Sarah Palin Talks Lightly About Nuclear War

Sarah Palin is now officially the poster child for the insanity of the neocons. Interviewed by ABC News, the vice presidential candidate said war with Russia is a possibility. “We have to keep our eyes on Russia, under the leadership there,” she averred. “I mean, that is the agreement when you are a NATO ally. If another country is attacked, you’re going to be expected to be called upon and help…. For Russia to have exerted such pressure in terms of invading a smaller, democratic country, unprovoked, is unacceptable.”
Palin is wrong on all counts. First, Georgia is not a member of NATO and is not likely to become so, mostly because the Europeans are more sane than the American neocons, primarily because they live next door to Russia. Second, Russia did not invade Georgia, Russia defended South Ossetia from an attack launched by Georgia. In its defensive action, Russia took out Georgia’s military capacity and that necessitated going into Georgia proper. Third, Georgia is not a democracy as should be apparent when one looks at Saakashvili’s reaction to opposition protesters last year — he responded with tear gas, water cannons, rubber bullets, and a “state of emergency,” that is to say martial law. Of course, in Bushzarro world, a government installed by NED and Soros is considered a democracy — and black is white and up is down.

Cheney trekked to Ukraine last week to tell Yushchenko and his color revolution installed gang that the U.S. will support their effort to get into NATO, never mind this is unpopular in the country. “It is obvious that so far the majority of people in Ukraine is opposed to NATO membership and wants it to remain neutral,” reports Ilya Kramnik for RIA Novosti. “In the complicated domestic situation, forced entry into NATO may split the country and some of its regions may secede. Such an outcome is not likely to please either Kiev or Brussels, so there are no grounds to expect Ukraine’s fast NATO entry.” Naturally, the wishes of the people will not be allowed to stand in the way of the neocons and their brazen and clumsy attempts to provoke Russia.
All this NATO business increases the prospect of war between the United States and Russia, as Palin admitted. “The problem with NATO expansion is simply this: each expansion calls into question NATO’s willingness to go to war. Would the US and Europe and (importantly) Turkey really declare war with Russia over Georgia or one of the Baltic States? Or even the Ukraine?” notes Ian Welsh.
NATO expansion threatens the equilibrium of mutually assured destruction. MAD [Mutually Assured Destruction] requires that both sides have clear and transparent knowledge of what the other side will and won’t escalate over. In the Cold War, both sides knew that an attack on a NATO or Warsaw Pact member by the other side would lead to general war, and understood that that general war could easily escalate to nuclear confrontation, probably started by whoever thought they were losing.
For Palin, or rather her neocon handlers, this is not a big deal. If you think the prospect of a nuclear war will make the neocons back off, think again. It’s not simply hubris or mental illness — the neocons want war, and the bigger the better, because it will make possible the realization of their demented, crypto-fascist philosophy based on the dictatorial musings of the Nazi crown jurist Carl Schmitt. Total war, even nuclear war, will promote their Hobbesian view of the world where an absolute decider-commander demands absolute submission. Of course, a little radiation does not bother the neocons, as they have bunks reserved in the fallout shelter.
As Paul Craig Roberts notes, the neocons are determined to have a war with Russia. “The Committee on the Present Danger regarded the neocons as crazy people who would get America into a nuclear war with the Soviet Union. The neocons hated President Reagan, because he ended the cold war with diplomacy, when they desired a military victory over the Soviet Union,” writes Roberts.
The Republicans will get us into more wars. Indeed, they live for war. McCain is preaching war for 100 years. For these warmongers, it is like cheering for your home team. Win at all costs. They get a vicarious pleasure out of war. If the US has to tell lies in order to attack countries, what’s wrong with that? “If we don’t kill them over there, they will kill us over here.”
It’s funny, in a perverse sort of way, that the corporate media went around and around about Barack Obama’s lipstick on a pig comment. In fact, the lipstick is on Mars, the god of war in Roman mythology. Our neocon novi homines want their “dictator in perpetuity,” their Julius Caesar, to lead them into battle against Russia and China. McCain is a sorry dictator perpetuo, but it really does not matter who sits atop the throne because the neocons call the shots — and the final shot will come screaming in on a Russian SS-25 with a thermonuclear payload.
Palin may not realize what she is saying when she talks about NATO and confronting Russia. But then she really does not need to because she is little more than a cigar store Indian with talking points in hand composed by a coterie of madmen.
She too has a reserved spot in the bunker.

