The Democratic chairman of the Senate Finance Committee unveiled a health-care reform plan Wednesday that incorporates many of the provisions of President-elect Barack Obama’s plan, but goes one step further — it would require everyone to eventually buy insurance coverage.
Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) proposes that medical insurance cover pre-existing conditions, as Obama’s plan does, and would set up an insurance exchange to help people and businesses find insurance if they need — but don’t have — coverage.
“Americans are acutely aware of problems in the country’s health care system and they are ready for change,” Baucus said at a Capitol Hill news conference announcing his “Call to Action: Health Care Reform 2009” proposal.

It’s time for free health care for all.
I used to be against it. It’s socialism.
But if these scumf**ks that run our government can provide 800 BILLION to their banker buddies, they can pay for every American’s health care.
November 13th, 2008 at 3:22 pm
“”We’ve fixed Wall Street, we’ve fixed the housing market, fixed taxes — everything else but health care — and if we don’t fix that, we will have more economic troubles,” Baucus said.” –> that says it all.
November 13th, 2008 at 3:48 pm
People should not be forced to buy health insurance.
November 13th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
Remember John Edwards wanting to make it so everybody HAS TO _GO_ to a doctor so and so many
times a year? This is not just about you having to pay extra money for dubious to outright malicious
health”care”, it’s about getting you even more under one of the basic pillars of population control.
YOU will be made to see “doctors” regularly, “doctors” to examine your medical health, “doctors” to
check your boobs and behinds for cancer (or the lack of)… AND THEY WILL HAVE THE POWER TO
PRESRIBE AND _PROSCRIBE_, because there will be MANDATORY TREATMENT as well.
Got your mail from the DHS that you’re due to see the “doctor”? You will return with a wad of prescriptions
in your hands and if you’ve been watching TV commercials (I would hope you’ve already thrown your
TV away)… it’ll be the whole 9 yards. Preventative Lipitor which is an anti blood clot agent with
a Statin drug that prevents cells from synthesizing PROTECTIVE fatty cholesterols you NEED to
protect the inner walls of your veins and arteries, Xanax because you were a little anxious after he
xrayed you six times, Cymbalta because you weren’t smiling when you came in… I could go on but
you get the idea.. it’s a death cocktail of pharma population control drugs you will be holding in your
hands when you leave… _AND_ YOU WILL BE FORCED TO TAKE THESE MEDICATIONS. At first it will
be that you lose insurance coverage if you don’t but in the end there will be compliance testing. Just
like drug tests are given today you will find yourself confronted with an unannounced compliance test
where they will take urine and blood to make sure all those wonderful substances are there… and
if they can’t find them you will be taken to a psychiatric clinic where they will make sure you’re getting
all the good stuff AND of course the obligatory psychiatric drugging that will make sure you stay
down for good. Oh and of course there are still the vaccinations, those one-off shots that really reduce
your health to contend with. I almost forgot about those.
So of course, I bring bad news so the best thing to do is call me a kook and I’ll go away eventually.
Sure, no problem, enjoy your mandatory cancer prevention radiation treatments!

