IT LIKE HE SEE’S IT). He’s very smart however has to learn to play the game rather then swim against the current, ONCE he was in office he could have done some really great things….

But too late for that economic collapse is at our very doorstep yet people are still spending ridiculous amounts of money on things they will most likely have to part with anyways. A gun might be your only form of currency left by the time the collapse comes so enjoy it while you have it and realize this; when it finally comes down to feeding your family or having your weapons what you gonna do?

The Federal Government will swat us like flies? You mean like they swatted the Viet Cong, Taliban, and Al Queda? Yeah, they have helicopters, tanks, and whiz bangs a plenty, But who friggin makes em? Who shipps the parts around, and fuel, what about food for the gubmint? Lemme tell ya sumething, we’ve got caves here in MO that would make the taliban jealous. And they ain’t all on a map neither. The people have the home field advantage, and the advantage of being able to melt away and strike anywhere anytime. There is a reason that the Colonists were able to beat the British, even outnumbered and without a shiny navy, or well trained military. Tanks, planes, helicopters and humvees need fuel to move, ammunition to shoot, and people to operate them, and those people need food, medicine, and sundry other things that have to come from somewhere, and need to travel to someplace else to be used. The Federal Government would be overwhelmed trying to protect it’s logistics from an enemy that is EVERYWHERE. This is why they want to take our guns BEFORE they get busy with the hard core oppression. Go watch RED DAWN, PLATOON, HAMBURGER HILL and BLACK HAWK DOWN, then repeat until you understand.

Its not just about the 2nd amendment, it’s about all of them. They are all GOD GIVEN rights that I will NOT give up without a fight. Yes at this point the fight is with words and information. As we all saw with the calls against the first bailout, words did not seem to matter the Senate and Congress chose to ignore the people and pass a unconstitutional bailout bill. Why do I say unconstitutional well read this.

Davy Crockett was out trying to get elected. He came upon a farmer plowing his fields. Rep. Crockett was finally able to engage the man, Horatio Bunce, in conversation where he told Crockett he had voted for him in the past but could not any more. When asked why it was explained that Mr. Bunce followed the papers from Washington. He had read where there had been a great fire in Georgetown that Davy Crockett and others had helped put out leaving thousands of men, women and children out on the street with nothing but the close on their back. The House passed a $20,000 bill to rebuild Georgetown.
Mr. Bunce in the conversation asked Colonel Crockett “Well, Colonel, where do you find in the Constitution any authority to give away the public money in charity!”

Well Colonel Crockett was stumped and tried to justify the decision to vote to give the money to Georgetown. Mr. Bunce responded, “it is not the amount, Colonel, that I complain of; it is the principle. In the first place, the Government ought to have in the Treasury no more than enough for its legitimate purposes. But that has nothing to do with the question. And this was the result of the lesson learned in my other post:

Now, what my point is here as I said, its not just about the 2nd amendment its all of them, and what is being done in DC that is un-Constitutional. As anyone can see from this, it states no where in the constitution that anyone or a Bank or buisness should be bailed out with the money of the PEOPLE. To me the 2nd amendment is very important, it helps to keep Government in line, in other words from opressing We The People. Yes opression is going on, more and more each day, and it is treason against the Constitution, and We The People. So were the bailouts.

In case you didn’t read my second post (to the top), I covered the monetary system argument already!!!

Fiat money is bad, and lowers the value of our currency, but unfortunately the global markets don’t trust OURS or ANY government to control the value of money, that’s why the fed reserve was created, HOWEVER this doesn’t mean that there isn’t a flaw in the fed itself……

Reading my comments might actually help in debunking my theories, but you sir are at least thinking…….The rest of the comments just resort to name calling…

The 2nd ammendment doesn’t cover the use of modern technology, that’s why in a responsible way we should consider revamping it to include such technology HOWEVER make it a necessity to learn the proper way to use these weapons!!!