Where is the safest place to hide in the U.S. during a Nuclear War? That is, for people like me that don’t have a spot reserved in the bunker.

The question on the Bush Doctrine was a setup. She could be well aware of the preemptive strike mindset without identifying it as the Bush doctrine. Beside the Democrats in Congress have facilitated this every step of the way.
And also, Obama has zero experience, but he is the bankers’ candidate. When he was introduced earlier this decade and put in as Senator, he was nobody. But through the strings pulled by the real owners of the country, he suddenly has been allowed to shake hands with world leaders giving him the aura of being worldly and eloquent. When caught of guard unscripted, however, his eloquence is gone.
The more they bash and set this woman up, the more I like her. Also, McCain is not a Bush. The Bushes have served the Rockefeller Robber Barons for a century now. McCain comes from the military community and is more of an outsider. In the US military there is a growing opposition to the elite Nazis in control. Who knows, with an aging McCain, maybe the McCain ticket will do the right thing and turn on their masters and fight for the people? I know Obama wont. The Robber Baron establishment owns him. The establishment press owned by the corporate elite in Europe, Canada, USA endorsing him, is a good reason to vote against him.
Personally I would vote constitution party as neither democrats nor Republicans will rescind the executive power usurpations by the executive branch and patriot act, military commission act destroying the constitution.

I woke up shocked and awed to the news of Palin’s comments about Russia. It makes me extremely nervous to imagine that the neo-cons will continue their role in history come November. We are so screwed and I feel so pwerless in the face of it all. It tears my insides out. Every moment gets exponencially worse on all levels as the financial system crashes, the economy crumbles, geo ploitical tensions mount all over the globe and so on.
We need to expose this facsist war agenda for what it is ass I know I have been doing for the past decade plus. No respite for the weary.

I don’t know much about “light” nuclear war..But I expect they shoul go over to Hiroshima and Nagasaki and interview a few survivors on the MSM.. the ones who did more than talk..They actually witnessed nuclear war the only two times it has been deployed…
Everyone likes to talk about it..but experiencing it is another deal..

The thing I rest assured on..is if the GVT contracted these bunkers to be built with the standard GVT oversight…. Perhaps diving in a septic tank would be safer.

WOW!! Too much to cover here……I’ll try to be brief. Palin is an IDIOT!! Only a FOOL would talk so casually of a war with Russia. This FOOL Palin knows NOTHING! One only has to look at the horrible sacrifices made by Soviet CIVILIANS, whose casualties numbered in the millions in WWII, to know that any war with Russia would be a disaster. Add in the terrible casualties of the Red Armies fighting the Germans, and you get up to some pretty staggering number of millions of dead people. Now, to think that a war with Russia would be something desirable (in the defense of the KHAZARS of Georgia) is pure insanity. It appears that the NeoCons are unhappy with the Russians because the Russians will not bow down to the EVIL NeoCons (witness Georgia).
Well, starting about 1795, the Russians have had PLENTY of experience with the NeoCon Khazars.
As strange as it sounds, will RUSSIA be the nation that saves us all from complete domination by the NeoCons?????

Kurt Nimmo is putting too much importance into the powers of the White House.
Neither Sarah Palin nor anyone in the White House have the final word on who becomes a NATO member. The existing NATO members get to decide.
Besides, NATO is a defense treaty. Its mandate is only to fend off an attacker. NATO members are not obligated to get involved in offensive wars.

Sarah Palin is an undereducated, overhyped phony and moron that only some Americans could adore. The Down’s Syndrome baby “Track” is not hers and was born to her repeatedly pregnant daughter Bristol at age 16. The hospital where she allegedly gave birth has no online record of Sarah Palin giving birth to any baby. Her older son, “Track” was the town drug fiend who was completely hooked on Oxycontin for over 2 years, was very into Cocaine and tons of alcohol. She has put a nice lipstick covered face on these issues and of course the MSM will not bring them up. “Track” is in the military because of the Palin family could not control him and he finished his last year of high school in Minnesota after being tied in with massive amounts of malicious vandalism in Alaska. Do some research, there is nothing here that cannot be verified.
I never buy into the false left right paradigm, however, this side of the paradigm deserves some mention only to prove how out of control she is as a war hawk and liar.

