On the same day my customer fell into receivership, Fed chairman Ben Bernanke told a congressional committee that he believed the economy was in the process of bottoming out and “would turn up later this year.” He’s not alone in his optimism. Over the past two weeks or so, it has become a cottage industry among economists and the media to spot the first “green shoots” of a recovery. Certainly shoots there may be. The stock market has rebounded smartly over the past two months, as has consumer confidence. Pending home sales have ticked up, while unemployment claims are easing. And many economists insist a manufacturing revival is in the wings because inventories have fallen so low that restocking must begin soon.

If the first amendment prevents any laws to be made abridging the the freedom of speech, the law should be deemed unconstitutional and be thrown out. Unless corruption happens in thee courts, houses, and enforcement.

Hey look Jones Alex, I was an avid Cooper listener since 1994 on shortwave. He was killed for few reasons not necessarily in order. He exposed 9/11 as an inside job; he exposed the income tax as a fraud; he pointed out who ran the NWO; and he walked around his town occasionally drunk and threatening people.
I met Bill Cooper twice – I have his book autographed. He was a scary guy that could erupt on a moment’s notice. He was the real deal with all his human faults.
The thing all of you need to get into perspective is that on 2000-2001, Alex Jones was hardly on the radar as a broadcaster, and he was a 20-something making lots of immature mistakes. He didn’t have one-tenth the clout he has now.
Cooper recognized the raw talent in Alex, and may have been slightly threatened; but Alex was not a big deal back then.

Oh my God. I completely disagree with the idea that automakers should “just make more fuel-efficient cars”. That simple? Does anyone know how much it costs to release a new vehicle model in the U.S.? And who’s responsible for that… overkill Governmental regulation… Billions.
Anyone else think this “green” hype is awful convenient for slumping U.S. auto sales, paranoia fed by Uncle Sam as well. Anyone else think perhaps they want their hands deeper into auto manufacturing (banking, prescription drugs, real estate) the list goes on and on… and all of their bailout “help” is really just BUYING the industry.
Perhaps they can create that “everything is on the up and up”, for Wall Street and industry, while at the end of the chain, the PEOPLE, you and me, are still swinging in the wind with foreclosures, unemployment, wage cuts, price hikes… but when it comes time to collect our dollars, even harder earned yet, they can demand because “the crisis is over, haven’t you heard?” We’re driven further into the ground, further desperate and further likely to turn for help to… well, the Federal Government, right? Since they own everything, there’s nowhere else to go. That’s one way to get your hands on everything, from the very top on down to you and me.

If you go to college (and take econ 101) you will see the fundamental accounting problems that our country’s economy is based upon. A lot of businesses are allowed to maintain such a high debt ratio that they are literally the equivalent to a personal “paycheck to paycheck – used to pay the credit cards off in order to not get evicted”. And then counting stock on hand and depreciated values of equipment as an asset. This just makes no sense. When did it become okay to run your business in the red then pretend “its not that bad” when your business is not even clearing a positive revenue?
Now toss in the govt throwing out cash to private industry – and you have a mix for even more problems.
Now toss in the fact that the media blows up the problems – and people panic… I think that the media feels like if they say it enough times it will come true..

Funny, I have noticed the same thing. TV business reports from the NYSE are almost giddy, reporting how great things are, and now is the time to jump in the market again.
And the corporate media reports are obvious “best world” scenario type reports, a definite attitude change from January-March reporting. To me it is obvious how hard the reporters are trying to paint a rosy picture.
From a personal point of view, I only see the economy getting worse. More and more job losses. Myself and many friends have either lost their jobs, lost their businesses, are looking for work and cannot find it. Unless of course you take minimum wage, which will not even support 1 person much less a family. I have been looking for 2 months now, and nothing.
66% of our economy is based on consumer spending, and if more and more consumers have less and less money each month, the economy will NEVER recover.
We will soon become a 2 class society, the working poor and the very rich.

I work in Manhattan and everyday there is a new place with a sign in the window. I also notice alot of items starting to not be available in mom and pop stores. I plan on doing a video in the next few weeks on this subject.
For those who have been considering our advice in getting prepared for anything, I think now would be a good time to get off your ass and gather some essential things.

