LawFuel – The latest letter from Ron Paul outlines the need to preserve his libertarian, free market ideals in the face of the “DC neocons” who would love to see him defeated.

Ron Paul writes to supporters: “The DC neocons think their old dream is about to come true. They think they can defeat me in the Republican congressional primary in Texas on March 4th. And you know what? They may be right.

“My opponent, who describes himself as a traditional conservative, is a dedicated servitor of all the special interests who have given us the disaster of recent years, from unconstitutional wars to a looming recession, from huge deficits to massive new welfare programs.

“A Republican operative allied with the worst forces in DC recently said: “Give what you can [to Ron Paul's opponent]. Ron Paul is running scared — using his Presidential campaign’s donors’ money to subsidize a desperate last-minute attempt to save his Congressional seat.”

“That is a lie, of course. It is illegal to use presidential campaign donations in my congressional race. The congressional campaign has to stand on its own. But so far, we have raised only about a third of what a well-funded effort would need.

“In my 10 terms in Congress, I have not only been able to serve my constituents, and help them, for example, negotiate federal red-tape. I have also been able to defend our principles of less spending, lower taxes, no inflation, and strict adherence to the Constitution. Some people in DC laugh at the idea that I should obey my oath of office, and ask first of any proposed legislation, is it constitutional? But I know that you share my support for the vision of the framers.

“My friend Congressmen Wayne Gilchrest (R-Maryland) was just defeated in his primary election by a neocon fraud similar to the one I face. My friend Walter Jones (R-North Carolina) is under heavy pressure as well. People like our hand-picked opponents will do anything to gain and keep power. They represent everything that is wrong with DC.

“If I am defeated in the upcoming congressional primary, our ideas will be held to have been defeated as well. It will be proclaimed from the rooftops in DC that such “ridiculous and outmoded notions” as the free market, sound money, personal liberty, limited government, and a pro-American foreign policy are through.

“I am determined not to let this happen. All that you and I believe in is far too important to the future of our country, and to everyone and everything we love, to let the neocons dance on its grave.

“Please, help me stop the lies, the distortions, the pressure groups, the special interests that benefit from DC rip-offs. There is still time to run radio and tv ads, to set up phone banks, to get out the vote. But unless you help, my reelection to Congress may be in jeopardy. Please help me return to Congress to fight for the people of my district, and for the ideas that can save our country from the path to trouble we are now on.”

RON YOU NEED TO RUN AS A THIRD PARTY! NOW QUIT BEING A PUSSY AND MAN UP. YOU SAY YOUR A REPUBLICAN, BUT THERE IS NOT A REPUBLICAN IN YOUR PARTY RUNNING. JOHN THE DIP SHIT MC CAIN IS A NEO CON JUST LIKE HILLARY AND OBAMA. SO MAN UP !

    2. jon Says:

if you were an underdog in any fight and you have a card up your sleeve would you tip it sooner or suprise them just when they thought it was over

    3. TXGIRL Says:

Right now, what Ron needs is money to wage war, not insults to his manhood, which he has demonstrated time & again during his 72 years of life, unlike your mouth, leo.
So, leo, Man Up and contribuite; I did, and I’m a girl!!
To coin a phrase, ‘put your money where your mouth is’.
We all think the same thing of the neoCON-didates, but who will actually pitch in for Ron?
Quit being a pussy and contribute money or time, leo.

    4. macheryl02 Says:

So where do we sign up to contribute to Ron Paul’s race for his house seat?

    5. VXP Says:

      Hey TXGIRL,

Maybe if Ron Paul would man up instead and run for President in the general election, people would actually start giving money to him again. As of now, he has closed the door on his run for President and is all about trying his damnedest to hold on to his Congressional seat. It’s pretty weak, and I actually hope he loses his Congressional seat so that EVERYONE will wake up to how uninviting the stupid Republican party is to Ron Paul’s message.

    6. Cathy Says:

I don’t care if Ron Paul loses his seat in Congress. In fact I hope he does.

He put his Republican buddies ahead of the country and ahead of us starting WWIII. That’s about as selfish as you get. Either he is not hte man we thought or he’s being “handled” — don’t know which.

But Ron Paul should have made arrangements way back when for somebody else to run in his place, soon as he decided to make the run for President.

Instead, he’s left a lot of good people swinging in the breeze, with no plan or much hope to save our Republic or avert a world wide conflagration.

    7. TXGIRL Says:

Now I’m being censored for supporting Ron Paul…………..? I just submitted one and got a message to slow down, I can’t post so fast. Is 14 hours in between too fast?

