Pentagon Deploys Warships in Response to North Korea Rocket

North Korea said on Thursday that if the international community punishes it for next month’s planned missile launch it will restart a nuclear plant that makes weapons grade plutonium.

The planned launch, seen by some countries as a disguised military exercise, is the first big test for U.S. President Barack Obama in dealing with the prickly North, whose efforts to build a nuclear arsenal have long plagued ties with Washington.
North Korea warned that any action by the U.N. Security Council to punish it would be a “hostile act.”
” … All the processes for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula … will be brought back to what used to be before their start and necessary strong measures will be taken,” the North’s foreign ministry spokesman said in comments carried by the official KCNA news agency.

We’re becoming too cinical. N. Korea will launch. Japan and U.S. will do nothing. They’ll be no war over this crap. In a couple of days or weeks, the U.S. will think of something else to keep us living in fear. People will blah, blah, blah. Alex Jones will have more scary stories. It’s a never ending, ongoing program of ripping us off for everything that we have before they kill us all one way or another.

Dave: It’s funny that you used “hillary” and “big bag” in the same sentence. ha I get jokes! But seriously..this is more provocateuring. U.S. Intelligence agencies have already established what this launch entails (whether an ICBM ‘platform’ test, or a satellite launch).
If it’s a satellite launch, then we have nothing to say about it. If a weapons test, then we still have nothing to say about it! I’m not fond of the ‘commies’ in NK, but what would the U.S. have to say if the roles were reversed, and NK threatened action against the U.S. for weapons testing? We’d be pissed off.
I wish we could learn to stop asking for trouble where none existed in the first place.

I believe your right, nate. Well at least about that. Not sure about the women. The use of swords and star’s and such is very effective towards the enemy in great numbers. Look what they did in the “LAST SAMURAI” !!!! except in the final part of the movie. However, in todays world bring them in first, then the military …would be very scary to see my peoples in a fight on the other side of the fence.Using our horses, our swords and ol’ body armour. Would scare most folks to death…!! ALso, I would really use, Ninja’s then the samurai, then the main body of military for our strike…IN great numbers all shall prevail to no avail…!!!! A good friend of mine just got back from his 2 weeks/year in the Naval reserves. While they were training for their Jan. deployment they were told that plans may change. They were supposed to be going to Iraq for 6-8 months, but he came back confused as all the talk was about Korea.

Pre-emptive strikes only ‘work’ under very narrow circumstances; for example, if a foreign nation has declared war and is mobilizing its forces against a nation. Or if a country has a PROVEN nuclear weapons capability, as well as the ability to deliver such weapons, and threatens to launch.
‘MAD’ doctrine is still in force..we still own a lot of high-yield thermo-nukes. I’ll leave it to you to figure the rest.

i just want to comment on your take on students , i dont know about where you are but here in maine free speech is repressed . i was a sophmore when we first invaded iraq i wore a black armband to protest the war. in almost every class i was pulled aside and scorn for dareing to be against the war. i heard the whole spiel that by protesting the war i was protesting the soldiers .nothing could be further from the truth.i found if you have a mind of your own and dont believe evrything your taught without questioning it your a badseed. i was labled from then on. i never finished high school but i have the iq of a college graduate. youll learn more from real life than you ever will in school, at least here in maine. i have two cousins both high school graduates who can barely read a newspaper. somethings broke in the system and theres no plans to fix it.

Out of all the posts, perhaps a few are relevant to the article. It just shows how infowars.com has become a trendy thing where the ‘activists’ hang out… Yeah.
The warships being deployed are obviously for sending a political message. If the fleet was for attacking purposes then there would be multiple aircraft carriers for defend the fleet to ensure the U.S.A can strike hard. In that case, North Korea would be f---ed. There are hundreds of cruise missiles on a handful of cruise ships alone. Each of them has the ability to take out a city block. What will North Korea retaliate with? Its museum peice air force and missiles, which would probably be taken out with anti-missiles missiles.
If these war ships open fire at North Korea, the North Korea are f---ed. Its useless for North Korea having a huge army as that army won’t be able to reach the enemy while they are strong.

I wont pretend I know anything but what has already happened between the US and North Korea. N. Korea is ruthless in battle we seen this during the Korean War. How many of our troops dies? well lets just say we DONT have the troops to fight a war of the scale of N. Korea. Not saying we couldnt win if we did but damn that would be one hell of a war. As far as their current situation: I dont know what they plan on doing, they say their launching a satellite. Though I wouldnt be surprised if it’s not the case. America has went far beyond its borders in the last 8 years and has killed at least a million people and made many homeless and starving. N. Korea has seen a pause between administrations. Whatever they do it wouldnt surprise me!!!