I live in ’small town Michigan’ and the malls look like ghost towns. LOTS of vacant space & the hard core ‘mall zombies’ just keep showing up to walk the aisles. Not much buying though. Small town downtown areas look the same as the malls with vacant stores. The sheep keep saying crap like “It’s so nice to have some finally have some parking downtown!”. They don’t realize that there are more parking spaces than cars because NOBODY IS GOING THERE TO DO BUSINESS ANYMORE! Our local ‘China-Mart’ stores do great business, but empty spaces on the shelves keep appearing. I overheard a couple of clerks comment about how the trucks aren’t coming in as fast as theu used to & they aren’t packed as full when they arrive.
But I guess we don’t need to worry. The recovery is ‘just around the corner’. Problem is the road I see doesn’t have any curves or turns for a long time. So I guess I’ll just “…cling bitterly to my guns and religion”. And if the government gets any more ‘helpful’ in this economic crisis I just might be tempted to share those things with them.

there is enough junk floating around this country that every man woman and child could live well for some time to come
so what if stuff is not brand new
a book you buy at a flea market for 5 to 10 dollars
contain the same words as a book you buy at borders for 30 to 40 dollars
and yet even flea markets seem to be dying
this is a sad day for america when the last true vestige of free enerprise slowly dies
as for me im going back into the forrest with this long bow I just bought at a flea market for $35(which serves the same purpose as one I could of bought at Gander mountain for $175)

Flea market??? We don’t have any flea markets in the economic asshole of America [ie. Mid-Michigan]. A few seasonal farmer’s markets, a few charity based second hand shops & a LOT of well stocked pawn shops. Lots of rummage & garage sales during good weather [meaning NOT winter]. Seems like most folks are shedding their ‘extra’ goodies that they bought before times got even tougher. Remember, Michigan has been in a ‘recession’ for over 6 YEARS now, we were never invited to participate in the recovery from the last one. Lots of folks poaching deer & small game to keep meat on the table. But they risk an encounter with ‘Queen Jennifer’s’ Game Wardens, who have been known to shoot first & ask questions later, as they confiscate the dead or wounded perpetrator’s car, bank account, etc. But the freaking sheep in this state JUST LOVE our Democrat Governor and President. Go figure. I would personally lead a peasant revolt here, but the sheep are too occupied watching a couple of really bad sports teams & Amerikan Idle to care about this republic getting sacked, burned & the citizens raped.

The economy probably has bottomed out. Either Q1 of Q2 of this year will likely be marked as the trough of the recession. People don’t understand that it takes time for many areas of the economy to start seeing recovery after a recession hits it’s low point . Especially one this long and acute.

I think the Q2 or Q3 is more likely to find the bottom. But it is the staggering job losses that will delay the recovery for years to come. Job losses are expected to continue thru the year. Most economists are now saying 2011 for a job recovery on the optomistic side, 2014 on the pessimistic side. If we do indeed hit the bottom in the next 6 months, it will be a long and very slow recovery.

I don’t see any jobs being created in any significant degree. Matter of fact, more people are losing jobs. More jobs….THAT would tell me things are “recovering”.

It’s all a smokescreen of bullshit. Some of these houses that are sitting empty are cute and can be fixed up…however, I, personally, wouldn’t do it…why?….
Everybody is losing their job, will then lose their house, you can already see the roads etc, taking a shit and needing work…where is the money going to come from? Place a heavier tax burden on the homeowners who still have a home…they then will lose their home also due to heavier tax burden…more taxes for the existing homeowners. It’s got to come from somewhere.
Why would I buy a house knowing what I have to look forward to burgeoning taxes. Most of these foreclosed houses need to be brought back up to code. Spend the money fixing it up, bringing it up to code…$20,000…then come the burgeoning taxes…the bank doesn’t care how much money and hard work you have put into it…they will foreclose when you can’t pay. You are out your hard work and money…they don’t care!!
They just want YOU (the cattle) pumping more of your hard earned money into the mythical pit of the dead American dream.
People sometimes don’t see the big picture. They just want to be told things are getting better. It’s all a smoke screen…again, what the talking heads are counting on is people being stupid. As I said, I don’t see any jobs being created….THAT IS KEY…they don’t realize that is a big part of the problem. Things won’t get better until that is addressed.

