Rep. Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.) likely will introduce his controversial legislation to reinstate the draft again this year, but he will wait until after the economic stimulus package is passed.

Asked if he plans to introduce the legislation again in 2009, Rangel last week said, “Probably … yes. I don’t want to do anything this early to distract from the issue of the economic stimulus.”
Rangel’s military draft bill did create a distraction for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) soon after Democrats won control of Congress after the 2006 election.
In the wake of that historic victory, Pelosi said publicly that she did not support the draft and that the Democratic leadership would not back Rangel’s legislation. She also said Rangel’s legislation was not about reinstating the draft but was instead “a way to make a point” about social inequality.
Reintroducing the military draft bill, which would attract media attention, will be trickier for Rangel in 2009 than it was a couple years ago because the Ways and Means Committee chairman is now under investigation by the House ethics committee.
Democratic leaders have given Rangel a leading role in helping craft the new economic stimulus bill despite an array of ethics allegations that have surfaced over the last several months. The charges have ranged from failing to report rental income on a villa in the Dominican Republic to an alleged quid pro quo involving a legislative favor for a donor to an education center bearing Rangel’s name.

Reguarding the stimulus package… we should all use it for excess ammo. I’ll help stimulate my local firearms shop. =D As for the draft, the only thing I will be fighting are the storm troopers that try to take me to their FEMA death camp. Rot in hell, Rangel, Emanuel, Obama!!

Can you guess that Rangel probably has no children of draft age? It wouldn’t
matter anyway because privileged characters like the last 2 “presidents” were
able to weasel out of it anyhow.
Same argument was made back in Viet Nam days. If these old “chicken hawks”
wiggled out of military service during the last draft when they were young
they should either be DRAFTED THEMSELVES or disqualified from voting.
Easiest thing in the world to vote to send OTHER PEOPLE’S KIDS out to be
maimed and killed for the World Bank. Another thing entirely when it’s YOUR
OWN ARSE on the line.

If the draft was reinstated, maybe people would actually start protesting government action loudly like during Vietnam. It might work out for the good of the country. Right now, people always use the “If you dont want to fight, dont join” excuse. With a forced draft, people might actually start trying to stiop these kinds of useless wars.

A draft is another name for confiscation of labor.
Here’s a true story. In 1963 thereabouts, a hard working taxi driver in New York was making about $400 a month, decent money back then, and was living his life as we all would have been.
He receives a letter in the mail telling him that he must report to the military for active duty.
He’s told he will be replacing his 9 – 5 taxi driving job making $400 a month, with a uniform and gun and he’ll be told what to think, how to act, and that he will, without question, follow the orders he is given, and he will do all this for $60 a month, he’s then also told that if he doesn’t do it, he will be thrown in jail.
When one doesn’t wish to do something, and another forces them, no matter the circumstances, that is a confiscation.
When is enough enough? What will it take for you to act?
This is a war that isn’t being fought with weapons, so you who think about guns and bullets are living in the wrong era. This is a financial war, it will be done by the control of currency not of weapons.
Take the power and authority to create money out of thin air, and lend 90% more than you have to create profits away from the bankers, and all this stops.
Only Congress should control and issue the money of the United States, not a Central Bank.
Banks should only lend money, period.

I’m in the military draft age range
I don’t want to go overseas and my fellow kill human beings for ugly trolls like Rokerfeller, Brezinski, and Gates. I centainly don’t want to kill brown people for deranged old white men. I don’t want to kill innocent families in the name of fighting some manufactured uber-terrorist that died 6 years ago(Osama bin laden). If I wanted to fight terrorists, there are plenty of them in my own government. What would I do if I were drafted? What would one do when drafted by Hitler? Mao? Stalin? Either leave the country, go to jail, or fight back. Not sure what I will do until it happens.

I suspect the first casualty in an all-out war on citizens by the government will be the Internet. DARPA, after all, is the military sponsor of the Net’s creation, and they always meant to focus on its strategic value, not just our mindless amusement. Ditto any informed reistance. I worked in telecom for years, and I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the US government has retained exclusive control over everything which crosses the Net, as they alone handle the root domain servers (i.e., the “.com”, “.net”, “.org”, “.gov”, etc). A simple routing change could easily shut down all commercial and civilian traffic while keeping the government and military channels open. It would behoove each of us to have an off-grid contingency plan in place for the moment our online friends and favored truth sites suddenly become unreachable.

My kids are the perfect age for this and class. My daughter will soon be 20 and my son 19. They are good young people who have both graduated high school and work jobs. They both want to go to college but are having a hard time raising the money but I know they can do it. We get calls everyday from the military asking them if they are interested in help paying for college.(What good is planning for the future if they will most likely die in a war they do not believe in?)
I like my kids just the way they are. The are good hearted and smart young adults that I am very proud of. I do not want them to be changed through considitoning and brainwashing tactics in the military. I know this is done because my Father fought in the Vietnam war and my Grandfather in Germany and they told me this is done, not to mention my relatives and friends that have been in Iraq. They came back changed and not for the better….those that came back.
How can they protect themselves from a draft?

I have a 16 year old son who is a prime target in a couple of years and he knows what’s going on.
Even though I have shown him the truth, he’s still so immature.
Todays young generation are techno-geeks who don’t hav a clue about life. They think they are ruffing it if the cable T.V or the net gets cut off. I just don’t see anybody under the age of 21 today having enough maturity to wipe their behinds by themselves.
Sad part is the older generation still thinks that it is a civic patriotic duty to serve this country. Not anymore it’s not. It takes an idiot to sign up for the military of their free will today.
