The Federal Reserve’s insistence on rewarding its own failures by granting itself new powers was harshly rebuked by Congressman Ron Paul during yesterday’s Joint Economic Committee meeting, as Paul all but accused Ben Bernanke of contributing economicallly to a broader move towards fascism in America.
"There’s a political philosophy that advocates merging together the interests of business and government at the same time with a loss of civil liberties of the people and I’m afraid we’re moving in that direction," said the Congressman, citing warrantless searches, lack of medical, Internet and financial privacy as well as the loss of habeas corpus since 9/11.
"I see….the proposal by the Treasury as a massive move to a lot closer association of business and government," said Paul, adding that a military-industrial complex, a medical-industrial complex and a media-industrial complex were already in place.
Paul was refering to the Treasury Department’s recent proposal to give the Fed, "Broad new authority to oversee financial market stability, in effect allowing it to send SWAT teams into any corner of the industry or any institution that might pose a risk to the overall system," as the New York Times reported.
"We should be regulating the government – when you think of the authority you as the Chairman of the Federal Reserve can do, it really goes unaudited and very little oversight," said Paul, adding that the creation of the President’s Working Group on Financial Markets meant that "we had really given up on the Republic, freedom, the marketplace and sound money".
"It looks like this is a massive increase in the combination of government and big business," said the Congressman.

Why is Ron Paul the only one in congress to ever ask these very basic but important questions. And Bernanke doesn’t even answer all the questions. I guess the other politicians are happy with the status quo of the Federal Reserve; I wonder how they have benefited and how they are benefiting now and how they will benefit in the future. It just seems like no one really cares.

First, there is no doubt about the fact that “the Fed” must be disbanded.
However, I don’t see any difference in what Ron Paul is saying now and what would exist in a “free market” state.
The market now runs rampant.
Thirty to forty percent of prisoners are now housed in privately owned jails that have to remain competitive by keeping costs down (reduced conditions for the prisoners) and profits high (slave labor, experimentation on prisoners, drugs, prostitution…).
If Paul had his way, it would be 100% of the prisoners in privately owned jails – just as Lysander Spooner and Benjamin Tucker, whose names he has recalled in the past, recommended.
Business now controls government, not the other way around.
I don’t see how a free market would solve the major problem of the US, which is corporate fascism. It would only exacerbate it.
And I have trouble believing that Paul isn’t smart enough to know that.

The rest of Congress seems like they don’t care because they are very ignorant about monetary policy. They simply don’t know what to say about the issue. Let’s just hope Congressman Paul can teach them a lesson about how a government should be run!

Is it me or did anyone get from it a solid answer from Bernanke’s babbling about past situations in the economy?
He could have said this… “Uh… I don’t really think I know the situation that we are in Congressman Paul, but one thing I do know is that I need a direct connection to the Globalist Bankers right now so I can let you know exactly what they want me to do to fuck up the economy even more before anybody knows what’s really going on.”

If you think we have free-market captialism you are sadly mistaken. Government and business united long ago. Just look at all the regulations and taxes imposed on business (mostly small business) and tell me we have free market capitalism. This is outrageous to even suggest that we have a free market. It is controlled by our government and corporate fascism. I will tell you that it was regulation that led to this disaster. You see, by regulation the government was able to control businesses and small farms, thereby being able to eliminate small businesses and farms, while relaxing regulations on big business by giving them the opportunity to outsource overseas through NAFTA, WTO, etc. They have been getting ready to break the back of the this economy for a long time! The inflation of the dollar has been done on purpose, so they can introduce the AMERO as a way to get us out of this mess…the same way they introduced the EURO; by debasing the currencies of independent nations. Take away all the regulation and corporate favors (this includes NAFTA and GATT) and we will have local economies that would thrive. Corporations would no longer be able to use the strong arm of government to eliminate competition! However, we will have world government as David Rockefeller says. We might be able to slow it down, but it will happen. The Word of God says we will in the book of Revelation and it tells us how this will all end!