Civilians with guns are hardly a deterrent to the government, AS A MATTER OF FACT there the ones that PROFIT heavily on the sales of those weapons (LEGAL OR NOT)…

But………I appreciate your opinions none the less, at least you conducted yourself in a civil and mature way rather then resorting to ignorant and irate comments that prove my point rather then contradict it.

Honestly, Einstein, I agree that there could be more training. However, I think that until there is an actually study done on how many of the gun owners across America are trained, and know how to operate thier fire arms safely, you should really stop arguing. From the sounds of it, the majority of people writing here in opposition to you know how to safely use and have been using fire arms. I think you will find that the majority of gun owners are either people who are well educated on firearm usage and safety (ex military, police officers, thier family members, people who have been shooting most of thier lives) or gang members. I would love it if there were less firearms in the hands of gang members. This buy back is not helping that at all. They buy a gun on the street for $400, sale for $1500, then buy another one and $1100 for their crack! Way to think that one all the way through!!! Have you ever wondered why everything is not spelled out to a “T” in the constitution?!?! No debate required, only common sense. Criminals are not going to ’sell’ their guns to the government. Nor will illegal immigrants and drug lords give them up. This is asked only of folks like me: law abiding citizens.

Who needs assault weapons? I hate the thought of feeling like I need to own one and know how to use it. However, it is becoming clear that I may soon need an assault weapon to protect myself from Mexican drug cartels, gangs, and terrorist groups, because my government and the police seem to be too impotent, fearful, apathetic, or unable. I have family and dogs to protect and I’m not going down with a baseball bat or a little .22.

As for the so called “assault weapons ban”, is there any evidence at all that banning some types of rifles based on cosmetic features like a pistol grip or bayonette mount has any impact on crime? Of course not, these kinds of guns are used very rarely in any type of crime for the simple reason that they’re too big to hide under a jacket.

It’s all just incrementalism, if people will give up some kinds of rifles, then in a little while it will be some kinds of handguns, then all handguns, and so on.

People will care if they lose their guns. It is a blatant violation of the 2nd amendment. The people have the right to bear arms. What concept about that does your tittie-loving warped mind not understanda bout such a concept? The 2nd amendment should not be amended, it should be praised in the fact that it may be the only possibility we have left of taking back our corrupt nation.

I thought Obama was the anti-christ when he took the reigns, but he’s starting to grow on me.

I despise guns, and have thought that this is necessary for a long time. I’ve actually had really bad luck with friends getting shot. During a home intrusion..my friend’s father shot his son! He lived, but I also had another friend die in a similar home invasion, but she didn’t make it (RIP Natelie) and it was the intruder who killed her. That’s not the only reasons though. People are SO stupid these days in THIS country, especially. Sure there are smart people, who do handle guns properly. However, it only takes on stupid person to kill someone on accident. Its not that I don’t think we should have protection from a future civil war or intruders…I just think that a lot of people in the United States are just too lame and stupid to own a gun, yet they think they need one SO bad that they buy 3 or 4, keep them loaded, and accidentally shoot someone they didn’t mean to. It happens A LOT, and it’s really stupid. I think this needs to happen, there are other means of security in this technological age. I just don’t understand why people are so gun-happy.

First: An alarm system will tell you that someone has broken into your home. That is it. It won’t get them out. A gun will.
What “other means of protection” are you talking about here that have made our Second Amendment rights irrelevant ? Robots with laser eyes guarding your doorstep? Let’s be practical here. Hell, even if you don’t want to be armed out of voluntary choice, and if you think an alarm system/Robot-Laser Army is all you need, then you should at least respect the constitutional rights of others to do so.
Second: I am at a loss to explain why you would advocate this point: “They are trying to take the guns back from the wrong hands, and to do that, they can’t discriminate on who.” Please familiarize yourself with basic Constitutional law. All Americans have a right to “innocence until proven guilty.” You can’t just let the government run wild, breaking in people’s homes and taking whatever they want. That would be a fascist situation. In America, the government is subservient to YOU (at least, it is supposed to be). Your argument is like saying “There are some people in America that deserve to be in jail, so let’s put all Americans in jail, because the government can’t discriminate.” If these circumstances are appealing to you, I suggest you move to one of the totalitarian dictatorships on our planet– well, on second thought, just stick around here in America for a few more years . =p

