Republican congressman Ron Paul warns against military engagement in Iran, saying ‘bombing Iran’ will cause energy prices to skyrocket.
In a speech on the House floor, Congressman Paul suggested that the US is inching toward an ‘endless struggle’ similar to the Iraq war.
“In the last several weeks, if not for months we have heard a lot of talk about the potential of Israel and/or the United States bombing Iran. Energy prices are being bid up because of this fear. It has been predicted that if bombs start dropping, that we will see energy prices double or triple,” said the Republican.
“To me it is almost like deja vu all over again. We listened to the rhetoric for years and years before we went into Iraq. We did not go in the correct manner, we did not declare war, we are there and it is an endless struggle,” he told a nearly empty House chamber.
“I cannot believe it, that we may well be on the verge of initiating the bombing of Iran,” said the war veteran.

The 72-year-old former presidential candidate then blasted what he called the ‘virtual Iran war resolution’, which is soon to be considered by the House of Representatives.
“This resolution, House Resolution 362 is a virtual war resolution. It is the declaration of tremendous sanctions, and boycotts and embargoes on the Iranians. It is very, very severe,” Paul said.
Supported by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), House Resolution 362 (and the Senate version Resolution 580), known as the ‘Iran War Resolution’ can be considered a means of imposing harsher sanctions as well as a naval blockade restricting exports to the oil-rich country.
This bill, which was introduced at an AIPAC annual policy conference, has gained 208 co-sponsors in the House and 29 in the Senate. It will likely be put to a vote after July 4.
“The fear is, they say, maybe some day, [Iran is] going to get a nuclear weapon, even though our own CIA’s National Intelligence Estimate has said that the Iranians have not been working on a nuclear weapon since 2003,” continued the 10-term congressman.
The US and Israel accuse Tehran of making efforts to produce nuclear weapons; Iran insists its nuclear program is directed at peaceful purposes.
The most recent UN nuclear watchdog report on Tehran’s nuclear program, however, has conceded that there is no link between the use of nuclear material and ‘the alleged studies’ of weaponization attributed to Iran by Western countries.
“This is unbelievable! This is closing down Iran. Where do we have this authority? Where do we get the moral authority? Where do we get the international legality for this? Where do we get the Constitutional authority for this?” asked Paul.

Please consider the following: AIPAC has offices throughout the USA, Italy, Moscow even.., Israel has been gifted a newly enlarged oil pipeline running from Iraq to Haifa, dozens of politicians have gone on the record saying that to be critical of Israel results in being ostracized, pro-Israel lobbyists, businessmen and politicians are beating the drums for bombing Iran, Israel gets billions in aide, please consider the UN members warnings to Israel to quit starving out the Palestinians, the Jewish admitted terrorist attack on the USS Liberty, etc…can we at least agree that some of the negative sentiment toward Jews is reasonable? Or, is the scene more a matter of persons who just happen to be Jewish aligning with persons who profess whatever “faith” can be exploited to manipulate the greatest number of people to destroy the greatest number of people?

Umm.. Iran has not called for the destruction of Israel. They have simply stated that if Israel attacks them they will retaliate. That makes sense. If another country attacked us, we would retaliate. Hell, take 9/11 for example (whether you think it’s an inside job or not).. We got attacked by a group of thugs not even from Afghanistan or Iraq and we retaliated by bombing and invading those countries since we decided to blame them for rogue groups inside their countries.
There is NO REASON for us to attack Iran. Well, except “in the defense of Israel” and that is exactly the game plan they have. Have Israel attack, then when Iran retaliates, the USA comes militarily.
Of course, we should all know that if Iran attack Israel first, Israel will simply use the great nuclear weapon technology we gave them, even though they are not signed on to the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and they are not part of the AIEA. In fact, considering all that, we should be attacking Israel for proliferating nukes while not signed onto the AIEA. Heck, even Iran is signed up and in compliance with all treaties and nuclear regulations. Yet we want to attack them and help Israel. Makes not one lick of sense to me.

‘roaddog’ is right. Attacking Iran would mean WWIII. The Iranians are real badasses, like this country used to be. Threatening them with nukes just makes them want to retaliate harder. They understand that you can’t back down to a bully, or you’ll just be bullied forever, that if someone tries to kill you all you can do is fight back with everything you’ve got. And they’ve got a lot. If you forget the nukes, Iran versus the U.S. in the Gulf leads to massive U.S. casualties, severed U.S. supply lines, overland retreat by U.S. forces, Iran’s, Iraq’s, Saudi Arabia’s, Kuwaits and other Gulf Nations having their oil infrastructures bombed. It means the Taliban and the Iraqi resistance getting all the high quality anti-tank and anti-helicopter missiles and mines they want. It means Iran’s infrastructure bombed back to the Stone Age too, but at the price of a U.S. rout from the Middle East, the destabilization of U.S. friendly regimes (Saudi Arabia, very likely), and the possibility of more imminent Mid East Wars (Israel vs. Syria & Hezbollah & Hamas & whatever’s left of Iran, for example, Saudi rebels vs. pro-Western proxies, for another, and many possible civil wars)
Everyone likes to talk about how the U.S. has nukes, but in practice, nuking Iran would mean radioactive clouds blowing over Russia, Turkey, India, or China, depending on which way the wind was blowing. Possibly all of them could get some radiation! Radioactive clouds tend to radicalize populations against the creators of the clouds, and could be considered an act of war by their governments. Russia actually has nukes and could threaten nuclear war to protect Iran, just for the fun of some old-fashioned brinkmanship, and the pleasure of watching U.S. forces take it on the chin from a dedicated regular army.

