Senate Update on Audit the Fed legislation

Dear Friend of Liberty,
Earlier today, the first shot in our battle to pass Audit the Fed through the U.S. Senate was fired on the Senate floor by Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina.

Senator DeMint, who has a well-deserved reputation for taking the battle to the other side in the Senate, once again proved why he is such a valuable ally in our fight to bring transparency and accountability to the Federal Reserve.
A little while ago, the Senate voted to pass HR 2918, the Legislative Branch Appropriations Act. This $3 billion bill contains, among many other things, provisions for GAO audits on certain agencies.
Seizing on a chance to take quick action to bring Audit the Fed up for a vote, and with the GAO provisions in mind, Senator DeMint attached the full text of S 604, the Senate version of Ron Paul’s Audit the Fed bill, to HR 2918 as Senate Amendment 1367 before it was considered for final passage.
However, Senate Democrats refused to even allow a vote on the amendment! That’s right. The internationalist, Fed-loving elite in the Senate used a parliamentary tactic to shut down DeMint’s amendment.
After Senator DeMint brought Audit the Fed to the floor, Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska raised a “point of order” to prevent a vote, claiming that the amendment violated Senate Rule 16 by “legislating” on an appropriations bill. The Senate president agreed, and the amendment was shot down.
Senator DeMint did not back down, though, and directly challenged Senate leadership by pointing out the other GAO audits contained in the bill. As Senator DeMint listed them off, the Senate president was forced to agree with Senator DeMint that each one he described, all of which would be left in for final passage, also violated Senate Rule 16.
Which tells us at least one thing: the problem wasn’t with “legislating” on the bill or violating Senate Rules (which is commonly done). Shooting down the amendment was about preventing a thorough audit of the Federal Reserve for the first time in its history!

But the American people deserve answers on what the Fed has done with trillions of our tax dollars and what they are committing us and future generations to as part of their secret deals with foreign central banks and governments.
The leadership decided today to turn their backs on transparency, but our fight is just beginning.
As Senator DeMint made clear on the floor, the Audit the Fed bill has wide bipartisan support. He rightly warned the Senate that even if they delay today, they WILL have to deal with the issue on the floor.
It is up to you and me to back up Senator DeMint’s words by making sure the momentum continues to build and the bill comes up for a final vote.
The rejection of the Audit amendment is just the first battle in our war. Now is the time to really put the pressure on the U.S. Senate to Audit the Fed!
Senator DeMint fired the opening salvo and showcased the hypocrisy of the Senate for allowing other GAO audits to be included in the bill while refusing to even allow a vote on Fed transparency.
Again, we’re just getting started. Senator DeMint will keep fighting to pass Audit the Fed on its own or as an amendment, and we need to continue putting pressure on our senators to do everything in their power to achieve a floor vote!

I like Alex just fine. I listen to him regularly, but with all his rants, no one else I know will take him seriously, and earlier today during he M. J. rant, even I had to just shut him off. We need him, as the tip of the spear for truth and the defense of liberty on alternative media, but Alex himself is turning his own show into a circus event, and turning away loyal listeners with these recent childish antics. I hope someone will tell Alex that while he may be having fun, or needs to vent, the country needs him to become more serious on air, to restore his credibility.

Well that was the most entertaining Jackson coverage yet. I turned off the tv months ago and today I decided to turn it on for the heck of it and channel after channel like he was some god that died. Alex was trying to say what the tv and media is reporting is like a brain washing. Drilling into your head how important Jackson was but how trivial the government goes around stealing everything is. I’m sick of the tv telling me how to think and Alex gives you the facts and lets you decide how to digest it all. Think yall can do a better job? Go for it all hands on deck the ship is goin down.

Why doesn’t a congressman and a senator who is on our side just put the “audit the Fed” bill as an amendment in every and all bills that hit the house and senate floor for vote?
Then, either they include it for consideration, forcing the vote, or they must take all amendments out of the bill.

Alex Jones is a human being just like the rest of us. And we all know that human beings are imperfect. You can’t expect Alex Jones to be perfect, either. I support what he does. If it wasn’t for him, a lot of people wouldn’t have stumbled across the path of free thinking. Including myself. He’s not a saint or savior or god or hero. But he is a very strong leader and encourages people, not to blatantly follow him, but to ask questions, demand answers, and above all, question authority. :B He gets a lot of s--- for doing what he does.

I get so sick and tired of you ppl and your “learn to spell properly” bs, as long as the message and point comes across who gives a flying F%$k about the spelling if its alittle bit off. Most of us can agree that the the amerikan educational system is flawed and broken, though i will say to that , if the children of amerika dont care then you cant teach them. BUt, really there are far more important things to waste time and effort on that “please learn to spell properly” especially when so many of the rules in English contradict themselves and with the onset of text messaging whare ppl can tel what your saying with all sorts of short hand 133t speach. To fix the amerikan educational system i think one of the first steps should be for someone to come up with a program to make the children care about education and issues. INstead of putting all there efforts into what celebrity is banging what celibrity or what looser is going to win amerikan Idol. And to actualy give a Sh%T and care and participate in their own future.
and on a final note we have to stop our children from having children, you cant completely flip the population every 17 to 22 years with 3 to 5 children per family (some have less some have more) . I say teach sex as recreation , as stress releaf but to do it safely and sober and not just as a mechanism of procreation.
Now im quite sure that last point came across completely wrong for alot of you and i have left many misspellings in here on purpose.