Dissatisfaction with bank failures in the 19th century WAS NOT what led to the creation of the Federal Reserve in 1913. That was the most disingenuous statement made by Bernanke, the lying maggot. The Federal Reserve was created by the Warburgs, Morgans, Kuhns, Rothschilds and others for the express purpose of eliminating competition and consolidating power over the control of this nation’s money supply in the hands of a few powerful families. Ron Paul is a sedative to keep us from stringing up these SOB’s. Maybe Doreen does not understand as long as bussinesses are allowed to use the government to procure special advantages there will be no free market. Maybe if she read some Austrian ecomonic theory she could better understand what a free market is. The Keysian ecomonmics that is exclusively presented by our public education system has been proven unworkable in communist countries around the world for decades now.
A great American who once said that “those who are willing to give up freedom for security will soon have neither”, was speeking at a time when women did not have the vote. Now since the food and drug industries have chemically castrated the men in this country I don’t think it would even do any good to repeal the nintenth admendment in order to boost the foritude of the voters to chose FREEDOM.

To Kristian Jerry and Alyssium. It looks to me like this man has parkinsons disease and is taking levodopa, a drug used to counter its effects. One of the side effects of levodopa is that it causes unwanted and involutary movements very typical of those exhibited. (Think of Michael J Fox)
Parkinsons disease affects the ability to co ordinate movements due to a lack of dopamine in the brain but does not affect intellect. Levodopa, while relieving some of the symptoms causes the severe involuntary movements you can see in this video.
Please don’t be so quick to judge others.

I think Ron Paul is the only hope now for US economic security, but there are still some serious problems with the interest on loans in this “debt money” system that can NEVER be repaid. This will ALWAYS fail! Also, even if we revert to a gold standard, the elite have most of the gold! Ron Paul needs to put together an Emergency Economic Rescue program and get it out to the public ASAP!
The economy has already crashed. They are only keeping it above water artificially UNTIL John McCain has secured the GOP nomination, to take Ron Paul out of the race. Look out for everything to come down this September, 2008.

If you look at the history. Greenspan before he was chair of Fed …advocated also “sound money” etc.,,, gold , silver…and after there is absolutely no mention of that. Seems he had amnesia.
Actually I say most of the problems were caused by Greenspan…He help cause the .com bubble and the current housing bubble… Where artifical low interest rates and lax lending let homeowners buy homes that they know they can’t afford.

Amazing that helicopter Ben says that the Federal Reserve was created to stop, and control the bubbles and bursts. There has been more depressions and recessions since the Federal Reserve was created than at any other time in the history of the United States.
We must all learn and educate people about how the money in our country works. And more importantly, who has the power over the money supply.
Most people, including many well educated, and financially well off people don’t understand our money system. They actually think that the Federal Reserve System is owned and operated by the United States Government. They wouldn’t even be able to tell one name of a person that is on the Board of Governors for the Federal Reserve.
This is far worse than most would ever want to believe. These bankers want the United States to be a reliant country, not self sustaining like we used to be. There’s no profits to the bank when you use your own profits to re-invest in your business, instead of borrowing to expand.
We, the American public, have had the most elaborate scam pulled on us in all of history. We have given away our power to create, and control our own currency over to a hand full of profit-minded, evil vipers, and international private bankers by authorizing the 13th Amendment. And then, as if they hadn’t done enough damage by becoming a debtor nation to private bankers, they then agreed to insure a minimum payment for interest on the governments borrowed money to the bankers by (you guessed it) passing the Federal Income Tax Act of 1913, the 16th Amendment.
This and this only, is why you have Federal Income Taxes taken out of your check. Every penny of the Federal Income Tax taken from your check is handed directly over to the private bankers who own and control the Central Banks. This is what everyone needs to be educated about.
As long as we have a debt based system it is impossible to have a balanced budget, or ever pay off any deficit, or short fall, you can only sink deeper. It is not designed to ever be paid off, it is designed to keep everyone in debt.
Look beyond your house, your street, your city, your county, your state, and you will see that there is a large monster about to unravel it’s self, it’s starting to unravel now.
Get educated “The Federal Reserve” is a trojan horse about to open it’s doors, and when it does…….as Alex Jones’s movie is titled…..ENDGAME !

