    The Right Perspective
    February 20, 2009

Russian Prime Minister Vladamir Putin has said the US should take a lesson from the pages of Russian history and not exercise “excessive intervention in economic activity and blind faith in the state’s omnipotence”.

“In the 20th century, the Soviet Union made the state’s role absolute,” Putin said during a speech at the opening ceremony of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. “In the long run, this made the Soviet economy totally uncompetitive. This lesson cost us dearly. I am sure nobody wants to see it repeated.”

Sounding more like Barry Goldwater than the former head of the KGB, Putin said, “Nor should we turn a blind eye to the fact that the spirit of free enterprise, including the principle of personal responsibility of businesspeople, investors, and shareholders for their decisions, is being eroded in the last few months. There is no reason to believe that we can achieve better results by shifting responsibility onto the state.”

Putin also cautioned the US against using military Keynesianism to lift its economy out of recession, saying, “in the longer run, militarization won’t solve the problem but will rather quell it temporarily. What it will do is squeeze huge financial and other resources from the economy instead of finding better and wiser uses for them.” Putin’s comments come in sharp contrast to Russia’s own military buildup and expansion.

Putin also echoed the words of conservative maverick Ron Paul when he said, “we must assess the real situation and write off all hopeless debts and ‘bad’ assets. True, this will be an extremely painful and unpleasant process. Far from everyone can accept such measures, fearing for their capitalization, bonuses, or reputation. However, we would ‘conserve’ and prolong the crisis, unless we clean up our balance sheets.”

“The time for enlightenment has come. We must calmly, and without gloating, assess the root causes of this situation and try to peek into the future.”

I dont blame him for his remarks, they seem honest. Many industries in their country probably have economic ties to corporate USA. Who wants to see their investments fade away because of bad policy here at home.

      ICEFARMER Reply:

I’m not so sure, the only thing I know about Putin and Russia is what I hear from the media (empty speak) until this. What if Russia is building up theyre military because of western powers presence? I mean we are more over there than they are over here, for now.
Why would he be laughing when it is more than possible for us to instigate a war to subdue the inevitable, a revolution. Its kind of interesting to watch nuclear detonations on youtube, but up close and personal?
IF THE GOVERNMENT GETS US INTO A MAJOR WAR, THAT HURTS OUR CAUSE
      REVOLUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND MUCH MUCH MORE, and they know this…

      West of the Rockies Reply:

ICEFARMER, We here in America already had a Revolution. However, the way things are, each of us must claim the fruits of that Revolution independently.

“………at the revolution, the Sovereignty devolved on the people; and they are truly the Sovereigns of the country, but they are Sovereigns without subjects (unless the African slaves among us may be so called) and have none to govern but themselves; the citizens of America are equal as fellow citizens, and as joint tenants in the Sovereignty.”
      Supreme Court of the United States, Chisholm v. Georgia (February Term, 1793) 2 U.S. 419, 2 Dall, 1 L. Ed. 440.

      Alan Reply:

WE are the COUNTER REVOLUTION. The global masters are attempting revolution, we want to stay true to the principles set forth in the American Revolution. And it would certainly appear that others in the world are feeling the same way.
It is spiritual and it is real! It took 200+ years, but I believe the civilized world is finally coming around to what the Founders realized.
Freedom is on the rise, not in decline. Unintended consequences will bite you in the ass every time!

It’s never been the people that were the problem. It’s always been the gubment! Same song, second verse.
The Russians face the same struggles we do and that is primarily the gubment. The psychopathic nut jobs running the show just need to be rounded up and shipped off to ONE of their personal islands. Dump em all there and let them fight it out for their little square of their new world. THEN, we can get on with straightening out all the problems they have caused.

Funny how you connect the Soviet Union and modern Russia. Surely, Russia today is no more “democratic” than the US, as we have seen with riot Police “restoring the order” against the demonstrators against globalization, but to allude to the Soviet Union is ridiculous.

As for the apparent duplicity of Putin’s military buildup, I don’t blame him for reading a few pages ahead in the NWO’s playbook, and realizing that he would have to either roll over and play dead, or go to war with the west. Do we really think that he would be willing to allow Russia to take a backseat to America and UK in the power structure of the New World Order?

Of course not. I think Putin realizes that the time of empire building is over, and the only way to have any kind of power, is through multi-polarism and by direct engagement with the US, not through proxy wars (Georgia, Missile shields in Poland) and energy-economic war (Ukraine, Kazakhstan).

