OK Trooper Who Assaulted Ambulance Driver Suspended for Excessive Force

Troopers Daniel Martin and Tommy Allen were placed on administrative leave after a Holdenville man filed a complaint after he was arrested on Saturday.
“Basically, there was a traffic stop last night and out of that an individual was jailed and the guy apparently contacted the department today wanting to file a complaint,” said patrol Capt. Chris West. “Based on the nature of the complaint and what Martin went through, we thought we’d just go ahead and pull him off and investigate.”
The Holdenville man became involved after the initial traffic stop, he said.
An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper who was suspended after being involved in a scuffle with an EMT in May was put on paid administrative leave Sunday in connection with an unrelated incident.

True i used to be in law enforcement. Cops look at it this way, you may not have done anything yet, but you will eventually. I know where the brutality comes from, they hate criminals and everyone around them is a potential criminal, so that hate and anger is taken out on people. I had to quit because it was driving me crazy, i started seeing enemies in my own family. Cops have the highest rate of divorce in the country, now you know why.

Yes we can blame them for this! They hired him, they allowed him to continue working after his obvious continual lapse in judgement, they were just “protecting their own”. They want people like him on the streets, they need them to do their bidding. The system attracts these jackasses. Where do you think they get the creepy people that will do anything they tell them to do? You can’t really send out recruiting pamphlets saying “sadistic psychos wanted for highway patrol duty, long hours, but you get to torture and extort pregnant mothers and ambulances on the way to the emergency room”, so they hire people and then they secretly reward them and pass them through the system and BAM, the next thing you know they are in the DEA as a dept head, kicking in doors, beating people, and just having a great time. We only know about this guy because he’s on the radar, how many are doing this stuff that we never hear about? By some strange twist of fate, when their behavior gets them shot by a citizen that won’t tolerate their B.S., its a “tragedy”… whatever. Don’t try to tell me it doesn’t work this way, I have several friends that are “good cops” and they truly want to help people and they have told me for years this stuff goes on constantly in all offices and they get to sit by and be passed up for promotion for “not being aggressive enough”. The ambulance worker did initially refuse to get cuffed and fought the arresting officer off. If I remeber properly that Ambulance driver was a LARGE man and those two smaller cops had a tough time subduing him. Either way, with national exposure you would think they would have kept him on a desk.

This cop, like so many others was entrusted with a duty to protect and defend the citizens in his jurisdiction. He has abused that, and demonstrated complete disdain for those he is sworn to protect. He needs to be charged with assault just like any other citizen would be, then a jury of his peers–the people he is sworn to defend–will be able to judge him for the crimes he’s committed.
