No one seems to care about the untold number of dead Iraqis killed in this war (including outrageous and horrifying rapes and murders), yet many are shaken by a puppy thrown over a cliff by a soldier.
We are too.
These individuals, and untold others, are demonstrably psychopathic. The weight of Iraq-related stress has stripped away humanity and life has lost meaning and become a trifle. The fact that the puppy is more sensational is another matter…

That sick sadistic bastard needs to be thrown over the cliff himself. WTF is wrong with this guy. They’ve got his name from the video, Litari or something close to that. If that was here stateside that SOB would be brought up on cruelty to animals charges. But since he’s there, oh it’s O.K. he’s in a war zone and it’s just a puppy. A lot of people feel the same way that you do. What we have to understand is that we ceased being American’s a long, long time ago. Some go as far back to right after the American Revolution. Other’s say right after the Civil War. But as Ron Paul has shocked people, during the debates, in pointing out that the Constitution was thrown out a long time ago. If we followed it we wouldn’t be in these wars, and in the Debt situation. Congress hasn’t formally declared war since the 2nd world war, thus all these wars are unconstitutional. And Congress is suppose to be in charge of our money, not private bankers. The banker’s print paper, and charge us interest for every piece of paper that they print. It’s the biggest scam in History. I don’t know what you believe about our Politician’s, but it is obvious that 99% have committed Treason. They have participated in Illegal wars, and most likely in some ways, in the coverup of 9/11. Christopher Bollyn has documented who was behind 9/11. Instead of leaving, we need to ban together, and make citizens arrests of these Politicians, bankers, and the Criminal’s behind 9/11. Other countries throughout history have brought about change. We have to keep educating those who care, that something needs to be done. The Military could redeem themselves if they would bring about a coup, on the present coup. Donn De Grand Pre spoke of the Military rising up and arresting all of these Criminals. This makes me sick to my stomach. I don’t know when i will ever be able to get that image out of my head of that American soldier hurling that puppy over a cliff to its death and the yelping screams of that defensless puppy as it fell violently to it’d death. One soldier said that he was mean for doing that, that’s it. Why didn’t they stop him or punch him out or report him. I feel ashamed to be American and a human being. If they are hurling puppies off of cliffs then what are they doing to people, more so women and children?
This guy is going to come home and walk be amongst families and children. He is a monster and I hope that he burns in hell for what he did after someone gives him a taste of terror that the puppy must of felt while it was falling to its death.
Lets bring our soldiers home before more of them turn into killers and lets bring them home before they die for an unjust war for oil and big government. Bring them home before it is too late.

That’s not what I expect out of an American soldier.
In fact, what this guy did is in stark contrast to the soldiers who fought against Hitler in WWII.
I’ve read too many books on real heroes to know that this guy is not one of them. Just because you suit up in an American military uniform and carry a gun doesn’t make you a “hero” by default. If you are going to represent my country, my fellow Americans, it is your duty to do so with honor and integrity.
When I think of the soldiers who saved the world from fascism and an impending evil during WWII, words like character, fortitude, courage, sacrifice, duty and honor come to mind.
This guy conjures up words and phrases like dishonor, mental weakness and, to a lesser degree, even disgrace.
Puppy aside, the act in itself reveals something about this guy’s character.
It’s during seemingly impossible times that people find out who they really are. I know plenty of people who had horrible childhoods, but chose not to let that fact define who they are or who they are going to become.
Bullies, like this guy, are usually the biggest cowards. I would be willing to bet this same guy, who apparently thinks he’s pretty tough for throwing a puppy off a cliff, would back down in a street fight if it were just him, one-on-one with another guy, mainly due to a serious lack of guts.
I’ve seen some other videos of American soldiers in actions and it all makes me wonder what kind of people we have become.

Some of the comments here are almost as disturbing as these videos are. People who are surprised by this immorality really need to wake up. We have been shown much worse than this, over and over. Have you already forgotten Abu Ghraib, just to name one very obvious portrayal of what drives some US soldiers? I don’t mean to say that only US soldiers are capable of cruelty, though I do wonder about US culture breeding these types. The comment about the difference between being drafted into a war (as in Vietnam) and deciding yourself to go and be a ‘war hero’ is spot on, in my opinion. How arrogant can you be? These young ‘men’ don’t have a clue about what the war is really about, yet they’re all too eager to go get some action. I don’t feel sorry for them returning with no legs in the least, unless that leads to them waking up and advocating the fact that the US has no business being there. And even if they can’t help being dumb, brainwashed, whatever, it should be obvious enough, once they’re over there, what tactics their government uses. I’m sure enough of them have seen what happens when children find cluster bombs and play with them, just to name one… These are children with a mom and dad, just like them. In that sense, the little puppy seems like just a distraction of much worse going on.
Many times people have remarked on what Americans would do if, let’s say Muslims, came into their country and started calling the shots. The argument about the US rescuing the Iraqis from a brutal regime doesn’t hold up. Americans have a brutal regime right now, but I doubt they would accept, let’s say the Chinese, entering their country uninvited and taking over, even if they realized the extent to which their regime is corrupt. The Iraqis have the right to solve their own problems. I don’t think they’re gonna like having to thank the US for ‘fixing’ their country when it’s all over, if it ever will be.
Somehow, it’s hard for me to really care about that poor puppy when I imagine someone’s wife being raped and murdered in front of their eyes, and their children’s eyes… Both are evil, but there are major differences.
If I were an Iraqi citizen, I think I would consider it my duty to place as many roadside bombs for US soldiers as possible. Those people are heroes. Thanks to them, the US is no longer able to convince its people that this war is worth it, and thus getting them out, hopefully. That’s more than I can say for the American people, who seem to be too brainwashed and cowardly to stand up to their government.

