The Senate Finance Committee voted on Tuesday to approve legislation that would reshape the American health care system and provide subsidies to help millions of people buy insurance, as Senator Olympia J. Snowe, Republican of Maine, joined all 13 Democrats on the panel in support of the landmark bill.
The vote was 14 to 9, with all of the other Republicans opposed.

Democrats, including President Obama, had courted Ms. Snowe’s vote, hoping that she would break with the Republican Party leadership and provide at least a veneer of bipartisanship to the bill, which Mr. Obama has declared his top domestic priority. Ms. Snowe was a main author of the bill but she had never committed to voting for it.

You have to live in their state and be a registered voter in their district, then you have to start gathering signatures which requires significant funding because most signature gatherers are paid to do so (they tend to be most effective). If enough signatures are gathered and the proper paperwork is filed, a recall can be initiated. In CA, it comes up on a special ballot initiative (we are currently recalling the Republican buttmunch who voted to raise taxes (largest increase by a state in US history) after signing a pledge prior to being elected and swearing on talk radio under no circumstances would he EVER raise taxes.

The cops came and while they stood on the front porch I went around back to get back in and nephew shoved me again and said he didn’t need my f-ing s-t and locked me out, I went around front and told the cops, they didn’t believe me. Its my name on the lease so I called the landlord who told me to get legal advice and if I move, they’re tresspassing and he’ll throw them out. Its been proven already that with this health care reform 25 million would still not be covered.
This isn’t about the poor nor the disadvantaged or lazy out there. They already have government programs that cover their medical. Most of the states are bankrupt from the illegals using this system. This would make it worse. It would flatten this nation even worse than it already is. Plus give higher deductibles to the middle class and wealthy families.

why don’t you try reading the bill before assuming that this about keeping the poor down. I agree that the poor and disadvantaged should have a right to health care but not at the expense of a corrupt government or at the expense of other tax paying americans who are already paying over 10 types of taxes. Why do you think that the poor and disabled don’t already have affordable health care? It’s already available – through the Medicaid and Medicare programs, SCHIP for kids and pregnant women, Medicaid Spend down programs, Federally funded VA hospitals for vets, and a lot of our communities have free clinics, county health clinics, church and local fundraisers, even the hospitals like Shriners are free for burn victims children. There are many disease name associations and societies that collect money from efforts, and the United Way.
Also families bail each other out as necessary. Can you think of any more?
I do not have a health care insurance plan. I was terminated from a job right after 9/11 that paid me very well and I had coverage then. I couldnt afford COBRA so I have been without health insurance since 2001. I still do not have any outstanding healthcare bills. My boyfriend and my son both don’t have health problems and do not have health insurance either. We will get it when we are good and ready.
On the other hand, a man I know got diabetes type 1, asthma, and other ailments, didnt get on disability, kept working for his employer without health insurance, lived the la vida loca lifestyle to the hilt, and ended up in the hospital and owes $20K. He finally got on a plan for himself and his autistic child but he is almost broke trying to pay the medical bills. I feel sorry for him…but he is too stoned to get his paperwork turned in on time so he has missed the boat and ended up in financial ruin. I asked him to explain what he would do in case of this NWO healthcare plan succeeds and they have access to all his private info, are controlling his life 24-7, and he said “NWO doesnt sound so bad if it includes free healthcare. Whats the big whoop?”

It’s real easy for people who make 200k a year to decide that everyone else needs to have tax paid health care especially when we keep finding out how many of them are not or havent paid taxes. So why are we again when its not constitutional. Here is an idea if people out there had the guts to do it, and not serve their masters who provide their paychecks. ALL OF US stop working for one week at least and see what it does to their pocket books the economy. They need to be reminded who keeps this country running. insurence is the biggest thief on the planet you pay so that if something happens your covered but the insurence companys put stipulations on how your covered like car insurence for instance if you get in an accident in a red car you only get half the coverage but if you drive a black car you get a quarter of the coverage but if you drive a police car your tottally covered. why cant i just be covered 4 the money we give them

The Senate Finance Committee Health Care Bill DOESN’T INCLUDE A PUBLIC HEALTH INSURANCE OPTION! The attempts to link the public option (or even single-payer) to the “Baucus Bill” is a massive plan from the health sector to maintain their profits secure without no real competition! Every health system that includes competiton through public alternatives in the world have problems of waste, fraud and abuse (just like many private companies in places with no regulation of markets at all) but the core goals of bring costs down are achieved, no mistake about that.
If single-payer health care or a self sustainable public option are EVIL, why hcr wasn’t passed in the past? For the american conservative movement, the right is wrong.

Just to let you people know, the health insurance companies wasted no time reveling in their recent victory. They have increased monthly premiums between 8-16%. The also raised the co-payments on doctors visits and DROPPED many vital hospitalization and surgery procedures. The insurance companies have been getting away with bloody murder for way too long. What is the solution? Pretty soon, nobody will be able to afford good health insurance. It will be reserved for the super-rich. Most people pay about $100.00 every two weeks out of their check. Now it will be between $108-$116 every 2 weeks. That is $3,016.00 per year for the average pleeb, plus co pay, plus prescription co-pay. Multiply that out and that is A LOT OF DUCKINS!!!
