    June 22, 2008

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva recently revealed that the South American countries are planning for a common currency as part of the integration of the individual countries into the Union of South American Nations. This integration is patterned after the formation of the European Union, and parallels the plan for the North American Union.

The union of South American nations would create a trade block designed to be competitive with the European and North American trade blocks. Central to the formation of the union is the creation of a central bank to oversee the new common currency that would replace the currencies of the individual countries in the block. In a recent broadcast, President Lula stated that he sees the implementation of this plan as not being a fast one.

In his message, the president stressed the need to help the countries of South America that are economically weak, such as Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia. "We have to help them because the stronger the countries in South America economically are, the more tranquility, peace, democracy, trade, companies, jobs, incomes and development", he is quoted at ((http://www.nuwireinvestor.com/articles/…) .

Another unfolding feature of the South American Union similar to that of the North American Union is its dependence on newly created infrastructure. The South American alliance will promote the cross-nation construction of railroads, highways, bridges and transmission lines that will connect the entire region resulting in smooth interaction and movement within the trading block. The NAFTA and CAFTA Superhighways epitomize the infrastructural development of the North American Union trading block.

The union plan also calls for a regional defense council, apparently the beginning of the imposition of a regional government. This council would resolve regional conflicts, promote military cooperation and allow for the regional coordination of weapons production, much as the military integration of Canada and the U.S. initiates the unification of governments in the North American Countries.

The plan to establish a new common currency for the Union of South American Nations is the latest development in the initiation of common currencies representative of multi-country trading blocks. The euro was the first trade block currency, established as part of the European Union. The amero is the name of what may be the North American Union’s counterpart to the euro, debuting after economic integration and homogenization of Mexico, the U.S. and Canada have been completed, at exchange rates that represent the lowered standard of living of the Americans and the Canadians.

Critics of the Union of South American Nations’ efforts to establish a common currency see it as playing right into the hands of the world banking cartel. The clustering and assimilation of currencies facilitates the eventual merger into a one world currency promoted by the Council on Foreign Relations and its political puppets. They see the move toward the South American Union with its single currency as easily fitting with the European Union and current efforts to establish the North American Union. Once the formation of these major trading blocks is completed, the next step would be the unification of the blocks into a one world government.

This one world government is sometimes referred to as the New World Order. The Council on Foreign Relations has openly stated that its intentions are to bring about the surrender of the sovereignty of the national independence of the U.S. with the aim of creating a one world government. The Council, referred to as CFR, has influence in all vital areas of American life and around the world. Members have run or are running the major media outlets including NBC, CBS, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and many other publications.

CFR members dominate the political world. U.S. presidents since Franklin Roosevelt have been CFR members, with the exception of Ronald Reagan. CFR members also dominate the academic world, top corporations, unions and the military. They are on the board of directors of the Federal Reserve. Barack Obama and John McCain are CFR members, as well as the Bushes and the Clintons. There are many corporate members of the CFR. CFR plans are not subject to the scrutiny, debate, or vote of the people. Discussion of the plans has been conspicuously absent from the endless debating of the presidential candidates.

Mayb the CFR should create a task force on ending the CFR.

    2. Ben Says:

Yes, and it’s called the Amero. Youtube/Google it.

    3. roaddog Says:

The frog in the pot. Slowly- very slowly will everything change. But alot of us see it for what it is.We’re watching it happen right before our eyes. It’s amazing to me how many don’t see it and some that do, deny it. Hang on tight, we’re going for a ride- we ain’t seen nothing yet.

    4. Gary Says:

      Dear Ms. Minton,

Could you provide some proof that Sen. Obama is a “member” of CFR. This is a very well written and concerning article. It just seems like if you going to accuse someone of not only being a member of CFR, but essentially creating a life based on a lie (e.g., working for social justice, voting rights, employment opportunities, education, health care) you ought to have some proof.

I’ve also heard Michelle Obama is a member…but I’ve heard A LOT of lies about her as well.

As soon as I hear some proof, I will immediately spread the word about how deceitful and evil Sen. Obama is…until then: I’m going to keep an open mind and hope that he’s just a very bright, well meaning, albeit somewhat misguided liberal.

      Thank you.

    6. DA Says:

Subject to scrutiny? Of coarse not!

