UPI Editor Equates 9/11 Truth Activists With Fort Hood Killer

There’s so much going on in the USA that warrants attention these days that it’s hard to know where to start.  But, since I’m an economist I’m going to start here.

“There are families not eating at the end of the month,” said Stephen Quinn, executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Wal-Mart Stores, and “literally lining up at midnight” at Wal-Mart stores waiting to buy food when paychecks or government checks land in their accounts.

Among the steps Wal-Mart is taking to address the changes in shopping habits, Mr. Quinn listed an overhaul of the retailer’s private-label brand, Great Value, which is promoted in commercials describing how families can fix dinners with Great Value products “for less than $2 a serving.”

The really sad thing about this blurb is that I got it from the Media & Advertising section of the NY Times. It did not come from the op-ed page, it did not come from the business section nor the politics section.  It’s there because Walmart is having to work on its product mix to reflect hunger in those families living below the poverty living in one of the richest countries in the world –The United States–and I am deeply ashamed as a citizen of that country to read this anywhere STILL after all these years.

There’s been an academic discussion about the disconnect between what some of our nation’s statistics tell us is going on and the reality on the ground.  There was a conference this weekend to talk about re-working the way the nation calculates its GDP.  This is extremely important.  Because of globalization, we are most likely over stating our performance in way that is throwing off our policy targets.  We are losing per capita income from the lowest to middle quintiles and we are hemorrhaging well-paying jobs for our most vulnerable citizens.  They are not able to get enough to live on and they are not wealthy enough to buy health care insurance or to pay premium taxes to feed an already over-bloated, costly, and inefficient industry.

A widening gap between data and reality is distorting the government’s picture of the country’s economic health, overstating growth and productivity in ways that could affect the political debate on issues like trade, wages and job creation.

The shortcomings of the data-gathering system came through loud and clear here Friday and Saturday at a first-of-its-kind gathering of economists from academia and government determined to come up with a more accurate statistical picture.

The fundamental shortcoming is in the way imports are accounted for. A carburetor bought for $50 in China as a component of an American-made car, for example, more often than not shows up in the statistics as if it were the American-made version valued at, say, $100. The failure to distinguish adequately between what is made in America and what is made abroad falsely inflates the gross domestic product, which sums up all value added within the country.

American workers lose their jobs when carburetors they once made are imported instead. The federal data notices the decline in employment but fails to revalue the carburetors or even pinpoint that they are foreign-made. Because it seems as if $100 carburetors are being produced but fewer workers are needed to do so, productivity falsely rises — in the national statistics.

    • A d v e r t i s e m e n t
    • iphone app

The most interesting thing about this is that the argument is that our workers supposedly have become increasingly more productive over the last decade or so. What we might be measuring are impacts from trade instead.  This goes a long way in explaining why the returns on labor (MRP or marginal revenue product) and the returns on capital are becoming so disparate.

The statistical distortions can be significant. At worst, the gross domestic product would have risen at only a 3.3 percent annual rate in the third quarter instead of the 3.5 percent actually reported, according to some experts at the conference. The same gap applies to productivity. And the spread is growing as imports do.

That may help to explain why the recovery from the 2001 recession was a jobless one for many months and why the recovery from this recession is likely to generate few jobs for many months.

In addition, more detailed import data would help to explain wage inequality, by linking some low wages more accurately to particular industries exposed to import competition.

On another front, many argue that labor productivity is rising faster than the pay of workers who made the greater productivity possible. That argument would be watered down if more accurate data showed that productivity had been overstated.

Just as more and more working class families fall into the cracks, we also have the latest sham of health care where families now struggling to make ends meet with face a tax if they don’t buy health insurance from overpriced insurance industry plans.  Let me point you back to a piece in Politico for this beauty.

Page 29, sentence one of the bill introduced by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont) says: “The consequence for not maintaining insurance would be an excise tax.”

And the rest of the bill is clear that the Finance Committee does, in fact, consider it a tax: “The excise tax would be assessed through the tax code and applied as an additional amount of Federal tax owed.”