I am very certain that there are lots of good and honorable people in the military.
But i’m also saying that, what is happining in Iraq right now, is TERRIBLY WRONG.
A military force should be there to GUARD a nation, to SERVE the people, to serve the constitution. And i don’t mean ’serve’ like ‘being slaves’, but beeing an arm of the people, NOT THE CORRUPTED ELITE. Cheney makes about 300 mil this year from his military contracts.
I KNOW what happened in German history. I know soldiers carry this war-attitude into their families and that war causes lots of suffering, long after the war has ended. It’s a fact. It’s not happening to some weak-minded weardos, but to EVERYONE WHO KILLS. Because KILLING surpasses a barrier. People who kill will be haunted by it.

You Americans need to do something YESTERDAY. Anytime I read something like “the time to stand up is now”, I get a little more worried, because by writing that, you are obviously not standing up, but sitting down at a pc. I realize that’s easy for me to say because I’m a European in Europe, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is YOUR responsibility and it will be YOUR pride, when you finally do. And there is A LOT you can do. Don’t be discouraged by talk like “the elite have gained so much power now, it’s too late to do anything about it” because thinking like that is exactly what they count on. You CAN change your country, there’s 300 million of you! How many elite do you think there were when THEY came to power, or even now? So how come THEY were able to succeed? Because they BELIEVED in themselves and their ’cause’!
It’s easier to change your country than you may think. You don’t even really have to DO anything. You can start here:
- STOP paying for entertainment glorifying violence!
- STOP carrying guns!
- STOP watching the mainstream media!
- STOP buying all kinds of luxury crap on credit to keep you occupied and passive!
- STOP claiming that America is the greatest country in the world! It may have been before you got there, but it’s not even rightfully yours.
- STOP being so damned paranoid about losing your so-called freedom! As long as you keep looking outside of yourself for your freedom, you will NEVER have it!
If you have problems with this, read the following book: “Freedom From the Known” by Jidu Krishnamurti, 10 times if you have to. When you truly understand it (it’s not that difficult) you will have an open mind, and you will be free! Then start living and enjoying that freedom every chance you get. Until then, what your country is doing to OUR world will always be YOUR responsibility!

Oh, and Slow Giraffe…I feel you on a couple of the things you said, but if we stop carrying guns it is OVER. Violent criminals will have guns regardless of whether they are outlawed or not, simply because people who already do not care if they kill someone or not are not going to lose sleep over breaking a gun-restriction law. So if I give up my gun willingly as a law-abiding citizen, then only outlaws have them…I lose the power to defend myself, my family, my property.
Our government is founded on the sound principle that all people have the right to LIFE, LIBERTY, and PROPERTY. The ownership and maintenance of a firearm is what allows you to protect your property, your liberty, and your LIFE. I’d love someone to come to MY house and tell me the 2nd ammendment was gone. We can’t compare a Private’s life with the whole United States military, but yes, not everyone in the military is psychologically well rounded either. Our local police have the same problems ! I lived in the US from 79 to 89, so I have a pretty good feel for your culture, including your admiration of guns. I understand that you are proud to be able to carry a gun, but don’t forget that pride is rooted in the times of the Wild West. Times have changed since then. There are several obvious reasons for the US having the highest crime rates in the world. The right to bear arms is one of them. I understand your point about what would happen if you stop carrying guns, but that doesn’t justify it. Like Einstein said: “you can’t solve a problem on the same level that it was created”. I know that’s easy to say, but that doesn’t make it any less true.
Since I returned to Europe, I have steadily seen our culture here influenced by American culture. Until a few years ago, schools used to be safe here. Now kids are starting to carry guns, and where do you think they got that idea? They even dress American. Things like American Idol and the like came from the US, and are now numbing Europeans too. Up until the ninetees, there was no such thing as commercials on television. Our (the Belgian) education system is ranked among the top 3 in the world, but that’s changing. I am not saying that everything European is good, and everything American bad. But the bad in American culture is very powerful to people who find it hard to think for themselves, and they are easily pulled along. I could put a long list here of other examples, and also examples of bad things in our own culture. I have often defended certain aspects of American culture to my fellow Belgians. But the subject right now is on the war in Iraq and the US plays quite a role in that, wouldn’t you say? And maybe you recall Belgium’s standing up to US demands for the war in Iraq when it started. Our government was ridiculed and intimidated by the US for that. “We weren’t taking our responsibility”…
The reason that so many people don’t like Americans has nothing to do with hating your so-called freedom. It has everything to do with the arrogance of expecting us to view freedom in the same way, without much understanding of our cultures. We do not view Americans as free people. We feel sorry for you, and we do not want to end up the same! Even though, in the end, that too is our responsibility.
But to me, the bottom line is this: We are all human, we are all connected. What we do to others, we do to ourselves.

