“In the short run what’s happening is there’s a wall of liquidity, not just in the U.S., but around the world, that is chasing assets,” he told CNBC.

1). The Markets have already crashed! We’re past the 1929 crash, but it’s not so obvious because they pumped the markets full of fake money. The system is based on a farce, a lie, and deception of minds.
2). In the Coinage Act of 1792, Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson helped created the standard and stable function of money. They attached the definition of the dollar to the solid principles of mathematics measured in silver.
The dollar was defined as: 371.25 grains of Silver, nothing more, nothing less. Then to solidify this against the gold they created a mint silver to gold ratio of 15:1. All this was done to keep our financial system stable, dependable, and honest.
So what happened to our real money? We accept paper dollars now?? Well we wouldn’t take a wooden nickel!, so why in the world did we accept paper dollars?
3). When the system crashes though death of dollar, possibly sometime in 2010, the silver to gold ratio may go back to 15:1, as opposed to 65:1 as it is now. So whoever was smart enough to buy silver may reap as much as $600/ounce. Whereas those who bought gold may loose their money, as Gold will go back to it’s true (face) value of $20/ounce, and silver to $1/ounce. Keep in mind that the big boys and banks with the big money want gold-not silver.
Silver hit $50/ounce in 1980 only becasue the Hunt brothers cornered the market and manipulated the price.
Gold will and has always been in higher demand than silver.

Don’t forget that demand is artificially manipulated for Gold from the numbers you’re looking at. The gold and silver spot are based off of the inflationary fiat currency, this is the first error in your reasoning, to measure gold value by dollars, of course it seems like gold is higher, the bankers are manipulating the price of Gold to rob you of your money through your gold purchase. Gold is worth $20 per ounce as it states on the face of pre 1933 coins.
There is a reason even customs border agents go by the face value of your gold for reporting purposes! Ask them yourself! Cause that’s the true inflation-less value, That’s what officially counts!
Dollar is Silver, hence we have “SILVER DOLLARS”, there was a silver to gold ratio created for a reason as well, and that’s to avoid manipulation that we see today. How can Gold always be in more demand than silver, when most electronic components depend on silver (circuit boards, batteries, medical equipment, solar cells, etc). And as far as I can see technology is progressing and silver is being used up and not recycled anywhere near how much gold is, so silver reserves are much lower than Gold. They want gold all right. Who is to say they won’t make gold not legal to own again at a high point. The system is working for confiscation any way. That is what happens when the gov is backed into a place that higher taxes and loans will not work. See all the rich people out there. I think many of them at some point in time will see this coming and leave the USA. Many are buying second homes any way. The dollar decline is not the only problem. Every one has forgotten the court cases from the S & Ls of the 1987-92 period. The first case is expected to come up in 2012. However it plays out these comments are interesting to look at.

The truth is that silver is undervalued major big time as compared to gold. The bad news is that it is probably too late to purchase either gold or silver in today’s economy. Its all about availability; there isn’t any available except at spot + such a heafty premium that it isn’t worth buying without being willing to take some major risks. I started buying years ago when silver was in the $5 – $6 per ounce price range.
Folks who only have 1 oz. gold coins as their minimum denomination are going to be screwed in a major way in a situation where the US fiat (paper) currency truely looses all value and the world as we know it comes to a screeching halt. Who is going to be willing or able to make change for you?? I’m not, even if I could!!!!! You want the 1 loaf of bread that I have left to sell @ 1/10th ounce of gold; either give me a 1/10th oz. gold piece or give me your 1 oz. gold coin and forget your change!
All 1964 and earlier silver dimes, quarters, half dollars and dollars are 90% silver. If you can get your hands on ‘trash’ (badly worn) 1965 and earlier US silver coins you are going to pay
$11.00 + per dollar. You can also try getting yourself a set of decent spring-scale and start hitting the garage/yard sales. You can occasionally find single pieces of sterling silver flatware (knives and forks) for sale there. If they don’t know what they have, you may get a deal. Be careful of knives because only the handles are sterling, not the blades, usually stainless steel. Sterling silver is also 90% pure silver.
Whatever you do; don’t buy any sort of silver or gold certificates. Buy and hold only physical silver or gold. These will be worthless as anything but ‘bum-wipe’ when TSHTF. You would be better off buying whatever it is that you think you might be wanting/needing to buy with the gold or sivler after the economy comes crashing down.

History does not “repeat itself”.
Saying history repeats itself makes “history” seem like it is some entity that has a will and mind of its own. Indeed, the word “itself” contains the word “self”, which strongly implies “selfhood” or sentience. History is not a “self”, it is an inamiate thing, dumb as arock. It is nothing but a record of deeds done in the past, and the results of those deeds.
No, what is REALLY happening is that WE keep making the same mistakes over and over again, by refusing to learn from the record of our past mistakes, and the results of those mistakes. It is US who are doing the repeating, not history. Repetition is an action. A book is incapable of choosing to take action, or not, but we are.