The bill requires every American, with few exceptions, to carry health insurance. To enforce this individual mandate, the Senate Finance Committee created the excise tax as a penalty for people who don’t have insurance – and it can run as much as $3,800 a year per family.

The House bill also refers to the penalties for not carrying insurance as a tax. It calls for a “tax on individuals without acceptable health care coverage” and amends the tax code to implement it.

I have to ask what it is wrong with this country?  It seems to pushing its poor to the brink of destruction during a time of when its also funding (through direct funds and also extremely low interest rates) arbitrage profits for the already rich at places like Goldman Sachs.   We might as well just call them all Princes and call ourselves the new corporate serfs because we’re going to be paying for our indentured status for some time under what’s going on right now. We’re tithing for the benefit of huge financial institutions be they investment bankers, insurance, or mortgage brokers.   They’ve become the residents of the neoGothic cathedrals of the 21st century dark ages of America.  We’re back to ‘Still Hungry in America’ and this is ever so wrong.

Oh, meanwhile, via CNN breaking news:

The Dow hits 10,170 in intraday trading, its highest level in more than a year.

First this is the devils domain. Second, if the people don’t have or don’t elect a government that follows the Commandments and the principles that Jesus taught, what would you expect? When the people turn wholehearted to Him, then they will SEE through the deceit and exactly who they are electing. Just like the NWO stuff, once you are awakened, you realize yourself who the bad guys are by what they say or represent. When you really learn the Bible, not just read it, but really learn it and live by it, God will show you how to read people too. It’s no science, it’s faith and it works.

Study the proverbs then try to live by it. Check out the book titled: The Secret Kingdom by Pat Robertson. It will teach you the Kingdom Laws.

Adam says: God, that is impossible, I see it everyday, Good, Evil, Right, Wrong?

God says: Oh Adam, you are now divided. For I am the Creator of Everything, and never did I divide you with these words.

Adam’s Heart fills with the Love of God, Tears fall down his face uncontrollably, the Warmth of God fills every part of him, so that he may know him.

Adam shouts out, ” For it is all this from Satan that is amongst the people, he has divided us, our lives are now decided by these words and practices, for God has created everything perfect, and in balance, everything is how it is supposed to be”. It is not our place to question the almighty and merciful God.

God says: Now Adam, go forth and tell the world they have been tricked again, by Satan, tell them it is not the time for division amongst the people, but a time of oneness, and balance.

      IS SATAN REAL

Yes the Bible teaches that Satan the Devil is, indeed, a real person. Critics of the bible, however, scoff at such a portrayal of the Devil. Satan, they say, merely represents the principle of evil that resides in humans.

Should we be surprised by the confusion regarding Satan’s true identity? Not at all. To illustrate: A criminal might wipe his fingerprints from a crime scene so that he may conceal his identity and thus continue his illegal activity undetected. Similarly, Satan is a criminal mastermind who is content to operate behind the scenes, promoting moral corruption. Jesus clearly identified Satan as the one responsible for the evil state of human affairs. Jesus called Satan “the ruler of this world.” -John 12:31.

Where did the Devil come from? Originally created as a perfect spirit creature in heaven, this outlaw angel made himself the Devil when he became obsessed with the desire to have humans worship him instead of God. The Bible records a conversation here on earth between Satan and Jesus in which the Devil revealed his selfish ambition. Satan tried to get Jesus to “fall down and do an act of worship” to him-Matthew 4:8, 9.

Likewise, in conversation with God, as recorded in the book of Job, Satan revealed his motives. He would stop at nothing to influence humans to renounce God. -Job 1:13-19; 2:7, 8

Consider: If Satan conversed with Jehovah God and Jesus Christ, how could Satan possibly be merely the principle of evil that resides in others? There is absolutely no evil in God or his Son! Clearly, then, Satan is a real person-an evil spirit creature who has no respect for Jehovah or for Jesus.

