Oil Tycoon: Our Troops Died … We’re “Entitled” to Sweet Contracts in Iraq!

After all that, it looks like the Iraqis are cutting some big deals to develop their massive oil wealth — but withthemushy Europeans and the damn Chi-coms!
Iraq’s Oil Minister Hussain al-Shahristani told a Washington conference on Wednesday that his government was happy with the energy auction it held earlier this year. The auction was the first chance for foreign oil firms to compete for Iraqi oil since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003.
BP and the Chinese oil company CNPC were the only firms to win a contract in Iraq’s bid round this summer, the first chance for foreign oil firms to compete for Iraqi oil since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003. Seven other oil and gas fields failed to attract bidders on the terms Iraq offered.
But a consortium headed by Italy’s ENI (ENI.MI: Quote, Profile, Research) said last week it signed a deal to develop the giant Zubair field for a remuneration fee of $2 a barrel. At Iraq’s oilfield auction in June, the consortium refused to go below $4.40 a barrel.
Another consortium headed by Exxon is still in the running for one project, but that doesn’t mollify hedge-fund gazillionaire — and natural gas honcho — T-Boone Pickens. He’s none-too-happy:
Oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens told Congress on Wednesday that U.S. energy companies are “entitled” to some of Iraq’s crude because of the large number of American troops that lost their lives fighting in the country and the U.S. taxpayer money spent in Iraq.

“They’re opening them (oil fields) up to other companies all over the world … We’re entitled to it,” Pickens said of Iraq’s oil. “Heck, we even lost 5,000 of our people, 65,000 injured and a trillion, five hundred billion dollars.”

“We leave there with the Chinese getting the oil,” Pickens said.
Nothing new — In August T-Boone called on the administration to “demand” oil contracts from Iraq before considering a withdrawal ($$). But it is an unusually brazen admission that many energy bigs did in fact consider “blood-for-oil” to be a straightforward deal.

And what has always struck me about this proposition is how bizarre that kind of mercantilism is in a globalized world. After all, what is an “American” energy company anyway? These giants may be headquartered in the U.S. (where they get all sorts of sweet tax breaks), and their top management may be American — folks like T-Boone Pickens. A majority of their profits may end up in Americans’ accounts, but at the end of the day they’re multinationals owned by investors from around the world.
So, let’s look more closely at T-Boone’s premise that “we’re” entitled to Iraq’s oil because “we” paid a dear price in blood and treasure to “liberate” it.
Most Americans won’t gain a thing if Iraq’s oil is firmly in the hand of “American” oil companies– it’s a global energy market and whether a barrel of oil is controlled by Exxon or Lukoil doesn’t impact its price on that market. A relatively small number of Americans would benefit — Big Oil’s employees, shareholders and the employees and shareholders down its U.S.-based supply chain.
A relatively small number of Americans have paid a huge price in Iraq directly. Not just the 4,300 killed or 31,500 physically wounded, but the entire million-plus who have served there at one point or another.
So a small group would make (sometimes) huge gains if “we” had the loot, and another small group would have paid a huge direct price for those gains. But all of us who pay taxes are picking up a huge tab — a loss of national treasure that will be staggering by the time the last disabled vet is laid to rest decades from now.
And of course the ultimate price for the gains of T-Boone and his oil buddies will have been paid by the Iraqis — millions of them have been killed, internally displaced or sent fleeing to other countries to live as refugees and all of them continue to live under the weight of constant civil conflict.
That’s how the winners and losers shake out. And when you think about it that way Pickens’ whining is simply shameless.

The few, functionally literate people, posting in these blogs, are all capable of understanding the differences between non interventionism and mercantilism without all the needless wordplay.
Seeing the economic trends which have prevailed, at least since the Reconstruction Era, the more discerning troops should have been asking themselves, all along, whether they were risking their health for foreign business interests, or domestic ones.