Screw them. I’m still looking for a job and can barely meet our necessities. We have no medical insurance at all and sure as hell can’t afford it right now. IMPEACH them all! S.O.B.s.
November 13th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
I’m for health care also, but if they just gave 800bil to their banker buddies, what do you think their health care CEO buddies and hospital CEO buddies will get? And left standing in line for what care is available will be the rest of us. When someone comes out with a well thought out plan, including the who, what, when, where, why, and how (including the good & bad, not the “in the best world…..”) I’ll jump on board. That article had a whole lot of “let’s just spend the $$ and break things; we’ll figure out how it works later but we have to spend the $$ now”.
November 13th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
El Technico, I know. Also, if they can afford to pay $1B a day on the Iraq war, they can afford to provide us with health care. Furthermore, with everyone filing bankrupcy after a major medical catastrophe, we may as well have free health care.
November 13th, 2008 at 4:16 pm
the people will get 2 cents on the dollar-maybe 8 to 12 cents-the rest is burried in beuracacy-and of coarse-DEEP POCKETS
November 13th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
Screw them, I am not buying sh*t from them. They can kiss my a**. I am not switching over my health plan to these bast*rds. They are not getting one red cent from me. No New World Order. Stand up America, before it is too late.
November 13th, 2008 at 4:48 pm
We don’t have health insurance. It’s not because we can’t afford a monthly premium, it is simply because they want too much money for what we have ever used in medical costs. We simply “bank” what would be our monthly premium. So far, we have used $300.00 this “year” from that account. How do they justify a $300.00+ per “month” premium for people who don’t go to the doctor or hospital unless it is absolutely needed? Our account keeps building, and will be there when we need it. I can’t say that for insurance companies.
November 13th, 2008 at 5:27 pm
#9 You may not have a choice of switching over. Companies use benefits, like health insurance, to attract & keep workers (exactly why I’m where I’m working, and eating the bs every day). If they don’t have to use that carrot to lure in people because the gov’t provides it that’s one less thing they have on their expense report. Benefits are the biggest part of salaries, that’s why contractors & consultants are so attractive, the company that “rents” them pays just salary, no benefits. Once a national health care system goes in companies will be flocking to dump theirs or crank up the employee portion to push people out of it. And besides, the gov’t can’t run the VA right, how are they going to provide for all? I doubt any of the $$ from Iraq/Afghanistan will go to anything other than more spending, gov’t doesn’t run like normal people where you have ‘x’ money; they can just get more through taxes. Try to just get more from work…..
November 13th, 2008 at 5:36 pm
I can see it now, being taken to jail, the verdict, he didn’t purchase health insurance.
November 13th, 2008 at 5:45 pm
Hi. I live in Belgium, a socialist country. Worse, I reside in one of the most leftist cities in the country, where taxes and unions have bankrupted the industry. The average steel worker has stolen a small fortune from his factory over the years; theft is a way of life among the local monkeys. The state pretends to bailout the factories; the subsidies uselessly received come from money taxed to other businesses, which also ruins them. Union leaders, politicians and their friends in various legal and illegal trades share the loot. They control most housing, health care, unemployment benefits, car insurances, banks, etc, and they tax ferociously. Guns are on the verge of being ripped from the population in preparation for its enslavement. Countless anti-freedom laws have been imposed and the innocent is more harassed by cops and judges than real thugs are.
Health care is the surest way of rendering people dependent, i.e. obedient; that’s why governments want to impose their health care to everyone. If you don’t obey them, they blackmail you with the treat of removing your medical care. A state monopoly of health care is a very powerful blackmail ploy. And it’s a communist scam, so every American should reject it like you reject the gulag, because they belong to the same plot. Convice all your compatriots to undo socialism at local and state elections. If you don’t, the feds will enslave you as other governments have already begun enslaving people worldwide. Your Second Amendment is your greatest asset: use it for deterence as much as possible. If that does not suffice, use it for punishment. The federal thugs have exasperated Americans nearly as much as King George III had.
November 13th, 2008 at 5:53 pm
What if someone does not have the income to buy health insurance as 1 in about 8 Americans cannot do so already???
Oh shoot ! No worry !
Money is going to grow on trees and we can all just pluck it off when the Feds start using the government printing presses to print out even MORE worthless money to pay for the bailout / payoff to the financial institutions! Money will be EVERYWHERE !!!
Hey. Since the Feds stopped publishing M3, the measure of the money supply, they can print out as much money as we all need and no one will know the better !!!!
I will take 3 health insurance plans please.
Put it on my government printing press tab.
November 13th, 2008 at 6:12 pm
I work in the crooked health care system, and this whole thing is just another way for those creeps to know everything else about you they don’t already know. I agree with Dr. Bill Deagle that the medical system is just another strong arm of the New World Order. Of course it is, Rockefeller and Carnegie were the main founders if I’m remembering correctly from books I’ve read on the topic. It’s total bullshit that they’re mandating Americans to purchase health care insurance, and you can be guaranteed that they won’t do an effing thing about the price of their worthless insurance policies. It must be another way they plan to ship us all off to the FEMA camps because we were busted for not purchasing health care insurance. I’m so glad that gun sales have skyrocketed!
November 13th, 2008 at 6:16 pm
We should out source health care and teach that market economy dose work. If I had the money I would build a state of the art hospital in Mexico with world class health providers; the I would charge half the price of the one’s in the states and to my joy watch them sink.