The corrupt state of human affairs bears testimony to the existence of a real Devil. The nations of this world let surplus food rot while their hungry populations starve. The nations store up weapons of mass destruction for mutual annihilation. Yet, most people are blind to source of such hateful, self-destructive behavior. Why?

The Bible reveals that Satan “has blinded the minds of the unbelievers.” (2Corinthians 4:4) To manipulate humanity, Satan employs an invisible organization. He is “the ruler of the demons.” (Matthew 12:24) Just as a boss of an organized crime ring can run a large illegal empire without revealing himself to all those involved, so Satan uses his insidious organization of wicked angels to control masses of people who remain largely unaware of his role or influence.

How thankful we can be that the Bible unmasks the Devil and exposes his organization! We can thus take steps to resist the Devil’s influence. The Bible admonishes us: “Subject yourselves… to God; but oppose the Devil, and he will flee from you.”- James4:7.

UK surveillance plan to go ahead
      By Dominic Casciani
      BBC News

      Facebook
Social networks: Data recorded – but not content

The Home Office says it will push ahead with plans to ask communications firms to monitor all internet use.
Ministers confirmed their intention despite concerns and opposition from some in the industry.
The proposals include asking firms to retain information on how people use social networks such as Facebook.
Some 40% of respondents to the Home Office’s consultation opposed the plans – but ministers say communication interception needs to be updated.
Both the police and secret security services have legal powers in the UK to intercept communications in the interests of combating crime or threats to national security.
But the rules largely focus on communications over telephones and do not cover the whole range of internet communications now being used.
The Home Office says it wants to change the law to compel communication service providers (CSPs) to collect and retain records of communications from a wider range of internet sources, from social networks through to chatrooms and unorthodox methods, such as within online games.
Ministers say that they do not want to create a single government-owned database and only intend to ask CSPs to hold a record of a contact, rather than the actual contents of what was said.
      Technically challenging
Police and other agencies would then be able to ask CSPs for information on when a communication was sent and between whom.
REASONS TO CHANGE WHAT DATA CAN BE KEPT
More communication via computers rather than phones
Companies won’t always keep all data all the time
      Anonymity online masks criminal identities
More online services provided from abroad
Data held in many locations and difficult to find
      Source: Home Office consultation
In theory, law enforcement agencies will be able to link that information to specific devices such as an individual’s smartphone or laptop.
The proposals are technically challenging, as they would require a CSP to sort and organise all third-party traffic coming and going through their systems. The estimated £2bn bill for the project includes compensation for the companies involved.
Home Office minister David Hanson said: “Communications data is crucial to the fight against crime and in keeping people safe. It is a highly technical area and one which demands a fine balance between privacy and maintaining the capabilities of the police and security services.
“The consultation showed widespread recognition of the importance of communications data in protecting the public and an appreciation of the challenges which rapidly changing technology poses.
“We will now work with communications service providers and others to develop these proposals, and aim to introduce necessary legislation as soon as possible.”
      Opposition and concern
The consultation results reveal that 90 of the 221 responses opposed the basic principles that the government should be seeking a method to retain or look at the data.
The Home Office said that there was a “widespread but not unanimous” recognition of the role of data in protecting the public. But many concerns related to the detail of what would be done with the information.
Christopher Graham, the Information Commissioner responsible for overseeing the protection of private information, told the Home Office that while he recognised that the police needed to use communication data to stop crime, this in itself was not a justification to collect all possible data passing through the internet.
“The proposal represents a step change in the relationship between the citizen and the state,” said Mr Graham.
“For the first time, this proposal is asking CSPs to collect and create information they would not have previously held and to go further in conducting additional processing on that information.
“Evidence for this proposal must be available to demonstrate that such a step change is necessary and proportionate.”

