Senator Warner Supports Domestic Use of Military

A citizen of Virginia named Moya Atkinson wrote to Senator John Warner to express concern over the recent violation of the Posse Comitatus Act created by the assigning of U.S. soldiers to duty within the United States, reported by the Army Times as intended for "crowd control" among other duties. This, like other changes imposed by President Bush, of course violates the Posse Comitatus Act. It also served to strengthen the threats of martial law that Congressman Brad Sherman reported the White House making to Congress members in order to win their support for the $780 billion give-away to Wall Street.
Warner sent back the following note, proposing that, rather than changing the president’s behavior to comply with the law, we should — as with warrantless spying, habeas corpus, etc. — change the law to comply with the president’s behavior:
Thank you for contacting me regarding your opposition to Northern Command dedicating a combat infantry team to work within the United States. I appreciate your thoughtful inquiry on this important matter.
As you may know, the Northern Command has assigned the 1st Brigade Combat Team of the 3rd Infantry to deal with catastrophes in the United States. While the unit would not take over as the lead, the Army reports that this unit would be deployed to help local, state, or federal agencies deal with matters such as chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and high-yield explosive (CBRNE) incidents. The unit will be based in Fort Stewart, Georgia, and will focus primarily on logistics and support for local police and rescue personnel.
Looking back, the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts highlighted the important role our military plays during domestic crises. From providing security in destroyed neighborhoods, to treating patients aboard naval vessels, to rebuilding damaged levees and unwatering New Orleans, the military has performed vital work that no other federal or state entity has the capacity to undertake.

Not withstanding these tremendous achievements, I am deeply concerned that the Department of Defense and the President may not have authority to use active duty personnel in the most effective manner. In our federal system, we normally, and rightly, depend upon state and local authorities to maintain order and protect the public. The National Guard, operating under Title 32 of the U.S. Code, is the primary military organization authorized to employ police powers in times of crisis. However, in a situation of the magnitude of Hurricane Katrina, the level of destruction, coupled with the difficulty in maintaining order, brings into question the prohibition on using federal active duty military personnel, operating under Title 10 of the U.S. Code, to perform law enforcement duties.
I believe we must review the 1878 Posse Comitatus Act and similar provisions that limit the role of the active duty military to ensure that every available asset is properly employed in any type of future emergency situation. Title 18, Section 1385 of the U.S. Code, commonly referred to as the Posse Comitatus Act, prevents the armed forces from becoming involved in law enforcement activities for which, in most cases, they are not specifically trained or equipped. Posse Comitatus is largely rooted in historical tradition that prohibits military involvement in civilian affairs.
To be clear, I do not believe that U.S. law pertaining to this matter needs to be entirely rewritten. I do, however, think it is necessary that we review the regulations governing use of military personnel in domestic operations in order to better understand how all of our military assets can best assist during emergency situations.

WOW! I love the way the picture is always painted. We are instructed that these measures are for our own good. Violating our rights our actually good for us. How silly we are to even question it! Can’t we see how we need the military patrolling our streets? How have we gotten along without it for so long? We’re sure lucky our elected officials are there to point out that ignoring, than retro-fitting the constitution is what we need for our own safety. Thank goodness!! I would have just gone right along acting like a free person, & making my own decesions. The senator may actually have a point. If the s--- really hits the fan their will be american military service personnel scattered everywhere. From your local recruiter to men and woman in dozens of uniforms with thousands of different day jobs. These are americans i am referring to so they do count. It may not be a bad idea for them to have rules of conduct and some basic plans for civilian deployment. And yes i’m not so naive as to think for one second that big brother wouldn’t use any form of military activity inside the US as a pentagon op. But the fact remains that the self same personnel are with us in our country every day anyway, so why not review Posse Comitatus Act with the goal of bolstering and reinforcing its importance and relevance in todays world.

HERE IS AN IDEA: You can’t march on Washington DC because if you did you would have one single target for the government to hit all at once. So I propose that on December 31 ( New Years Eve ) that the American people take back there government at the state level. We the people march on and take over the capetal building in every single state all on the same day at the same time. That would take care of the army because they cant fight us all at the same time in every state. We would just have to worry about the state government. Not to mention it would be a world wide event that they couldn’t hide on the back page. So we bust down the door for visual effect, we occupy the capitol building for a period of 3, 5, 7 days what ever. The point is we shut them down on the state level for a few days. You don’t want to really have a long stand off because you want the people to stay on your side and the people that work for the state still need a pay check at the end of the week. And we’r e just making a point. That we the people have had it and in stops RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW. BUT, if the government moves on it’s people in any state and I mean any state. Meaning that if they try to get us out using any kind of force at all, guns, tear gas, microwave cannon, whatever, then we burn it down all of them captil buildings in every state all at the same time. Now of course this plan needs a lot of fine tuning. but we have two months to make this happen. Hell, for all I know there might not be enough people pissed off yet. Hell Warren is only saying what they all want, and it will happen, and their biggest thing is to sell it to the p8ublic. Now if we have mass rioting after the elections, or a false flag op that does a lot of damage, the sheeple will call to be protected and they will deploy the troops. It is always said tht these types of troops are there fo logistics reasons, in a support role, and they are at first, until called in, then they will take the lead and most Police Officers will follow them because the Military has better weapons, and more room to move.