So on one side you have Obama and Biden who says impeach Bush if he unilaterally attacks Iran, there is no Congressional authority to attack, protect government whistle blowers who expose government corruption, get rid of unconstitutional executive orders like NDPD-51 which to this day Bush can use to take over the government, Obama spoke out against the Iraq war in 2003, etc…
On the other side you have McCain, who says stay in Iraq 100 years if need be, votes with Bush 95% of the time, jokes about bombing Iran, with Palin who is perplexed about what the Bush Doctrine means when it is the single most important national security policy post-911 and supported by McCain, and she says go to war with Russia to defend Georgia.
Seems to me there is a difference between these particular “NWO puppets.” The first group is at least offering something for the “truth” movement. While the second is a repackaging of Bush with lipstick.

The article doesn’t “defend Russia’s actions”, it just points out the facts. Russia wasn’t in the wrong in this case, they defended S.O. against Georgia’s vicious attack. That doesn’t make Russia the good guys or superheroes cuz they got their problems, however in the case of the Georgian Attack, Russia did nothing wrong. It’s just as if Tijuana decided to break off from Mexico (albeit probably won’t ever happen, but bare with me), and Mexico launched an attack on them, we would most likely defend TJ because (1) they have no army to defend themselves and (2) they are on our doorstep…

The Politicians here in Australia vote themselves a pay rise which is a minimum of $20000 a year and the average worker in the private sector working for a company is considered lucky if their pay rise amounts to $5000 a year and then again the Government gets their share from that $ amount in taxes.
The part which makes me sick is that this Idiotic Politicians will actually get a Pension at the end and yet they do NOT deserve ANYTHING as they do NOT serve the Nation in fact they are a Liability and work against the hardworking Citizen.
The Biggest Australian shit politicians are John Howard & Peter Costello – they have sold Australia and enslaved the Nation – they are war criminals and should be placed in concentration camps – enslave them instead.

This country will continue to go downhill, regardless of who gets elected. I’m a big fan of Ron Paul and I really like Bob Barr. The problem is, neither will be elected President and even if they were, we’d need 100’s more just like them to run Congress or they couldn’t get anything done. All of that is very unlikely to happen. I’m looking out for my own family by living in the country, learning all I can about living off the land and stocking up on the things I’ll need to survive. Don’t look for the government or some man to save you, it’s not gonna happen.

If the latter is so, then am I wrong to think that Barack Obama has been the hand picked vice presidential candidate for the Democratic party? It seems that Ms. Palin is in the news as much as Obama and it seems that the two of them are going at each other’s throats, not McCain and Obama, or Palin and Biden. Something is very wrong with that picture that as of yet not even Alex Jones has made mention of. Sure he has mentioned that the whole thing is a facade overshadowing some of the more important issues, but no one as of yet has mentioned how odd it is that everything nowadays is Palin/Obama, i.e. vice presidential nominee vs. presidential nominee. How dumbed down is the American public not to question why are those two being compared and put on the hot seats of “debates” having virtually nothing to do with each other as it is being presented? Also, where has John McCain been since Sarah Palin has been on the scene as well as Joe Biden? The reasons why are obvious, but as usual, the logic by such people is not there and we, the people, accept it as being equal when in fact it is like arguing which will be better Delicious Apples or crap apples or maybe even oranges when they are going to be used for different purposes such as one going for the presidency and the other going for the vice presidency..

I love the way you guys talk about these people…the nicknames you give them is hilarious. However, all you people are doing is talking. I was on a website yesterday that had some very interesting thoughts about the 9/11 truth movement and the people leading it such as: alex jones, professor steven jones, and Siverstein’s famous “pull it” line, just to name a few.
What they brought out was the fact that these people are planted shills to keep the movement distracted from the REAL truth about 911; special weapons like: directed energy and tesla. They pointed out that Steven Jones is a n.w.o. shill planted to keep part of the truth movement focus on thermate being used at the world trade center. And, while this is true, it was only a small piece of a 2,000 piece puzzle.
After going through all the evidence they had and their theories, i have to honestly say that the twin towers didn’t just collapse….they turned to dust. There’s no way thermate could turn concrete into dust and that’s exactly what happened on 911….those towers and everything in them went POOF!!! How is that possible and what do they have that could do that?
Directed energy beams were used to make those buildings and EVERYTHING in them to almost disappear so stop saying they “collapsed” because they didn’t, they turned to dust right before our very eyes.
Basically, what i am trying to say is there are wolves in sheeps clothing in the 911 truth movement. Trust NO ONE! Especially those with public influence who say they are with the movement. Yeah they are, but only to distract. No matter what it appears they may be doing or saying for the movement, don’t believe the hype. Don’t get caught up in the wow of who they are. Stay alert!
It seems “the man” has many, many players in this game and in his pocket so it would be advisable to get to know your neighbor cuz that is the ONLY way we are going to stay alive. Stick with people you KNOW!!! Get to know the people in your neighborhood. Pay attention to detail and keep your eyes and ears open. Stop tattletaling on everyone and begin loving them like you love yourself (and we know how much that is), it may be the only chance of surviving the inevitable.