“Health Care for All” will simply represent an open book on all health records for just about anyone to see. I would not be surprised when they have a “Health Score” just like a credit score. This country will take something that can potentially help alot of people and add so many strings to it to participate that it wont even be worth it. I think people need to focus on the larger picture of getting true representation and overthrowing these corporate crooks and thieves. Its going to be a big fight–I hope people will turn off the brainwashing machine (TV) an be selective about the information they are getting. Just think, if even 10% of the people boycotted CNN and all the other cronies and started lobbying for a new media channel covered by panel of real journalists, these networks would panic! Thats why we got to protect sources like this. We can’t afford to get any stupider that we already are. This “sick care” system is a travesty that kills more people every year than we can even imagine. I refuse to participate in it–all the natural elements are already here-I don’t even talk to Dr.s unless they have an education that goes well beyond drug therapy. I have seen too many people be harmed by this pyramid scheme.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:24 pm
#19 – I am in agreement with you. When people really need to have health/dental work, I encourage them to go to Mexico. The health care there is outstanding. The AMA has for years been trying to discredit the physicians down there. I can tell you that it is pure BS. Like anyone, you got to do your homework, but the quality and price is just amazing. AND you are treated like a human being. Just look at the number of Cancer Clinics over the border–WHY? Because they are using some methods that actually does cure disease and does not involve Chemo/Radiation or any of those other Pharma Scams. So be informed, please, everything is possible, but people need to know about it and someone needs to tell them. Privatization is a great thing as long as there are strict and enforcable “ground rules”. Otherwise we get into the same old mess we have now.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:33 pm
Proven horrible idea. Romney’s mandate caused a huge deficit. And in the name of control they will dictate your rates based on what preventative exams you get, just like John Edward’s plan called for mandatory mamograms or your premiums go up.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:56 pm
dont take the injections
November 13th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
1 El Technico, This is not a single-payer plan like Canada. More likely it operates like John Edward’s plan: If you have a house but can’t afford your mortgage if you buy health insurance, then they either take your house so you can pay the insurance premium, or force you to take their “free” health care but only if you submit to whatever exam or medical procedure they require – including radiographic exams – or else lose your home. And the govt will be mandating so much, it will cost private insurers more, so they will mandate more.
When Obama campaigned he claimed he was against mandatory health insurance coverage for adults. If he signs, it’s one more election promise he reneged.

Traditional sources are unlikely to work because the scam is so HUGE! First off, the US has had the illegal creation of the Federal Resrve for about 95 years–in that span of time the Fed has helped to usher in the IRS (its collection agent), WWI, orchastrated stock market crash of 1929 that it manipulated into happening, the removal of the gold standard in 1933, entry into WWII, entry into the Korean War that many still do not know why we entered, JFK assassination, entry into Viet nam war, on up to the present with other false flag operations such as inside job 911, illegal war on Iraq, Gitmo, Patriot Act that basically nullifies our US Constitution…the illegal $700 billion bailout, ETC. ETC. ETC. Do you recall that on 9-10-2001 Rumsfeld announced that their was some $2.6 TRILLION unaccounted? The following day 9-11, and then a little later on, it was reported Rumsfeld was in error, the more accurate amount of missing $ was $3.4 TRILLION! This was announced with an explaination that we will never be able to know for sure how it was stolen from the US people snce the evidence were located in the Pentagon and Twin Towers, like the ENRON evidence–how convenient. Hmmm. Could such vast amounts of money help to finance a 9-11 false flag operation? We rightly squabble about $700 Billion bailout, but $3.4 TRILLION based on 2001 value is some five times this most recent bailout! The illegal Federal Reserve has capitalized and encouraged every war and false flag operation that it financed into existence with monopoly money that is not based on anything; yet, the Federal Reserve charged interest on such a fiat system and therefore manipulated much of the true wealth and assessts of this country away from WE THE PEOPLE! How many of you have lost a family member or friend in the manufactured wars of the 20th and now 21st century? How many have died. In WWI and WWII it is estimated as much as a 100 MILLION died in those senseless wars. In Vietnam, one million vietnamese died–not counting US deaths. In Iraq, MILLIONS have died since its manipulated war with Iran in the 1980s, and speaking of Iran, now the US (CIA/MOSAD) are encouraging a war with Iran! When will it cease? Who stands to gain by such evil manipulations? Surely WE THE PEOPLE do not gain anything from wars and rumors of wars, so why participate in a game that offers you no true lasting benefits/rewards? Folks, you want change? Then get involved and do what your heart, mind and soul directs you to do to bring about a lasting change to usher in JUSTICE and hopefully PEACE. NUFF SAID–GET INVOLVED! Peace.

If you want to fix health care you need to get rid of managed care, and nobody is talking about this. For those of you that don’t know managed care is nothing more than a middle man that contracts with your insurance carrier to drive down the amount of money being paid out by the carrier. They in turn charge the doctor sometimes up to 25% of their gross billing to participate in the plan. So in turn the doctors and hospitals raise their rates. Not to mention they have to hire full time receptionists to battle with he HMO, PPO etc. to get their money. When has it ever made sense to create a middle man position when you want to keep costs down and increase productivity? This is exactly what has happened with managed care. Basically with managed care you have some teenager who is working a phone job telling your doctor what they can or can’t do for you (basically practicing medicine without a license. All in the name of saving the insurance company more money at the same time premiums have gone thought the roof!! Lobby your state to pass any-willing provider laws to get rid of managed care.

“Mandatory” insurance?
We’ve seen what happens when insurance is made mandatory
when state legislators were paid off to pass laws forcing
the driving public to purchase auto insurance.
Most everyone had car insurance before, but since it was
voluntary the prices stayed down. Soon as they required it
by law prices went sky high.
Same with health insurance. These cockroaches are just
stool pigeons for the insurance industry.
November 16th, 2008 at 6:16 pm
Uhm, every time you see the word “mandatory” preceeding a word or string of words- you know it ain`t for OUR benefit.