What about the countless deaths of completely innocent people that bombing of Iran would cause, as well as the additional nuclear fallout that it would cause to circle the globe, on top of the radiation from depleted uranium that is already circling the globe and skyrocketing cancer rates? Why didn’t he bring that into the equation? Does he even care about those innocent people? If indeed he does, he should have made that clear. How could he possibly leave out such an important point? And he’s a medical doctor to boot. But he appears to care more about energy prices than he does about human beings.
As far as I’m concerned, this is a lame speech, and Dr. Paul does not engender trust with putting concern for the price of gasoline ahead of human lives. He sounds like an idiot, for God’s sake. Yah, perhaps that’s true, “LiberalAlways”, if True Liberals were in control of the Democratic Party; but they aren’t, and with the NeoLIB-CONS (aka all NeoNaziCONS) in control, all we’re going to see is things getting worse and worse, as the Roman Catholic hierarchy sets up another, and this time far worse, and final, inquisition. All those who don’t TRULY have (the non-Catholic, non-counterfeit) God, are screwed. Yes, the Catholic Church will again mass-murder non-Catholics, but those who truly have the One and Only True God will die for the Truth and be saved anyway.
Liberals, including True Liberals, (”)Conservatives(”), NeoNaziCONS, etc., will ALL be lost and completely destroyed if they don’t TRULY have God through Jesus the Christ, the ONLY right Way. Right now, I’d give anything except my soul for the True Liberals to be in control and “save the day”; but, with most people being taken over by evil because the “restraing power of the Holy Spirit” (that kept Satan at bay for awhile) being removed for a short time, that is not going to happen, much as I wish it were; as we are are witnessing and experiencing firsthand right now.
What we need right now is God’s Help, and that is our ONLY Hope, at least on an individual basis. The worst has got to happen before things can get better, which they WILL, just not the way most people think and/or want. Depending upon human beings to save the day is completely futile, especially now. We are in the VERY end, and the “wheat and the tares” are being separated. In other words, those who are “chosen”, and those who are only “called”, are being determined; and the chosen are going to be a very small minority, while most people are going to be the tares.
The tares are the chaff which is going to be burned up, people who choose their own way(s) and/or the way(s) of the Roman Catholic Church, aka “the Beast”, and/or otherwise sell their souls to the devil for very short-lived, so-called “salvation” and “protection” now (in other words, to try and keep themselves from being killed now, or very soon). Those who gain the continuation of their lives for now, will lose them in the end by being totally destroyed; and those who “lose” their lives before the final end by not selling their souls to evil, will gain Eternal Life, the Life of God.
There is absolutely no middle ground, no “gray area”, no halfway route, no partway compromise with evil to supposedly be able to secure protection and/or salvation later. ALL those who make ANY compromises with evil whatsoever, will be lost forever and destroyed for good. We are about to have to make monumental decisions that will determine whether we are “wheat” or “tares”. We are about to have to decide between the Mark of the Beast or the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, between extremely short-live, so-called “life”, or death for refusing the Mark, and long-lived Eternal Life.
Which will you choose? You have to prepare to decide NOW, because it is about to happen. There is no putting it off. There is no depending upon humankind to save you. They are not going to ride in on a white horse and save the day. Oh, yes, there may be one more extremely short-lived “false period of prosperity” where it appears like they have saved the day; but the Catholic NeoNaziCONS are not going to go away, and they are going to very quickly retake the reigns of earthly, evil power, if they ever really lose them, and bring about the final evil events that have to occur.
Humankind, without God, is ultimately powerless, except for the outward, extremely limited trappings of so-called “power”, power ruled over by evil, power often in the guise of “good”, “liberalism”, “conservatism”, “Democracy”, “Republicanism”, etc. The evil are in their final, ultimate ascendency right now, and they are going to be allowed to appear to win the day. They are going to COMPLETELY take over and require “pain-of-death” choices. Either you are going to “have to” sell your soul to the devil, or die. Either you are going to choose evil or Righteousness.
But the fleshly death, if we experience it having the True, Full and Complete mind-transformation of God, will only be a very temporary experience. So “sell your soul” ONLY to God; and do it NOW, because there is NO MORE time to waste. Putting it off will only jeopardize our souls. “Death-bed” transformations rarely ever really occur; for, by then, it is usually far too late. Hollywood would have us believe just about everyone, including evil people, go to heaven; but it is a HUGE lie that does NOT happen AT ALL. TODAY, not tomorrow, is the time to decide between Life or eternal death.