Our founding fathers did not attend the public fool system. The gradual decline in the fundamental educational subjects reading, writing and arithmatic let alone history or science are very evident even at the college level. Just be happy that someone shows a grasp of the subject; we can work on thier spelling. Now staying on subject is another problem all together. I would like to ask these senate leaders directly for thier reasoning to avoid this legislation.

Come on, Witt, think about it. With the amount of people who pretend they know what they are talking about, you have to notice trends in order to weed through the BS. One major trend is ppl who spell like they type on msn (u, l8r, etc) or don’t know how to spell at all get their info from twitter, facebook, CNN, etc. They get about 10 minutes worth of info, feel like they have an opinion, and go make stupid youtube videos that they call documentaries.

I’m with you Kayhla! These people need to relax. Alex is what he is. He’s not perfect –sometimes a hypocrite–definitely gets way to sidetracked sometimes. Yes he can be obnoxious. But let’s just enjoy his talent for what it is. The guy is extremely hard working and he opens up so many new doors with the info that he provides.
I spent years researching NWO stuff on my own and coming to all the same conclusions as Alex. That doesn’t mean I always agree with the way he approaches every issue. He digs way to deep sometimes and tries to draw connections where maybe it’s irrelevant. However, the bulk of what he reports is dead accurate and scary as hell.
If you are all so disdainful of the guy then why are you on his website?? Why don’t you start your own radio program and show us all how its done?
Like Kayhla said, quit wasting you time nitpicking and enjoy the time we have left. The good fight won’t be won if you fools are all whining about how LOUD Alex is, or whether or not he’s 100% perfect 100% of the time.

No one is perfect, and AJ often, almost daily reminds us of that fact. He is only human, and although I have heard enough of the MJ crap, I understand why it upsets him so much, does anyone else here get it yet? I have many sources of information, and listen to MANY radio shows and read many articles, yet I do not want to imagine a day without his rants and his guests. I don’t think attacking 1000’s of people mourning this nut, MJ, will help our cause and may turn many away, so on this one point he should drop it now and move on.

Alex’s personality can be a hindrence in getting some to listen to him, my wife can’t stand him for example where as i love him. At the end of the day Alex isn’t the truth movement just a part of it. It’s the issues that matter not the personalities.

I completely agree. I love AJ for who he is, regardless of his rants and temper and I understand why he is so upset about everyone fixating around MJ. However, the reason why I listen to his show is so that I can get away from the MSM and won’t have to hear about MJ. Maybe one or two days of expressing his anger at the MSM is enough, but this has got to stop.

I hope you fools realize that the AJ Deception film will have the total opposite effect of what’s intended. It’s just more attention and more name recognition for Alex. As soon as people check him out they know he is for real. The film will obviously reinforce the views of the skeptics with their heads in the sand, but intelligent people will check out Alex, cross reference his claims and realize that he’s telling the truth (at least more than anyone else I can find).
The quality and integrity of Alex’s guests alone should be evidence of his own integrity. I can’t believe you tools actually think a slick propaganda piece is going to “ruin” Alex.

The thing that gets me is, in everyday life, if there is a crazy person talking to himself on the street, people pass by and ignore them. They don’t stand near them telling passer-bys that this person is crazy. Yet, here you have people on this website who choose to post how crazy and false everything Alex Jones says is. When if they really believed that, they wouldn’t be here, they wouldn’t listen to him.
The fact that so many posts are the same tone against Alex suggests that this is more a smear campaign.
As for the bill being shot down, the co-sponsors of that bill should hold statewide press conferences to force mainstream media to cover it. And then concentrate on the next round.
And for the love of God, Alex, please stop going on and on like you do. If you want to talk about MJ coverage, that is fine, but if you are going to carry on and on like you were doing, I have to stop listening. Once and a while for a short period of time is all right, but come on… Despite the mainstream media refusing to cover any real news, doesn’t mean you should follow suit.

I think Taibbi is handled with the best of them…he did a hitjob on 9/11 Truth on The Daily Show with John Stewart….that was shockingly bad….he spoke of hanging out with 9/11 Truth group (that he failed to identify) and he bashed them for sitting around and eating pizza and talking about no planes….it was the level of journalism I expect from a guy like Glenn Beck, not Matt Taibbi (or Stewart)…both of whom I tend to like. So Caveat Emptor with Taibbi…he’s a lot like Bill Maher…they’re geniuses on 90% of the important issues, but they look at building 7 and says, “F*ck it, let’s do lunch.”

Why doesn’t a congressman and a senator who is on our side just put the “audit the Fed” bill as an amendment in every and all bills that hit the house and senate floor for vote?
Then, either they include it for consideration, forcing the vote, or they must take all amendments out of the bill.

So the revolution begins. In my opinion we pick a date to revolt (say March 10th, 2010). This gives more than enough time for us freedom fighters to buy ammo, guns, silver, gold, candles, blankets, gloves and food (for our families).
Pick a date, give THE PEOPLE enough time to prepare themselves (and their families) and then attack.
In mean time, we also begin collecting info. on the traitors. Where they live, what car they drive, how many kids they have, where their kids go to school. Anything and everything….we must begin organizing ourselves (and our families) and gather recruits.
I would recommend the date be after winter. All winter, the people will be stocking up food, and when spring begins, they can start planting their own food and we’ll begin our march!

Posts get deleted here if you say anything too close to the truth. Alex Jones, David Icke, and the like, will all give you a lot more truth than say somebody like Michael Moore, but in the end they still don’t offer any practical solutions, and often lead to false conclusions so as to conceal the real truth. Why do you think these guys live, but William Cooper is dead?
