Pelosi: Buy a $15,000 Policy or Go to Jail

Today, Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee Dave Camp (R-MI) released a letter from the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) confirming that the failure to comply with the individual mandate to buy health insurance contained in the Pelosi health care bill (H.R. 3962, as amended) could land people in jail. The JCT letter makes clear that Americans who do not maintain “acceptable health insurance coverage” and who choose not to pay the bill’s new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5% of income), are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years.

In response to the JCT letter, Camp said: “This is the ultimate example of the Democrats’ command-and-control style of governing – buy what we tell you or go to jail. It is outrageous and it should be stopped immediately.”
Key excerpts from the JCT letter appear below:
“H.R. 3962 provides that an individual (or a husband and wife in the case of a joint return) who does not, at any time during the taxable year, maintain acceptable health insurance coverage for himself or herself and each of his or her qualifying children is subject to an additional tax.” [page 1]

“If the government determines that the taxpayer’s unpaid tax liability results from willful behavior, the following penalties could apply…” [page 2]

“Criminal penalties
Prosecution is authorized under the Code for a variety of offenses. Depending on the level of the noncompliance, the following penalties could apply to an individual:
• Section 7203 – misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.
• Section 7201 – felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.” [page 3]
When confronted with this same issue during its consideration of a similar individual mandate tax, the Senate Finance Committee worked on a bipartisan basis to include language in its bill that shielded Americans from civil and criminal penalties. The Pelosi bill, however, contains no similar language protecting American citizens from civil and criminal tax penalties that could include a $250,000 fine and five years in jail.
“The Senate Finance Committee had the good sense to eliminate the extreme penalty of incarceration. Speaker Pelosi’s decision to leave in the jail time provision is a threat to every family who cannot afford the $15,000 premium her plan creates. Fortunately, Republicans have an alternative that will lower health insurance costs without raising taxes or cutting Medicare,” said Camp.
According to the Congressional Budget Office the lowest cost family non-group plan under the Speaker’s bill would cost $15,000 in 2016.

however everyone should be treated equally, people who don’t pay US taxes, should not get free health care without time limits/citizenship etc……., it really does alter the birth rate and ultimately (regardless) of race makes the more responsible members of society not have babies, while the irresponsible, less-educated and possibly lower IQ folks have more and more babies. It’s happening right now and I think this could possibly be part of the plan as well. separating the rich from the poor isn’t just about money, its about brains as well. Get low IQ folks to breed uncontrollably and folks like myself with a Master’s Degree and no health insurance to not have babies. Who knows what the elite think, I think they confuse themselves and don’t agree with each other at times as well.

The middle class will pick-up the tab just like they currently do for medicAID (poor). And the cost of our goods will still provide those at the top with fantastic, gold plated health care for free.
And there will be federal agencies set up to make sure brown people are getting medical care just like the white people. So for every white person who gets a liver so must a brown person. Sure brown people don’t donate organs at the same rate as white people. This means they are not as close of a match as often, but so what. More white people must die to keep it fair. So I sure hope Obama starts to push for more brown people to donate organs to keep it fair.
America is a down right mean nation. We make the middle class pay the way since they pay a higher proportion of taxes in relation to take home pay and then they don’t get anything in return. No health care. No free food. No free housing. No corporate jet. No multi-million dollar bonus.
Everyone should pay something. No poor person should get health care for free. No rich person should keep getting bail outs and keep sucking of the customer who is charged more to pay for their expensive lifestyle.
And I am sick of going to the store and seeing the Mayan family with a bunch of food the state (me) pays for. The state through WIC (women, infants, and children) pays them to keep having children to keep getting benefits. Great system. My local taxes and property taxes are sickening!

You want to talk about property taxes? I live in New Jersey, the state with the highest property taxes in the country. We just got re-evaluated and in this piss poor economy they upped the evaluation on my house, and believe me, it’s no McMansion. It was built in 1920 and could use more updating than we can afford. Now the taxes in town will be going up and my husband and I will be paying approx. $2,000 more per year. I was born and raised in NJ, my family is here and now I will be forced to move. There’s no way we can afford it on retirement income.

I dropped out of their system a few years ago and it is working quite well.

@madman: The truth is, it’ll really will be poor people and felons who take any fight to come to the boardrooms, backyards and living rooms of the NWO officers and their civilian supporters. The problem seems to be identifying the legitimate targets for just war. Still, random acts of violence against prohibited targets has to be condemned and not every possible target is one. Are mail carriers targets? After all, they wear the uniform of the federal government? How about city workers like garbage collectors and office employees? These are both soft targets that are easy to identify and kill, but should they be? Can they be followed into their homes, or targeted only while on duty? How about the banks? Are only high level officers to be found, or can Freedom Fighters shoot through the human shields? I myself would sit the fight out and most likely be arrested or killed by either side for not participating! Nevertheless, meaningful discussion of Just War Doctrine needs to be started, so that small cells who do take up the rifle are full aware of the limits to their actions during the coming war in our cities. Unless these doctrines are enshrined now, the Freedom Fighters will only cause unjust violence and chaos.

