Report Says Iran Has Data to Make a Nuclear Bomb

The report by experts in the International Atomic Energy Agency stresses in its introduction that its conclusions are tentative and subject to further confirmation of the evidence, which it says came from intelligence agencies and its own investigations.
But the report’s conclusions, described by senior European officials, go well beyond the public positions taken by several governments, including the United States.
Two years ago, American intelligence agencies published a detailed report concluding that Tehran halted its efforts to design a nuclear weapon in 2003. But in recent months, Britain has joined France, Germany and Israel in disputing that conclusion, saying the work has been resumed.

Actually, you only need 90% uranium to make a nuke. And its not just about having the atoms hitting each other at a fast rate of speed. The atoms have to hit a specific way for it to work. In other other words, there are a number of other factors that must be considered to make a weapon. This includes the type of reactor, among other things to make an effective bomb. You can find information about nuclear reactions in any science textbook and several scientists, like Enrico Fermi, who can give you information about the physics of nuclear chemistry. The ideas of making a bomb seem easy, but actually doing it is very complicated and requires some degree of skill.

I can`t see how it would legitimize all this hostility even if the Iranians did have nuclear weapons, since they are a sovereign country and all.
All the agression is coming from the US, UK, France, Israel and Germany, so why don`t we mobilize to disarm those nations first; considering that they`re obviously the greater threats to world peace atm.

wrong. smash two hunks together, they explode. the trick is to get Uranium isotope 235 at high concentrations, about 95%, and to filter out Uranium 238. That makes it stronger, but the same principle is involved: smash two pieces of uranium together.
critical mass occurs at about 10 kilograms, probably a little over. That means the uranium atoms which are naturally emitting neutrons in that mass all of a sudden become unstable, a danger to themselves. the cascade of neutrons becomes stronger than the glue that keeps uranium together as uranium.
if you want to get a real nice explosion, you purify your uranium isotopes using big centrifuges to spin uranium hexaflourine gas. the isotopes stratify and you draw off the ones you want. then instaeed of two random shapes you make a baseball configuration, two hemispheres like an old fashioned kapok baseball, along the seam. now, you use explosives to chuck thoe babies together hard. but you want the explosions to go off simultaneously, to the nano nano second, so that you get a nice regular spherical shape at critical mass expanding reguarly. how do you do that? you use special transistors called krytons, which are used in xerox machines.
the NNPT embargoes goods used for spinning the uranium gas and electronics for making the explosion even. this is your basic a-bomb, of course, not a hydrogen bomb, which uses an a-bomb as a trigger anyway.

nope, it’s supposedly secret info. secret info you can find on wikipedia and by brwosing los alamos labs and putting 2 and 2 together. anglo-american physicist freeman dyson had a student who “learned the secrets” and turned them in as a research paper by just phoning around. the problem is the secret is too simple: smash two hunks of uranium or plutonium together.

Just because they have information to make a nuke does not show intent, but it does show that those Iranians have access to the Internet.
Anyway, how can Iran be condemned for having information to make a nuke and the countries who have SEVERAL nuclear weapons and are consistantly threatening and provoking other countries are portrayed as the “good guys”.
I believe the real threat in this world are the countries that are peddling this propaganda against Iran. The USA is currently engaged in two pre-emptive wars that border Iran, call me weird but I think this gives Iran the right to build up its defenses, especially now that the USA is threatening Iran itself.
Finally, another “preemptive” war will only, once again, precipitate into a much stronger war against the remaining Rights of Americans. A war with Iran will also be a war on us.

Why do you think their is so much news coverage about Iran all of a sudden?
Iran has been working on Nuclear Fuel-rods for clean energy for years. The reason why we know this is because Iran filed a report to the UN not to worry and they are only working on fuel-rods.

I find it interesting that this “data” is so crucial to bombing another country. You can find .pdf file online on how to make almost any given type of bomb. Yet, Iran has data. Forget the fact the U.S.A is the only country in the worlds history that has used an A-Bomb. Yet, we ridicule the rest of the world for having “data”.
Granted, Iran’s leader is a total lunatic, but who are we to say what that country can and can not do? If we want to do something, declare it through Congress and quit bullying other countries. I hate to see the Iranians (and our soldiers) have to go through a senseless war because of a couple idiots in government.

If you just reported news like your a robot that would be boring and you would look like you didn’t care, “which we all agree aj cares”. I know how anti-war most of the “regulars” are on these boards who don’t think any Middle Eastern country could possibly have weapons capable of injuring our country, but that’s just the liberal whitewash. There are such things as terrorists and Islamofascists who really do want to kill Americans; sure many of them have been coddled and nurtured to cultivate this atmosphere of hatred towards westernized countries by federal agents and govt provocateurs, but if any of you have studied Quranic law, specifically Shariah, you’d see their history even beginning with Mohammed has a legacy of killing infidels, or basically conversion by the sword (either believe or Allah says we can kill you). I don’t know if Iran does have nukes capable of hitting our US borders, but I do know they certainly have nuclear capabilities but more than likely only useful against Israel.