I have a feeling that when the crash does happen, that Gold and Silver coins for buying will be deemed illegal by the elites, and sending out blackwater type goons ,military and cops to confiscate and or arrest people trying to use them, now this is just my theory , because they’ll most likely have their new currency plan set to go in only after they’ve let many of us riot, loot, starve and die off, for no telling how many months after the day they drop the stock market like 1929.
Most likely their new currency plan won’t be paper, but some kind of plastic debit card where they can track and trace EVERY purchase. Things are going to look so bad after this crash, that life will look NOTHING like it did or be like it was before the crash. I don’t foresee a slow fall of the economy, I think it will come all in one day just like 1929, but people aren’t as tough or knowledgeable as they were back in those days when it comes to self reliance. Too many people are dependent on help from Govt. agencies. At least put back one year supply of food, the first year will be the worst, especially the first 6 months after the crash,
Be in a position where you can sit tight and not have to ask anyone for anything for at least 6 months , preferably a year. I stocked me a whole year supply of food 3 yrs ago, when I could afford it. Get into reloading NOW, money is an issue I know, you can reload with a device called a LEE HAND PRESS KIT for less than $40.

Those who argue against a more proactive reduction in risk and size of TBTF institutions will, as always, revert to an argument that strikes a natural chord in every American’s heart: ‘Doing so would create an unleveled international playing field for our institutions relative to their international competitors.’ Level playing fields are a worthy goal, but this is not a relevant argument. Instead, this tired bromide must be resoundingly dismissed on several counts:
* Those countries with the largest banks as a percentage of GDP (Iceland, Ireland, Switzerland) demonstrated that a concentration of banking power can cause significant sovereign risk and tilt global economic playing fields away from that country.
* The likely breakups of ING, Lloyds and KBC suggest that it is we who seek to support an unlevel playing field where we subsidize our TBTF banks while other nations recognize the policy failures of moral hazard. If we continue down this path we will likely be at risk of violating international fair trade regimes.
* When the “unlevel playing field” argument is cited, keep in mind this reasoning supports the disadvantaging of 8000+ community banks relative to our largest banks, all in the name of protecting big banks from government- subsidized international competition.
* There is no longer any evidence that, beyond a cost of capital advantage that comes with implied government support, there are sustainable and tangible economies of scale arising from being the largest. The financial supermarket concept has been proven a failure. The only ones who benefit are the high-level executives.
* We must demand that our legislators no longer allow unelected officials at the independent Federal Reserve to sign international accords created by the TBTF banks through supra-national bodies like the Basel Committee.
* Are we to believe that if we did not have such large and globally dominant firms, US borrowers might be paying more that the 29% interest that several of the TBTF firms are now charging on their card accounts? Perhaps we should think about what advantage our population has gained as a result of our financial institutions being such a large part of our economy or being globally dominant.
* Since when did we accept a national strategy of following rather than leading? When we do what is right, others follow. As example, consider the bank secrecy havens — they made money for a bit. Now, even the Swiss and the Cayman authorities are coming around to our view.
* We are already at a disadvantage given that the largest foreign banks operate in the US without any tier one capital requirement and yet most large, foreign banks have not built a bricks and mortar presence here. Nobody screams about their undercapitalization nor has that undercapitalization caused deposits to migrate to foreign banks.

totally agree with you, under the new “credit card reform bill” that Obama just pushed threw Fed 2009, and goes into LAW this coming Feb 2010, allow a lot of there tactics which we consider illegal and immoral, now are back by law, that why so many people with good credit are being targeted by the credit card companies, but what worse it how there are over 90 different ways to negatively affect your credit score and only 8 things you can do to affect it positively, but we all should realize we can still make the system work for us instead of against us, if we arm our self with education and knowledge.

I don’t know to much about money and how it works but it seems to me that if all these important people are telling this tale then we may as well listen to them, see which way the wind is gonna blow.
I do know for certain that the depression has been going on here for a few months and it is not pretty. Very few now here have clothing that doesn’t have holes in them and thank goodness we can knit and crochet winter sweaters and hats. We can dye the sheep wool using different roots and barks from the trees to make colors we want. Its not that hard if your used to it. Electric has been shut off here for most people in this area because they put the prices so high that they can’t afford to pay their bills now. There are no jobs here. All gone now overseas and morale is running low but we can burn wood in our stoves to heat and cook on and eat wild game. I gathered this summer wild sweet taters in the forest and many other items to cook with, as well as our garden and all. It seems like it is getting to be survival now for all of us in different regions across this nation. Stick together in your area, whether in the mountains or not.

Squirrel for Supper-LOVE YOUR HANDLE!!! I wish I knew people like yourself. I started a garden over the Summer. My very first time. I was soooooooooooo PROUD OF MYSELF. I can’t imagine killing an animal though. I guess if you’re hungry enough you will. Don’t worry, the NWO is already starting to show their true colors, and it’s just a matter of time. Please make sure that you and your family have warm clothes and cold weather sleeping bags for when they shut off your electric or you can’t afford to buy home heating oil. That’s one of the reasons why we live in the South; I can live with the heat but the cold will kill you. Good luck to you and your family.
