Ron Paul: Democrats Who Opposed Climate Bill Voted For It Anyway

In a Campaign for Liberty video commentary, Ron Paul reveals that even though up to 20 Democrats opposed the controversial climate bill, they voted for it anyway, underscoring once again how the vast majority of Congress members are bought and paid for by the elite in Washington.
The Congressman points out that the eight Republicans who voted for the bill did so in order to provide political cover for the Democrats. Even if those Republicans had not defected, some of the 44 Democrats who voted against the bill would have changed their votes anyway to ensure the bill’s passage.
“One Democrat talked to me, a friend of mine,” said Paul, “and I said how are you going to vote on this bill and he said I’m going to vote for the bill but then he sort of whispered and he said, but I sure hope it doesn’t pass.”
Asked why he was voting for a bill that he actually opposed, the Democrat responded, “yeah I have to do that.”
“I said are there any other Democrats that are going to be voting for it and they really don’t like the bill, and he said, oh yeah about 15 or 20 of them,” added Paul.
This underlines how Washington is completely corrupt at its core and how, even if individual members of Congress oppose a bill, they vote for it anyway just to satisfy the agenda of the elite and maintain the status quo.
If the 15 or 20 Democrats who opposed the bill had actually voted against it, the bill would have failed and America would not be facing another great depression, a massive lowering of living standards, and the complete regulation of every aspect of our lives, all of which the climate bill will grease the skids for.
Writing on the Campaign for Liberty website, Congressman Paul states that the climate bill will “put another nail in the economy’s coffin”.

Paul compares the carbon trading scam, a system that is owned and will benefit to the tune of billions or even trillions of dollars long time environmental hysterics like Al Gore and Maurice Strong, to how the Catholic Church sold indulgences to sinners from the 10th century onwards.
The Congressman illustrates how the Obama administration has cited Spain as an example of how a “progressive energy policy” can be successful, when in fact Spain is in economic turmoil partly as a result of this very policy.
“The administration has pointed to Spain as a shining example of this type of progressive energy policy. Spain has been massively diverting capital from the private sector into politically favored environmental projects for the better part of a decade, and many in Washington apparently like what they see. However, under no circumstances should anyone serious about economic recovery emulate an economy that is now approaching 20 percent unemployment, where every green job created, eliminated 2.2 real jobs and cost around $800,000 each!”
“The real inconvenient truth is that the cost of government regulations, taxes, fees, red tape and bureaucracy is a considerable expense that has to be considered when companies decide where to do business and how many people they can afford to hire. Increasing governmental burden directly causes capital flight and job losses, as Spain has learned. In this global economy its easy enough for businesses to relocate to countries that are more politically friendly to economic growth. If our government continues to kick the economy while its down, it will be a long time before it gets back up. In fact, jobs are much more likely to go overseas, compounding our problems.”
Paul concludes by pointing out that the climate bill is based around the manufactured threat of global warming and that even if one accepts the premise that CO2 emissions cause significant temperature increases, the biggest polluters, the U.S. government and specifically the U.S. military, will be exempt from most of the new EPA regulations anyway.

nearly $8 here thank goodness theres an Indian reservation where smokes(and gas(albeit shitty)) are much cheaper(approx. 25-33%)

Hey Rod, do yourself a favor and stop buying those cancer sticks. No, I’m not your mom telling you what to do, but I kicked the habit five years ago. I smoked my last cigarette 6/24/2004 at 10:26AM. It was one the best things I ever did! It wasn’t easy, I was smoking two packs a day. I used the patch and it helped.. It’s up to you! Think of how many of Alex’s DVD’s you could afford to buy and copy with the savings! You could also buy a water filter, and some storeable food, spare ammo, survival gear or whatever!
But Carbon Tax isn’t a sin tax….it’s no sin to breath out CO2..that’s life!

Even if Carbon was a problem, how the heck would a tax fix things, you’d still have the carbon, its not like the tax magically makes carbon disappear. I mean even the NWO’s own logic doesn’t work.
I mean, something more logical, would be to tell everyone to get houseplants, they will breathe your carbon and produce oxygen.
So if I produce more oxygen from having plants, do I get an oxygen credits to pay off my carbon debts.

Perhaps the Ron Paul’s are another tactic to give us false hope while they finish railroading the rest of their agenda? Maybe in private they say:
“Hey lets keep the awake people subdued just long enough while we finish off the rest of our plan.. yeah give them false hope that peaceful politics will give them the chance to take back their country, because nobody wants armed conflict right? looks like even the politicians cant think for themselves. say one thing, do another. I just laugh at this point. Its almost a giant distraction to pay attention to anything they do, perhaps only to keep track, so we can be prepared for whatever could happen and on top of how prepared we should be. The other day a bunch of us contacted our congressman pertaining to cap and trade…it did no good. didnt even get a reply. he shakes hands like a wuss anyhow. I live in a poor area too…Bart Stupak doesnt give a shit about the constituents either.

The problem is the lack of education in America! They teach kids in school bullshit and not about rights and the consititution. They institutionalize children in a prison from 5 to 18 and they are compliant to government and have no idea that that they are Americans with rights and a voice.
They are instructed to listen and learn not to question anything and that is just what the government likes! If people knew they were actually the government and that our reps and senators work for us and do not have any power apart from the people things would be very different. The government is changing this everyday by stealing more and more control and this is our problem! The global depression has been brought on only to steal more power from the people and give it to a hand full of assholes that need a bullet! The American people still have power and if they will wake up from the brainwashing and arm and organize and say this is our country the power will shift back to we the people!
The conspiracy theories are correct and they get away with this because people are conditioned from birth not to question and trust the government.

Ron Paul is a COURT JESTER, and nothing more. He said “His Friends” voted for the bill but secretly hope it doesn’t pass? WHAT???? 2) After receiving unprecedented support during the presidential primaries, refused to leave the Republican party and run as an independent even though he KNEW he was being minimized, mocked and ridiculed by his own party, and would never get the nomination as a Republicrat.
3) Ron Paul is known as “Dr. No” in the halls of congress for voting no on every spending bill. All of his sponsored patriotic bills go nowhere, and he KNOWS they aren’t going to go anywhere, consequently, he remains MR. irrelevant and the Court Jester, AKA Dr. No, year after year, term after term. He gets to keep “playing” Thomas Jefferson II while bowing to the cheers of his idiot followers who, like Dr Ron, really do believe that his Five Hundred and Thirty First sponsored bill will be the one that finally does go “SOMEWHERE”.