The federal reserve lists about 256 million ozs on its books. Is it not time for the “people ” to know how much gold and silver is held available to the “people” that is not owned by foreign banks, governments? Germany has had “their” gold held by US entities for years, and now they want it back.Guess what? It aint happening.Other countries are demanding delivery with the same results.Recently an EU bank had to keep the Comex from default with about a million oz delivery. How can that be? The country has been looted of gold and silver by the elite, and all we got is this paper that we presently have to pay interest on to use, through tax and inflation. So in a left-right paradigm, al lthat is needed are for two men from opposite “sides” to cooperate, and you end up with the same damned thing.

All the false left-right paradigm does is make conspiracies a necessity fro the monopolization of power, while confusing and misleading the masses to believe that they still have a choice, long after any meaningful choices have vanished.

If there’s one thing I’m absolutely certain of, it’s that we can no more *complain* our way out of this problem than we can *borrow* our way out of debt.

As my favorite author once put it:

“Social reform is not to be secured by noise and shouting; by complaints and denunciation; by the formation of parties, or the making of revolutions; but by the awakening of thought and the progress of ideas. Until there be correct thought, there cannot be right action; and when there is correct thought, right action *will* follow. Power is always in the hands of the masses of men. What oppresses the masses is their own ignorance, their own short-sighted selfishness.” — Henry George, Social Problems, p. 242

It all comes down to this: either We the People (a) organize across both party and ideological lines at the grassroots level for the purpose of exerting aggressive, non-stop pressure on Congress to implement urgently-needed reform measures that most of us agree on, or (b) spend the rest of our “lives” as impoverished SLAVES to a tiny handful of criminal, parasitic, ruling class oligarchs:

mainstream media is either stupidly lame or is hiding the truth to most people. i believe they are involved in deceit by hiding the truth from people but people are on to their game. eventually there will be a revolution here and the politicians will be the first ones to go followed by the elite and a new government will form by the people and for the people. down with tyranny!!!

    22. Citizen Says:

Nineveh was spared because it heeded the warning advice of Jonah the Prophet, thereby doing penance by fasting and austere practices out of a just obligation to God for their carnal induglgences and neglect of God’s laws. Our fellow citizens have ignored God for the most part putting their own selfish interests first and so, “the first shall be last” in consderation by the Creator Who respects us in the order in which we respect Him — make no mistake about that! Usurpers of the things of creation are over seen and overruled by the Creator just as surely and more absolutely than any worldly overlord who yhou can be sure would not let his underlings get one over on him when it comes to his own property.
So, in God’s Providence the ingrates, the usurpers, the wilfully negligent will be “put on a diet” against their own will because the Divine Will which abides in his creatures (every plant, animal, vegetable, fruit, seed, will rebel against the rebellious spirit of man and refuse him their bounty leaving mankind to labor to even scratch out survival). God is not cruel. Man is cruel and the measure of his ingratitude and trust in our Heavenly Father will only incur a false independence from Him leaving us to worship the only real “false gods” prohibited by the 1st Commandment — our egos, for in such we worship ourselves then as gods which will gain us nothing but sorrow for we are bereft of our own resources apart from He Who is The Provider. Remember the following: Sow a thought — reap an act. Sow an act — reap a habit. Sow a habit — reap a character. Sow a character — reap a destiny!
We reap what we sow; therefore sow blessings. Sow gratitude. Sow virtue. Sow charity. The list is long but rewarding, and ALL benefit ultimately until the society of man becomes integral, wholesome, and at peace and harmony, driving back the darkness so that all might bask in the sunshine of God’s love and providence.
Remember one last and constant thing throughout each day: GOD SEES ME

I would like for States to start the US Constitutional Convention Process. This would be great and it will also show all Americans that the paid officials are not on our side. I bet it would start a Revolution no doubt in my mind. They would round us al up of course and put Americans in jail. I really hate to say this but only born Americans should be allowed into Congress so our Political process is not hijack anymore as it is today.

under contract law, i didn’t sign anything, and you’re not the boss of me. if the argument is the government, ie the people, have to pay my medical bills because I am unable to, the government must produce those bills and demonstrate it has paid them, for starters. if it’s a tax on existence, i didn’t sign anything and you did nothing to bring my existence about, so your claim is null and void.