Misinformed?? If you think that the potential vice president of the United States just simply doesn’t know the facts of what went down with Georgia/Russia you might as well be casting your vote for her. And she is much better than Obama/Biden?? Come on. She claims that God’s will is to put a pipeline in Alaska and to fight against Iraq! First of all, I’m sorry, I was not trying to be rude in what I wrote. It is just incredibly frustrating to see politician after politician (Bush…McCain…Palin…..) sweep up all the “evangelical” votes by throwing God’s name out there. It is EVIL. I guess it is not anymore evil that politics in general, but I hate seeing family and friends believing that God’s will for us to be fighting in wars and constructing pipelines…
As for the whole Palin/Paul 2012 thing, I think you just may have a crush on this woman..

I agree with Michael that we have to reach out to her. Hey, I voted for Bush, Inc. ALL FOUR TIMES! I supported the war in Iraq. I used to hate you people. Only two yrs. ago, I was fawning all over Ann Coulter at a book signing. And now I’m an Infowarrior! I’ll tell you what really did it for me-watching the coverage of Bush being told about the attacks and him just sitting there with a stupid look on his face. After seeing that, it kept haunting me, so I started doing research.
Whether Palin is Pres/VP material, though, I have my doubts. I think she should get out of politics, raise her family and write books/do the lecture thing, or something. Or maybe become an “over 40″ model.

I can’t believe a woman is talking like that. Women are supposed to be of peace and harmony, always against fighting whether it’s their husband getting into a fist fight or their country into a war. Women are always the ones who suffer the most from war by losing their sons, husbands and potential husbands, and by getting raped when their country is invaded. I got no problem with women in politics, but there is something definitely not right about this woman talking like that. Is she really that obsessed with the book of Revelation and believes it’s time to bring on the end times so that Jesus will return? Is she a mindless puppet who reads whatever script she is given? Of course her views are meaningless–Republicans know how to pump up the party where it is most important, how to inspire key constituents to take to the polls, even if the campaign promises are all lies–Remember Bush’s 2004 election promise to institute a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage? How quickly was that taken off the priority list once he took office? What he managed to do (thanks to Karl Rovea) was mobilize the socially conservative groups in swing states, thus tipping the election in his favor. Nevermind that the 2000 election was a farce. I’m sorry but she is clearly responding to a question asking whether or not she WOULD support NATO membership for Georgia so that’s extremely misleading, the implication being that she thinks Georgia is already a NATO member state.
“Second, Russia did not invade Georgia, Russia defended South Ossetia from an attack launched by Georgia. In its defensive action, Russia took out Georgia’s military capacity and that necessitated going into Georgia proper.”
Russia DID invade Georgia; it sent a military force into the country (albeit after having had several peacekeepers and ethnic russians in South Ossetia murdered – clearly constituting provocation). If the USA struck parts of Iran like Russia struck parts of Georgia I think we would all be calling it in an invasion; similarly the incursions made by the U.S. military into Pakistan should be considered an invasion; if you send your army or part of your army into another country to conduct military operations that is an invasion.
Palin is clearly deluded; her comments about Russia’s attack being unprovoked are absurd; the fact that she is running for one of the most powerful offices in the world is frightening. Russia did not strike the first blow in this conflict but I believe it has targeted civillians as a means of reprisal and this fact should not be glossed over.
I am totally against this policy of using puppet regimes in small, dependant nations to provoke your real enemies as the USA has clearly done with the conflict in South Ossetia but the Russians are no saints and have a long track record of brutal military operations targeting civillians, just ask anyone in Grozny.

As a Christian I am shocked as to what Mrs. Palin said in that interview. I agree that she is being used by her party to get the votes of the majority of evangelical Christians. I do not doubt her honest intentions to serve the people, but she also has been brainwashed into believing the fake reality which has been presented by the mainstream media in the west for decades – thus she is just another victim of mind control. Of course, maintaining her current views makes her a dangerous person. But there is hope. If all those among us who trust in Jesus Christ start praying that her eyes be opened to the truth, who knows what might come out of it in case she becomes vice-president.