    8. TXGIRL Says:

Ron was just at North Texas University in Denton, Tx. on Sunday, so he is still running for Prez. as well as his Congressional seat. That is a lot of running for anyone, much less a 72 yr old statesman and his family.
I could ask myself, what am I doing to help him out, since I don’t want to go to camp & be gassed?
I don’t know why the website I put in the message was deleted, but it was edited out.

    9. VXP Says:

      TXGIRL,

I got the same message that you got when I posted my post above last night and it was my first post all day long. I think it’s just a glitch. I resubmitted and it worked fine. Nobody’s censoring you.

Ron Paul said himself in an email he sent out that there is practically zero chance of a brokered convention, IE zero chance to win the Republican primaries and in that same message he said that he would not run 3rd Party. He was on CNN this morning talking about how his run in the primaries is basically just about spreading the message. He has shifted all of his energies into saving his Congressional seat. What does that tell you?

    10. TXGIRL Says:

What does it tell you if, on Sunday 2/17/08, he was in Denton speaking at a rally for him, since it’s NOT HIS DISTRICT? I am new to this. I am learning each & every day, but I know I don’t want him to lose whatever he can win, since he may be the only sane voice in DC.

    11. jay lee Says:

The guy has $6million (I can’t believe people are still giving him $) and he’s going to waste it on brochures and commercials nobody is going to remember or care about. America knows what he’s about; they don’t believe he can do what he says. The guy is finishing fourth in 3 man primaries–let’s get real.
If RP is going to do anything significant, he should consider 4 courses of action:
1)Threaten McCain that unless he’s chosen VP, that he’s going 3rd party.
2)Run as a Libertarian or Independent with Dennis Kucinich.
3)Mount a legal challenge against the IRS to collect Income Tax
4)Strap on an explosives belt and take out Bush and/or Cheney.

Screw your seat in Congress, Ron Paul. You promised hope for America. If you abandon us now, I will support your opponent and piss on your grave when you die. Winners never quit and quitters never win.

    12. Victor Says:

Ron Paul can go out in a “Blaze of Glory” by continuing to “Run for President” so he can give
a speech at the Republican National Convention. Here he can have websites set up to give out
Alex Jones Videos, Loose Change, and From Freedom to Fascism as part of his “Campaign.” The 6 Million Dollars he has could probably pay for a million or DVDs, where they could be watched by
perhaps 10 to 20 million people. This might shorten Ron Paul’s life, due to reprisals from the NWO minions, but New Investigations will then be demanded by the public on 911 and the Tax system.

    14. Hoss Says:

Ron is doing the right thing. In a war it is important to retain your holdings. Ron has to protect the seat of his power in DC.

    15. Ada Says:

Ron will always be a hero of mine. All of the complainers just dont have the fortitude required for the long hard slog that we are in for.

    16. VXP Says:

I’m starting to think Ron Paul is just a big joke and a huge diversion. Supposedly those who will not blindly follow him into the FUBAR Republican Party are just quitters, but Ron Paul is the one who has quit on us by not even trying to win the Presidential race from the very beginning. I didn’t support Ron Paul so that he would just turn around and say, “Ya know what? You do it. You run for office.” Shit, I didn’t even need to be told that. Everyone here has known that for a long time. Alex has always said that we need to get more involved in local politics and run for office. And those who say it was “just about the message” have done a piss poor job at that, and even then, running in the general election would reach many more people. What a fucking waste of time this “Ron Paul revolution” is turning out to be.

When I vote in my upcoming primary I will not waste my vote on Ron Paul. I will not vote in the GOP primary, but I will vote. The GOP deserves what it has coming for selecting the liberal-in-disguise McCain. I will not write-in Ron Paul in November as his campaign suggests. They don’t even count write-in votes, so it would be like not voting at all. How stupid is that shit? I will vote for the best 3rd party candidate running which will probably be Libertarian, like Ron Paul is supposed to be about.

    17. Jim Ponczek Says:

It’s a shame how this candidacy has been ignored and trivialized from the beginning. Ron Paul has been the only true conservative voice trying to speak above the din of the media allowed sound bites and he has been successfully shut down by the media. They decided long ago that Paul was not going to be president and have gone beyond any measure to silence his campaign. If not for the internet, I wouldn’t even know he was running and I’m a supporter!

What is it about Paul that frightens everyone so? It has to be fear because logically if they simply didn’t believe he was legitimate, they would attack him. Instead, they pretend he doesn’t exist… if they don’t speak his name, he disappears. The ‘debates’ as they are called, are a blatant ‘talk-around’. No one says anything worthwhile, no one addresses Paul, no other candidate will mentions his name for fear of his rebuttal. The press asks inane, stupid questions meant to sideline and demoralize him and yet, despite all that he draws the people in. He raises more money that the others. He does better in the straw polls that every other candidate.

