Crying crocodile tears for the camera on Thursday, Huffington Post reports that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has warned that current political tensions and populous outcry could lead to violence. Invoking the political tensions of San Francisco in the Seventies, Pelosi states, “This kind of rhetoric was very frightening and it gave–it created a climate in which violence took place.”, referring to the assassination of then Mayor of San Francisco George Mascone and City Supervisor Harvey Milk.

Pelosi’s statements come in the same week former President of the United States Jimmy Carter tells ABC that most criticism of President Obama stems from deep seeded racism among Americans who oppose his policies.
Jimmy Carter-Outbust “Based on racism”
Both Pelosi and Carter seem to be setting the stage for protests and other forms of activism from the American People to be viewed by the general public as political and racial animus coming to a head in the form of violent push back. This can give the establishment the desired social environment ripe for them to stage or sensationalize any single or group of violent incidents as the pre-text needed to implement Martial Law style control over the population, revoking constitutional rights such as freedom of speech and the right to bear arms under the guise of combating domestic terrorism.
President of Crisis
Since his inauguration in January, the corporate controlled media has sought to characterize President Obama as a savior in a time of Crisis. In the midst of two wars, a failing economy and a looming swine flu outbreak the current social climate is being staged in the public consciousness to acclimate the masses to accept and, in some cases demand, more government regulation and control over everyday activities. Facing mounting public dissent, it seems predictable that the Administration would go on a campaign of demonizing opposition with the help of left leaning corporate media, labeling some “as un-patriotic” in the same vane of the Bush Administration after the attacks of September 11th, all the while, waiting patiently to implement authoritarian policies given the right circumstance.