Just a thought, does anyone ever take a step back and realize how incredible this all is? Everything we know? It’s like the movie the matrix, except there’s no physically different dimension that we find ourselves in, once we know the truth. Instead, we find ourselves right in the middle of things, but based on our perception of the world, we might as well be in another dimension. It’s something you never imagined until you realize how real it is.

Imagine prisoners, who have been chained since their childhood deep inside a cave: not only are their limbs immobilized by the chains; their heads are chained in one direction as well so that their gaze is fixed on a wall.
Behind the prisoners is an enormous fire, and between the fire and the prisoners is a raised walkway, along which puppets of various animals, plants, and other things are moved along. The puppets cast shadows on the wall, and the prisoners watch these shadows. When one of the puppet-carriers speaks, an echo against the wall causes the prisoners to believe that the words come from the shadows.
The prisoners engage in what appears to us to be a game: naming the shapes as they come by. This, however, is the only reality that they know, even though they are seeing merely shadows of objects. They are thus conditioned to judge the quality of one another by their skill in quickly naming the shapes and dislike those who play poorly.
Suppose a prisoner is released and compelled to stand up and turn around. At that moment his eyes will be blinded by the sunlight coming into the cave from its entrance, and the shapes passing by will appear less real than their shadows.
The last object he would be able to see is the sun, which, in time, he would learn to see as the object that provides the seasons and the courses of the year, presides over all things in the visible region, and is in some way the cause of all these things that he has seen.
Once enlightened, so to speak, the freed prisoner would not want to return to the cave to free “his fellow bondsmen,” but would be compelled to do so. Another problem lies in the other prisoners not wanting to be freed: descending back into the cave would require that the freed prisoner’s eyes adjust again, and for a time, he would be one of the ones identifying shapes on the wall. His eyes would be swamped by the darkness, and would take time to become acclimated. Therefore, he would not be able to identify the shapes on the wall as well as the other prisoners, making it seem as if his being taken to the surface completely ruined his eyesight.

