Saudi-backed Bahraini regime forces have attacked protesters across the Persian Gulf country as fresh rallies erupt against the decades-long rule of Al Khalifa royal family, Press TV reports.

Security forces used teargas and rubber bullets on Thursday to disperse protesters in several towns and villages outside the capital, Manama.

The protesters were chanting slogans against the government, demanding the ouster of their rulers.

One of the rallies was held in protest at the killing of a man by regime forces some days ago.

Meanwhile, Bahraini activists released new footage, showing a handcuffed child who they claimed was beaten and sexually harassed by the Saudi-backed forces.

The boy was left unconscious with his hands tied behind his back, and was found lying in a street by residents in the village of Sanabis, outside of Manama, activists said.

Bahrain has been in a revolution since anti-government protests broke out in February 2011.

Forces loyal to the Al Khalifa ruling family have since killed scores of protesters and arrested thousands more.
