Queen: Force Jobless to Find Work

Editor’s note: Can you say work brigade? Earlier this year, the British Chamber of Commerce estimated unemployment will soar by between 250,000 and 300,000 by 2011 as a result of the bankster engineered recession, actually a depression. “The total number of people out of work now stands at 1.67 million, according to official figures,” the Daily Mail reported in August. How will the Queen and the British government employ these people?

Fighting the economic downturn is the government’s “overriding priority” for the year ahead, the Queen has said.

In a slimmed down legislative programme, the government will attempt to prevent another banking crisis and protect depositors.

Other measures in the Queen’s Speech include forcing the long-term jobless to make more of an effort to find work.

But David Cameron criticised the plans, calling it “last year’s Queen’s Speech from yesterday’s prime minister.”

He said the programme of measures was driven by short-term political calculations not the need for long-term change.

In a speech to MPs and peers, amid the traditional pomp and ceremony of the State Opening of Parliament, the Queen said: “My government’s overriding priority is to ensure the stability of the British economy during the global economic downturn.
