Rachel Maddow Criticizes Obama on “Prolonged Detention”

Rachel Maddow has come around… too bad it’s too late. Liberals are easy — easily fooled that is. Liberals were so mesmerized by Obama’s rhetoric, the promises he had absolutely no intention of fulfilling, that they overlooked the fact he is a front man for the same sinister forces behind George Bush, who the liberals hated — and rightly so — with a vengeance. It is now impossible to ignore the fact that Obama will not only continue the policies of the Bush administration — torture, detention, war stretching out into the indeterminable future — but will build on them, as instructed. Obama will jettison his liberal followers because he no longer has use for them. It remains to be seen if they will mobilize and fight against the dark forces in control of the government, of if they will simply repeat the process during the next staged election cycle. It was Albert Einstein who said insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Are liberal Democrats insane?

First off, how has she “come around”? Because she was actually honest? This doesn’t mean that she supports the Constitution, only that she was honest enough to do some real journalism for a change. “Prolonged Detention” can never be lawful and it is against the constitution because you are suppose to be given due process even in the constitution. If by his definition you can locked someone up preventively for crimes they may commit as they strongly believe. This would mean they could just lock anyone away because they believe that they are going to commit a crime. This would apply to everyone in the world. Heck you could use this to make someone “legally dissappear” never to be heard from ever again. Sounds Like thought policing to me. Which means if you are not just mindlessly going along with what they want they just deem you a possible threat and Lock you away for it. Or just do it because they do not like you. This no matter in what form is totalitarian and unconstitutional. This is flat out treason beacause with this you can never feel safe or secure in your home because of never knowing if you are just suddenly going to be picked up for “crimes you may or may not commit.” And anyone passing anything to do with is committing treason. Unfortunately it is not in there is not a constitutional provision about If your government / legislation in fact works or tries to pass any bill, law, ammendment, statue, …etc to in actuality goes against the public the public has the right to immediately impeach all or any of legislation that the people chose to which does include the president of the Uniteds States. This is treasonous.

So a speeding ticket is now a crime is it? Wow last time I checked it fell under a traffic offense which only includes a fine not jailable..whereas a crime is something you can be put in jail for. Besides if that is the case you are still proving me right by your own words anyways. Becayse if that is all it takes then all they have to say is “due to your speeding ticket we believe you are about to commit murder so you are going to jail.” A traffic ticket does not ever warrant a response beyond the traffic ticket. And we are all human beings Sooner or later we get some minor infringement or another with there being so many rules that America has. Even if you are very lucky to go through life without an infringement then consider your self lucky. Oh that is right you forget the fact that they can make sure you have an infringement of some sort by making it up anyways.

uuuhhhmmm. A speeding ticket is a crime (state by state) It is a very low level misdemeanor but a crime none the less. And it is punishable by 2 states I know of by paying the fine or 30 days in jail. Also try not paying a traffic ticket and I will write to you while your in jail!

Point taken. But you are trying to compare apples to oranges. It still would not warrant a “prolonged detention” because it is thought you are going to commit another crime. If this was the case you can lock up at least 99 percent of the world’s population. Either because they have jay walked, littered ( even if they just spit their gum out onto the street it is still littering ) , public intoxication, any even the minorist of any disorderly conduct, simply breaking any ordinance or code could very well be included. You have to commit crime before fall into category.” Plus if you have not forgot the fact of the classification of what a terrorist is Someone who speaks of the constitution and having rights. Just owning a gun even if you do it 100 percent lawfully. Speak against the government. are known as right wing extremists by definition which does in fact fall into this category of “prolonged detention” becacause they are deemed possible terrorists and are therefore a danger to the country and need to be locked up. This category can be defined to 100 percent of the populus of the world if it is so wished. Umm by they way you can assume I have what ever record you want but I know that I do not. I am actually a law abiding citizen who tries to follow the law but there are so many to follow plus more coming out each month that it is impossible to not break a law. This is in fact setting people up to failure purposely. I do believe in having laws but no so much that you can break a law for something or another every day. This forces a law abiding citizens to not be law abiding citizens whether they want to be or not. Thus it can always be said that you have committed a crime in one way or another.

Rachel, I’m not a big fan, but hey – better late than never. I’ll say this; you’d have a hell of a time finding one word of criticism against any Republican by Hannity or O’Reilly during the last 8 years. If liberals had turned against Obama before the election, we’d be watching president McCain (or Palin) reading the very same script today, with no heat from the right.
– I think this “movement” is playing some part in turning Obama into the next Carter or Hoover rather than the next Hitler (knock on wood). Time to keep up the pressure and move public opinion toward a Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich next time rather than Mitt Romney.