That may already be too late, since the criminal has already decided that your life isn’t worth dog piss and no matter what… you are going to have to defend yourself until help arrives. Call the police some time and see how long it takes them to show up. Now walk around your home and pretend to shoot each bed. The problem that I see in all of this is that other than some posters to this site people don’t seem to be making the connection between gun control and attacks on other issues like animal ID, property right etc…

The battle is for freedom guns are a major part of the equation but so is food.

Alex I’m not asking you to form a coalition but to reach out and educate the groups that have lobbyist on the floor at the state capitals.

Alex gun owners/consumer/organic farm groups can all benefit from the Sovereignty resolutions that are being introduced at the state level.

They can also help get these resolutions passed.

What they just need a seed to be planted by pointing them in the right direction.

Hitler had wonderful notions for safety behind his gun control movements as well. Some of his speeches are reflected in modern BS politics. He also had great public works that rivaled FDR’s. He had introduced Germans to national health care, national labor grades and nationalized insurance. He has a national civilian police force which later became the SS. He had the best technology in the world and the best trained army. He had actively perused a relationship with the Jews that founded Israel and sent many Jews to Israel. He had an economic policy that drew praise from all over the world. And he started nations temporary displacement camps (FEMA camps) for the Jews on their way to Israel.

The Germans gave up their guns too easily and embraced the Nazi government which was supposed to raise them from the depression. They gave their rights to assemble and their rights to free speech.

The only difference between Nazi Germany and the current government is the internet. Without this tool to be used as a right to assemble most would feel very much in the dark, overwhelmed and unaware of what is coming down the road. Our media is government controlled. You need a permit and permission to assemble in public. We are in the next great depression and we have a illegal president who places his own vision of what the country should be before the constitution.

Our republic has been taken over by a oligarchy government which has no real regards for our constitution. That has already happened. It happened a long time ago. We have to figure out how badly we want our republic back. Because the oligarchy government currently in control will not give it back to us. I will not debate the necessity to protect ourselves from our government, because we may be impotent, regardless. However we are impotent without arms for sure.

Otherwise, No debate required, only common sense. Criminals are not going to ’sell’ their guns to the government. Nor will illegal immigrants and drug lords give them up. This is asked only of folks like me: law abiding citizens.

Who needs assault weapons? I hate the thought of feeling like I need to own one and know how to use it. However, it is becoming clear that I may soon need an assault weapon to protect myself from Mexican drug cartels, gangs, and terrorist groups, because my government and the police seem to be too impotent, fearful, apathetic, or unable. I have family and dogs to protect and I’m not going down with a baseball bat or a little .22.

Has anyone else been noticing places like Walmart not completely replenishing their shelves. My local walmart is not even restocking Pellets for your air rifle let alone normal ammunition. All their knives are on clearance, the camping gear is low. I know it could be do to fear but my area, the people are alot of the “oh everything will be ok” type who couldn’t survive three days without the walmart, etc.

I was driving by the National Guard Readiness Center in Arlington the other day…there are so many soldiers around there, they have been increasing in activity recently..maybe we can go there and talk to soldiers. I think going to the Whitehouse on Saturday afternoons when all the tourists are out and about can be effective. Or we can go to the office of the CFR or Tri-Lateral.

Need info: exactly how does China fit into NWO and why would our leaders wish to let China invade? I’m thinking more along these lines: When we can’t pay China back and they are ready to collect on their collateral, the gov’t will just order all of us to fork over what’s left of our money under that threat. We’ll have no choice and viola, instant nationalization.
