Mobs of rioters attacked truck drivers and families in Charlotte, North Carolina before looting Walmart after a black cop shot dead a black man who police say was armed.

Officers were serving a warrant against another individual when Keith Lamont Scott exited his vehicle with a gun and was shot dead by police, who said he posed an imminent threat. The officer who killed Scott, Brentley Vinson, is an African-American.

Scott exited the vehicle “armed with a firearm and posed an imminent deadly threat to the officers who subsequently fired their weapon striking the subject,” according to a statement from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

‘Black Lives Matter’ supporters insisted that Scott was “disabled” and that he was only carrying a book.

Within hours, a mob of around a thousand rioters began staging unrest, blocking Interstate 85 and looting trucks before setting fire to the contents.

One family said that the mob threw rocks at the windshields of cars, shattering the glass.

According to reporter Joe Bruno, the rioters attacked a female truck driver, leaving her fearing for her life.

Rioters – who are being described as “protesters” by the media, also smashed their way into a Walmart store.

After the rioters began throwing bottles at police officers, SWAT teams were deployed and tear gas was used to clear the agitators. At least 12 officers were injured, with one of them being hit in the face with a rock.

Members of the media also had bottles thrown at them by the “protesters”. Vehicles were also smashed.

Another video shows a police cruiser being swarmed by the irate mob.

“We out like the Taliban!” one rioter was heard yelling on a live Facebook stream.

“This ain’t no one-day action!” another shouted. “This is the first time people standing up!”

“We ain’t playin’ no motherfuckin’ games, nigga!” asserted another individual.