Privatization of first major US airport attracts foreign interest

Foreign investors are lining up to bid to operate Chicago’s Midway International Airport, the first major US airport to be privatized under a federal initiative launched more than a decade ago.
City officials say six consortiums, which include firms from France, Australia, Germany, Canada and Spain, are vying to run Chicago’s secondary airport.
While many European airports were privatized years ago, all commercial airports in the United States are currently operated and owned by local or state governments.
Midway was the first major hub airport to apply for privatization approval since the US congress established a pilot program in 1996 to explore the use of private operators at commercial airports.
Yet it remains unclear whether the effort will generate a backlash if a foreign firm is chosen, in light of security concerns raised after a failed effort by a Dubai group to take over major US ports.
“This will surely generate debate since there may be perceptions about foreign ownership of sensitive or critical transportation properties like we saw with the Dubai port deal,” said Joe Schweiterman, a transportation professor at DePaul University in Chicago.
The groups which have submitted qualifications statements are:
- Spain’s Abertis Infraestructuras SA, Australia’s Babcock & Brown Group and US-based GE Commercial Aviation Services;
- AirportsAmerica Group, consisting of US-based Carlyle Infrastructure Partners LP;
- Chicago Crossroads Consortium, consisting of Australia’s Macquarie Capital Group Limited and Macquarie Airports and US-based Macquarie Infrastructure Partners and Macquarie Infrastructure Partners II;
- Chicago First Consortium, consisting of Germany’s HOCHTIEF AirPort GmbH and HOCHTIEF AirPort Capital GmbH & Co and US-based GS Global Infrastructure Partners I, LP;
- Midway Investment and Development Corporation, consisting of Canada’s YVR Airport Services Ltd. and US-based Citi Infrastructure Investors and John Hancock Life Insurance Co;
- France’s Aeroports de Paris Management and US-based Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners and HMSHost Corporation.
The city said that once the firms are determined to be qualified, “the highest bid amount will be the only factor in determining who will operate the airport.”
“We are very enthused with the strong indications of interest we have received from teams wishing to operate Midway in what would be the first lease of a major US airport,” said Paul Volpe, the city’s chief financial officer.
A decision is expected in the next eight to 12 months.
The deal must be approved by federal regulators and 65 percent of the six airlines operating at the airport.
The private operator must also meet safety and security standards and the Transportation Security Administration will continue to oversee screening and airports security.
The 50-year lease is expected to raise between two and three billion dollars for the city.
But while the cash will be a welcome infusion, US municipalities have been wary of giving up control of airports which are often seen as their “crown jewels,” Schweiterman said.
The city will retain control over its primary airport, O’Hare, which handles 76 million passengers a year.
Midway’s five runways handled nearly 304,000 flights and more than 19 million passengers last year
Chicago is leading the nation in the privatization of city services.
It was the first city to lease a major piece of infrastructure in 2005 with a 1.8 billion dollar deal for the right to manage a key toll bridge for 99 years.
In February, the city offered up its 360,000 parking meters for lease after having rented out four of its parking garages to private operators.
It is also considering privatizing garbage collection and is trying to raise money by selling naming rights.

If I knew a man was about to give an effective talk and wanted to….mess it up a bit , let’s say , I could easily hire a fellow man ( I don’t have to tell him I THINK he looks retarded or crazy [let's say], he doesn’t NEED to know what I’m up to!) , and I instruct him thus :’I want you to go sit behind that guy there , MAKE sure you are on or in camera , and just sit there and act a little funny for me!’. He may ask why , but the more money you offer the less he’ll care! And voila! Job done. No matter how important or booming the talk or conversation is , the speaker looks like he’s surrounded by retards and idiots! Now it was time for the Money Changers to get back to the business of a new private central bank for America. During the early 1900’s, men like JP Morgan led the charge. One final panic would be necessary to focus the nation’s attention on the supposed need for a central bank. The rationale was that only a central bank can prevent bank failures.
Morgan was clearly the most important banker in
America, and, a suspected agent for the Rothschilds. Morgan had helped finance John D. Rockefeller’s Standard Oil empire; he had also helped finance the monopolies of Edward Harriman in railroads, of Andrew Carnegie in steel, and of others in numerous industries.
But on top of that, JP Morgan’s father, Junius Morgan, had been America’s financial agent to the British. After his father’s death, JP Morgan took on a British partner, Edward Grenville, a longtime director of the Bank of England. In fact, upon Morgan’s death, his estate contained only a few million dollars. The bulk of the securities most people thought he owned were in fact owned by others.
In 1902, President Theodore Roosevelt allegedly went after Morgan and his friends by using the Sherman Anti-Trust Act to try to break up their industrial monopolies. Actually, Roosevelt did very little to interfere in the growing monopolization of American industry by the bankers and their surrogates. For example, Roosevelt supposedly broke up the Standard Oil monopoly. But it wasn’t really broken at all. It was merely divided into seven corporations all still controlled by the Rockefellers. The public was aware of this thanks to political cartoonists like Thomas Nast, who referred to the bankers as ” the Money Trust”.
By 1907, the year after Teddy Roosevelt’s reelection, Morgan decided it was time to try for a central bank again. Using their combined financial muscle, Morgan and his friends were secretly able to crash the stock market. Thousands of small banks were vastly over-extended. Some had reserves of less than 1%, thanks to the fractional reserve principle. Within days, bank runs were commonplace across the nation. Now Morgan stepped into the public arena, and offered to prop up the faltering American economy by supporting failing banks with money he manufactured OUT OF NOTHING.
It was an outrageous proposal, far worse than even fractional reserve banking, but Congress let him do it. Morgan manufactured $200 million worth of this completely reserveless private money, and bought things with it, paid for services with it, and sent some of it to his branch banks to lend out at interest.
His plan worked. Soon the public regained confidence in money in general and quite hoarding their currency. But as a result, banking power was consolidated even further into the hands of a few large banks.