In clear view, this trend of Bankruptcy has been going down hill for several years. Just look up how many popular or well-known companies that don’t exist anymore. It’s staggering. Some are barely hanging in there. People are being laid off by thousands everyday.

When you add up the numbers of official gold holdings (September 2008) – I did it in Excel – it’s 31,526.9 tonnes so my first question is where is the rest?
2nd it says that the 145,000 tonnes of gold worth US$4.39 trillion which is in Continental EU scale, in US scale it is 4390 trillion USD. So what I did is I have calculated the official gold holdings’ value here:

Yes I to have been hearing so called Ecoomists saying the economy is getting better.
I also just heard that IBM now has 74,000 employees in Indian, all US outsourced jobs and they are just one of thousands.
Another Indian outsourcing company in India has 54,000 employees. JP Morgan Chase Bank outsources 250 to $300 Million a year in jobs and projects. After getting$45 Billion in Bailout money, they announced they are increasing outsourcing 25%.
The US surpassed the $250 Billion Dollar mark in outsourced jobs.
Is this Economic recovery. Of course not, it is fraud and anti Americanism.
The Labor Department does not include any outsourcing numbers in unemployment figures or quarterly job loss figures.
If they did, they could not promote any job creation that would even come close to number of outsourced jobs and we would be negative jobs forever.
It is a lie and fraud.
I caleed the Department of Labor and asked about this and what did they tell me.

You forgot that controlling interest of IBM was purchased by the Communist Chinese a few years ago. They dictate what the company does now and also have access to ALL the technology aquired by IBM since it’s inception.
GM just built a new 46 million dollar plant in India, and took a tax write off doing it. Yet GM cannot pay their suppliers, their bond holders and are taking billions in government (taxpayer) handouts.
Microsoft is building a multi million plant in India, one of the biggest supporters of H1B1 immigrant work visas is Bill Gates. That way he can replace his well paid US programmers and designers here in the USA, those that built his company, with imported cheap foreign labor. He makes more money.
Toll roads, built with our hard earned tax dollars here in the USA are being sold to foriegn governments, who will now control the fees collected from the USA users and ship the money back overseas to their country.
Yes, the Globalists, “free traders”, politicians and banksters have sold out you, your family, and our great country for tokens. They got theirs so “screw you.”

Just read where GM paid $625 million for their glass enclosed high rise office building just last year. That they will declare bankrptcy on June 1. Maybe renegoiate their labor agreements, close more plants , lay off 21,000 more workers here and move those jobs to Mexico and Korea.
All those that are holding their stock, bonds in their company will loose everything. No comments on wether they will pay their suppliers.
Why doesn’t the gov seize all their assests before they flee the country with our billions of dollars in tax payer money?

The outrageous gas prices of a year ago were evidence enough for me that natural market fluctuations were being manipulated and forced on the public. If those in power have most of the wealth, than it stands to reason they can not only crash the market, they can resurrect it as well. To deceive the world, the bilderbergs will show that Obama’s policies of socialization and communism actually work to revive the economy. Once they have built the case that his policies are working, they will push the next domino over, triggering a world-wide economic collapse which makes the last year look like child’s play. We will then be in “unprecedented times, calling for unprecedented action.” Global communism will rise; much the same way it is rising in the U.S.S.A. “Terrorists, extremists, and dissenters” will be removed from the picture via uprisings and rebellions. Individualists will be labeled the scum of the earth; while globalists will be labeled virtuous and intellectually superior. If you think the mass brainwashing has been bad so far, wait until the uprisings and rebellions have been quelled. Then you will see truely programmed people running every detail of the world. An entire generation of children will be raised with no concept of thinking for themselves. Community service will be the greatest deed to which they aspire. Unwanted genes will not survive the womb. Roger Waters will be taught in schools the way Hitler is today.
Of course, this plan could be stopped before it comes to fruition. The light could expose those playing in the dark. I’m not convinced at all. I remember Bush who along kept telling us the economy was “sound” when it clearly wasn’t. How can you have perpetual wars, hardly any manufacturing base, our massive trade deficit, corporate offshoring, outsourcing, hiring all manner of visa workers/illegal aliens and us paying for the illegal aliens’ births, ect and go on to have free school and now they want the DREAM Act.
And we’ve bailed out the banks twice and had a Stimulus package. How can anything be better when they’ve done nothing but spend money like drunken soldiers?