    7. mushyZ Says:

No, the Amero is the North American currency. The South American currency will most likely be called the Peso.

    8. SHAW Says:

I agree with Gary, I am still in disagreement with Jones on this, he has yet to give proof to The Obamas being CFR (he has also not convinced me as to why Senator Obama would be bad for president).

    9. The Bald Eagle Says:

Keep in mind; not everyone has to be in the CFR or a member of any sub-elite group to be a puppet. We know the Elite dictate their rules and agendas to their puppets to start Wars, Microchip us, Wire-Tapping, Cameras on every corner, etc… What else do you need for evidence?

    10. Sam Adams Says:

      We’re next dudes!

    11. testing Says:

Obama is not an official CFR member currently (or in the past 5 years) However he has contributed to it. Refer to Foreign Affairs journal.

To clear up some confusion about the CFR, i have scanned over some of the recent membership rosters, and annual reports.

Obama, nor his wife is named on any of the material.

In my experience, the CFR is simply a club, and it operates for other powers. It really has no power itself. There are several other organizations and club that operate almost identically to the CFR.

    12. Benja S. Sariwatta Says:

I’m beginning to think that the natural course of man is to go back to slavery. Seems that vigilance is an exception to the rule and decadence is the rule.

We need to find a state and secede from the union and all the Alex Jones listeners, truthers, JBS, etc… should all move there. Trying to drag the ignorant public with us is like David and Goliath except David has a 10 ton boulder chained to his arm and legs.

Arizona and Oklahoma seems to be for secession so if we can get New Mexico and Texas to go with it, we can form a new Constitutional Republic. Maybe the Republic of Lakota can join the “Constitutional Republic States of America” (CRSA or CSA).

The public is being wilfully ignorant and as TJ said, “If you expect a nation to be ignorant and free …, you expect what never was and never can be.”

    13. Kevin Says:

Mexicans speak Spanish. It is much more appropriate if they join this new “Union of South American Nations”
      adios

    14. Stan Says:

Something tells me that the new South American currency will be called the Bolivar. Besides, Simon Bolivar, a revolutionary hack, expressed his support for a union of South America nations nearly 200 years ago and attempted to make that vision a reality. Thankfully, he failed miserably. Unfortunately, his dream has now come true.

      1. Masonic-Zionism, is the Red Dragon. (Masonry or
      Freemasonry represent ‘government,’ while Zionism
represents money). This ‘association’ will be replaced by
a particular man, who is the devil incarnate. This man
remains hidden and in the background for the time being,
directing all opposition to God the Father, the God of all
Creation, as he tries to subject the whole world to his
diabolical government and money order. The present
system of world dominance by evil is most sinister to say
the least. The powers of evil are now in control of the
design, manufacturing, and distribution of weapons of
mass destruction and are so complete, that no nation upon
the earth at this time can oppose these evil powers. Today
this evil is government controlled by the angels of Satan,
tomorrow it will be Satan incarnate as stated above who
will be in control of this evil. These powers of evil
government control oil production, taxation of the
populace, and nations ‘right’ to exist, as long as those
nations submit to their particular form of ‘democracy.’ “I
heard, as it were a voice in the midst of the four living
creatures, saying: ‘Two pounds of wheat for a penny, and
thrice two pounds of barley for a penny, and see you hurt
not the wine and the oil.’”30 The penny is the smallest
denomination of money, and here it represents the poor in
their struggle to pay for the minimal goods necessary for
survival. The oil represents the power of control by evil,
and the wine represents the luxury which can only be
enjoyed by the money-powers. The evil powers forbid
anyone to tamper with their control and luxury. The entire
earth is slave to their system.

    16. jj Says:

They should call this new currency the ZERO, because that is what it’s going to be worth in a couple of years. There is this guy in Columbia called Ronaldo Paulo that says that the new currency should be backed by cocaine.

So far Africa, Europe and South America-only Asia and North America to go. Or, has North America already gone thanks to SPP and is Asia a foregone conclusion with Chinese dominance? What’s simple folk to do-oh yeah get local and support your neighbors. Get involved in community politics again and throw away the trappings of the entertainment age. I’m not talking go amish, i’m talking get self sufficient. 1,000,000 homes off the grid is a good start.