I recorded that harassment and they admitted outside that they were going to shoot me if I went out when they expected me to.
They were coaching very little kids to talk about dicks.
They were telling Eric Carlson the body double to walk past the kids with his back towards there cameras so they could accuss me of being around those kids.
In other words I caught local authority’s framing me as a pedophile and using body doubles to molest children, right in front of my apartment, and I recorded those bastards admitting to it.
After I had a chance to listen to that video I started calling the portland police reporting line reporting what happened.
I kept getting an answering machine, so I kept leaving message’s on there answering machine.
When someone finally answered I started explaining what happened, he let me talk for about three or four minutes and then interupted by ignoring everything I said and simply stated he listened to me and now he is hanging up, then hung up.
That same day I got an email threatening to put my daughter in the hospital.
The email did not say it with words.
The email was only a picture of what appears to be a woman beaten up and in the hospital.
A week before that I got another picture from same sender showing a picture of a young couple with a new born baby, a week later I get a picture of a woman beaten up and in the hospital.
My daughter Megan has a baby and lives with her boyfriend.
These pedophiles and serial killers are not hiding it there bradding about it.
I know damn well I can prove self defense in a court of law and I am so f---ing tempted to issue justice on these bastards!

The point I sneed to made clearer which regards this article is- Since this Obama/Pelosi Care bill would make you pay for insurance (no one, at least not a sovereign, can be made to contract into anything against their will) and bases it on your “income” (’income’ as defined by IRS Code is really only CORPORATE profit), then the reason you sheeple will have to go along with the healthcare law is cuz you ‘re already suckered into the corporate personhood status in the first place as well as the notion that your pay from your job can be taxed ! My 91 yr old grandfather and WW2 Veteran has told me all my life to avoid Doctors and Hospitals. He said, if your not sick when you visit them, they’ll make sure you’re sick before u leave. My grandfather has lived by that motto and he still lives at home alone, drives, pays his own bills, shops and gets around pretty good. Oh and he eats garden grown potatoes everyday and cooks everything in Lard.

You know, its funny. My grand dad lived to be 81 and he smoked, drank lard like it was fresh water and never took s--- from anyone. In that last year he was pretty weak and sick, but he was a guy that could run a chainsaw until he was 75. I think the key is to stay active. He was a butcher for 40 years. The kind of man that worked all day and built his garage by hand on the weekends. WWII vet, etc.

The health care bill does bother me more and more, especially considering how secreteive the Pelosi Gang has been in preparing it. I just bought a limited plan through my employer this week. It was only $12 per week, and while it doesn’t cover catastrophic illness, it does pay up to $1,000 per year in outpatient medical, lab tests, etc. And up to $2,000 in hospital visits. There is even a provision for preventative care, and a few other benefits. I am 41 and in reasonably good health, so for me it is a good plan, and fits wihin my budget.
Under the Pelosi plan, I might end up paying much more. On my meager pay [$7.50] it could send me right into a cardboard box in Balboa Park.

Here goes the sob story so get your tissues ready, I already have Gov. run health care its called the Veterans Hospital. When you first sign up for this program you receive a welcome package. In that package are the following…
1. A letter explaining your nursing home rights & responsibilities (list of what they DO NOT provide)
2. Advance Directives: you MUST make out a living will and a Durable power of attorney.
3. A pamphlet on healthy living.. ( what to eat, when to eat and how to exercise)
4. A pamphlet on physical restraints they may use on you should the hosp. staff deem it so.
5. A wall chart with all the heart attack and stroke warning signs listed on it.
6. a lab. packet that you have to put your sample of fecal matter in and MAIL it in… (if only the postal workers knew what they were handling???) and instructions for going to the lab for blood to be drawn…(walk in any time for that no app. needed)
7. Last but not least a welcome letter explaining how they are here for you.. However,,, you
must comply with everything they say or your outta here!!!
When you have complied with all the above you can now make an appointment with your care provider… this takes about 4-5 weeks… when your app. date finaly arrives you get to sit down with a nurse who asks you a ton of health questions about yourself and your family health history,
never getting to talk to a real doctor until the next visit….. in about 4-5 weeks.

One of the worst parts about the bill is mandatory vaccinations for all. If you don’t take your government mandated shots your health care will be suspended and you’ll have a warrant for your arrest (eventually). Not only will you get your swine flu vax (all 3) but you need gaurdisil, anthrax, all the heps, aids, polio, you name it you’re gonna need it according to them. People will live to their 30’s if they’re lucky. We have about one year maybe less before all this goes into effect.

i was 24 at the time. while sowing my wild seeds across this great nation, i joined the circus to help transport myself. at one point i leave the show with this nice blonde to go too her home town of winatchee, washington. apple capitol of the world. while there i took a small trip with the towns youth circus troop where i basicly broke my back. there was a bad chance that i would never walk again. well thanks to the loving unbiased dhs i was motivated to get off my temp. parylyzed arse and do something because dhs said i had to much income. all i asked for was some assistance. i got none. and i was under dr.s care. it must of been the skin color more than the income because dhs was handing out paper foodstamps that day to the orchard workers who were over 90% hispanic/latin.i am irish,cherokee,dutch german. or white if you prefer. i was making a measley 2 hundred + dollars a week. working two part time jobs. keep in mind theses jobs came within 3 weeks of the accident. the orchard workers made over the minimum wage required for legal citizens. so don’t give me your racist bulls---. grow a couple and accept responsibilty for yourselves and don’t let sticks and stones hurt you.

My only comment is this,” Does this manditory insurance coverage extend to everyone (senators congressman etc.) If not than how could our government be pushing a plan that is for the betterment of all americans if it is not good enough for them aren’t they americans to.