    9. Robert Hillman Says:

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature, and has no chance of being free unless made or kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

      Marik Bromine Reply:

Pray tell, what is worth war? I value strongly the ideas of peace, freedom, liberty, justice and truth, but in all honesty, to kill for peace is in no way peaceful, to subjugate one group for another group’s freedom is tyrannical, to deny life to some to enhace the lives of others in injust, to lie and deceive to uphold order is unfair and untruthful. To fight for peace is oxymoronic. Sorry to be the epitome of what you appear to distain, but every point of view contains blindspots and is only a perspective from one angle, where often, from one or all other angles, a point of view, a moral, an ethic, can be just as wrong. I wouldn’t call those unwilling to wage war “miserable creature,” I save that phrase for the infirm, the pained, the suffering, the dead, the dying, the enslaved, the abused, and the tortured, my pity is lent to those that suffer, not to those that abstain from causing suffering. My reserve toward waging destruction is not out of personal safety, I care nothing for my own safety, my life means nothing to me, I merely feel that I am put to better use for the betterment of mankind if I am intact, not riddled with bullet holes or spraying depleted uranium and shed shrapnel onto other human flesh. I’d gladly die to save others, but I don’t feel that martyrdom is a very proactive nor productive effort.

      Observer Reply:

I greatly appreciate your thoughts on these matters, although, I can foresee no solution other than violence. Sadly, it is in mankind’s nature to destroy and kill as much as it is to create and protect. So long as that is true, there will be wars and violence. The situation at hand is as much history repeating itself as it is the future presenting itself. Hopefully, out of the ashes a new era of human enlightenment will emerge. Unlike historical challenges against oppressors the stakes are exponentially higher. With the technologies available to the oppressors in this age it is imperative that those who love and respect their fellow citizens are victorious or I fear that the impending slavery and deaths that would surely follow a loss would in fact be irreversible and doom mankind. I hope that you make it through the coming trial unscathed and safe. I hope that you and those like you who really care about people and can voice intelligent thought are present when the smoke clears to guide the masses into the great new era for all.

While we’ve been nicey nice……….they have been re-tooling with all its wealth coming in these days. it’s official I’d say.

      iZealot Reply:

Russia is not a Godless nation! They have a long history of Christianity as well as segments of many other diverse religions. Don’t spread nonsense and lies. Try to understand people instead of squaring off against each faction that the government tells you is “bad.” Russia has an extremely rich heritage, to sum their whole populace up with the distainful remarks of “a Godless nation” shows how much of a misled buffoon you are. Russia gave us some of the greatest literature in all of history, some of it, like Dostoevsky’s work, contains themes that are the antithesis of Godless, highly intuitive insights into spirituality and humanity.

    16. Dr. Sardonicus Says:

What the hell???? Just when you think you’ve heard and seen it all, something like this comes out. Is there any chance we could trade our ‘1st round draft pick’ (i.e., ‘Obangi’) for Putin? We couldn’t do worse! Putin seems like a far better leader, and far more intelligent.

I’m being facetious, of course..but you get the idea, I trust.

I once read an article that spelled out the many convoluted ways in which one group or nation was our ‘enemy’ on one hand but somehow an ally on the other. It read like a chart tracing the sex lives of the rock stars. I wouldn’t be surprised if Putin were engaging the US in a war of information, simply by using the unvanished truth to turn us against our leaders and corporate masters. They may have been even more helpful recently, if the following report is accurate: http://www.whatdoesitmean.com/index1209.htm They talk about Russian warships firing upon a Chinese freighter which was allegedly carrying a nuclear warhead bound for Seattle. It subsequently sank whie heading back to port. “My enemy’s enemy is my friend.”

    18. 9th1 Says:

Saint Petersburg Russia was of course named for Saint Peter.
Russia has a longer history of Christianity than the US by over
a thousand years. Putin’s comments show that he is a very intelligent
man. Every nation on the earth has some intelligent leaders.
Normally what history has shown is that the intelligent leaders
voices get drownded out by the rash fools and baffoons of greedy
war mongers. Just take a look around the world leaders today, and then
take a look back through history at what has already transpired.

Putin is a great leader. Simpletons in the US think that cheap oil is going to cripple Russia? Russia will only supply cheap oil to the EU. You think Britain won’t buy that cheap oil? Sure they will. Russia, China, and others do not have world wars to support. Only America, sadly, America is finished there is no way they can muscle their way through this. Hope America dosen’t launch “limited nuclear war”.

Hey all – Russia is allowing Christian education in their PUBLIC schools! Granted it’s Russian Orthodox, but so what the basics are there! They are more my brothers than any ACLU Ashkenasi. I went to Moscow on a mission trip in 1993 when their curency collapsed 20% in a week.
One of my most striking memories was seeing some scumbag in sunglasses (almost a parody of a pimp) speaking in Russian to a lovely girl of about 13-15 and her in tears as she pulled away from him. I heard that at that time a survey was done with Russian school children. The most popular choice for “what do you want to be when you grow up” for girls was #1 doctor #2….prostitute.
When our currency collapses, we are headed in that direction.
I hope we have some degree of moral fiber and character when it hits the fan here.

i think it pisses her off that putin appears to be smarter then her and is playing the game like a pro…..example; he made a killer move be announcing that russia would let humanitarian aid to afganistan come through russia,, but no yankee guns , if usa rejects, it makes usa look like blood thirst war mongers and if accepted it makes russia look like a good guy, plus all the stuff russia can steal while the goods are moved across russia………. its moves like this that puts putin at the top.
