According to sources within Donald Trump’s transition team, the president-elect is seething over comments made by top adviser Kellyanne Conway Sunday, as she said that Trump supporters are having a hard time accepting that Mitt Romney could be offered the Secretary of State position.
The sources reportedly spoke to MSNBC’s Morning Joe program, prompting host Joe Scarborough to declare “This is sabotage!”

“This is just breathtaking. It’s unbecoming,” Scarborough said after Conway appeared on CNN and NBC, commenting that anti-establishment Trump voters are viewing the potential appointment of Romney as a ‘betrayal’.
‘It’s just breathtaking in scope and intensity the type of messages I received from all over the country,’ Conway said, adding that she ‘is all for party unity, but I’m not sure we have to pay for that with the secretary of state position.’
“We don’t even know if Mitt Romney voted for Donald Trump,” Conway also said, adding “I think there are concerns that those of us that are loyal have, and we want a secretary of State who’s loyal to the president.”
Conway also questioned Romney’s capability to be Secretary of State, saying “Gov. Romney, in the last four years, has he been around the globe doing something on behalf of the United States of which we’re unaware?”
Conway denied that she was campaigning against Romney, suggesting instead she is just “a concerned citizen.”
Morning Joe reported that Trump’s other aides, including former Breitbart head Steve Bannon and Reince Priebus, are unhappy that Conway “went rogue” and suggested she is “pushing her own agenda,” which they consider to be “dangerous”.
“Not only has there been reporting from, like, the top of the organization, three or four sources at the top of the organization but everybody around that incident said she went completely rogue and Donald Trump was furious yesterday that she would take that upon herself to keep attacking Mitt Romney.” Scarborough said.
“I’d fire a staffer in a second if they did that,” he added.
Scarborough added that Conway’s statements are “extraordinarily undisciplined” and called her a ‘political child’ who ‘doesn’t know how to play the game,’ adding that she ‘should just probably be quiet.’
“Kellyanne doesn’t have a job yet, and she’s angry about that,” Scarborough said. “She hasn’t been offered the job she wants. No, she is. I can report that and so she’s striking out. She’s not in any of the meetings where these decisions are being made, and she’s angry about that. At the same time, you don’t go out and attack the vice president-elect because you’re mad at Reince Priebus.”
Conway responded to the MSNBC report by suggesting it is “false” and “sexist,” according to senior producer Jesse Rodriguez.

“We have a response from Kellyanne Conway, who says about our reporting this morning [that] it is sexist. She says she can have any job she wants, and is thinking about taking a role inside and outside of the campaign,” Scarborough later noted.
“I want to know, is she suggesting that the people that she’s working with, three people at the top of the Trump transition campaign are sexist? … I don’t understand.” he added.