Historical Tradition?! The Congress that was in office in 1878 understood full well the magnitude of the forces they were up against. Posse Comitatus was enacted to prevent the very thing that we all see happening in Fort Stewart, Georgia. Active duty US soldiers ready for action right here in the good ole US of A folks. Posse Comitatus is the law not a historical tradition, and apparantely were suppose to be good citizens and obey the law and the Government can break them when ever they damn well please ! That is what tyranny is when the law makers become the law breakers and still expect their citizens to obey the law. Unfortunately the American people for the most part dont give a damn either! I think the American people are beyond trying to resolve anything in a “peaceful” way. Especially after all of this bailout bullcrap. Its not a matter of defeating the military, its unbrainwashing and re-educating the military and making sure they are fighting on the right side. People have been doing these “peaceful movements” for quite some time now and NOTHING has been done to change anything. We are to question authority and get rid of corrupt government whenever it should do us more harm than good by any means necessary. I sincerely believe there will be a blood bath before its all over with here in this country and so be it. If a biological weapon or nuke is used than everything becomes CONTAMINATED,how do we prevent scared and hungry neighbors from going on a raiding spree it will become the ‘middle-ages again.

Our founding fathers warned us that “Our form of government was made only for a moral and religious people and that it is wholly inadequate for the governance of any other.” America has just lived through one of the few short periods in history when there was relative peace and prosperity because it came in on the coat tails of a generation of founding fathers who loved God with all their heart and thus had the wisdom to pass it on to the current generation. But now that America has been overrun with a homosexual mindset, it is no longer able to distinguish between men and women. Just too stupid and sinful to see the difference. So it labels men and women as equal and therefore allows women to vote. As a result, voters, the majority of which are women are able to be seduced by high talking politicians who believe it is just fine to allow the military to patrol our streets. It gets much worse, but that’s where it starts.

#37 Dean. I like the idea. But I do think we could and probably should march on Washington too. At the same moment. Take your hunting rifle out of the closet and oil them up folks. That is what our forefathers meant by tumultuous action of the people knowing that we the people would not act till we absolutely had no choice but to take OUR nation back by force of arms, hence the Second amendment. Here is a conjunctive idea. I dont know exactly what it will take to piss Americans off enough to act in concert which will be sufficient to make them get their rifles out of the closet but I hope we get there soon. But I believe just prior to that event. We must go on strike. Run on the banks draw down our accounts enough to cause the government to stress and panic. We buy enough food to stay home for a two weeks or a month whatever it takes. If we dont go work. The wheels grind to a halt rather quickly. The taxes are not taken from our pay checks. The government doesn’t get paid. Think of all the down line effects of everyone staying home! Enormous. No gas sales, nor tax flow. No resturant sales. No need for workers in the grocery and stores if there are no customers. Cant pay the road workers if there is no inflow of tax monies and the economy is so fragile. The best power we have is financial power. We need to exploit that make make it work for us while it is still shaky. Strangle them from the wallet. Its the only control we have. Then when it get so bad that they cant deal with it, we will know it, then we march. No quarter given.

Q. Why can 800,000 illegal Cenco De Mayo immigrants be assembled at such short notice to protest for rights they dont have in this country but we cant get three born Americans to walk shoulder to shoulder in defense of their own rights and their Country.
A. They fear they will be alone. They fear loosing all the things they have worked so hard for in their lives. While the illegals will be shipped back to their home only to return again. WE Americans are the only ones with something to loose.

too many people employed by the government. directly or indirectly. while the thought of “the government” as being an evil entity, is correct on a bigger picture, the facts are we all want a cushy government job. Who doesnt hate the way the dept of liscensing employee presents themselves to their “bosses”, er the public? Um, any city/state employee…?

Lets look at the numbers of certain things in the US:
-Approximately ~840,000 LEO’s in the US
-Approximately ~1.4 million active duty military
-Approximately ~848,000 military reservists
-Approximately a little over ~303 million Americans
-Approximately ~80 MILLION gun owners
-Approximately ~280 MILLION privately owned firearms
So basically the equation boils down to ~3mil vs. ~80mil, and that’s just taking into account gun owners. There are plenty of LEO’s and military that wouldn’t put up with our military being used (used in a violent manner at least) against the public. We are probably talking about a majority of the population joining in to resist the government if, God forbid, violent martial law was to be imposed against the American people. In that case we’re looking at maybe 150-200+ million people versus possibly not even 3 million LE/Mil. Heck some of those in LE/Mil would join us as they ARE Americans too!
Things may get bad in this country, and I hope to God they never come to that. As much as the forces of evil have tried to whittle away at our rights, notably the 2nd amendment, the numbers are still grossly stacked in our favor EXACTLY the way the founders of this great country intended.

Like many others, I have given this some thought. I think I know what would do it. There are rumors circulating that some 300,000 foreign combat troops are currently in the U.S. hidden on various military bases. If there is verifiable evidence to support this, then the fuse would be lit. Proof undeniable that the enemy is indeed inside the gates. Like at Kasan when the zips were in the wire, out came the shotguns.

I really HATE to say this, but instead of fighting all the illegal aliens, we should all band together as one against our government. The constitution was written just for this reason, (to protect the people) but somehow Bush has gotten away with destroying it. Obama is a democrat and so is most of congress and Nancy Pelosi, we need her out, for sure. We are all in trouble if something good doesn’t happen. Our government wants us afraid, dependent, hungry, broke, sick and they are making sure they get that. Our food, water, air, vitamins and herbs are being destroyed. What else do we have? I voted for Chuck Baldwin (constitutional party) because I refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils again!

This is what is pissing me off about our government….it is completely corrupt and is enciting rules to give the government power. More than it deserves or should have. If you do feel this way and you would like to help educate and discuss these things outside of this website (I really hate to advertise but this is only another medium to discuss things like this) if you have a facebook account I have started a group called People who want to end special interest parties in government!!!!!