Amazing that JP Morgan and the Bush’s have been tied together for nearly 100 years, and here we go again with a backroom, Sunday morning deal when no one was looking to steal wealth from millions and give it to Morgan for pennies on the dollar.
Bush and Morgan took a play out of a 90 year old playbook and ran it flawlessly again. Now they are set to give the FED even more power? Shame on America for letting this happen.

I tried commenting at youtube on this video of Paul lecturing the NWO agent Bernanke. They let me comment once but not twice. There is another poster who was able to comment 3 times, once immediately above and 2 below my comment.Youtube is no doubt owned partially by the federal reserve owners with their bought and paid for gopher agents monitoring the website.
I always am amazed at how gullible the American people are and those that sit in those meetings with the ties and white shirts ( I think it is a sign of mental illness and incompetence and a conformity complex) that Paul is the only one who is asking these obvious questions.
I am also amazed that we accept the answers of Rothschild (read in one place they own 53% in the federal reserve) agent Bernanke. Bernanke always says “We do make mistakes”, “We’ll do better next time”,”We are human”.
Maybe Hitler could have used these words when he went into Poland. Maybe it would have worked. He could have just said I made a mistake and I’ll do better next time. Sorry about that. Maybe the world would have bought it.
Agent Bernanke even fessed up that the federal reserve CAUSED the 1930s depression. How much clearer could it be ? The FR bought up many banks, businesses etc on the cheap during the 1930s depression. The FR consolidated its power. How stupid we are ? Put a gun in our face and the perp is doomed. Rob us blind by financial subtlety and the we are made paupers and homeless in a country our forefathers conquered.
My point is that the federal reserve is INTENTIONALLY ON PURPOSE doing what they are doing to destroy the US financially. Unless someone literally puts a GUN in the face of people they dismiss these verbal baloney phrases that are masking the deliberate destruction of America financially by the secretive bankers AS REAL REASONS for the fed’s behavior.
Why takeover America by force, when doing it by financial subterfuge has worked so well. Just a few “sorry we are human” phrases and that is the extent of the investigation.
Best way to destroy a nation is to debase its currency. With the US middle class out of the way who will oppose the NWO takeover.

Ben Bernanke tried to make the point that the Federal Reserve came into being because of the bank failures and recessions/depressions of the late 1800’s in order to stabilize the business cycle. He got it backwards. Instead, these bank failures and recessions/depressions were in fact triggered to allow further consolidation and greater power for the nation’s bankers. Proposed fixes for today’s housing bubble trade worthless paper, mortgage-backed securities from companies who made poor business decisions, for money printed out of thin air from the Fed, giving them control over real estate, as well as banking. One person’s bust is another person’s boom. That’s how the business cycle ought to work, and the sooner we let the natural business cycle take it’s course, the sooner we’ll pull out and recover from this recession.

Is Ron Paul the only guy in washington who understands this?I’m wondering how many ways there plotting to kill him.He seems like the only politician in America that represents the American people!I was in a gun store yesterday,all there inventory is gone(except a few pistols and antiqued rifles)there suppliers are so far on back order they cant even tell them when any new shipments will go out.I overheard one of the sales guy advicing a client about chosing a “common” amo weapon i.e. militiary,law enforcement,nato ,in order to insure having a weapon that could be reloaded with whatever rounds you could get in the event of “emergency”.The guy thanked the salesman profusely and said he was shocked and delighted that someone gave him straight talk.By the way the store was wall to wall packed with people.