Ron Paul is in this race to the end. This dis-information that he is quitting the presidential race to pay attention to his congressional seat is a lie. Go to his website and listen to the speech. You won’t hear it on any of the media outlets. He’s in for the long haul and I’m supporting him the whole way. And from the sound of the ’supporters’ I read ranting above, the end is coming . I doubt, however, they support anything other than the latest fad, and Paul is not a fad.

I’ve written to all the FOX advertisers to complain about how Paul was shut out of their debate. I’ve contacted the FCC to complain about FOX’s attempt to influence a presidential election. I’ve pledged money to his campaign. I’ve pledged to march on Washington DC..What have you done??

Eventually, the kids who are attracted to the Paul Revolution will have to understand that they have to log off the ol’ computer and GET OUT AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Bitching and moaning on the internet is only going to lose this race. Apply the pressure and power that the collective group of the Ron Paul army has against these enemies. Se how fast FOX will change their tune when big money-big name advertisers start shying away from them.

Now, to the Paul camp I say this. I too have been expecting more. As a supporter, both financially and spiritually, I would like to see Ron Paul in ‘attack mode’ more often than not. He should not allow piss-ant news commentators shut him up or shut him down, He needs to be far more aggressive when he does have national coverage. Time is growing short.
I think the idea of a huge march on DC is fabulous. I just hope it’s not too late but in the mean time he needs to be ever on the attack. It’s time to start going after McCain and showing him up for the liberal he is. Huckabee as well. The ‘nice guy’ -Ron Paul- is being run over by the front runners and liberal media. He needs to separate himself from them and get back in the show on his own terms. A huge crowd in DC might be the ticket. I wish I were a fly on the wall at his campaign HQ….

Remember, if we lose this time, we lose big time.

    18. JohnP Says:

We are (and have been) long past the point where we can use use the vote as a solution. It’s only a distraction to keep us occupied and away from the only obvious answer. Thomas Jefferson knew this, why are we so stupid over 200 years later. “We just need to get the vote out.” What a load of tripe.

    19. 4paul&freedom Says:

No one who ever supported Dr. Paul, freedom and decency, could turn around and spew this kind of acid, unless their interest was a selfish “what’s in it for me” from the beginning. Principles come at a price, and Dr. Paul clearly will not expediently sacrifice his quiet modesty or alter his character in any way to affect the outcome of the election. How loudly that speaks to those who truly understand and value integrity. His message will stand or fall on its own merits, without benefit of spin, hype, tweaking or “media savvy.” I have no doubt that if media and image manipulation and dirty tricks were somehow miraculously removed from the equation, Dr. Paul would be far, far in the lead. Besides being the best man for the job, he is also the only candidate who knows how or would ever want to run a clean race. I think of him as the tortoise and the other candidates as hares on steroids.

Dr. Paul hasn’t abandonded anyone or anything. You have abandoned him, and hope.

If Dr. Paul does not somehow win the GOP nomination, every supporter should cover every available surface in America with chalk graffiti: “Patriots write in Ron Paul,” then write in their vote, and then we should find a way for the world to see exactly how many people voted for him.

    20. gael Says:

Those who no longer support Dr. Paul, never comprehended who this Man is, and understandably so, as a real Man lives in a place few of us can relate to. God Bless you Dr. Paul. Your strenghth truly comes from God Almighty.

    21. VXP Says:

Some of you people are star-struck. I understand what Ron Paul represents. I canvassed for him and even today turned quite a few more people on to him and his message.

      A write-in vote is a wasted vote.

Ron Paul needs to run for President in the general election. Otherwise, vote for the best 3rd party candidate available and don’t throw your vote away.

The GOP is a dead-end go no where piece of shit war-mongering police state party.

    22. VXP Says:

Did I mention that Ron Paul should run for President in the general election?

      A write-in vote is a wasted vote.

      The GOP is a dead-end go-no-where piece-of-shit war-mongering police-state party. Amen.

    23. dan Says:

I can’t believe what I’m reading about Ron Paul.
He NEEDS to keep his seat for the PURPOSE of running for president. It’s a REQUIRED stepping stone needed to pursue his presidential path.
Third party?! Why would he try that again? It didn’t work for him in ‘88 and it doesn’t work for ANYONE EVER.
Many modern republicians have become corrupt, making ‘republician’ a dirty word. In this sense: RON PAUL IS NOT A REPUBLICIAN. He is a libertarian running as a republician. There is a WORLD of difference.
He is NOT part of the corrupt republician inner circle has no ‘buddies’ from it. But he’s not mistaken by running as a republician. He is a remnant of the classic, founding father republician; LONG before the party lost it’s way.
