He may have faded from the national political scene a year ago, after his dark-horse presidential run came to naught, but Rep. Ron Paul ’s influence is still being felt in campaigns and policy debates across the country. Indeed, the latest legislative priority of the libertarian Texas Republican — auditing the Federal Reserve — has gained support in unlikely quarters.
Paul’s legislation, popularly known as the “Audit the Fed” bill, has drawn 244 cosponsors, ranging from Ohio’s John A. Boehner , the conservative Republican floor leader, to Michigan’s John Conyers Jr. , the liberal Democratic chairman of the Judiciary Committee. Some Democrats have even picked up on Paul’s rhetoric. “It’s time to yank the shroud off the Fed and shine some light on these events,” New York Democrat Edolphus Towns , chairman of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said at a hearing last week about the shotgun marriage between Bank of America and Merrill Lynch last fall to stave off the latter’s collapse.
At the heart of Paul’s anti-Fed crusade, as well as his other ventures, is the grass-roots lobbying organization Campaign for Liberty, a home base for his fervent band of presidential supporters. The organization was launched just over a year ago with cash left over from his bid for the GOP nomination. The 501(c)4 non-profit group claims a quarter-million members and says it has 20 full-time employees and coordinators in all 50 states.

My state-Illinois. There are 19 congressmen-12 democrats and 7 republicans. Of the twelve democrats five are cosponsoring h.r. 1207. Of the seven republicans, six are cosponsoring it (the one exception is Mark Kirk from my neighbor district.) Republicans are unproportionately cosponsoring this bill. I hate how the democrats are playing politics with this. I’m sure this is happening everywhere. Could people from other states find out who the reps are in their state and see who is or isn’t cosponsoring the bill and of what party they belong to?
My congresswoman is not a cosponsor of the bill and I have yet to write her a letter, email, or give a phone call. She’s a liberal democrat and I dont think she would cosponsor it. Maybe i’m wrong but it seems like she’d have to get more than one letter to make up her mind. Do you guys think I should write her anyways and if so what should I write?? Thanks for any help

If I were a pig of a US Congressman and had just passed the carbon taxation and the ‘anti’-hate bill and authorized yet another appropriation for the Iraq war and remained un-hung by my consituents, I don’t think I would vote for it–AS IT IS ABSOLUTELY MEANINGLESS!!…Even if they pass it, they wouldn’t have the guts to enforce it and the whole thing would be lawyer-locked for years.
When Rumsfeld said on September 10, 2001 that the DoD was missing nearly 2 trillion dollars and Americans sat on their arses waiting for him to deliver the punchline…they are still waiting. So what if it is revealed to the American people that trillions were created and given to insiders…what are they going to do? What did they do after 9-11, the wars based on lies?…ENRON and GM? Nothing…Nothing…Nothing….pouted and whined, yes…but that was it.

What is the militia? The term “militia” consists of two parts: the organized militia and the unorganized militia. According to the organic Maine Constitution and backed by the United States Code, the organized militia is the standing military force in the state (the “State Guard”) while the unorganized militia (which is commonly called the militia) consists of all other males between the ages of 17 and 45 (or 65 if they have prior military service). The militia was established for the purpose of defending the state (a sovereign nation) and the United States of America (a union of nations) from all enemies “foreign and domestic” based upon principles of community self defense established hundreds of years before the nation was formed. However, while the organized militia was tasked with the defenses of the states, our forefathers, having just fought their own government, did not place their entire trust in the government or a standing army to protect them but reserved the right and the means to protect themselves – thus the unorganized militia. The militia was and is a defensive body set up so that its members can take care of normal peace by internal lawless elements, or government usurpation of the rights and power of the people guaranteed by the Constitution, there is a group of people that owe their allegiance to no one except God and their fellow Americans who desire to remain free.
The mission and purpose of the militia have not changed. What has changed is the status of the organized militia. The “State Guard” with the duty and obligation of protecting the state is now under federal jurisdiction (the “National Guard”) thereby obligating it only to the federal government making the unorganized militia the only constitutional force available for the defense of the state.

A bit off topic but that’s a good point. I wanted to start a militia myself, but to no suprise I find that it’s almost legally impossible, of course a group of like minded friends who happen to have guns is even better.
If/when the fed gets audited, be prepared for “al cida” to magically start terror attacks or a pandemic, or EMP attack, we have to take a stand now on this or the price of tyranny will only grow greater.

It’s all a nice thought.
Transparency would kill the FED. These criminals have operated for nearly a century under cloak and shadows. Their minions in government have done as they are told.
Every war of the 20th. century was staged for the benefit of the ruling class, and so far, every war of the 21st!
Soldiers, turn on your commanders, seize transportation and return to America! THE WAR IS HERE! THE ENEMY IS THE BANKSTERS AND THEIR FEDERAL DO-BOYS!!
LONG LIVE THE REVOLUTION!

You would really have to be stupid to believe that all of these criminals would vote to expose their criminality. These people are part of the crime. If the criminal, traitor, bankers are exposed, the whole plot will be exposed, and the Congress and Senate will all go to jail. They have such contempt for us.

The longer the current banking system survives the more looting of property they can conduct,
So it really doesn’t matter if the fed crashes. The crooks will miss their skim, however.
Even a run on the banks doesn’t seem to bad compared to what the Nazi World Order has in mind for the people.
I look at the fed as an old cat who’s claws need to be nipped, otherwise each time it gets mad it starts pulling turf out of the playing field. It is time to place this old lion in the tall grass under the scrutiny of the vet to see if it is healthy or if it is a crawling vessel of corruption the needs to be put down. Or, maybe it just needs to have it’s claws trimmed

I don’t know how this situation got so bad. how comes that a private entity (the federal reserve) has been given power to control most of the financial affairs of the U.S? if it was the president of the time (Woodrow Wilson) who signed away the money affairs of the American people, why have they (the american people) been so quiet. The federal reserve is nothing more than a pack of leeches who occationally gather to plan how they are going to leech the american people any particular year. I don’t think they just need to be audited; they need to return all the money they have stolen. who would not want to do what they are doing: print money, and tell an idiot (unfortunately, this time the idiot is the U.S government) to take that printed piece of paper and consider it as valuable as whatever number has been printed on it and pay for it later plus taxes. WHAT KIND OF DEAL IS THIS? what the federal reserve has been allowed to do is to plainly steal from the american people since 1913. THEY NEED TO RETURN ALL OF THAT MONEY, and then HANG THEM HIGH!!!