The reason people feel more emotional outrage over witnessing the completely evil act of throwing a puppy over a cliff is because animals are the innocents of this world. Their instinct is for one thing and one thing only-the preservation of LIFE. Human beings know this intrinsically. What this evil piece of filth did, AND TO A BEAUTIFUL BABY FOR CHRISSAKES, literally defines what evil is-the total disrespect,disregard, and hatred for life. Another nice hit piece by this site. Every organization has bad people who belong, but you cannot condemn the entire organization with unqualified statements like: “These individuals, and untold others, are demonstrably psychopathic.” While I cannot condone these actions, they hardly represent the people over there as a whole. There have been atrocities in every war ever fought. However, this site would have you believe this happens everyday, all the time, and by a vast majority or soldiers and Marines and that just is not true.
No doubt, there are bad people that are part of this “revolution” movement as well. How much bloodlust is written on this site? It is the hatred of this movement which will forever hold it back. These acts should be condemned, but not the entire armed forces. Why are there no pieces of some of the good that is being done by our men and women in uniform in the region? Could it be because this site is for promoting hate?

I walked into a 10-house town in New Mexico once, just to make some photos because I appreciated that little town. Turns out that at one point, I was unknowingly on someone’s property (hard to tell where the property lines are in a shanty town like that). Then some guy, with obviously no brain, comes out pointing a shot-gun at me and yelling “you better get off my property before I blow you off!”. So much for diplomacy, that obviously wasn’t in his book. THAT, David, is the Wild West mentality I was referring to, and there is still plenty of it around in the US. In your previous comment you seemed to feel some pride yourself about being able “to clear the room with your 12-gauge”… Very impressive! Wow, look at me! I can pull a trigger!

Have you served? If not, then you know nothing. People can loathe us all they want. The fact remains that there are many reasons people serve, and many reason people stay. For you to assume that the only reason anyone is still there is because they are ORDERED to be there is naive. There are some that desert, some that stay for fear of the brig, and others, many others, that do believe in what is happening over there. No matter what you think about the reasons we came into Iraq, there is still work to be done. There are many Marines serving in country who do not believe the reasons we entered in the first place, but carry a great deal of honor for what we are trying to do now. There are others who have honor to fix what we have broken. Unless you have served, you don’t know. You will never read about anything good going on there on this site. This site hates the military, especially the USMC. Therefore, that is what you read. Only pieces that cast a bad light. Keep blindly accepting what you read here.

I used to respect the armed forces of America. I was sick about them recruiting perverts, criminals and lady soldiers. I was threatened when the COMBAT ARMS SURVEY indicated that our military would kill us if directed by the UN. Now that it looks like I will be defending myself from them soon, I feel warm all-over. If it turns out we have been poisoned (or soon will be) by CHEMTRAILS or will be starved for control, We really have no choice and nothing to lose. The point of serving was necessary in reference to your sweeping generalizations of why soldiers stay and carry out orders, etc. If you have not served, then you know nothing about why those who serve make that choice. It wasn’t a knock on you, or anyone that chooses not to serve. It just bothers me when there are men and women that are truly working to be noble and take their jobs there seriously and want to help the Iraqi people, NOW. It is a worn out argument of why we went in in the first place. There are many service men and women over there right now that you would be proud to know, and that will go on to do great things in life to help this country, even for you and those that loathe military men and women. There are many that feel the same way about our freedoms at home, but realize that the best way to make a change is from within, and it comes slowly at times. Being labled a deserter and being thrown in the brig will not help anyone.

Where you lose me is that without armed forces, those bad people would overtake the world, and how easy it would be if no one fought. How reprehensible. Animal abuse is just one step away from child abuse and/or domestic violence. Unless an animal is sick or aggressive, they are totally defenseless, especially the young ones. How can anyone be so heartless as to throw a puppy away like that soldier did? If it was a baby, could he do the same thing? I have heard of such attrocities occurring during the Viet Nam War (with babies and children). In our society today, pets play a large part in our lives. They provide us with unconditional love, help lower stress and blood pressure, make us laugh at some of their antics, etc. It is just plain SAD that anyone can do what he did.
In response to bill bailey, how did the doll holler like a puppy? I am not a Hate Amerca First believer, but I DON’T LIKE TO SEE ANY ANIMAL ABUSED. How can you be so blind to what is really happening in the world. Right here in America, things like this go on daily, leading to more death and violence of people.