It is not legal. This is flat out admitted treason by the president Obama. He has basically said with that he does not care about the constitution. Something that he as the highest office is suppose to uphold as the president and not infringe upon it but he is. Everyone seems to forget the implicit premise that the Constitution of the United States is for citizens of the United States. Only if the detainees in question are citizens does the Constitution have any relevance to their case. Otherwise, they are prisoners of war, and we can do what we like, when we like.

If they are not U.S. citizens, but detained as prisioners of war then the Geneva convention, is the body of law, and there are rules to be followed. You can not just do what you want when you want without violating these international rules.

It actually says the opposite. The Constitution applies to the Federal government, not to the people. It tells the government what it has the authority to do, and what it is not allowed to do.
Even the so-called Bill of Rights doesn’t tell you what rights you have, it tells the government it is not allowed to deny these rights to anyone.

It’s called “controlled opposition” and the Hegelian dialectic. Two opposing forces (thesis & antithesis) are created. The ensuing conflict the two forces create while battling each other produce the synthesis. The synthesis always benefits the creator of the dialectic.

Who said this only applies to foreigners? That’s the whole point. They are taking away the first amendment, 2nd, 4th, 5th and 10th for everyone, not just prisoners of war.
Also, what war? A war must be declared by congress. This is an illegal occupation.

We are not going to change anything by continually putting our faith into one person. That is the problem with the world. Humans since the inception of religion and tyranny have fallen prey to the idea of letting someone else do the work for them. Until we realize that democracy and freedom work when everyone gets involved, we can elect all the Ron Pauls and pray to all the gods we would like, nothing will change. We need to make realistic goals to create change. I mean, we’re all preaching to the choir here, and when we talk about this stuff to the sheep, they get scared and stop listening. We need to find REAL things to talk to people about, things that they can actually grasp onto. it doesn’t need to invoke fear into them, it needs to spark their interest and motivate their ability to critically think. Once they start to look passed the B.S. that I imagine most of us are able to do, then the truth will become self-evident. Once we get enough people to see the truth, it will be much easier to push back against the powers that be and turn them into relics of the past. So let’s do it already, brainstorm people, how do we get the masses to snap out of it and start to see the big picture?

I must beg the differ with you. If you take the facts into consideration, 9/11 could not have been done, at least in New York City, without Guiliani. Seems like he was moving into the World Trade Center just before that day and that meant that of course the place needed to be renovated, also giving him personally full access to an area that not even he could have done otherwise.
No more needs to be said. Alex Jones has proven year after year that all you have to do is look at the pattern. Guiliani, the mayor who did not want to leave that post, since it also happened to be election day that day, something that everyone seems to have forgotten, knows all about 9/11 being an inside job, a job that he participated in and did a stellar job at that.

Last time I checked, the people of this country choose Obama in vast numbers because he is articulate, thoughtful and educated. She’s honestly going after someone in her own party for failing to live up to his promises. When she can attack someone whom she’d previously supported it demonstrates that there is no overriding bias that prevents her from presenting the news. This integrity should be encouraged. A successful woman is always labeled in male terms. It is quite saddening to see individuals resort to that kind of attack. I also find it ironic that many advocates of personal freedom and choice are ultimately concerned with another individual’s sexuality.
Some of you can stand in the corner with your arms crossed and say “I told you so, nah nah nah” like a child, or you can welcome those who have recently awakened to the system. I think many people look at this site, read the articles/comments, and are turned off. Bottom line, don’t be an ass. I warned my friends and relatives about what would happen after election, and they were caught up in the rhetoric, but now they come to me and talk about how let down they feel. I would also like to point how many of YOU bow down to Alex and render him infallible. It’s easy to get caught up in the rhetoric of good speakers…

The whole MSNBC crew is ridiculous. I understand that Maddow is former Air America radio host – and then Olberman’s an ex-ESPN host with an axe to grind with Limbaugh. It’s unfortunate that they do no have a Lou Dobbs-equivalent on their network to expose that the emperor has no clothes. SUNLIGHT IS STILL THE BEST DISINFECTANT! If the networks would for once hold the current crop of politicans’ feet to the fire as they are supposed to and not read a script maybe things would get better as far as the truth being reported. There is no investigative journalism at the national level.

BUT NOTICE THIS: Rachel was a Rhodes Scholar! Just like Bill Clinton. Cecil Rhodes was, of course, the one who started the secret collectivist society whose front group in the U.S. is The Council on Foreign Relations!