    21. Morrison Bonpasse Says:

Formation of a South American Monetary Union has been discussed for several years. If Brazil can take the lead in making it happen, the sooner the better. Regional monetary unions, as with the euro and West African Franc zones and the Eastern Caribbean Monetary Union, are the logical next step toward a Single Global Currency – which will save the world: trillions.
The Single Global Currency Association promotes the implementation of a Single Global Currency, with a Global Central bank, by the year 2024. With the successful use of the euro and other common currencies, more and more people and organizations and nations are seeing the advantages of monetary unions. Our website is at http://www.singleglobalcurrency.org.
The Association recently published the 2008 Edition of my book, The Single Global Currency – Common Cents for the World. A copy of the 2007 edition is available at the Munchen personal archive at http://mpra.ub.uni-muenchen.de/5879/. and on the Association’s website.
The goal of 2024 is only 16 years away. If one looks at the world before the 2002 distribution of the euro to the people of the EMU, you would have seen in 1986 a Europe with a Soviet Union, an East Germany and a Berlin Wall. At that time, most Europeans would have scoffed at the idea of a new monetary union.
The benefits of a Single Global Currency include:
      - Zero transaction costs to exchange currencies. Presently, $3.2 trillion is traded every trading day and all this trading and its associated costs, approximately $400 billion annually, can be eliminated.
      - The end of currency fluctuations and currency speculation.
      - The end of “Balance of Payments”, “Current Account” and “global imbalances” problems for currency areas. There will, of course, still be trade and wealth inequalities, and more visibly; but they will not be compounded by the problem of foreign exchange transactions and reserve requirements. There would be no need for countries to maintain international reserves of other currencies.
      - Zero manipulation by countries of their currencies, and thus no more need to cajole and jawbone any particular country or currency area about the value of its currency.
      - Zero risk of national and regional currency crises such as occurred in the 1990’s in Mexico, Argentina, Malaysia, South Korea and Russia.
      - Minimal inflation, assuming that the future global central bank sets and achieves a low inflation rate, just as the European Central Bank has done. It’s not clear that a zero inflation rate can be secured, as that would bring an economy perilously close to deflation and a deflation spiral, but certainly a low rate of inflation would be better for the world than the current rates.
      - Worldwide asset values will increase by about $36 trillion due to the elimination of currency risk. Such an increase in asset values will cause annual worldwide GDP to increase by about $9 trillion.
      - With no currrency risk, worldwide interest rates would be lower.
      - With zero risk of currency failure and zero manipulation and minimal inflation, the Single Global Currency would satisfy the moral obligation that a stable currency should be considered as a fundamental human right, as is the right to own property. A Single Global Currency would be far more stable than the currencies presently used by billions of human beings
While all these benefits are expected upon the implementation of a Single Global Currency, considerable benefits will also come during the implementation processes which will see the reduction of national currencies as predicted and welcomed recently by Benn Steil in Foreign Affairs.
Of course, not all economists agree with the goal of a single global currency. For those who would label the single global currency utopian, we call their attention to the euro, which began as a plan only about 30 years ago. Who would have thought in the 1970’s that Europe would not only adopt a common currency, but also that its member countries would discard their old currencies?
The single global currency might be an enlarged transformation of one of the current major currencies (dollar, euro, yen), perhaps with a new name such as “dey”, “eartha”, “geo”,”globo” or “worldo” or it might be a new currency with such a name. How we get to that point is, of course, a major challenge, but there are several possible routes. One is to continue the trend of creating and expanding regional monetary unions, and then combine those monetary unions into one. Another is for smaller countries to continue to “ize” their nations’ legal tender, as in “dollarize” and “euroize”, as has been done in El Salvador and Monaco. Compatible with all these and other routes is the need to convene an international monetary conference of nations, monetary unions and related organizations, and begin planning for the implementation of a single global currency.
Organizations such as the IMF and the Bank for International Settlements, and individual economists should begin to carefully research and write about the benefits claimed above for the Single Global Currency, and about the costs, too. When the vast benefits become better known, the people of the world will demand a Single Global Currency and ask why we have been burdened so long with the existing multicurrency system, which Noble Laureate Robert Mundell describes as “absurd.”