As an Iraq War Veteran, I say NO BLOOD FOR OIL!!!! I’m angered at T. Boone’s suggestion that the U.S. is “entitled” to Iraqi oil because American troops died there!!!! I have news for Mr. T. Boone Pickens, the U.S. soldiers didn’t sign up to fight and die for oil!!! They, along with the American people, were lied to by the Bush Administration about Saddam having WMD’s, ties to Osama Bin Laden, links to Al-Qeada, playing a role in the 9/11 terror attacks, and to bring democracy to Iraq and the Middle-East. Now, 6 years and trillions of dollars later, Iraq just as Afghanistan, is a quagmire for the U.S. and the other cost of the illegal invasion/occupation include:
1.) Over 5,000 U.S. troops killed (the official count).
2.) Over 1.5 million Iraqis killed.
3.) Over 2 million Iraqis are now refugees.
4.) Over tens of thousands of U.S. soldiers are injured both physically (such as traumatic brain injuries and lost limbs) and psychologically (traumatic distress disorder and suicides).
And unfortunately, this is likely to continue due to the “POVERTY DRAFT” that will supply a new crop of fresh troops due to the bad economy at home. But, of course such facts don’t seem to
bother wealthy people such as Mr. Pickens who isn’t likely to have any children or grandchildren serving in the military.

Last I read George Soros bought 2 million shares of Haliburton after his front media companies (move on .org, media matters, Huffington Post and Daily Koas ran the stock down. They laid off it and the price has tripled. Soros even manipulated Halibuton stock to make who knows how many millions!

I wrote this 911 article for people who haven’t been exposed to 911 truth and who aren’t likely to take the innitiative to research it themselves. I believe we can still reach those people. They are not going to go digging into 911 at this late date, but if they take fifteen minutes to read the article it will leave nagging questions in their mind that will not be easily dismissed.
People who are now on the sidelines can still be brought into the game. They may never be first string but they could at least become supporters. More than anything, people just need a little help to wake up from their propaganda enduced stupor. I would like to see people all over the world print it and use it as a tool, as a handout, to put on windshields etc.

I have an urgent message for you, more important than any message you can hear. But God has provided a way for each to escape the lake of fire. He sent his Son Jesus(God manifest in the flesh-1 Timothy 3:16) who was conceived by a virgin by the Holy Spirit of God,lived a sinless life, and suffered a horrible death/shed blood and rose again 3 days later to take the penalty of YOUR sins so you dont have to pay for them in hell for eternity! He loved you so much which is why he did it! He is the only one to have fufilled the law perfectly(sinless) and paid the price of the entire world’s sins so that man could be saved on the merits of His perfection(see Romans 5:19). All you must do to be saved is BELIEVE in Him(trust in Him to save you as a sinner). You must admit your lost sinful condition to Him/that you’re worthy of hell, and ask Him to save you by placing complete trust in Jesus ALONE for salvation(an example in the Word of someone doing this- “And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.” Luke 18:13).It is not even partly by yourselves that you can be saved, but only by the merits of Jesus Christ!

No works or anything you do can save you! May God open your eyes, that one day I may see you in heaven. Read the Word of God(the 1611 King James version- NOT the modern versions, they are corrupt) before rejecting it! Death is fleeting. You may NOT have tomorrow! For death comes when we least expect it! Make sure you are saved TODAY! The Bible condemns the rich, the wealthy, and those who take advantage of the poor, so it CANNOT have been made up by the elite. Because the Word clearly CONDEMNS people such as those! It declares all mankind as sinners(myself included).

One very important point to make, is that when the government of America changes to the American Republic it will leave behind the oligarchy of men and women that have ruined the lives of so many Americans over the centuries. Judah Ben-Hur is a real person with a real name who is part of a change that is brewing in America to go up against the current system of government with more than just an idea. American’s have become complacent with those that know how to demoralize the poor and frighten the rest. They do not serve the public interest anymore, and will be replaced.

The Obama government is not protecting the American people and will not as long as the current leaders are allowed to rein in government.
Thus a new government for the people and by the people will take place in 2012 without the consent of the current system of government and its business moguls. Once the American military makes its choice, change will be much easier for Americans.

Well if our troops died over there than ONLY the FAMILIES of those troops should get any of the SWEET money from the oil. If any government official or American oil company so much as comes into the same room as one red cent of that money they should be arrested on the spot and jailed for life!
